APEX - Daniel William Kendrick, age 19, of 303 Piney Woods Lane in Holland Crossing, Apex, NC died July 6, 1999. Daniel was a native of Springfield, MA, a former resident of Raleigh, NC, and a 1998 graduate of Millbrook High School.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 9, 1999 in the Apex Funeral Home Chapel, 511 West Williams St. (HWY 55), Apex, NC, with Dr. Jeff Beckett officiating. Burial will follow in the Apex Cemetery.
Survivors are his parents, Robert and Yong Cha Kendrick of the home; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Kendrick of Fort Wayne, Indiana; his great-grandmother, Mrs. S. C. Johnson of Newport News, VA; three aunts, Sharon Kendrick of Huntington, Indiana, Margaret Barry of Charlotte, NC, Becky Piepenbrink of Fort Wayne, Indiana; great-uncle, Sam W. Johnson of Hampton, VA.
The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. Thursday, July 8, 1999 at Apex Funeral Home, Apex, NC..

DAVID GEORGE LIVINGSTONE
GREENSBORO - David George Livingstone, 55, formally of Raleigh, died Monday, July 5, 1999.
He was preceded in death by his father, Homer Lee Livingstone and mother, Eulala Kathleen Livingstone of Asheville; sister, Jewel Holoman of Atlanta, GA, Marilyn Bates of Raleigh.
Mr. Livingstone is survived by his daughter, Shannon L. Fasulo and son-in-law, Steve Fasulo of Knightdale; son, Sean Livingstone of Raleigh, and his daughter, Erin Livingstone of Raleigh; brother, William Livingstone of Chattanooga, TN; sisters, Carolyn Ross of Reidsville, Sara Ann Moore, of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Zachary and McKenzie Fasulo.
Funeral arrangements are being made by Penlin Funeral Home in Swannanoa, NC. There will be a graveside service at Green Hill Cemetery in Asheville on July 10, 1999 at 11 a.m. Where Mr. Livingston will be buried alongside his parents,.
Dad, Thank You for being a loving father and grandfather. We will always cherish our memories with you and continue to love and miss you each day.

ELIZABETH MARIE SCHATTE
HOUSTON, TX - Elizabeth Marie Schatte, infant daughter of Dr. Ed and Dawnelle Schatte, died June 2, 1999 at Methodist Hospital, Houston.
Also surviving: paternal grandparents, Curtis and Jackie Schatte of Garner, NC; maternal grandparents, Bob and June Bjercke of Houston; paternal great-grandmother, Elsie Wanicke of East Chicago, IN; uncle, Bob Schatte of Durham, NC; aunts, Carol and Johanna Bjercke of Houston; paternal great aunts and uncles, Carole and Leon Langner, Denise and Charles Korbel, Pat and Lou Polus and Mary Lou Geisler; maternal great aunts and uncles, Denie and Keith Lassman, Carol Wonderlich, Creta Wonderlich and Roy and Bunny Bjercke; many cousins and great-cousins.
Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Saint Mary Mother of the Chruch, Garner, NC.

MRS. VIVIAN LOUISE STEGALL
RALEIGH - Mrs. Vivian Louise Stegall, 79, of Raleigh, died Monday, July 5, 1999 in the Intergrated Health Services.
Graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, July 9, 1999 at Raleigh National Cemetery by Rev. Leon Bizzell.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Mitchell Funeral Home, 600 St. Mary's St., Raleigh, NC.

FRANK HARGROVE
SEPT. 21, 1921 - MAY 21, 1999
RALEIGH - Funeral service for Frank Hargrove, 77, who died Friday, May 21, 1999 will be 2 p.m. Weds., May 26, 1999 at Pine Grove Disciple of Christ Church, Newton Grove. Burial, church cemetery.
He was the son of the Wellie and Rena Hargrove. He grew up in the Faison area where he also attended the Sampson County School System. Later, he moved to Smithfield where he was employed with Burlington Industries until his retirement and subsequent move to Raleigh.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Alice Hobbs Hargrove; son, Charlie Ralph Hargrove; daughter, Judy Jackson-Branch.
Surviving: daughters, Minnie Byrd of Smithfield, Annie Sanders, Fannie Hargrove, Ruby Sanders and Bettye Hargrove, all of Raleigh; sons, Johnnie Hargrove of Raleigh, Willie Hargrove of New York City, Jim Hargrove of Tulsa, OK; brothers, FaisonJr. Lewis and Robert Lee Lewis, both of Faison, Luther Lewis of Long Island, NY; sisters, Lattie Armwood and Elma Simmons of Faison, Alice Hobbs of South Carolina. Also, a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends will mourn his passing. He will be remembered and missed by all!

