Quickley rising through the officer's ranks, he helped train other officers. Coit fondly recalled in later years that his brother, Charles, who was working on the atomic bomb in Los Alamos, NM, during the waning days of World War II, had written him and said' find a foxhole and stay in it so you can't get shot at. It will soon be over."

In 1944 as a captain he was transferred to the U.S. Occupation Forces in Manila, the Phillipines, assigned to the adjutant general's staff. He was one of the supervising officers for retrieval of the Phillipine treasury that the Japanese had dumped into Manila Bay. In 1972, Mr. Lytton was made managing director of Lennox International Sales Corporation, based in Columbus, OH. Both he and Booie traveled all over the world and in 1976 marked a thirty-year career with Lennox, with numerous awards and accolades from those in the heating and air-conditioning industry as well as those within the company. One of them expressed appreciation for the Lyttonized touch' that Coit Lytton had given Lennox. The Lyttons then moved to Gastonia, NC, where they built a home on the golf course so Coit could play golf as Often as he wanted to!

Mr. Lytton was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and Men's Club at church; the Gaston Country Club and Men's Golf Group; Columbus Country Club and Golf Group, Columbus, OH; member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers; Executive Club of Gastonia; and formerly a member of Ascension Lutheran Church, Columbus, OH, and the Boore Class at Church.
