HOLLY SPRINGS - Luther D. Greene of 1331 Piney Grove passed on Jan. 16, 1999 at the home.
Funeral, 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bazzel Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Burial, church cemetery.
Survivors: a daughter, Jasmine Monique Winston of Holly Springs; three sisters, Hazel Chambers and Doris Beasley of Holly Springs, Rosa Parrish of Carrboro, two brothers, Lonnie Greene of Raleigh and Carlton Greene of Angier; one uncle Luther Walker of Memphis, Tennessee.
Wake: 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at Bazzel Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Services under the direction of Trice Funeral Home.

SUZANNE S. GREENE
GREENSBORO - Mrs. Suzanne Sparling Greene of 224 East Avondale Drive died at home on Sunday, January 17, 1999. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 19, at the Cathedral of His Glory, 4501 Lake Jeanette Road. The Rev. Dr. Paul Willis will officiate. After the service, the family will greet friends at home on East Avondale Drive.
Mrs. Greene, 66, lived in Greensboro much of her life. She was a graduate of Greensboro Senior High School and Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri.
Survivors include her husband, Haven A. Greene of the home; parents, Mr. and Mrs. F.L. Sparling of Culver, Indiana, formerly of Greensboro; three children, John Clark Mitchell of Whitsett, Donna Mitchell Lutz of Greensboro, and Ellen Mitchell Daughtry of Fuquay-Varina; two stepchildren, Martha Holley Greene of Charlotte and Kelly Greene Atkinson of Chattanooga, Tennessee; two sisters, Ginna Sparling Doyle of Knightdale and Linda Sparling Brockey of Culver; six grandchildren, and five step-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Cathedral of His Glory, 4501 Lake Jeanette Road, Greensboro, North Carolina, 27455, where Mrs. Greene attended church.
Forbis & Dick North Elm Chapel is serving the Greene family.

BRANDON K. HOUSE
AUG. 25, 1980 - JAN. 17, 1999
WENDELL - Brandon Keith House, 18, of 6004 Taylor Rd., died Sunday afternoon in an auto accident. He was a senior at Mary Phillips High School in Raleigh. He was a loving son, brother and a friend to many.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Wendell Baptist Church with Dr. Baxter Prevatte officiating. Burial, Greenmount Cemetery.
Surviving: mother, Donna Kay House of Wendell; father, C.E. "Chuck" House, Jr., and wife, Lee of Knightdale; special dad, Baldie Bissette of Wendell; brother, Jason Thomas House of Wendell; half-brothers, Charles Edward House, III and Joshua Allen House, both of Knightdale; step-brother, Timothy Burke Smith of Knightdale; maternal grandmother, Kathryn P. Vaughan of Wendelll; paternal grandfather, Charles and Nancy House of Knightdale; paternal grandmother, Elizabeth and John Markham of Knightdale; paternal great-grandmother, Lucille B. House of Knightdale; uncles, Doug and Carolyn Vaughan of Knightdale, Wayne and Marsha House of Fuquay; aunt, Patricia House Myers of Knightdale.
Flowers accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Rex Cancer Center, 4420 Lake Boone Trail, Raleigh, NC 27607, in memory of Brandon for his "Nanny".
The family will receive friends from 7 til 9 p.m. today at Strickland Funeral Home, 211 W. Third St., Wendell, other times at the home of Kathryn P. Vaughan, 316 N. Pine St., Wendell.

LIZZIE MAE BRITT LAWSON JAN. 18, 1905-JAN. 16, 1999
ORRUM - Mrs. Lizzie Mae Britt Lawson of Orrum, NC died Saturday, January 16th due to a fatal car accident just two days prior to her 94th birthday, which she planned to celebrate with family and friends.
She was born in the Long Branch Community, the daughter of Eli and Lizzie Britt and was preceded in death by her husband, James Alva Lawson, a son Robert Eli Lawson who was killed in Korea and an infant daughter, Elizabeth Jewell Lawson. She was a retired School teacher, an active community leader, and a dedicated Sunday School teacher and choir member up to her death.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, January 19th at 11:00 a.m. from Orrum Baptist Church with burial following in the Lawson Family Cemetery.
Surviving are three children, Alta Kornegay of Warsaw, Elsie Brumback of Cary, and J.W. Lawson of the home. Her grandchildren are Tricia Kornegay Watson of Cary, Donna Brumback Nalley of Tallahassee, Florida, Lisa Brumback Yoakum of Greensboro, Karen Kornegay of Raleigh, Amanda Lawson Floyd of Southern Pines, and Allison Lawson of Memphis, Tennessee. Two great grandchildren are Kyle Watson of Cary and Jeremy Nalley of Tallahassee, Florida. In addition, she is survived by a brother, Johnson Britt of Long Branch Community and sisters Corinne Lovette of Long Branch Community and Rebecca Mullen of Atlanta, GA.
The family will receive friends on Monday night from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Biggs Funeral Home and at other times at the home. Flowers are welcomed or memorials may be made in her name, to Orrum Baptist Church, Orrum, NC.

