RALEIGH - Charles Michael Gould, 15, a student at East Wake Middle School died Thursday.
Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Sunday at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, Millbrook Road. Burial in Montlawn Memorial Park.
Surviving are his mother, Sherrill L. Beaulieu of Raleigh; father and stepmother, Marc and Donna Hedrick Gould of Clayton; sister, Davida Gould of Clayton; step-sister, Amanda Hedrick of Clayton; step-brother, Gary Hedrick of Garner; paternal grandparents, Sidney and Sara Lee Gould of Fort Myers, FL., several aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. on Saturday.

LELA W. HARDEE
CARY - Lela Wilson Hardee, 76, of Cary died Thursday at Rex Hospital.
Graveside funeral service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Montlawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Hardee is survived by two sons, Millard M. Hardee, Jr. and wife Susan, A. Lawrence Hardee and wife Debra, all of Cary; one daughter, Martha S. Hardee of Cary; three sisters, Elizabeth Adcock and husband Demp of Raleigh, Ann Franklin of Apex, Linda Farr and husband Coleman of Wilson; one brother, Charles Wilson and wife Jenny of Seven Lakes, NC; a sister-in-law, Louise Wilson of Apex; one grandchild, Shannon L. Hardee of Cary.
The family will receive friends at the Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary on Saturday from 7-9 p.m.

CARY - Emily Mae Jones of 511 N. Academy St., Cary, NC died Wednesday, February 10, 1999.
Funeral service to be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 13, at Haywood Funeral Home Chapel. Burial follows in the Cary First United Church of Christ Cemetery on Cornwall Rd.
She is survived by: a daughter, Sandra Winters, Raleigh; three sons, Edgar B. Jones, Raleigh, Archie W. Jones, Durham, NC, and Calvin Jones, New Haven, CT; two sisters, Sallie Jones, Cary, NC, and Rachel Henderson, Raleigh; three brothers, Robert Jones and Bruce Jones, both of Cary, NC and Archie Jones, California; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10-11 a.m. Saturday.
JOHN EMIL KLEIN
APEX - John Emil Klein, 57, of 2713 Holland Rd., Apex, died at Rex Hospital early Friday due to an extended illness. Mr. Klein was a food service employee with SAS Inst., in Cary for 10 years.
Funeral service will be held Sunday, February 14, 1999 at 2 p.m. in the North Cary Baptist Church in Cary, by Rev. Joe Savage. Burial will follow in the Reedy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors are his wife, Gail T. Klein of the home; a stepson, Gary Edwards and wife, Margaret H. of the home; two brother, Benny Klein and wife, Betty of Cary, William Klein of Cary; one niece, Barbara O'Quinn and one nephew, Billy Klein.

RUTH DUPREE LASSITER
FOUR OAKS - Mrs. Ruth Dupree Lassiter, 93, died Friday at Johnston Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Lassiter was born October 5, 1905 to the late Jasper E. and Lela Matthews Barbour. She was a member of Burnell Baptist Church and former longtime member of Providence Presbyterian Church. The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Minshew Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Keith Kimball and grandson, Rev. Marty Dupree.
Surviving: sons, Joseph Dupree of Myrtle Beach, SC, J. Harold Dupree of N. Myrtle Beach, SC, Gerald Dupree of Charlotte; sister, Velma Wheeler of Tallahassee, FL; brothers, Shelton Barbour, Edison Barbour and Rudolph Barbour, all of Benson; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; stepson, Ivan Lassiter; grandchildren and great-grandchildren of her late husband, Tom Lassiter.
Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home prior to the funeral.
GLADYS SMITH LAWRENCE
FUQUAY-VARINA - Gladys Smith Lawrence, 88, of 1012 South Main Street, passed on Wednesday at Wake Medical Center.
Funeral 2 p.m. Sunday, First Baptist Church, Fuquay-Varina. Burial, Starlight Memorial Gardens.
Surviving: daughter, Elizabeth Hunter of Raleigh; sons, Thomas Lawrence Jr. of Apex, Jimmie Lawrence of South Amboy, NJ, Bobby Lawrence of Fort Gordon, GA.; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation from 1:30-2:00 p.m. Sunday at the church.

