ROCK HILL - Mr. Eurman `Buzzy' Alfred Dyches, Jr., 73, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2001. Arrangements will be announced by Greene Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel.

Hancock, Daisey Hood
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Daisey Hood Hancock, 87, died Sunday, February 4, 2001. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with Interment in Laurelwood Cemetery. Dr. Steve Hogg will officiate.

She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Hood. Mrs. Hancock was a member of First Baptist Church for nearly 70 years and taught Sunday School fro 30 years. She and her husband was the owner/operator of the canteen at Highland Park Mills and the Hancock Superette on White Street. Mrs. Hancock was active in the Meals on Wheels Program for years. Mrs. Hancock was preceded in death by her husband, James `Horace' Hancock, Sr. Mrs. Hancock is survived by her three sons, James `Jim" Hancock, Jr. and his wife Linda of Raleigh, NC, Guy Hancock and his wife Magie of Charleston, SC and Bill Hancock and his wife Terry of Pilot Mountain, NC; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight, February 5, 2001 at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel from 7-8:30 p.m. and at other times at the home 118 N. Stonewall St., Rock Hill, SC.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 215 Main St., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

Greene Funeral Home Downtown is in charge of arrangements.

McCoy, Elver Green
ROCK HILL - Mrs. Elver Green McCoy, 98, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2001. Graveside service is 2 p.m. Tuesday at Laurelwood Cemetery. Visitation is 4-5:30 tonight at Greene Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel.

Crosland, George
ROCKINGHAM - Mr. George Crosland, Jr., 64, died Friday, February 2, 2001 at Sandhills Regional Medical Center. Funeral is 1 p.m. Tuesday at Prayer & Faith Temple GOGIC, Hamlet, NC. Nelson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Crain, Ruby McEntire
RUTHERFORDTON - Mrs. Ruby McEntire Crain, 85, died Sunday. Funeral is 4 p.m. Tuesday, February 6, 2001 at Shingle Hollow Congregational Holiness Church. Visitation is 6:30-8:30 p.m. tonight at McMahan's Funeral Home.

Yates, Madolyn McIntire
SALISBURY - Madolyn McIntire Yates, 53, died February 3, 2001. Funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday at Neel Road Baptist Church. Visitation is 7-8:30 p.m. Monday at Lyerly Funeral Home.

Dodge, Kent
SEVEN LAKES - Kent Dodge, 64, died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the West End Presbyterian Church. Boles Funeral Home & Crematory of Seven Lakes are serving the family.

Ledford, Rosa Owens
SHELBY - Mrs. Rosa Owens Ledford, 81, died Feb. 4, 2001. Funeral is 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bethany Baptist Church, Grover, NC. Visitation is 6:30-8:30 p.m. tonight at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.

Clifton, Hugh Clayton
SPENCER - Mr. Hugh Clayton Clifton, Sr., 70, died February 4, 2001. Memorial service is 2 p.m. Tuesday at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home, Galax, VA. Summersett Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ivester, Yates Webb
ST. LOUIS, MO. - Mr. Yates Webb Ivester, age 88 of 1282 Chateau Woods Drive, St. Louis, Missouri, widower of Florie McElduff Ivester, died Saturday, February 3rd at his residence.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon Wednesday at Catholic Presbyterian Church, Richburg, S.C. with Rev. Tony Medlin officiating. Interment at the church cemetery.

Mr. Ivester was born August 27, 1912 in Cleveland, N.C., son of the late Esper A. Ivester and Amanda (Queen) Ivester. He retired from UniRoyal.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Bud (Betty Jean) Sanders of St. Louis, MO; 3 grandchildren, Andre'e Sanders, Yates Sanders and Ivan Sanders; 5 great grandchildren, Julian, Yates Harrison, Megan, Elizabeth & Benjamin.

Memorials may be made to Mt. Dearborn United Methodist Church, PO Box 246, Great Falls, SC 29055.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM until 12:00 Noon Wednesday at Catholic Presbyterian Church, Richburg, SC.

Hall, Joyce Morrow
STATESVILLE - Joyce Morrow Hall, 68, of 1204 Fulton Drive, Statesville, died Friday, February 2, 2001, at her resident following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Born November 13, 1932, in Statesville, she was the daughter of the late Ray Morrow and Irene Benfield Morrow. She was a member of Oakland Presbyterian Church, where she was a former choir member and also served as an elder. She was employed with Hunt Corporation from December 9, 1957 to February 28, 1995, when she retired. While at Hunt she published a monthly newsletter `Hunt Pennant, ' collected employee recipes, typed and printed the `Hunt Cookbook" and organized the annual Hunt Art Show. She was a charter member of the Merry Makers Canasta Club (1953) and Llederi Chapter A.B.W.A. (1969). The name `Llederi" was submitted by Joyce. It is Iredell spelled in reverse. At Speedball Art inc. she conducted Product Demonstrations for employees, block printing, silk screen and calligraphy. She also taught calligraphy at Mitchell Community College during 1990 and was a member of the Statesville Artist Guild from 1971 to 1976. She was chosen to represent Statesville in the 1950 Carousel Parade in Charlotte. She was a 1951 graduate of Statesville Senior High School.

Joyce is survived by a son, Terry Hall of Charlotte, a daughter, Vicki H. Hornbuckle and husband, Joe, of Statesville; two granddaughters, Haley Elizabeth Hornbuckle and Kelly Lynne Hornbuckle, both of Statesville; two sisters, Phyllis M. McKinnell of Cornelius and Helen M. Fraver, of Troutman; and one brother, Hubert Morrow of Banner Elk.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 5, 2001 at Oakland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Steve Snipes officiating. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery will follow at a later date. the family received friends at Nicholson Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon.

