Gilmore, Alyssa Maria "Alle"
Miss Alyssa Maria "Alle" Gilmore, age 11 of Pineville, continued on her journey, January 26, 2001. A celebration of her life will be held at Pineville Park Under The Shelter in Pineville, N.C. Saturday, February 3, 2001 at 1:00 PM. In case of inclimate weather, the family will be at Hawthorne Suites, near the Ihop in Pineville.

Born May 6, 1989 in Wheeling, WV, Alyssa was a member of The Lord's Armory in Ft. Mill, SC and sang for the Children's Choir at Stough Memorial Baptist Church. Alyssa's sweet smile touched the lives of many. She will be greatly missed by her parents, Don & Maria Gilmore; grandparents, Donnie, Susan, Phyllis & Nancy; great-grandparents, Peggy, Sarah, & Jean; godparents, Darrell, Lathornya & Sharon; Smith Middle & Bruns Avenue Schools; many friends far and near, but especially Nicole, Kayla and Bella.

We are blessed to have touched an angel.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alyssa Gilmore Fund, Stough Memorial Baptist Church, 705 Lakeview Drive, Pineville, NC 28134.

Harris, Goldie Mae
Mrs. Goldie Mae Harris, 82 of Charlotte, passed away January 27, 2001 at Carolinas Medical Center.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 31, 2001 at 1 PM at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church 1135 Redbud Street. Visitation will be held from 12 PM to 1 PM at the church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Clifford Harris. She is survived by her daughters, Mrs. Viola Tate (Waymon), Mrs. B. H. Watson, Ms. Blanche Harris, Ms. Beverly Ann Harris and Ms. F. Chaney; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Family Mortuary is entrusted with the arrangements.

Hartgrove, William P.
William P. Hartgrove, of 10425 Harrisburg Road, Charlotte, N.C. died Jan. 29, 2001 at his residence. Funeral services are incomplete. Johnson funeral service is in charge of arrangements.

Henley, Infant Talia Alexis
Infant Talia Alexis Henley, of Charlotte, N.C., died Jan. 27, 2001 at Carolinas Medical Center. Funeral services are incomplete. Long & Son Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Hunter, Kathryn Morris
Mrs. Kathryn Morris Hunter, 83, of Charlotte, died January 28, 2001, at Presbyterian Hospital.

Mrs. Hunter was born June 12, 1917 in Union County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Lester Wallace Morris and Carrie Fincher Morris. she was a member of Plaza Presbyterian Church where she had been very active in various socials and circles.

A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Hunter will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2001 from the Derita Chapel of McEwen funeral service, 6300 Mallard Creek Road, with The Reverend Marti Halliburton officiating. Committal will follow in Sharon Memorial Park.

Mrs. Hunter is survived by her two sons, Larry Cox and his wife, Gayle of Weddington; Ken Cox and his wife, Rose Cox of Matthews; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; six sisters, Sarah Smith, Margaret Harkey, Virginia Caldwell, Mary Cox, Wallace Killough and Kerry Bailey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rawlin C. Hunter.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in remembrance of Mrs. Kathryn Morris Hunter to The American Heart Association, 1300 Baxter Street, Charlotte, NC 28204. Arrangements are by McEwen Funeral and Cremation Service, Derita Chapel.

Maxie Handle Withers
Mr. Maxie Handle Withers Jr., 29, of 1308 Camp Greene St. died Jan. 29, 2001. Arrangements are incomplete. Alexander Funeral Home is in charge.

Keeter, Van (Pete) Albrey
Mr. Van (Pete) Albrey Keeter 45, died Sunday, January 28, 2001 at Presbyterian Hospital after a long illness.

Mr. Keeter was born July 8, 1955 to the late Albrey and Jettie Keeter. He worked with UPS for 14 years and had also been employed with Blue Max Trucking for a number of years. He was most recently employed by British Petroleum as a customer sales representative.

An avid fisherman, bowler and nature lover, Mr. Keeter especially enjoyed the beach and mountains. He was first and foremost the best father anyone could be. His pride and joy was his daughter. He was a kind, sweet and gentle man who will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his daughter, Suzanne Marie Keeter of Charlotte; one sister, Jennie Vee Holbrook also of Charlotte; and a brother, Paul Keeter of Rockingham.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, January 31 in the Hankins & Whittington Dilworth Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service. The family will also receive friends from 6-8pm Tuesday, January 30 at the home of his sister, 340 Orchard Circle.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Suzanne Keeter, 340 Orchard Cir., Charlotte, NC 28217.

