RUBY B. REVELS
ANGIER - Ruby Barbour Revels, 86, of 13956 NC Hwy 210, died Saturday at Brian Center in Clayton. She was born October 11, 1912, in Harnett County to the late Percy and Florence Gregory Barbour. A homemaker she was a member of Benson Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Paul C. Revels and a daughter, the late Glenda Revels Barefoot.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson. Revs. Leon Tart and Keith Walters will officiate. Burial will follow in Devotional Gardens.
Surviving: sons, Jerry Revels of Lexington, SC and Larry Revels of Angier; sister, Rachel Grubbs of Seven Lakes; brother, Sherwood Barbour of Sanford, FL; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials may be made to the Benson Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, in care of Lavon Ennis, 1867 Zacks Mill Rd, Angier, NC 27501.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday.

ROMIE V. ROSE
ROCKY MOUNT - Romie Vernon Rose, 67, died Sunday, March 28, 1999. He was born March 8, 1932 in Hertford County to Geneva Boone Miller and the late William Joe Rose. He was a member of the Southside Baptist Church and a U.S. Army Veteran.
Surviving in addition to his mother; son, William Charles Rose and friend, Debora Coleman of Rocky Mount; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Robert Wells of Rocky Mount; former daughter-in-law, Deborah Rose of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Michael and David Rose, Mark, Jason, Phillip and Dana Wells; brother, William Earl Rose of Shallotte.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson Funeral Home, Sunset Avenue with the Rev. Kenneth Cobb officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home or other times at 1050 Springfield Road, Rocky Mount.

NANCY MAE SHEARIN
SPRING HOPE - Nancy Mae Shearin, age 82, died Saturday, March 27, 1999, at Nash Grove Manor, Nashville.
A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at 11 a.m. at Spring Hope Memorial Gardens by Rev. Gordon Joyner.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W.R. Shearin and two sons, Marvin and Dwight. She was a member of Holly Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Thurlo J. Shearin and Darvin M. Shearin, both of Spring Hope; three sisters, Tempie Lee Walker, Daphine Sherrod, and Cossett Flowers, all of Rocky Mount; two brothers, Arthur Ray Manning of Rocky Mount; Jerome Laffette Manning of Wilson; seven grandsons and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the Spring Hope Funeral Home, Monday evening from 7-9 p.m. and other times at the home of Thurlo and Shelby Jean Shearin, 9966 Stallings Road, Spring Hope.

NELL TAYLOR
LILLINGTON - Mrs. Nell Taylor, 75, died Saturday, March 27, 1999 at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford.
Funeral services will be held today at 3:30 p.m. in the Lillington Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Bill Goodnight officiating. Burial will follow in the Harnett Memorial Park.
Surviving: husband, R.S. Taylor of the home; daughters, Janice Taylor and Debbie T. Smith, both of Lillington; son, Stamey Taylor of Lillington; five grandchildren, Jay, Jamie and Nicole Smith, Lauren and Brian Taylor.

HELEN P. WALKER
DURHAM - Mrs. Helen P. Walker, age 81, a resident of 309 Newsom St. died Saturday evening at Durham Regional Hospital following declining health. She was the daughter of the late George D. Pearce and Katie Hicks Pearce. Mrs. Walker was born in Franklin Co. and had been a resident of Durham for the past 52 years. Before retiring Mrs. Walker was a former employee of Singer Sewing Machine Co. and was employed with Thalhimers for 15 years as a seamstress. She was a member of Braggtown Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, W. Herman Walker; daughters, Ada Walker Beakes and husband, Tom Beakes of Timberlake and Patricia Walker Deffenbaugh and husband, Rex Deffenbaugh of Moncure; sister, Eldred P. Lindsay of Youngsville; and grandchildren, Stacey Robyn Beakes, Justin Deffenbaugh, and Blair Deffenbaugh.
Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday 2 p.m. at Clements Funeral Chapel by Rev. Carl Belcher. Burial will follow in New Sharon Church Cemetery. Active Casket Bearers will be Gordon Blalock, Jerry Foushee, Neil Holden, Howard Holloway, Earl Latta, Gail Lindsey, Kenneth Walker, and Gene Wilson. Flowers are acceptable or donation may be made to New Sharon Church Cemetery, 1601 New Sharon Church Rd., Hillsborough, NC 27278. The family will receive friends at Clements Funeral Home in Durham Monday evening from 7-9 p.m.

MABLE P. WILHALF
ROCKY MOUNT - Mable Parker Wilhalf, 89, died Sunday, March 28, 1999. She was born September 24, 1909 in Washington County, daughter of the late Henry L. and Lillian Roberson Bateman. Mrs. Wilhalf was preceded in death by her husband, Hal Wilhalf. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a retired saleslady with the Belk Tyler Co.
Surviving: Stepson, Billy Wilhalf of Wilmington; brother, Dallas Bateman of Burlington; nieces, Peggy Bateman Suehr of Raleigh and Donna Hanford of Burlington; several other nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pineview Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Marshall officiating.