GEORGE C. LUTHERAN
RALEIGH - George C. Lutheran, 77, died Monday, January 18, 1999.
Mr. Lutheran was retired from the US Marine Corps after 20 years of service.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth Marler Lutheran; daughter Carol Tomasovic and husband Jerry of San Antonio, TX; granddaughters Kathryn and Elizabeth Tomasovic; sister Mary Kristof of Garfield Heights, OH
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 20, 11 a.m. in Montlawn Memorial Park. Friends may visit Tuesday, 7-8 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home, 600 St. Mary's St.

NELLIE B. MORRIS
RALEIGH - Nellie Bellamy Morris, 92, of Raleigh, formerly of Scotland Neck, NC, died January 18, 1999.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 20, in the Trinity Episcopal Cemetery, Scotland Neck, NC.
Mrs. Bellamy is survived by a son, Dr. William E. "Bill" Bellamy, Jr. of Raleigh, one sister, Celia C. Wade, of Raleigh; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a daughter, Sunshine Bellamy Harper.
The family will receive friends from 11-12 p.m. Wednesday, January 20, at Letchworth Funeral Home in Scotland Neck, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation, Eastern Chapter, 400 Oberlin Road, Suite 208, Raleigh, NC 27605.
Arrangements are being handled by Letchworth Funeral Home of Scotland Neck, NC.

ETHEL "TENCE" NARRON
SELMA - Ethel "Tence" Stancil Narron, 90, died Monday. The widow of Aaron Narron she was preceded in death by a son Onvis Narron.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Antioch Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Surviving are her sons, Edsel Narron of Princeton, Alonza Narron of Apollo Beach, FL and Frank Narron of Washington; daughters, Georgia Stallings of Garner, Nancy Gordon and Louise Gordon both of Smithfield, Frances Johnson of Wilson and Betty Whitley of Clayton.
The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma.

ERIC D. O'NEIL
SEPT. 15, 1979-JAN. 17, 1999
WENDELL - Eric David O'Neil, 19, of 7725 Lake Myra Rd., died Sunday afternoon in an auto accident.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999 at Strickland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial, Central Baptist Church Cemetery.
Surviving mother, Kathey Kegley Bowden of Wendell; father, Donald Wayne O'Neil of Knightdale; half-sister, Corey Jean O'Neil of Rolesville; paternal grandparents, Donald and Joyce O'Neil of Rolesville.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at Strickland Funeral Home, 211 W. Third St., Wendell.

PAULA S. PRATT
FOUR OAKS - Ms. Paula Scott Pratt, age 50, of 106 Lakeview Dr., Four Oaks died Saturday. Ms. Pratt was born in Columbus County on Dec. 12, 1948 to the late Paul F. Scott and Eleanor Mitchell Scott.
A graveside service has been scheduled for Tuesday 11 a.m. at Elizabeth United Methodist Church, Smithfield.
Surviving in addition to her mother: sons, Rob Pratt of Knoxville, TN, Scott Pratt of Boston, MA; sister, Marion Scott of Raleigh; fiance, John Langdon of Four Oaks.
Visitation will be held at Minshew Funeral Home from 4-6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Elizabeth U.M. Church, 4269 Oakland Road, Smithfield, NC 27577.

ARABELL GURGANUS RAPER
WENDELL - Arabell Gurganus Raper, 82, of 1317 Morphus Bridge Road, died Monday, January 18, 1999 at the home of her son Wayne and his wife, Jean Raper. Funeral 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 20, 1999 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel. Visitation immediately following funeral service from 7:30-9 p.m. Private graveside committal Thursday, January 21, 1999 at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.
Surviving: sons, Frederick Wayne Raper and wife, Jean of Wendell, Douglas Lane Raper and his wife, Emily of Kentucky; grandchildren, Todd W. Raper, Angela D. Raper, Jenny Raper Royal and her husband, Danny, Jerome Scott Raper and his wife, Heather; great-grandchildren, Jeremy D. Royal, Jeffrey S. Raper, Justin W. Raper.
Mrs. Raper was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome C. Raper in 1995.
Family will receive relatives and friends immediately following the funeral service from 7:30-9 p.m. Wednesday, January 20, 1999 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service and Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545 and other times at the home of Wayne and Jean Raper, 1317 Morphus Bridge Road, Wendell, NC 27591.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wendell Baptist Church, P.O. Box 187, Wendell, NC 27591.

