EDNA COATS BRADY
SELMA - Edna Coats Brady, 83, died Sunday.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the St. Mary's Grove Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery on Raleigh Road, Benson.
Surviving are her sons, Donald E. Brady and wife, Pat of Scotland Neck and John R. Brady and wife, Jackie of Youngsville; daughter, Phyllis B. Stein of Windsor; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends, in the church, immediately following the service.

OLA SENTER BUFFALOE
CARY - Ola Senter Buffaloe, 82, of 1544 Old Apex Road, died Friday.
Funeral 2 p.m. today, Sugg Funeral Chapel in Fuquay-Varina. Burial in Montlawn Memorial Park.
Surviving: son, Earl Buffaloe of Wendell; grandson, Gary Buffaloe of Wendell; stepson, H. V. Buffaloe, Jr. of Triangle, VA; stepdaughter, Peggy Whitley of Knightdale; sisters, Annie Harris of Greensboro and Ella Naud of Durham.
The family will receive friends 1-2 p.m. today at Sugg Funeral Home in Fuquay-Varina.

ANSON CANNADY
CLINTON - Mr. Anson Cannady, 87, of 3983 Roseboro Hwy, died in Sampson Regional Medical Center, Sunday, February 21, 1999.
Funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday at Elizabeth Baptist Church with Rev. Dudley Neal and Rev. Ray Smith officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was a native of Sampson County, the widower of Mildred Page Cannady and the son of the late Emmerson and Matilda Jane Williams Cannady. He was a retired well driller and furniture store operator. Surviving: two sons, Elbert Cannady of Clinton, Quincy Cannady of Wilmington; six sisters, Lula Pope, Clarice Owens, Lossie Chestnutt, Christine Hall, all of Clinton and Loannie Cole and Elizabeth Allred, both of Asheboro; one step-grandson.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7-9 p.m. at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Elbert Cannady at 83 Memory Lane, Clinton.

ESTELLE H. CRAFT
SARATOGA - Estelle Harrell Craft, 86, widow of Ruel Craft, died Sunday at her home. Funeral 11 a.m. Tuesday, Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Chapel, Wilson. Interment, Craft Family Cemetery near Saratoga.
Surviving: daughter, Ann Craft of Chantilly, VA; son and daughter-in-law, Connor and Ann Craft of Saratoga; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home, today, 7-8:30 p.m., and other times at the home of Connor.
Memorials are suggested to the Saratoga Christian Church, P.O. Box 93, Saratoga, NC 27873, or to the charity of one's choice.

REV. DR. THOMAS M. FREEMAN
DUNN - Rev. Dr. Thomas M. Freeman, 84, of Dunn, died Friday afternoon at Rex Hospital after a recent illness.
The Hickory native was a son of the late John Moten and Lola Katherine Hardin Freeman. Dr. Freeman was a graduate of Mars Hill Junior College, earned a B.A. in history and government from Wake Forest University, and earned a Th.M. at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, KY, received an honorary doctorate from Campbell University in 1972. He served pastorates at Pine Level Baptist Church, Kenly Baptist Church, and Thanksgiving Baptist Churches in Johnston Co., Hocutt Memorial Baptist Church in Burlington, Middle River Baptist Church in Middle River, MD, and was pastor of First Baptist Church of Dunn from 1962 until his retirement in 1985. He was named Pastor Emeritus in 1991. Dr. Freeman served two terms as president of the North Carolina State Baptist Convention, president of Christian Action League for several years, served on the home Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention, as trustee of Campbell University and Wake Forest University and on the Presidential Board of Advisors at Campbell University. Dr. Freeman wrote a religious column for the Dunn Dispatch and Dunn Daily Record from 1962 until his death. He also recorded a weekly Sunday School Lesson distributed by Campbell University to radio stations throughout the state.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Maisie Castlebury Freeman; a son, William H. "Bill" Freeman of Buies Creek; three daughters, Ann F. Gazenbeek of Los Altos, CA, Judith Louise Freeman of Vancouver, WA, and Joy Tilley of Charlottesville, VA; five brothers, Max Freeman of North Wilkesboro, Jack Freeman of Reidsville, William Freeman of Atlanta, GA, and Ronald Freeman and Cecil Freeman both of Dalton, GA; three sisters, Ruth Brown and Tennie Jones both of Hickory and Martha Freeman of North Wilkesboro; four grandchildren, Saskia Gazenbeek, Anton Gazenbeek, Catherine van der Salm and Andrew McRae.
The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Monday evening at Skinner Funeral Home of Dunn.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Harnett County, 111-A North Ellis Ave., Dunn, NC 28334.

