Miller, Betty Carpenter
Mrs. Betty Carpenter Miller, 75, of Charlotte, NC, died peacefully at her home early Sunday, January 28, 2001.

She was born January 6, 1926 in Gastonia, daughter of the late Gus and Ethel Carpenter.

Mrs. Miller was a retired employee of First Union National Bank and an avid bridge player. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Mrs. Miller is survived by two sons, Jim Miller and wife, Laura of Mooresville, NC and Chuck Miller and wife Debbie, of Indian Trail, NC and four `Perfect' grandchildren, Bobby, Abbey, Tommy and David Miller.

Funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2001 at Providence Baptist Church, Burial will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Gaston Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6:30-8:30 p.m., Tuesday at Harry & Bryant Company, 500 Providence Road.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to Hospice at Charlotte, 1421 East Seventh Street, Charlotte, NC 28204 or the Providence Baptist Church Youth Program, 4921 Randolph Road, Charlotte, NC 28211. Harry & Bryant Company is serving the family of Mrs. Miller.

Miller, Mary K.
Mrs. Mary K. Miller, 77, died Saturday evening, January 27, 2001 at Presbyterian `Main' Hospital. funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2001 at McEwen funeral service, Charlotte CHapel. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday evening from 6:30 to 8;30 p.. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Miller was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #380, Lafems #793 Eastern Star Eastgate Lodge, Mizpah Chapter #36 Excelsior Lodge, Mecklenburg Shrine Club, and Hickory GroveBaptist Church.

Mrs. Miller is survived by son, Michael E. Miller and his wife, Leslie of Ft. Mill, SC; step-son, James E. Miller and his wife, Betty of Charlotte; daughter, Susan M. Webber and her husband, David of Lake Wylie; nine grandchildren; brother, John Kiriakos; and half-brother, Ray Black. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Christine (Bailey) Kiriakos; husband, James R. Miller; brother, Rony Kiriakos; sister, Helen Osborne; and half-sister, Ruth Black.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association, 1300 Baxter St., Ste, 101, Charlotte, NC 28204; or American Diabetes Association, 1820 E. 7th St., Charlotte, NC 28204.

Arrangements are by McEwen Funeral and Cremation Service, Charlotte Chapel.

Minter, Etra
Mrs. Etra Minter, a native of Chester County, South Carolina died on Thursday, January 26, 2001 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 30, at 12:00 noon at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 3201 Tuckageege Road, Charlotte, with Pastor Casey Kimbrough, officiating. Interment will follow at York Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 11:30 p.m. until time for the service. Mrs. Minter is survived by her son, Alexander Minter, three brothers: Lenard Latimer and wife, Coretha, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Joseph Latimer, and wife, Jane of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Gordon Latimer, Jr., and wife, Juanita, of Denver, North Carolina, other relatives and friends. King's Funeral Home, Charlotte is serving the family.

Vinson, Nancy Jane Miller
Nancy Jane Miller Vinson, born July 23, 1924 in Union County, North Carolina to the late Tossie and Plyer Miller departed this life and stepped into glory on January 26, 2001.

Nancy was a committed member of Marvin A.M.E. Zion Church in Waxhaw, North Carolina until her death.

Nancy leaves to cherish fond memories four children, Thomas `Billy' Vinson (Evelyn), Donnie D. Vinson, Peggy V. Stinson, and Barbara V. Davis; two sisters, Meacy M. Jackson, and Mildred `Sug' Keiser (Clayton); one brother, James E. Miller. One sister and brother, Luida and Bozzy Miller preceded her in death. She also leaves to cherish fond memories ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and a multitude of friends.

The funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Marvin A.M.E. Zion Church, Waxhaw, NC, with the Rev. Henrico White officiating. Burial will be in Marvin Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. tonight, January 29, 2001 at Marvin A.M.E. Zion Church.

funeral service will be on Tuesday, January 30, 2001-3:00 p.m. at Mt. olive Baptist Church, Huntersville, NC. Rev. Byron L. Davis, officiating minister. Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Interment will be at the Miranda Church Cemetery, Huntersville, NC.

Williams, Infant Tasha Marie
Infant Tasha Marie Williams, 21 month old, died January 28, 2001 at Carolinas Medical Center.

Tasha had made many friends and touched the lives of many during her short life.

A service for the angels will be held 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2001 from the Pineville Chapel of McEwen funeral service, 10500 Park Road, with the Reverend Walter Dennis, Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Dept. Chaplain, officiating. Committal will follow in Sharon Memorial Park Center. Friends may call on the Williams family from 2:30 until the funeral hour at the Pineville Chapel.

Tasha is survived by her parents: Paul and Tina Williams of Charlotte; two brothers, Darek Paul Williams and Davin Alexander Williams; maternal grandmother, Cheryl An Wade of IL; paternal grandmother, Elvira Aleman of TX; paternal grandfather, LA; great-grandmother, Shirley Gaughan of VA; great-grandmother, Carnie Stewart and great-great-grandmother, Maria Burgian of TX; four uncles and two aunts.

Memorials may be made in remembrance of Miss Tasha Marie Williams to The Children's Miracle Network, 1618 Scott Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28203.

Arrangements are by McEwen Funeral and Cremation Service, Pineville Chapel.