RUNIA H. VOGELHUT
RALEIGH - Runia Heitler Vogelhut, 73, passed away on January 17, 1999. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Henry; son, Mark Vogelhut and his wife Rhea of Tallahassee, FL; daughter, Adele Vogelhut Bedrick and her husband James of Charlotte; grandchildren, Emily and Jonathon Bedrick and Jacob and Alina Vogelhut.
A native of Cracow, Poland and a survivor of The Holocaust, she came to the United States in 1946 and married Henry Vogelhut also a survivor from Cracow, Poland on January 17, 1947. She was a member of Beth Meyer Synagogue and a Founding member of the North Carolina Holocaust Council and served actively until her death. She lectured extensively to high school and college students on The Holocaust. She coordinated and chaired the annual North Carolina Holocaust Commemoration each year in Raleigh. Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, Saint Mary's Street. Burial will follow in Raleigh Hebrew Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beth Meyer Synagogue, Holocaust Education Fund, 504 Newton Road, Raleigh, NC 27615 or to the Rex Cancer Center, 4420 Lake Boone Trail, Raleigh, NC 27607.

RAY B. WYCHE
WAKE FOREST - Mr. Ray B. Opher Wyche, 33, of 404 E. Pine Ave. expired on Wednesday night in Raleigh, NC.
The funeral service will be professionally conducted on Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Feggins-Feggins Funeral Chapel in Wake Forest.
Survivors: three sons, Ray, Ryan, and Randall Opher all of the home; mother, Everlena Jones of the home; two brothers, Marvin Wyche of Wendell, NC and James Opher of Wake Forest; grandmother, Florence Ferrell of Zebulon, NC; one uncle, three aunts, three nephews; a host of cousins and other loving relatives and friends.
Professional arrangements by Feggins-Feggins Funeral Service Inc. in Wake Forest, NC 556-1018.

ANNIE ROBERTS HOBBS
RALEIGH - Annie Roberts Hobbs, 69 of 2112 Mayview Road, died Friday, June 18, 1999 at Sunnybrook Alzheimer's and Healthcare Specialists.
Funeral service 2 p.m., Monday, June 21, 1999 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel. Restlawn Memorial Garden.
Surviving: daughters, Julia Washington Tingen of Raleigh, Debra Hobbs Hathaway of Wendell; son, Clifton Wayne Hobbs of Raleigh; sisters, Jean R. Carter of Fayetteville, Betty R. Whitley of Garner; brothers, James Leonard Roberts of Fayetteville, Ray Willis Roberts of New Hill, William Owen Roberts of Garner, Bobby Earl Roberts of California; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 3-5 p.m., Sunday, June 20, 1999 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service and Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545.

RUTH CHARLOTTE SPINDLER
RALEIGH - Mrs. Ruth Charlotte Spindler, 71, of Raleigh, died Friday, June 18, 1999 in Rex Hospital after a brief illness.
Mrs. Spindler was born in Chicago, Ill. on September 24, 1927, the daughter of the late John and Bertha Speidel Issel. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Leo Issel and John Issel; two sisters, Betty Issel and Caroline Issel and also a son, Keith Lawrence Spindler.
Beloved wife of 50 years, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to so many beloved friends. Mrs. Spindler was an active church member of Christ The King Lutheran Church and also a volunteer as the Manorhouse Retirement Center and Lutheran Family Services. She loved all of God's creatures in the animal kingdom.
Surviving are her husband, Robert George Spindler of the home; one son, Jack Robert Spindler and wife, Pattie of Crystal Lake, Ill.; one daughter, Darlene Spindler Nelson and husband, Rev. Thomas E. Nelson Jr. of Raleigh; two brothers, Eugene Issel of Carpentersville, Ill. and Harold Issel of Phoenix, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Jack Robert Spindler, Jennifer Joan Spindler and David Patrick Spindler.
A service celebrating her life will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 21, 1999 in The Christ The King Lutheran Church by Rev. John Nagle. Interment will be on Saturday, June 26, 1999 in the Dundee Cemetery, Dundee, Ill.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Memorial Fund at Christ The King Lutheran Church, 600 Walnut St., Cary, N.C. 27511.
The family wishes to thank all the staff at Rex Hospital for their excellent care. The family also appreciates the prayers and support of the members of Christ The King Lutheran Church.