ARLINE P. LILIENTHAL
CARY - Arline P. Lilienthal, 72, of Cary, died unexpectedly in Ft. Myers Beach, FL, while on vacation.
Mrs. Lilienthal was born on March 13, 1926 in Jersey City, N.J. She married Richard J. Lilienthal on December 20, 1950. She and her husband traveled throughout the United States during his 22 years of service with the US Navy until they settled in Cary in 1965.
Mrs. Lilienthal was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church where she was a former president of Women-ELCA. She was also an active member of the Christian Community in Action and worked with the Dorcas Shop.
She is survived by her husband, Richard J. Lilienthal of Cary; son, John E. Lilienthal of Raleigh; daughters, Barbara J. Metivier of Cary, and Susan C. Dickens of Apex; sister, Joan Palkewick of Sarasota, FL; granddaughters, Kathleen A. McJames of Durham and Cheryl L. McNeil of Winston-Salem.
A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 16, 1999 at Christ the King Lutheran Church.
The family will be receiving friends following the service.

PETER G. OLSON JR.
RALEIGH - Peter George Olson, Jr., 80, of 244 Springmoor Dr., died Thursday. A graduate of Johns Hopkins University, he was a business executive and engineer for many years.
Surviving: his wife, Mary Peed Olson; a son, Peter George Olson, III of Colorado Springs, CO; a daughter, Pam Olson of Raleigh; a sister, Doris Fleske of Medin, PA; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Springmoor Auditorium.

ANGUS W. PAIT
LAURINBURG - Mr. Angus Wilton Pait, 72, of 724 Azure Court died suddenly Thursday, February 11, in Waynesboro, VA.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Laurinburg Presbyterian Church officiated by the Revs. Nick Mager and Elizabeth Forester.
Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Fitzgerald Pait; a son, John Angus Pait of Wilson; a daughter, Anne Pait Beane and her husband, Timothy, of Richmond, VA; two brothers, Hubbard Pait of Bladenboro and Larry Pait of Hookerton; two sisters, Virginia P. Hickman of Buies Creek and Roma P. Williams of Knightdale; four grandchildren; Sarah Anne Beane, Timothy Beane, Margaret F. Beane, and Angus W. Beane of Richmond, VA.
A native of Bladenboro, Angus served with the US Army in World War II and was a clerk for the US Postal Service for 30 years. He was a former deacon, Elder, Clerk of Session, and Sunday school superintendent at Laurinburg Presbyterian Church. He was also the first director of Church Community Services.

Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium.
ADDIE RUE BARHAM SCARBORO
ZEBULON - Addie Rhue Barham Scarboro, 80, of 6720 Mitchell Mill Road, died Friday, February 12, 1999 at Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville. Mrs. Scarboro had retired with 20 years of service as a title examiner with N.C. Department of Motor Vehicles. Mrs. Scarboro had lived in recent months at Eden Gardens Retirement Home in Statesville.
Funeral service 7 p.m. Saturday, February 13, 1999 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel. Graveside service 2 p.m. Sunday, February 14, 1999 at Beulah Christian Baptist Church Cemetery, 8225 Mitchell Mill Road, Zebulon.
Surviving: husband, Herbert Morris Scarboro; daughter, Julie Scarboro Stikeleather and her husband, Tom of Statesville; son, Phillip Morris Scarboro and his wife, Paulette of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Phillip M. FREDDIE WILSON THOMPSON JR.
BALTIMORE, MD - Freddie Wilson Thompson, Jr., 42, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999 in the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore. Formerly of Raleigh, NC, he died suddenly from serious injuries sustained from an accident.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Selma and Jamie Thompson of Henderson, NC, Kate and John Lamb of Henderson, NC; nephew, Jonathan Bryce Quick of Garner, NC.
Surviving with much love and sorrow, father, Freddie Wilson Thompson, Sr. of Henderson, NC; mother, Vivian Ray and husband, William B. Ray of Wake Forest, NC; sisters, Sherry Dupree and husband, Billy of Harker's Island, NC, Tania Quick and husband, Dave of Garner, NC; brother, Larry Ray; nieces, Tasha Quick and Aimee Dupree; nephews, Jason Dupree, Daryn Quick and Dane Dupree; several aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.