Arrangements are in the care of Hankins & Whittington, Dilworth Chapel, 1111 East Blvd.

McSpadden, Linda Ann
Linda Ann McSpadden, 42, Charlotte, NC, died peacefully at home on Sunday, January 28, 2001.

Ann was born May 25, 1958 in Charlotte, NC. She was the daughter of Frank Welton and Joyce Kee McSpadden and attended Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. She graduated from St. Mary's College in Raleigh, NC where she was vice president of student body and from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1980 where she was a Whitaker Scholar and a resident advisor. She was active in the Charlotte Central YMCA swim program, participating in many regional swimming events and AAU competition. As a teenager she coached the swim team and taught swimming at Myers Park Country Club. Ann was a volunteer at Carolinas Medical Center, Dorothea Dix Hospital in Raleigh, and the Burn Center at NC Memorial Hospital.

In 1981 Ann began a career in radio and television with Jefferson Pilot Broadcasting Company and later with WSOC FM in Charlotte. She loved her work in the industry and continued as an account executive with WFSB TV (CBS) in Hartford, CT where she won a national Emmy nomination for the Pepsi public service campaign, `Get Down to Earth' in 1992. She received the Broadcasting Promotion and Marketing Executive (BPME) International Gold medallion and various regional Emmy awards. Ann became director of sales and marketing for The Bushnell, Hartford's performing arts center, in 1992. At the time of her illness she was a manager for Bed Bath and Beyond. Ann was also a volunteer in the 2000 US Census.

Ann was known for her enthusiasm and creativity. She was loyal and dedicated not only to her family and friends, but also to her business associates who often became lifelong friends. Her wonderful smile will be missed by all who knew her.

Ann will be remembered as a loving and caring daughter and sister and a devoted aunt, niece, and cousin. Besides her parents, survivors include twin sisters, Kathryn Kee Frost and her husband, Robert Andrew Frost, D.M.D., M.S. of St. Louis, MO and Karen Kee Oliver and her husband, Marquam Riddell Oliver, M.D. of Salt Lake City, UT: beloved nephews and niece, Charles Wheeler and Wyatt Andrew Frost, Samuel Augustus and Kelsey Kee Oliver; aunts and uncles including Linda Kee and William Benjamine Hawfield of Charlotte; and cousins including Lindsay Kee Hawfield of Alexandria, VA and Amy Hawfield and William James Watson of Raleigh, NC.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. James F. Boyd and the dedicated nurses and staff at Oncology Specialists of Charlotte, P.A. and at Hospice of Charlotte.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2001 at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 1000 East Morehead St., Charlotte, NC with the Reverend Dr. Guy D. Griffith officiating. The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall following the service.

Grateful for the opportunity St. Mary's School gave Ann at an important time in her life, the family request that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to St. Mary's School, Scholarship Endowment, 900 Hillsborough St., Raleigh, NC 27603.

Mosher, William George
Mr. William George Mosher 83, of Charlotte, died January 27, 2001 at Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte. A memorial service will be held 2 PM Saturday, February 3 at Idlewild AR Presbyterian Church, 7619 Idlewild Road. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church. Survivors include his wife, Betty Mosher and his children. Memorials may be made to Idlewild AR Presbyterian Church Building Fund. Arrangements are in the care of Heritage Funeral Home.

Pham, Tu Van
Mr. Tu Van Pham, 48, died Sunday, January 28, 2001 at Carolinas Medical Center.

Mr. Pham was born April 5, 1952 in Vietnam and has resided in the US since 1982. He was employed with Lakebrook Corporation and was a member of St. Joseph's Vietnamese Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Chi Hang Nguyen; and six children, Nam Pham, Luan Vu, Hong Hanh Pham, Hong Yen Pham, Tuyet Mai Pham, and Hong Tham Pham.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 31 at St. Joseph's Vietnamese Catholic Church, 4929 Sandy Porter Road, by the Reverend Tan Van Le. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 PM Tuesday, January 30 at Hankins & Whittington Dilworth Chapel.

Arrangements are in the care of Hankins & Whittington, Dilworth Chapel, 1111 East Blvd.

Plummer, Robert Zeph
Mr. Robert Zeph Plummer 73, of Charlotte, died Monday, January 29, 2001 at his residence.

