YORK - Mr. John R. Anderson, age 82 of 2533 Hwy. 161, York, died Monday August 7, 2000 at Beverly Health Care. Funeral services will be held 3:00pm Wednesday (today) August 9, 2000 at Filbert Presbyterian Church in America with Rev. Wallace Tinsley officiating. Interment will follow in the Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family received friends from 7:00pm until 9:00pm Tuesday, August 8, 2000 at Bratton Funeral Home.

Mr. Anderson was born in Wilksboro, NC the son of G. Harold & Sally Anderson. He worked in management for Crest Stores Co. (variety store) and was a member of Filbert Presbyterian Church where he was a deacon, elder, and a member of the Men's Bible Class.

Surviving is his wife Kathryn Stowe Anderson of York, SC.

Memorials may be made to Filbert Presbyterian Church in America Building Fund, 2066 N. Hwy 321, York, SC 29745.

Dorsett, Annie R.
YORK - Mrs. Annie R. Dorsett, 79, of 201 Blackburn St., passed away Sun., Aug. 6, 2000.

Funeral services will be at 3 PM Thurs., Aug. 10, 2000 York Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Dunlap and Rev. Jesse Sims officiating. Burial at Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation 7-9 PM Wed. at York Funeral Home.

Mrs. Dorsett was born in York County, a daughter of the late Sam and Maggie Norman Robinson. She was a homemaker and was a member of Grace Church of the Nazarene in Rock Hill, SC. She was the widow of Robert "Dee Dee" Dorsett.

Survivors include her sons, Robert Dorsett, Johnny Dorsett, Charles Dorsett and Phillip Dorsett, all of York; daughters, Marian Ivey Burbach, Betty Allen, Diane Randall and Vera Wilson, all of York; brothers, Glenn Robinson of York and Sam Junior Robinson of Clover; sisters, Ida Porter of Rock Hill, Willie Neil and Mary West, both of York; 21 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Community Care, 325 South Oakland Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Meek, Nora Allen
YORK - Mrs. Nora Allen Meek, age 87 of 3 Blackburn St., York, died Tuesday, August 8, 2000 at Piedmont Medical Center.

She was born in York County, SC the daughter of Thomas & Nancy Brandon Allen. She was a retired Spinner from Cannon Mills and a member of Temple Presbyterian Church In America. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late David Meek.

Funeral services will be held 3:00pm Thursday August 10, 2000 at Bratton Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Sprinkle officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00pm until 3:00pm Thursday August 10, 2000 at Bratton Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Temple Presbyterian Church In America, Building Fund, PO Box 733, York, SC 29745.

Benton, Daisy M. Woods
The Rev. Daisy M. Woods Benton, of 4726 Hidden Valley Road, entered Heaven's Gates on August 9, 2000, at Carolinas Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on August 14, 2000 at 11:30 a.m., at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Gregory K. Moss officiating. Interment will be in Beatties FOrd Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00-11:30 a.m. on Monday at the Church, and at other times at the home.

Rev. Benton was born April 22, 1944 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Elbert and Amanda Woods. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cassandra Lovett. She is survived by her husband, John Benton; sons, Charles Lovett (Claudette), Antonio Lovett; daughter, Sharon R. Lovett, all of Charlotte, NC; Brothers, David Woods (Betty), Robert Woods (Barbara), Tony Woods, of Charlotte, NC, Paul Woods (Geraldine) and Jerry Woods of Los Angeles, CA; sisters, Bertha Anderson (Gettie), Verda Kelley, Joyce Hooker, Cathy Sloan (Leroy), Doretta Owens Miller (David) of Charlotte, NC and Carolyn Woods of Los Angeles, CA; 3 grandchildren, 3 aunts and a host of nieces and nephews.

Kings Funeral Home, Charlotte, is serving Rev. Benton's family.

Fleming, Noah William
Noah William Fleming, infant son of David and Kimberly Fleming of Charlotte, died Thursday, August 10, 2000 at University Hospital.

Noah's service will be held 4 p.m. this afternoon, Sunday, August 13, at his graveside in Forest Lawn West Cemetery, officiated by Father Bill Fleming, his grandfather. The family will receive friends following the service.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are grandparents, Dr. Ed and Janie Sachs of Dayton, OH, and Bill and Rosanna Fleming and Becky Fleming, all of Detroit, MI; great-grandparents, Robert and Jean Thompson and Kathryn Albers, all of Dayton; two aunts, Karen Friesen and her husband, Jason, and son, Connor, of Chicago, IL and Kristen Sachs of Dayton; and three uncles, William Fleming, JR. and his wife, Laura Sanom, and children, Megan and Emily of Detroit, Gregory Fleming and his wife, Patricia, of Los Angeles, CA, and Bryan Fleming of Cincinnati, OH.

In lieu of flowers, David and Kimberly request that memorials be sent to your favorite children's charity.