MRS. MARY LANIER WILLIAMS
BURGAW - Mary Lanier Williams, 80, of Burgaw and formerly of Currie died Saturday, March 27, 1999, at her daughter's residence in Burgaw.
Born January 14, 1919, in Wake County she was the daughter of the late Cary Cornelius and Millie Jones Seagraves. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Jarrett Jr. in 1944 and later married Bennie Frank Williams Sr. who died in 1994.
Mrs. Williams was a graduate of Meredith College and in later years served on their Board of Trustees for eight years. She taught public school in Mitchell and Wake Counties for a number of years.
She was a member of Burgaw Baptist Church. Prior to moving to Burgaw she had been a member of Moores Creek Baptist Church where she served as church pianist for many years. She served a term as WMU Director for the Wilmington Baptist Association.
For many years she was an active member of the Moores Creek Womans Club and was instrumental in the publication of "The Moores Creek Cook Book."
Surviving are her son Bennie Frank Williams Jr. of Currie; her daughter, Jennings J. Trawick and husband, Gary Trawick of Burgaw; grandchildren, Evans Trawick, Helen Trawick and Sarah Trawick Durham and husband, Robert; great-grandson, Alex Durham; brothers, James Seagraves of High Point and Ben Seagraves of Mamaroneck, NY; sister, Millie Lou Scott of Apex; and mother-in-law, Vestina Jarrett of Bakersville.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Burgaw Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Parnell officiating.
Burial will follow in Moores Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Currie.
The family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. Monday at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home and at other times will be at the home of Gary and Jennings Trawick, Burgaw.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to Burgaw Baptist Church Piano Fund, P.O. Box 385, Burgaw, NC 28425.

MARY E. YOUNGBLOOD
August 7, 1924 - March 28, 1999
WILSON'S MILLS - Mary Edna Youngblood, 74, died Sunday, March 28, 1999.
She was born August 7, 1924 in Johnston County, daughter of the late Paul and Effie Casey Youngblood. She was a retired extension secretary with the North Carolina Agricultural Extension Service.
Surviving: sisters, Margaret Y. Hardy of LaGrange and Anne Y. McArthur of Goldsboro; sisters-in-law, Sidney B. Youngblood of Wilson's Mills and Doris P. Youngblood of Danville, Va.
The service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, at the Wilson's Mills Christian Church in Wilson's Mills, followed by the burial at Knollwood Cemetery on Highway 70. The family will receive at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Youngblood, 301 Lee-Youngblood Road.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wilson's Mills Christian Church, P.O. Box 247, Wilson's Mills, N.C. 27593.

BRIGADIER B. ANDREWS III
RALEIGH - Funeral service for Brigadier General Alexander Boyd Andrews III, 86, of 2513 Lewis Farm Road, will be at Church of the Good Shepherd at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10, 1999. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery with military honors. Friends are welcome at the Andrews home, 2513 Lewis Farm Road, on Tuesday, March 9, 1999, from 5-7 p.m.

CLINTON - Nellie Cannady Carroll, 82, died March 8, 1999, in Mary Gran Nursing Center, Clinton, NC. Mrs. Carroll was born in Sampson County and was a member of First Baptist Church of Clinton. She was a homemaker and the widow of Daniel Carroll.
She is survived by a son, Rev. Dr. Jesse J. Croom of Ahoskie, NC; five sisters, Beulah Staton and Shirley Tant both of Raleigh, NC, Margaret Barnes of Elizabethtown, NC, Charlotte Edwards of Roseboro, NC, and Brilla Cannady of Denver, CO; a brother, Donnie Cannady of Garland, NC; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, 1999 in First Baptist Church Chapel, Clinton, NC by the Rev. Dr. David Kolb. Burial will be in Garland Cemetery, Garland, NC.
The family will receive friends at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home, Clinton, from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.

GEORGETOWN, SC - Addie Cribb Carter, 87, died Saturday, March 6, 1999, at Prince George Healthcare Center in Georgetown.

Funeral services will be Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 in First Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Ronald G. Dillon and the Rev. Dr. J.M. Kirkland. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home.

RALEIGH - Juanita Pierce Clark, 74, of 9808 Old Stage Road, died Sunday.
Funeral Service 10 a.m. today at Montlawn Mausoleum Chapel.
Surviving: son, James Rodney Godwin and his wife Phyllis of Raleigh; grandchildren, James Clinton Ferrell of Raleigh and Kelli Dee Kennedy of Fuquay-Varina; a great-grandson, Michael Brandon Kennedy; sister, Marguerite P. Reeve of Raleigh; and a brother, B. K. Pierce, Jr. of Harkers Island.

ARDIS K. COHOON
RALEIGH - Ardis Kipp Cohoon, died Sunday, March 7, 1999, in Morehead City, N.C. She was born in Independence, Missouri, on November 20, 1921, the beloved daughter of Dorotha Davis Kipp and Edison deWint Kipp.
She grew up in Miami Beach, Florida, and attended Wesleyan College for Women. Ardis graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority and The Order of the Valkyrie. At Chapel Hill she was a journalism major and served as the first female business manager of The Yackety Yack and The Carolina Magazine.
Ardis is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Floyd E. Cohoon, and two daughters, Kipp Cohoon of Raleigh, and Sandra C. Craft and her husband Spalding Craft of Morehead City, and one son, Floyd E. Cohoon III, and his wife, Judith Cohoon.
She is also survived by three grandchildren, Jason Alexander Groot of Raleigh, and Eleanor Kipp Craft and Hughes Spalding Craft Jr. of Morehead City.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 9, at 11 a.m. at Saint Michael's Episcopal Church, 1520 Canterbury Road.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 7-8 at 924 Blenheim Place.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made on her behalf to Hospice of Wake County or Building Together Ministries, 1116 North Blount Street, Raleigh, N.C.
