Janie Armour, 95, died Tuesday, Sept. 23 at the Fountains at the Albemarle in Tarboro, NC.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM, Thursday, Sept. 25 in Edgecombe Memorial Park with the Rev. Jim Wilson officiating.
Mrs. Armour was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Armour.
She is survived by her daughter,
Sandra Joyner & husband, Bruce of Tarboro;
sons, Richard Crouch & wife, Cecile of Wilmington, and
Mike Armour & wife, Jan of Tulsa, OK;
sister, Doris Hearne of Rockingham;
grandchildren,
Cindy Taylor & husband, Michael of Clayton,
Tony Joyner & wife, Sherry of Raleigh,
Cassie Meckes & husband, Scott of Fuquay-Varina,
and Catherine & Christina Crouch of Wilmington;
along with six great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to visit the family at Carlisle Funeral Home, 1:30 - 2:30 PM, Thursday, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. James United Methodist Church, 211 E. St. James Street, Tarboro, NC 27886 OR to Edgecombe County Hospice, PO Box 100, Tarboro, NC 27886

Margaret Webb Coulson, 78, died Friday, September 26, 2008 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
A private service will take place at a later date.
Mrs. Coulson was is survived by her daughters,
Carolyn Webb Dawes of Pinetops,
Robin Webb Edwards & husband, Wayne, of Macclesfield, and
Tiffany Webb Rose of Pinetops;
son, Bobby Webb & wife, Mary Ann of Pinetops;
sisters, Marie Causey, Doris Ruth Pollard, and Ruby Craft, all of Tarboro,
and Louellen Poole of Zebulon;
brothers, Vernon Webb of Macclesfield and
Davis Webb of Kinston;
4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild

Zeke Price
September 29, 2008
Rocky Mount
Melvin A. “Zeke” Price, age, 69 a life time resident of Edgecombe County died at his home Monday Sept. 29,2008.
He was born in Wilson County to Hugh Allen & Mildred Eason Price and was raised in the West Edgecombe Community. After serving in the US Navy, he returned home to work for Carolina Telephone & Telegraph. He retired from Sprint in 1993. He enjoyed his Kerr Lake fishing, his front porch, bird-watching and his granddaughters. He was a member of West Edgecombe Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday 3:00 PM at Carlisle Funeral Home with the Rev. Harry Kahn officiating. Burial will follow in Edgecombe Memorial Park.

Aaron M. Riggs, Sr.
September 28, 2008
Tarboro
Aaron Matthew Riggs, Sr., 62, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2008 in his home surrounded by his loving family and wife.
Funeral services will take place at 11:00 AM, Friday, Oct. 3 at Carlisle Funeral Home with the Revs. Tony Bossolono and Jesse Cruse officiating.
Burial will follow in the St. Michael’s Episcopal Churchyard.
Aaron was born Dec. 31, 1945 to Charlie F. & Mary Lee Williams Riggs. After the tragic loss of both parents, he was taken in by Fred & Mattie Anderson of Greenville who raised him on a farm in the eastern part of North Carolina. In 1966 he married icon his sweetheart, Brenda Worthington and went on to join the U.S. Army Reserve and proudly served his country for the next 14 years. He later was called to God’s ministry and shared His word as an associate pastor as well as wherever and whenever possible. He also was a machinist for Long Mfg. for 20 years, retiring only when his health began to decline.
In his last years, Aaron served as a great role model to his family. He was an active member of Old Wilson Road Church of God and with his wife by his side, enjoyed the experience of watching their grandchildren grow up.
He will always be remembered as a wonderful, hard working family man who held strong convictions, kept his word, and lived what he preached.
Aaron is survived by his loving family that includes his wife of 42 years, Brenda W. Riggs;
son, Jimmy Riggs & wife, Michele of Macclesfield and children, Hailey, Christa & Matthew;
son, Aaron M. Riggs, Jr. & wife, Rae Anne of Tarboro and children, Chelsie, Rebecca & Aaron David;
daughter, Twila Sullivan & husband, Pat of Rocky Mount and children, Timothy & Miranda;
brothers, William Leroy Riggs and Henry Riggs, both of Kinston
sister, Barbara Jean Williams of Greenville
Friends are invited to visit the family 7-9 PM, Thursday at Carlisle Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Jack R. Hodge

Jack Robert Hodge, 84, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 30, 2008.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 PM, Friday, October 3 in the Lakeside Mausoleum of Edgecombe Memorial Park with the Rev. Jim Wilson officiating.
Mr. Hodge, a USN WWII veteran and retired Boy Scout Executive, East Carolina Council, BSA., is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nancy S. Hodge of Tarboro, NC;
two sons, Bill of Emporia, Va. and Mike of Tarboro.
He also leaves behind two grandsons and three great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to visit the family 1:00 – 2:00 PM, Friday at Carlisle Funeral Home, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers memorials should be directed to St. James United Methodist Church, 211 E. St. James Street, Tarboro, NC 27886 or to Berea College, CPO 2216, Berea. KY 40404.