BILLIE JO W. BYRD
ZEBULON - Billie Jo Woods Byrd, 51, died Monday. Funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with Rev. Deborah Butt officiating. Burial will be in the Wilson's Mills Christian Church Cemetery.
Surviving are two daughters, Bobbie Caddell of Wilson's Mills, Sonya Cogan of Knightdale; mother, Lorene Hitchcock Woods; three brothers, Homer L. Woods, Allen C. Woods and Jay K. Woods, all of California; sister, Patsy A. DeKruis of California.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.

RONALD LEE COLLINS
RALEIGH - Ronald Lee Collins, 54, of Raleigh, died Saturday, May 22, 1999 at his residence. Mr. Collins was born in Wake County, the son of the late William M. and Edna Blinson Collins.
Surviving are two brothers, William Robert Collins of Wilmington, and David Stephen Collins of Garner; two sisters, Linda Collins Mooney of Rougemont and Joyce Collins Putnam of Raleigh.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, 1999 in the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel, St. Mary's St. Chapel by Rev. Leon Bizzell. Interment will follow in Montlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at Mitchell Funeral Home, 600 St. Mary's Street, Raleigh.

PHILIP HENRY ELLINGTON
RALEIGH - A service of celebration for Mr. Phillip Henry Ellington will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 27th at Our Savior Lutheran Church on the corner of Aycock Street and Glenwood Avenue. The family will be gathering at his daughter's home.
Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of North Carolina, 5950 Fairview Road, Suite 708, Charlotte, N.C. 28210.

CAROL STONE ELLIOTT
COATS - Ms. Carol Stone Elliott, 57, of Coats, died Monday, May 24, 1999 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. Ms. Elliott was a native of Harnett County and was the daughter of the late Ores F. Stone and the widow of the late Thomas C. Elliott. Ms. Elliott was a retired Health Care Technician at Dorothea Dix Hospital in Raleigh. She was a Disc Jockey at WPYB in Benson on Sunday morning for "The Gospel Caravan" and "Moments to Remember." She was a member of Gospel Tabernacle Church in Dunn. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at Gospel Tabernacle Church in Dunn. Officiating will be Rev. King White, Rev. Leon Tart, and Rev. Gabriel Tew. Burial will follow in the Williams Family Cemetery in Coats.
Surviving include her mother, Iva Wood Stone of Coats; two daughters, Brenda C. Roper and Lisa A. Roper, both of Raleigh; one sister and brother-in-law, Wanda Stone and Leon Moody of Houston, Texas.
The family will receive friends at Cromartie Miller and Lee Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 7-9 p.m.

R. SULLIVAN FISHER
RED OAK - R. Sullivan Fisher, 71, died Monday, May 24, 1999. He was born, June 3, 1927, in Nash County and was the son of the late, A. Jackson and Annie Moore Fisher. Mr. Fisher was an active member and board member of Beulah Church of Christ, Nashville, NC. He was a retired member of the Board of Managers at Centura Bank, Rocky Mount, a board member of Nash County Farm Bureau, a past chief of the Red Oak Fire Department and a member of the Fire Department Board of Directors. Mr. Fisher also was a member of the Nash County Soil Conversation Service Board of Directors, a Navy Veteran of World War II, a retired farmer and received the outstanding Farmer of America Award in 1958.
Surviving: wife, Dorothy Callahan Fisher of the home; daughters and son-in-law, Linda Eileen Fisher of Red Oak, Betty Anne Fisher of Greensboro and Nancy Fisher and Eric Johnson Marshall of Walnut Cove; grandchildren, Megan Farrar Marshall and James Madison Marshall of Walnut Cove; brother, Gilbert B. Fiser of Red Oak.
Mr. Fisher was preceded in death by sisters, Murveree Fisher Deans, Theresa Fisher Bilbo and Eunice Fisher Kearns.
Funeral service will be held 4 p.m. today at Beulah Church of Christ with Danny Stalls and Rev. Rucker Burnette officiating. Burial will follow in the Red Oak Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Beulah Church of Christ or the Red Oak Fire Department.

RUTH DICKERSON MEADE
RALEIGH - Mrs. Ruth Dickerson Meade, of Raleigh, died at Rex Hospital on Tuesday, May 25, 1999, after a courageous battle of cancer. Mrs. Meade was a member of the St. James United Methodist Church in Raleigh, where in past years she had served as a Sunday School teacher in the children's department and a member of the adult choir. The service to the witness of the Resurrection will be held at St. James United Methodist Church on Thursday, May 27, 1999, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Raleigh Memorial Park.
Mrs. Meade is survived by one son, Samuel A. Meade of Raleigh; one sister, Elizabeth D. Fuller of Raleigh; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Sylvester Allen Meade.
Visitation will be from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26, 1999, at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, Millbrook Road.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Health Care Foundation, Rex Cancer Center, 2500 Blue Ridge Road, Suite 316, Raleigh, NC, 27607.

