KANNAPOLIS - Monroe (Slim) O'Neal, 65, died January 29, 2001 at NorthEast Medical Center. Funeral is 2pm Thursday at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation is from 7 to 9pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Allen, Ronald Lee
KERSHAW - Mr. Ronald Lee Allen, 60, of 3511 Old Georgetown Road, Kershaw, passed away Monday, January 29, 2001 at the Richmond Memorial Hospital in Columbia. He was born October 8, 1940 in Okemos, Michigan. A U.S. Marine Corp retiree, Mr. Allen was a charter member of the Freedom Outreach Church where he was member of the support team. He was employed at Southland.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 31, 2001 at 2:00 PM from the Cauthen Funeral Home, Kershaw Chapel by the Rev. Trent McLaughlin. Burial will be in the Refuge Baptist Church Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
Mr. Allen is survived by his wife, Mrs. Wylene Reynolds Allen; two sons, Mr. Ronald Allen, Jr. of Plano, Illinois and Mr. Brian K. Baker of Cassatt; two daughters, Mrs. Joe (Laura) West of Pageland and Miss Teresa Allen of Jacksonville, NC; a sister, Mrs. Harold (Maxine) Meyers of Charlotte, Michigan; and six grandchildren.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Freedom Outreach, Building Fund, 1113 Highway #1, North, Cassatt, SC 29032.
The family will receive friends at the home, 3511 Old Georgetown Road, Kershaw.

KERSHAW - Mrs. Nell Gay Reeves, 79, of 601 West Church St. died Jan. 29, 2001.
Graveside service is 11 a.m. Wednesday at Kershaw City Cemetery with Rev. Bryant D. Fesner Jr. officiating.
Mrs. Reeves was born Feb. 5, 1921 in Kershaw, a daughter of the late Thomas Jack Gay Sr. and Cora Gay. She was married to the late W.L. Reeves and was employed as a seamstress. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sons, Mr. Ronnie Reeves of Kershaw; one daughter, Mrs. Betty R. Seegars of Kershaw; one brother, Mr. Robbie Gay of Cayce; one sister, Mrs. Mary G. Sowell of Columbia; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, 210 North Matson St., Kershaw, SC 29067; or to the charity of the donor's choice.

LINCOLNTON - Mr. Claude "Skip" Cole, 52, of 1346 Timberlake Ln. died Jan. 29, 2001.

Mr. Cole was born April 1, 1948 in Fulton Co., GA. He was the former owner/operator of Ole King Cole Bakery. He was preceded in death by his father, Claude Ernest Cole Jr.
Survivors include his son, Wes Cole of Mt. Holly; one daughter, Claudia Cole Rhodes of Lincolnton; mother, Zelma Cole of Lincolnton; three grandchildren, Heath Cole, Jordan Cole, and Ashley Griffin.

MONROE - Mrs. Margaret Lucille Adams, age 69, of Monroe, died Monday (January 29, 2001) at Union Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday (February 1, 2001) at Davis Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Reverend Joe Stroud, Reverend Lee Davis. Interment will follow at Unity Cemetery, Fort Mill, SC.
Mrs. Adams was born in York County, SC on December 27, 1931, a daughter of the late General Taten and Martha Ellen Brown Sisk. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include three daughters, Patsy Adams Smith and Martha Jane Adams Jordan both of Marshville, and Tonda Adams Giles of Ft. Mill; three sons, James Enoch Adams, John Alan Adams, and Charles Edward Adams, all of Monroe; a sister, Lois Sisk Price of Rock Hill. There are 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

MONROE - Mrs. Tina Carroll Baucom, age 49, of Monroe, died Monday, January 29, 2001 at Union Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 AM, Thursday, February 1, 2001 at Memorial United Methodist Church, officiated by Reverend Mike McClellan. Interment will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park.
Mrs. Baucom was born in Monroe, on July 25, 1951, daughter of Lois Thompson Carroll and the late Wallace Alexander Carroll, Sr. She was a computer operator at Yale Norton. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Wally Carroll.
Survivors include her husband, Shelly Baucom of Monroe; her mother, Lois T. Carroll of Monroe; two brothers, Johnny Carroll and Billy Carroll, both of Monroe; two goddaughters, Danielle Carlton and Olivia Carroll; and numerous nieces & nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 PM Wednesday night at Davis Funeral Home of Monroe, 1003 East Franklin Street.

Mr. Bivens was born November 27, 1933 in Union Co., NC, to the late Douglas Donald Bivens and Lottie Williams Bivens. He was a US Navy veteran. He was a Draftman with Allie Bendix, Charlotte, NC.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Stevens Bivens, of the home; 3 daughters, Laura Morgan of Stanfield, Terry Cannon and Carrie Ann Bivens, both of Charlotte; and two grandchildren, Michael Morgan and Katherine Eudy.