Blalock, Myrtle Russell
ALBEMARLE - Mrs. Myrtle Russell Blalock, 89, died January 27, 2001. Funeral is 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Stanly Memorial Chapel. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. tonight at Stanly Funeral Home.

Strider, Wilson
ASHEBORO - Mr. Wilson Strider, 87, died January 27, 2001. Funeral is 2 p.m. Tuesday at Brower's Wesleyan Church. Visitation is 6-9 p.m. tonight at Ridge Funeral Home.

Small, Donald Glenn
CASSATT - Mr. Donald Glenn Small, 54, of 2284 Hwy. 1 North, Cassatt, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2001 at the Palmetto Baptist Medical Center in Columbia. He was born October 3, 1946 in Camden a son of Mrs. Ruby Dease Small and the late Ira Small. He attended Mt. Hebron Free Will Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 30, 2001 at 3:00 p.m. from the Mt. Hebron Free IWll Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Cobb, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hebron Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Small is survived by his wife, Mrs. Betty Hopkins Small; three sons, Mr. J. Allen Small, Mr. Ronald L. Small, Mr. Donald G. Small, Jr. all of Cassatt; one daughter, Miss Wanda R. Alexander of Cassatt; three brothers, Mr. Olin Small of Bethune, Mr. Paul Wayne Small of Mayo, SC, MR. J. Howard Small of Charlotte, NC; five sisters, Mrs. Carl (Virginia) Anderson of Camden, Miss Pauline Baker of Kershaw, Mrs. Bobby (Margaret Stevens of Bishopville, Mrs. James (Lynn) McCoy of Cassatt, Miss Sherry Bailey of Asheville, NC, and nine grandchildren.

Memorial gifts may be made to American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemarke Lane, Westpark Plaza, Columbia, SC 29210.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 29, 2001 at the Cauthen Funeral Home, Kershaw Chapel and other times at the home.

Richard, James Morris `Jim'
STANLEY - Mr. James Morris `Jim' Richard, 66, died January 27, 2001. Funeral is 2 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church. Visitation is 6-9 p.m. tonight at Carothers Funeral Home in Stanley.

Shull, Winston Smith
SHELBY - Mrs. Winston Smith Shull, 69, died Saturday, January 27, 2001. Memorial service is 11 a.m. Monday at Central United Methodist Church. Visitation is 3-5 p.m. at the home of the daughter, Marywinn Amaya, 610 Schenck St., Shelby.

Ritch, Danny
SHELBY - Danny Ritch, 54, died January 27, 2001. He was the pastor of Providence Baptist Church, Kings Mountain and he also worked for White Oak Manor, Shelby. She was the husband of Sandra Hammel Ritch and the son of the late Billy Daniel Ritch, Sr and Stella Beatrice Bost Ritch.

She is survived by his son, Marcus Tirch of Hammond, LA; son & daughter-in-law, Shawn & Leslie Ritch of Calabash, NC, son, David McClelland of Ft. Pierce, FL; daughters, Connie Ritch of Hammond, LA, Ursula & husband Larry Bundrum of Saucier, MS, Melissa & husband, Jimmy Deal of Shelby; brothers, Samuel Ritch of Sanford and Keith Ritch of Gastonia; sisters, Jackie Robinson of Clover, SC, Rebecca Whitted of Gastonia, Claudia Allen of Dallas, Jamie Snyder of Cherryville and Kelly Ritch of Lexington, KY; and 10 grandchildren.

He was a graduate of Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute, member of Providence Baptist Church in Kings Mountain, also a church planter of the NC Baptist Association.

He was a veteran of the US Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict.

Funeral will be e 2 p.m. Tuesday at Friendly Chapel Baptist Church. Viewing will be from 1:30-2 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Friendly Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be in Stamey Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. tonight. The Rev. Wade Boone will officiate the funeral.

Dover, Myrtle Hoppes
SHELBY - Mrs. Myrtle Hoppes Dover, 97, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001. Funeral is 2 p.m. Tuesday at Zoar Baptist Church. Visitation is 7-8:30 p.m. Monday at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.

Morrow, Thomas Gordon
RUTHERFORDTON - Mr. Thomas Gordon Morrow, 83, died Friday, Jan. 26, 2001. Funeral is 2 p.m. Tuesday at Second Baptist of Rutherfordton. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Monday at McMahan's Funeral Home, Inc.

Reinhardt, Hazel Thomas
PAGELAND - Mrs. Hazel Thomas Reinhardt, of Pageland, SC, formerly of Monroe, NC, died Saturday (January 27, 2001), at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday (January 30, 2001) at Davis Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park.

Mrs. Reinhardt was a homemaker. She was born in Hall County, GA, the daughter of the late William Sanford and Lillie Loggins Thomas. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Inez Winchester and Shirley Thomas and two brothers, Clifton Thomas and Cohen Thomas.

Survivors include her husband, Lawrence William Reinhardt of Pageland; three brothers, Willis Thomas of Indian Trail, NC, Weldon Thomas of Midland, NC, and Conway Thomas of Marshville, NC.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday night at Davis Funeral Home, 1003 East Franklin Street, Monroe, NC.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Chesterfield County, PO Box 293, Chesterfield, SC 29709.
