Lucille Daniel
PELHAM, N.C. - Lucille Adams Daniel of 5566 Park Springs Road died Friday, Sept. 10, 1999, at Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born in Wilkes County, N.C., she was a daughter of Clifton and Elizabeth Barnett Adams. A member of the Baptist faith, she attended Wilkes County Schools and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Daniel of the home; a daughter, LuLinne Dushatinski of Syracuse, N.Y.; two sons, Ben Adams Daniel and Gwen Franklin Daniel, both of Pelham; a sister, Ruth Ussery of Fayetteville, N.C.; a brother, Clay Adams of Wilkesboro, N.C.; and six grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetary, with the Rev. K. Carl Singley officiating.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7-8 p.m. at Hooper Funeral Home in Yanceyville and at other times at the residence.
Judy Short
HICKORY, N.C. - Judy Ann Short, 34, of 3338 16th St. NE., died Monday, September 13, 1999, at her residence after 10 months of declining health.
Born April 16, 1965, in Halifax County, she was the daughter of Kenneth E. Short, and Vivian Martin Terry, who survives. She was the stepdaughter of James Nelson Terry Jr., who also survives.
She resided in Keeling, Va., prior to moving to Hickory. She was a Certified Nursing Assistat with Home Health Care in Hickory. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her mother and stepfather, both of Keeling, survivors include one son, Wesley Allen Haynes of Sutherlin, Va.; a grandmother, Pearl W. Martin; stepgrandmother and stepgrandfather, Hattie V. Terry and James Nelson Terry of Keeling, Va.; three sisters, Rhonda S. Taylor of Amelia, Va., Barbara S. Fisher of Volens, Va., and Sandra S. Vaughn of Keeling, Va.; one brother, Kenneth Dale Short of Volens, Va.; one step-sister Pamela Jean Terry of Charleston, S.C.
She was predeceased by one brother Ronnie A. Short and her grandfather Albert Martin.
A funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel with the Rev. Herman Absher officiating. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memory Garden.
The family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel and at other times at the residence of Vivian and Junior Terry, 6833 Slatesville Road, .
Franklin Dickerson
PELHAM, N.C. - Franklin R. Dickerson, 62, of 78 Dickerson Road, died Sept. 16, 1999.
He was married
to Dorothy H. Dickerson, who survives.
He was a native of Rockingham County and a member of the Disciple of Christ United Holy Church in Danville, Va. He was a former employee of Cone Mills.
In addition to his wife of the residence, survivors include three daughters, Dorothy Noble of Pelham, Lisa Chatten and Charlene Dickerson, both of Eden; five brothers, Elmer Dickerson and James Dickerson, both of Reidsville, David Dickerson, Joe Dickerson and Willie Lee Dickerson, all of Delaware; five sisters, Margaret Williamson of Reidsville, Millie Miller of Greensboro and Dorothy Blackstock, Virginia Bigelow and Calethia Simpson, all of Delaware; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Blue Stone Baptist Church in Pelham. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Monday at Perry-Spencer Funeral Home in Eden.
Ruby Gallaher
RUFFIN, N.C. - Ruby Cox Gallaher, 81, of 121 Wiley Road, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 1999 at Morehead Memorial Hospital in Eden.
A native of Rockingham County, she was a member of Happy Home Congregational Christian Church.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Peggy Gallaher of Ruffin; a stepdaughter, Barbara Joyce of High Point; two grandchildren, Joe Charles Gallaher Jr. and Jennifer Strader, and one stepgrandchild, Melea Joyce.
A funeral will be held 4 p.m. Tuesday at Happy Home Congregational Christian Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Monday at Fair Funeral Home in Eden and at other times at the residence.
Deloris Campbell
REIDSVILLE, N.C. - Deloris Setliff Campbell, 78, of 1202 Gunn St., Apt. 15B, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 1999, at Forsyth Memorial Hospital.
Born in Rockingham County, N.C., she was the daughter of Floyd Setliff and Cora Setliff.
She was retired from Burlington Mills and attended Ruffin Stacey Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Brenda Wilkins and Mel Ross, both of Reidsville, N.C., and Sylvia Bryant of Walnut Cove, N.C.; one sister, Pauline Stallings of Danville, Va.; one brother, Richard Setliff of Chesapeake, Va.; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ruffin Stacey Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Tillman and the Rev. Ernest Hutchens officiating. Burial will be in Happy Home Church of Christ Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Wilkerson Funeral Home and at other times at 185 Beaver Lodge Circle, Williamsburg community.