KATHLEEN M. OSBORN
CARY - Kathleen Marie Osborn, 36, of 310 King Charles Lane, Cary, NC, died Sunday May 23, 1999 due to an extended illness. She was a native of East Rochester, NY and was employed three years with the Capital Area Y.M.C.A. communication office, Raleigh, N.C.
A memorial funeral service will be held Thursday, May 27, 1999 at 7 p.m. in the Apex Funeral Home Chapel, 511 W. Williams St., (Hwy. 55) Apex, N.C. Officiating will be Rev. Becky Sansbury, Chaplin of Hospice of Wake County.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. prior to the service and immediately following the service.
Survivors are husband, Rod Osborn; two sons, Nicholas and Matthew; two daughters, Jenileigh and Mary Kate; her parents, Eugene and Madeline Lilly of East Rochester, NY, father and mother-in-law, Wallace and Betty Osborn of Hamlin, NY; sister, Marie Ragonese and her husband, Peter of Pittsford, NY; special uncle, Joseph Lilly of East Rochester, NY. She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Lilly.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Kathleen Osborn Memorial Fund at the Capital Area Y.M.C.A, 1601 Hillsborough St., Raleigh, N.C. 27605.

LORETTA ENGLISH PARKS
RALEIGH - Loretta English Parks, of 7925 Foxwood Drive, formerly of South Carolina, died Friday. Funeral 11 a.m. Thursday at Wake Chapel Baptist Church. Burial, Montlawn Memorial Park.
Surviving: husband, Gerry A. Parks; daughters, Laura Latrease English, Fatimah Yiesha English, both of the home; sons, Michael Jr., Malcolm, and Marcus Wright, all of Florida; mother, Laura E. English of Raleigh; sisters, Edwina English of Plattsburgh, NY, Donalla Yvette Jacques of Raleigh; maternal grandmother, Annie Mae Walker of New Jersey; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Visitation 10-11 a.m. Thursday, Lea Funeral Home.

SAM THOMAS QUEEN
SMITHFIELD - Sam Thomas Queen, 74, of Hancock Street, died Tuesday at Rex Hospital following an extended illness. Mr. Queen was born in Chase City, Virginia on October 5, 1924. He resided in Smithfield since 1950 where he owned and operated Queen's Antique Shop until his retirement. He was a member of Corinth United Methodist Church near Four Oaks. Mr. Queen was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas F. and Lois L. Queen and by a brother, Claud Queen.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma, with Rev. Donna Fowler-Marchant officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park in Smithfield.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Marie Brinkley Queen; two sons, Timothy Queen and wife, Shirley of Pensacola, Florida and Sammy Queen of Selma; daughter, Susan Ashley and husband, Jack of Greenville, NC.The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday night from 7-9 p.m.

LUCILLE J. RIVERS
REIDSVILLE - Lucille Jones Rivers, 85, of 2308 S. Scales St., died May 25, 1999.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 27, at Mizpah United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
Mrs. Rivers was a lifelong member of Mizpah, a church founded by her grandfather and was the church's oldest member. Prior to her retirement in 1979, she was a nurses' assistant at Annie Penn Hospital. She had been an active member of many organizations as well as a volunteer at Annie Penn. She was named the American Business Woman of the Year in 1986.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Albert Cornelius Rivers of the home; son and daughter-in-law, David and Betty Rivers of Kernersville; daughter and son-in-law, Kay and William Diehl of Cary; grandson, Wesley Rivers of Wilmington; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26, 1999 at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lucille J. Rivers Memorial Fund, Mizpah United Methodist Church, c/o Mr. Patrick Jones, 180 Lindsey Jones Lane, Reidsville, N.C. 27320.

LOUISE A. H. ROBINSON-OBERSCHALL
CHAPEL HILL - Mrs. Louise Anne Howell Robinson-Oberschall died in her home Monday, May 24. She was born the daughter of the late Louise and Dudley Howell on Feb. 4, 1939 in Wilmington, NC.
Surviving are her husband, Tony Oberschall of the home; a daughter and son-in-law Leslie and Chris Clapp of Wilmington, NC; a son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Donia Robinson of Calistoga, CA; a sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Dick Evans of Greenville, NC; nieces and nephews, Louise Walston, Susan Wetherill, Taylor Humphries, Lewis Kofsky, Doug Kofsky, Emily Kofsky and Tony's children Alex and Sarah Oberschall.
A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 125 S. 3rd Street in Wilmington at 11:30 p.m. Thursday May 27th. Officiating will be the Rev. Kathryn Beach-Verhey and the Rev. Carol Sims.
Mrs. Oberschall graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1960 and was a member of Pi Beta Phi fraternity. She was a sustaining member of the Junior League and a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that contributions be made in her name to Habitat for Humanity.
Walkers Funeral Home of Chapel Hill is in charge of arrangements.