Memorials may be made to Oakland Presbyterian Church, PO Box 5362, Statesville, NC 28687, or to Hospice of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28626. Nicholson Funeral Home is serving the family of Joyce Morrow Hall.

STONY POINT - Mrs. Florence Helen Bennett Johnson, 77, died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001. Memorial service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Stony Point Baptist Church. Visitation is 7-9 p.m. tonight at Lindsey Hall Fellowship Hall.

TAYLORSVILLE - Mrs. Lucille Fox Jenkins, 79, died February 2, 2001. Funeral was 4 p.m. Sunday at Liledown Baptist Church. Chapman Funeral Home is in charge.

Matlock, Marvin A.
TAYLORSVILLE - Mr. Marvin A. Matlock, 64, died February 3, 2001. Funeral is 11 a.m. Monday at Chapman Funeral Home Chapel, Stony Point. Chapman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Morris, Mildred Caldwell
TAYLORSVILLE - Mildred Caldwell Morris, 75, died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001. Graveside service is 1 p.m. Monday in the Cemetery of Antioch Baptist Church. Alexander funeral service, of Taylorsville, is in charge of arrangements.

Gumaer, Russell J.
WAXHAW - Mr. Russell J. Gumaer, 83, died Sunday, February 4, 2001. Funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday at the McEwen Colonial Chapel in Monroe. Visitation is 10 a.m.-11 a.m. Tuesday at the McEwen Funeral Home in Monroe.

Eatman, Robert "Bobby" Michael
Mr. Robert "Bobby" Michael Eatman, age 20, of 5608 Mt. Olive Church Rd., Charlotte, NC died Sunday morning at NorthEast Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held 8 PM, Wednesday, February 8, 2001 at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Randy Clipp officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:30-8:00 PM at Wilkinson Funeral Home.

Mr. Eatman was born December 30, 1980 in Charlotte, NC, son of Darrin A. Eatman of Richfield and mother, Suzanne Gailey Parnel of Charlotte. He worked at the Marriott Hotel Distribution Center.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his grandfather, Grady Eatman of Charlotte; grandmother, Ann Stone of Charlotte; sister, Britney Eatman of Richfield; and brother, Stephen Eatman of Richfield.

Wilkinson Funeral Home is serving the Eatman family.

Kennedy, Mattie Seals
Mrs. Mattie Seals Kennedy, 86, departed this life on Saturday, February 3, 2001. She was born July 4, 1914 in Fairfield County, South Carolina.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2001 from 12:00-1:00 PM at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 2020 Sugar Creek Road West. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM at Ebenezer Baptist Church-Dr.Leonzo D. Lynch, officiating. Interment will be at Beatties Ford Memorial Gardens.

Mattie leaves to cherish her memory: seven sons and two daughters, Alvin Kennedy of Charlotte, Rufus (Sandra) Kennedy of Dale City, Virginia, Leroy (Nelle) Kennedy, Walter (Barbara) Kennedy, Otis (Wilhelmenia) Kennedy, Marjorie (James) Sinclair, all of Charlotte, Melton (Floretta) Kennedy of Ft. Washington, Maryland, Ruby (Prentice) Christian of Great Falls, Virginia, and Ted (Roberta) Kennedy of Charlotte; one sister, Gertrude Young of Philadelphia, PA; 49 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Hattie C. Faison, Tom River, NJ and Gussie Sidberry, New York City, NY; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mattie retired from Carolina Uniform Company as a Seamstress in 1977. She led an active church life at Ebenezer Baptist Church, serving on the Pastor's Aid, Missionaries, the Hymn Choir and Sunday School.

Throughout her life, Mattie has touched and influenced the lives of many, especially her children. She will be missed by all who knew her. We will miss her loving, generous spirit and her beautiful smile.

The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Marjorie Kennedy Sinclair, 6921 Cove Creek Drive, Charlotte, NC.

Maselli, Joseph F.
Joseph F. Maselli, 89, of Charlotte died Monday, February 5, 2001 at Presbyterian Hospital. He was born September 3, 1911 in Bari, Italy to the late Anthony and Stella Celeberti Maselli.

A memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 7 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 4207 Shamrock Dr. The family will receive friends following the Mass.

Mr. Maselli had been employed as a singing waiter and had been a chauffer for Mayor Koch in New York City for 6 years. He had been a Charlotte resident for 19 years, was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church and the Italian American Club. Mr. Maselli had served with the Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Anna, of the home; son, Anthony Maselli of Valley Stream, NY; daughter, Claudia Maselli-Bazzi of Chicago, IL; brother, George Maselli; three sisters, Teresa Lioti, Antonette Noonan and Mary Aloisio, all of Queens, NY.

Carolina Funeral and Cremation is entrusted with arrangements.

Mathis, Martha Fleming
Mrs. Martha Fleming Mathis, 70, of 4607 Brenda Court, died Monday, February 5, 2001 at Presbyterian Hospital. Arrangements are incomplete. Alexander Funeral Home is in charge.

McMullen, Alberta Floyd
Mrs. Alberta Floyd McMullen, 49, died Sun., Feb. 4, 2001, at Presbyterian Hospital. Arrangements are incomplete. Long & Son Mortuary is in charge.