Forshaw, Thomas
Thomas Forshaw, Jr., - 85, of Pawleys Island, SC, formerly of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2000. Thomas Forshaw was born on January 30, 1915 in Savannah, GA. He was the youngest of 3 children born to Thomas Forshaw, Sr. and Hester Cockrell Forshaw. He was predeceased by his wife, Bess Cocke Forshaw, his sisters Hester Constantine and Mary Janet Rich, and his grandsons George William Clapp, Jr. and George Thomas Clapp.Mr. Forshaw graduated from Clemson College in 1936 with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He was a Captain in the US Army during World War II. After 15 years of sales with Chapman Chemical of Memphis, TN, he started his own company, Forshaw Chemicals Inc., in 1961. He was a member of Myers Park Country Club and Litchfield Country Club for many years and was active in professional associations throughout his career. Surviving family members include his daughter, Bess C. Forshaw, his son, Thomas Forshaw III and his wife, Meredith, his son James Robert Forshaw and his wife, Loren, all of Charlotte; eight grandchildren, Anne Forshaw Scott and her husband, Paul, Thomas Forshaw IV and his wife, Penny, Susan Forshaw, Betsy Clapp, Nancy Forshaw-Clapp, Melissa Forshaw, James Forshaw Jr., and Daniel Forshaw; and three great-grandsons Thomas Forshaw V, Douglas Scott, and Powell Forshaw as well as an extended family of nieces and nephews.Mr. Forshaw retired to the Litchfield Beach area of Pawleys Island, SC in 1981. In 1996 he returned to the Charlotte area where he resided at the Carriage Club. Since February 2000 he has resided at the Lakes at Litchfield Drive, Litchfield Beach, SC.Mayer Funeral Home, 222 St. James Street, Georgetown, SC (843-546-4184) will be handling the arrangements for the Forshaw family. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday August 15th at All Saints, Waccamaw Episcopal Church in Pawleys Island, SC. The family requests that memorials be made to the charity of your choice.

Hudson, Celestine Hoey

Mrs. Celestine Hoey Hudson, daughter of the late Nathaniel and Jeanette Hoey was born August 13, 1928, and she departed this earthly life July 23, 1999.

Mrs. Hudson was joined in Holy Wedlock to Mr. Curtis L. Hudson.

She retired from Carolina Food Company after 21 years of service. Celestine was a devoted member of the St. Paul Baptist Church with over 50 years of service, and will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

Kraemer, Louise Nanette
Louise Nanette Kraemer, of Charlotte died Friday, August 11, 2000 at the Lawyers Glen Retirement Center. Born March 19, 1910 in Flint, Michigan to the late Allan and Lillian Abram Nadeau she had been a resident of Charlotte since 1994.

A Memorial Mass will be offered at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 14 at St. Luke Catholic Church, 13700 Lawyers Road with the Reverend Joseph Mulligan celebrating the Mass. The family will receive friends from 10:15 a.m. until service time.

Preceded in death by her husband, Frederick C. Kraemer and son Frederick A. Kraemer, Mrs. Kraemer is survived by daughters, Mary Louise Pal and her husband Robert of Charlotte, Eleanor L. Mallchok and her husband Richard of St. Louis, MO, Louise N. Harshaw and her husband Christopher of Mapel Heights, OH; son, Paul J. Kraemer of Orlando, FL; daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Kraemer of Flint, MI; sister, Elizabeth A. Keswick of Santa Monica, CA; 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Contributions may be made to St. Luke Catholic Church Develop Fund, 13700 Lawyers Road, Charlotte, NC 28227 or Hospice at Charlotte, 1420 East 7th St., Charlotte, NC 28204.

Carolina Funeral and Cremation is entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. John W. McNeil, died August 12, 2000. Arrangements are incomplete at Grier funeral service.

Mrs. Audria M. Sloan, died August 12, 2000 at home. Arrangements are incomplete at Grier funeral service.

Stewart, `Rudy' Ray
`Rudy' Ray Stewart, 52, of Charlotte, died Friday, August 11, 2000 at his home. A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 15, 2000 at The Church of Jesus Christ with the Rev. Benny Cline and the Rev. Earl Hunt officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn West Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Hankins and Whittington funeral service.

A native of Charlotte, Rudy was born June 16, 1948 the son of the late Rudolph R. Stewart, Sr. and the late Trudy Hobbs Stewart. He was a Director at the McLeod Center and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ. He was also an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman.

Survivors include two sons, Rudy Stewart, III, of Monroe and Randy James Stewart of Largo, FL; one granddaughter, Lacey J. Stewart of Largo, FL; his sister Judy Hunt and husband, Junior of Charlotte; niece, Tammy Swan and husband, Tim, and their son Tyler all of Mooresville; as well as many wonderful friends.

Memorials may be made to The Church of Jesus Christ, 600 E. 36th St., Charlotte, NC 28205.

ALBEMARLE - Mr. Joe Richard Burleson, 74, died Friday, August 11, 2000. Funeral is 2 p.m. today at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel. Visitation was Saturday from 7-9 p.m.

Young, Frank
BELMONT - Mr. Frank Young, 69, of 208 Woodrow Avenue, Belmont NC died August 9th, 2000 at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 14th at 2:00 p.m. in Belmont Abbey Cathedral. Visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at Sharon memorial Cemetery in Charlotte. Family Mortuary is entrusted with the arrangements.

Driggers, Robert L. `Bobby'
CHERAW - Robert L. `Bobby' Driggers, Sr., 67, died Saturday, August 12, 2000 in Cheraw, SC. Born in Bennettsville, SC he was a son of the late Robert James and Della Driggers. Mr. Driggers was a member of Brock's Mill Baptist Church. He was a US Navy Veteran. He had worked for S.C. Electric and Gas.

Surviving are brother, George T. `Bill' Driggers of Bennettsville, SC; sisters, Annie D. Dunn of Bennettsville, SC and Marie Polston also of Bennettsville; friend, Lenora Lewis of Cheraw, SC; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7pm to 9pm Sunday, August 13, 2000 at Kiser Funeral Home, Cheraw, SC.

Funeral services will be announced by Kiser Funeral Home.

Maholick, Maryann Bittner
CLOVER - Mrs. Maryann Bittner Maholick, 63, died Friday, August 11, 2000. Funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 14, at Divine Saviour Catholic Church, York. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. tonight at Bratton Funeral Home.