FREDDIE WILSON THOMPSON JR.
HENDERSON - Freddie W. Thompson Jr., 42, a resident of 1691 Ruin Creek Rd., died Thursday in the University of Maryland Shock Trama Unit in Baltimore, Md.
He was a native of Vance County and was the son of Freddie W. Thompson Sr. of Henderson and Vivian Lamb Ray of Wake Forest. He was self-employed in Sales and Installations of Lightning Rods. He was a graduate of Millbrook High School where he played both football and baseball.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 14, 1999 in Sunset Gardens by the Rev. Robert Kelly.
Surviving in addition to his parents are two sisters, Sherry DuPree of Harkers Island, N.C. and Tania Quick of Garner, N.C.
The family will receive friends Saturday night from 7-8:30 p.m. at the J.M. White Funeral Home; at other times they will be at the home of Freddie W. Thompson Sr., 1691 Ruin Creek Rd.
BENJAMIN F. TONEY
WILSON - Benjamin Frank Toney, Sr., 56, a retired Wilson County Educator, of 2120 Fieldcrest Road, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999 at the Wilson Memorial Hospital. The funeral will be held 2p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999 at the L.N. Forbes Original Free Will Baptist Tabernacle, 1800 Lane St., Ext., Wilson, the Dr. J. B. Woodhouse will officiate. Burial will follow in the Spring Hope Memorial Gardens, Spring Hope.
Mr. Toney was a retired teacher with the Speight Middle School, Wilson County, member of the Retired Teachers Association, member of the National Education Association, past chairman of The Board of the Directors of the Wilson County Department of Social Services, member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, served as a member of Hope Station, and as a Deacon of St. Stephens' Missionary Baptist Church among other organizations.
Survivors include: wife, Lenora H. Toney; daughter, Erica Toney-Robinson of the home; sons, Benjamin F. Toney Jr., (Angela) of Spring Hope, Kendrick B. Toney, Sr. (Sharon) of Aberdeen, MD and Bart H. Toney of Wilson; brothers, Jenklin Toney Sr. (Patricia) of Fayetteville, Antonio D. Toney of Montclair, NJ; sister, Jeanne H. Garnes of Montclair, NJ; grandchildren, Jasmine Robinson, Charles W. Robinson, III, Jordon Toney, Alexis Toney, Kendrick B Toney, Jr. and Carrington E. Hargrove; six god children, Wanda Edwards, Robin Peppers, Michelle Hargrove, Michael Hargrove, Reece Rowe, James Gunthier; several nieces, nephews, other extended family including Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Carter.
The body may be viewed Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999 from 2-4 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 726 Tarboro St., Wilson. The body will lie in state from 6-8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 7-8 p.m. at the St. Stephens' Missionary Baptist Church, 518 Pine St., Spring Hope, NC and other times, the family will receive friends at the residence where they will assemble one hour prior to the service in preparation for the funeral procession.
HOWARD TSUNG WANG
RALEIGH - Howard Tsung Wang, 50, of 7606 Wellesley Park North, died Thursday at Duke University Medical Center. He was Chief Executive Officer with Global TeleSystems Group, Inc. in the Beijing office.
Funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, Millbrook Road. Burial will follow in Raleigh Memorial Park.
Surviving are his wife, Cindy R. Wang; daughters, Ann and Gloria Wang of Raleigh; brothers, Richard Wang of Logan, Utah, Shiau Kong Wang of Taipei, Taiwan and Chia Lin Wang of Wilmington, Delaware; sisters, Shelly Wang of North Hills, NY, and Linda Wang of Issaquah, Washington.