Robert Murphy
PELHAM, N.C. - Robert Murphy, of 1557 Mineral Springs Road, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 1999, in Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born Oct. 10, 1922, in Kinston, N.C., he was the son of James Murphy and Katie Mae Kensey Murphy.
He was married
to Estella Henderson Murphy, who survives.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during World War II. He was a member of Antioch Free Will Baptist Church and was a retired employee of Cone Mills Edna Plant in Reidsville.
In addition to his wife of the residence, survivors include five sons, Archie Henderson of Pelham, Robert Murphy II of Buffalo, N.Y., Robert Murphy III and Randy Murphy, both of Greensboro and Ronnie Murphy of Burlington; five daughters, Theon Withers and Ora Whitehead, both of Reidsville, Elizabeth Parker of Elon College, Zenobia Johnson of Danville, Va. and Lynette Graves of Pelham; and several grandchildren.
A funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Red Hill Baptist Church. Burial will be in church cemetery.
The family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. Wednesday at Fulton Funeral Home and at other times at the residence of his daughter, Theon Wither, on Delaney Road, Reidsville.
Ronnie Smith
REIDSVILLE, N.C. - Ronnie Wade Smith, 43, of 104 Dedes Drive, formerly of Danville, Va., died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C., after a short illness.
He was the son of Berlie Smith, who survives.
In addition to his mother of Danville, survivors include one brother, Taylor Smith of Yanceyville; two sisters, Polly Biggs of Mayodan and Corky Buechler of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.
Ray Funeral Home, 119 North Main Street, Madison, is in charge of arrangements, which are incomplete at this time.
Lucille Martin Mann
STOKESDALE, N.C. - Lucille Martin Mann, 90, of Stokesdale, died Tuesday, September 21 at Country Side Manor in Stokesdale.
Born February 7, 1909 in Damascus, Va., she was the daughter of James B. Martin and Annie Powers Martin.
She was married
to Burford A. Mann, who predeceased her in 1981.
She a member of Shermont Baptist Church.
She is survived by by two sons, Ralph O. Mann and Jimmy A. Mann, both of Danville; two daughters, Linda M. Hyler of Hardy, Va., and Gail M. Fields of Greensboro; two sisters, Opal M. Cook of Bedford, Va., and Nancy M. Hayden of Salt Lake City, Utah; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Along with her husband, she was predeceased by two bothers, Glen B. Martin and Paige Martin; and two sisters, Gay Hurt and Lena Goodman.
The funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Mountain View Cemetery by the Rev. Bill Soyars.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday at Townes Funeral Home.
Mac Coleman
SILER CITY, N.C. - Mac Freddie Coleman, of 604 Alex Watson Road, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 1999, at Chatham Hospital.
He was the son of Lou Emma Coleman, who survives.
He was married
to Mamie James Coleman, who survives.
In addition to his mother of Brooklyn, N.Y., and wife of Burlington, N.C., survivors include five sisters, Arnetha Robinson of Danville, Va., Francine Cummings of Seldon, N.Y., Florence Coleman, Paulette Wilson and Wilhemina James, all of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two brothers, Lee Andrew Coleman-Fulles of Baltimore, and Paul Coleman of Brooklyn, N.Y.
A viewing will be 10 a.m. Friday at Riceville Baptist Church.
A funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Riceville Baptist Church in Danville, Va. Burial will be in church cemetery.

Zachary N. Davis Sr.
GREENSBORO, N.C. - Zachary N. Davis Sr., 74, of 3521 McCuiston Road, died Thursday, Sept. 23, 1999, at his residence after 10 days of serious illness and several years of declining health.
Born Sept. 18, 1925, in Danville, Va., he was the son of Lottie Davis and Dewey Davis Sr.
He was married
to Norma Adams Davis, who predeceased him on May 27, 1997.
He made his home in Greensboro after moving from Danville in 1953. He was a member of In Touch Ministries in Greensboro.
Survivors include two daughters, Joy Carol Maynor and De Ridder Ann Case; two sons, Zachary N. Davis Jr. and Johnny A. Davis of Greensboro; one sister, Lois Jones of Safety Harbor, Fla.; two brothers, Dewey Davis Jr. of Titusville, Fla. and James D. Davis of Richmond, Va.; 16 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at In Touch Ministries, 1036 S. Aycocke St., Greensboro.
The family will receive friends at the residence and at the church following service.