He was born April 24, 1927 in Charlotte to John L. and Lillie Chick Plummer. He was self employed and served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Wednesday, January 31, 2001 at Harry & Bryant Chapel in the Oaks, 500 Providence Road with Pastor William S. Helms officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 30, 2001 at Harry & Bryant Chapel from 7:00-8:30pm.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Baucom Plummer; four daughters, Donna Martin and her husband, William of Charlotte, Mary Anne Plummer Garvin and her husband, Richard of Charlotte, NC, Carol Helms of Monroe, NC and Bobbie Jo McWilliams of Charlotte; his brothers, Fred Plummer of Charlotte and Charles Plummer of St. Petersburg, FL; his sister, Violet Cochrane of Stanfield, NC; his grandchildren, Billy Martin, James Martin, Shaun Martin and Mary Catherine Martin, Jeremiah Plummer, Beth Plummer and Emily Jane Plummer, Steve Gulledge II, Heather Helms and Jackie McWilliams.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren and Ulysses Coleman and Honorary pallbearers, Justin Sychla, Mike Hedspeth, Sandy Smith, Valorie Hill and Felica Lindler.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice at Presbyterian Hospital, 200 Hawthorne Lane, Charlotte, NC 28207.

Price, W. Porter
W. Porter Price, Jr., O.D., 82, of Southminster Retirement Community, Charlotte, NC died Sunday, January 28, 2001.

Services for Dr. Price will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 30, 2001 at Harry & Bryant Chapel in the Oaks, 500 Providence Road. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Dr. Price was the son of the late William P. Price, Sr., and Susie Martin Price, of Ozark, Alabama. Dr. Price was a graudate of the Illinois College of Optometry. Following graduation he entered the U.S. Army to develope visual testing programs to train anti-aircraft operators. Dr. Price served with the Medical Corps in both the European and Pacific Theaters. Dr. Price practiced Optometry for 50 years in Charlotte before retiring to spend more time at Sunset Beach, NC. He was a long-time member of Myers Park Baptist Church where he taught eighth grade Sunday School and served as both Cubmaster and Scoutmaster for many years.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Ann Flowers Price; son, William Porter Price, III and daughter-in-law, Ann Moorman Price, of Columbia, SC; daughter, Winn Price Sams, of Spartanburg, SC; six granddaughters; a sister, Dorothy Price Mullins, of Ozark, Alabama; brothers, Edward Martin Price, of Pinckard, Alabama, Wyatt Glenn Price and John Sansbury Price both of Montgomery, Alabama. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Mitchell Price.

Memorials may be made to Hospice at Charlotte, 1420 East Seventh Street, Charlotte, NC 28204 or Myers Park Baptist Church Living Center Endowment Fund, PO Box 6006, Charlotte, NC 28207. Harry & Bryant Company is serving the family of Dr. Price.

Toney, Joseph P.
Mr. Joseph P. Toney age 80 of 6049-A Williams Road, Charlotte, died January 29, 2001 at his residence. Arrangements are incomplete. Long & Son Mortuary is serving the family.

Warren, Henry
Mr. Henry Warren age 93 of 618 Village Court, Charlotte, NC died Sunday January 28, 2001 at Northeast Medical Center in Concord, NC. Arrangements are incomplete. Alexander Funeral Home is serving the family.

Williams, Infant Tasha Marie
Infant Tasha Marie Williams, 21 months old, died January 28, 2001 at Carolinas Medical Center.

Tasha had made many friends and touched the lives of many during her short life.

A service for the angels will be held 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2001 from the Pineville Chapel of McEwen funeral service, 10500 Park Road, with the Reverend Walter Dennis, Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Dept. Chaplain, officiating. Committal will follow in Sharon Memorial Park Cemtery. Friends may call on the Williams family from 2:30 until the funeral hour at the Pineville Chapel.

Tasha is survived by her parents: Paul and Tina Williams of Charlotte; two brothers, Darek Paul Williams and Davin Alexander Williams; maternal grandmother, Cheryl Ann Wade of IL; paternal grandmother, Elvira Aleman of TX; paternal grandfather, Octave Williams of LA; great-grandmother, Shirley Gaughan of VA; great-great-grandmother, Carnie Stewart and great-grandmother, Maria Burgian of TX; four uncles and two aunts.

Memorials may be made in remembrance of Miss Tasha Marie Williams to The Children's Miracle Network, 1618 Scott Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28203.

Arrangements are by McEwen Funeral and Cremation Service, Pineville Chapel.
