Mary Browning Arrington
Mary Browning Arrington, 70, of Avon died Tuesday, Sept. 30 in Avon.
Born in Kanapolis, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Henry Hoyle and Ada Eller Browning and the wife of William A. (Doug) Arrington Jr.
Also surviving are a daughter Debbie Jett of Hardeeville, S.C.; two sons, Ricky Trollinger of McLeansville, N.C. and Keith Trollinger of Reidsville, N.C.; one step-daughter, Pam Chambers of Stoneville, N.C.; one step-son, Wayne Arrington of Portsmouth, Va. three grandchidlren; two step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial serivce will be held at a later date.
The family request no flowers.

Lucy Gray Balance
Lucy Gray Balance, 80, died Friday, Sept. 12, in her residence in Buxton.
She was born in Avon and was a summer resident of Buxton and a winter resident of Elizabeth City.
She was a homemaker and a Presbyterian and a memeber of the Saint John's United Methodist Church in Avon.
She was the daughter of the late James and Margaret O'Neal Gray and the wife of the late Loran Balance.
She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Balance; one son, Bernice J. Balance; one sister, Pearl Madrin; three grandchildren, Brent Brewer, Kristen Brewer and Kala Balance; and three great grandchildren.
A service of remembrance was held Mon. Sept. 15, 2003 in Saint John's United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Susie Fitch-Slater.
Twiford's Island Chapel, Hatteras, assisted the family with arrangements.
Aldean Beasley Beacham
Aldean Beasley Beacham, 82 died Wednesday, Aug. 27, at her residence.
Born in Colington, she was the daughter of the late Ray McClease Beasley and the late Henrietta Gaimel Beasley and the wife of John LeLand Beacham. Jr. of the home for 63 years.
She was a former resident of Virginia Beach.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Virginia Beach Assembly of God.
Also surviving are one daughter; Debra B. Snyder of Virginia Beach; three sons, Duane Beacham and John L. Beacham, III of Virginia Beach, and Djon Beacham of Indiana; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A grave-side service will be held at 3 p.m. today, Aug. 31, in Austin Cemetery, Kitty Hawk with the Rev. Royce Beacham officiating. T
The family will receive friends at the residence.

John Wallace Boyle, Jr.
John Wallace Boyle, Jr., 83, died Aug. 14 in Denver, Colorado.
Born in Alliquippa, Penn., he was the son of John Wallace Boyle and Agnes Crawford Boyle and the widower of Constance Mary Falk Boyle.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as a B17 machine gun turret mechanic and was stationed in England for three years.
In 1949, he moved to Indiana from West Palm Beach, Florida to attend the Purdue University School of Pharmacy.
After graduation from Purdue in 1953, he ran Falk's Drug Store and later Peters & Falk's Pharmacy in Peru.
He moved to Nags Head in 1983 and retired from pharmacy work in 1991.
He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Indiana, Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, Duck Woods Country Club and several bowling leagues at Beach Bowling.
Surviving are a son, Daniel Falk Boyle of Denver; and grandchildren Stewart Falk Boyle, Ian Rutledge Boyle and Hailee Elise Boyle, all of Denver.
He is also survived by daughter Christine Anne Boyle, granddaughter Mary Danielle Boyle, and son, Charles Boyle, all of Nags Head.
A memorial service will be held at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Kitty Hawk on Sept. 25 at 11 a.m.
Cremation was done by the Cremation Society of Colorado, 62 East Arapahoe Road, Littleton, CO 80122.
Danny Ray Brennan
Danny Ray Brennan, 49, of Harbinger, NC died Saturday, Sept. 6 at The Outer Banks Hospital.
Seldon Toler Bundy
Seldon Toler Bundy, 83, died Sunday, Sept. 28 at Britthaven on the Outer Banks.
A native of Pasquotank County, she was the daughter of the late Noah M. and Minnie Reaves Toler, and the widow of Darwin T. Bundy.
She was a lifelong member of Pearl Street Pentecostal Church in Elizabeth City, where, over the years, she served as a Sunday school teacher, youth director and choir member.
A talented vocalist, she performed with the Toler Trio, singing on the local radio, in area churches and for weddings and funerals.
She worked for the Currituck County school system for many years and was an airplane spotter in the Civil Air Patrol during World War II.
She is survived by three daughters, Darsel Keiller of Ellenwood, Ga., Shelah Portoukalian of Franklin, N.C., and Lori London of Point Harbor; one sister, Marion Crank of Norfolk; one brother, James C. Toler of Ft. Payne, Ala.; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceeded in death by a daughter, Wanda Fern Lewis.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 30, at Pearl Street Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Steve Strickland and Janice Boyce officiating.
Burial followed in the Old Hollywood Cemetery.

Maxine 'Granny' Spear Davenport
Maxine "Granny" Spear Davenport, 72 of Creswell, died Saturday Sept. 13, at Albemarle Hospital in Elizabeth City.
Born in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Hattie Oliver Spear and was preceded in death by her husband; Lewis E. Davenport, Sr., daughter Suzette Davenport; brothers, Mitchell Spear, Ronald Spear, Grover Spear, Clyde Spear, Dan Spear and I.J. Spear.
She was a homemaker and member of Philippi Church of Christ.
She is survived by daughter, Wanda Carr; sons, Louie Davenport and Craig Davenport; brothers, Leo Spear and Ed Spear, and eleven grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Monday, Sept. 15 at Philippi Church of Christ in Creswell.
Interment followed in Azalea Memorial Gardens with Ray Duhon and Don Phelps officiating.
Maitland Funeral Home assisted family with arrangements.