JOSEPHINE PARKS HARRIS
ENFIELD - Josephine Parks Harris, 85, died Sunday at Nash General Hospital in Rocky Mount, NC. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Enfield Baptist Church. Rev. David Phillips will officiate. Burial in Elmwood Cemetery in Enfield.
She is survived by: one son, Charles Harris of Enfield; two daughters, Shirley H. Moore of Greenville, NC, Sylvia H. Liverman of Murfreesboro, NC; one sister, Mary P. Sykes of Rocky Mount, NC; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday night from 7-8:30 p.m. at Branch Funeral Home in Enfield, NC.

JESSE W. LINTON
NEWPORT - Jesse W. Linton, 56, died Saturday at Carteret General Hospital in Morehead City.
He was owner and operator of K-Chem Limited and a charter member of The Roosters of Seagate.
Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Munden Funeral Home Chapel in Morehead City.
Surviving are his wife, Jo Ann Davis Linton of Newport; a daughter, Angie Reeves of Vanceboro; a son, Stephen Linton of Havelock; his mother, Ruby Linton of Washington; and sister, Peggy Sutton of Washington.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service and then at their home at 880 Seagate Road, Newport.
Flowers will be welcome or memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, c/o Nations Bank, 4913 Arendell St., Morehead City, NC 28557.

LUCILLE JOHNSON MORGAN
CLAYTON - Lucille Johnson Morgan, 80, formerly of 2328 Shirley Rd., Wilmington, NC, died Friday, February 19, 1999.
Graveside services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, February 22 in the Montlawn Memorial Park. Dr. Roger Horne officiating.
Flowers are acceptable or donations may be made to a Parkinson or Alzheimer's organization of one's choice.

MARY MAGDALENE A. PARKER
BENSON --Mrs. Mary Magdalene A. Parker, formerly of Four Oaks, died Feb. 19, 1999 with her family at her side. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.G. "Will" Parker. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Minshew Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Parker Family Cemetery.
Surviving: daughters, Shirley Parker of Benson, Ethel Mae Holmes of Kernersville, and Sue Parker of Willow Springs; grandchildren, Glenn, Andy and Marty Parker, Ken Holmes, Carol P. Lewis, and Robin H. Wise; 12 great-grandchildren; 16 half brothers and sisters, including a special sister, Catherine Deglow of Smithfield.

COL. (RET) ORLIN W. ROGERS
BLAIRS, VA - Colonel (Ret) Orlin W. Rogers of 3145 Snakepath Road, Blairs, Virginia departed this life on February 20, 1999. Born in 1935, Mr. Rogers served 27 years in the military serving in both World War II and Korea.
Colonel Rogers spent 18 years as head of the military department and baseball and rifle team coach at Hargrave military Academy in Chatham, Virginia.
Mr. Rogers is survived by his daughter, Linda R. Harrill and her husband Scott of Raleigh, NC and Ginger R. Ferrell and her husband Don of Winston-Salem, NC. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Lori Kathrine Hyler and J. Bradley Hyler of Raleigh and Taylor Ferrell and Kelsey Ferrell of Winston-Salem, NC.
Funeral services will be held on February 23 at 1 p.m. at Chestnut Level Baptist Church with burial services at Highland Burial Park in Danville, Virginia. Visitation will be at Scott Funeral Home in Chatham, Virginia from 7-9 p.m. on February 22 and other times at the family home.
Contributions may be made to Hargrave military Academy, Chestnut Level Baptist Church or a charity of choice.

DOROTHY C. SAYLORS
FUQUAY-VARINA - Dorothy Clark Saylors, 75, died Saturday, February 20, 1999.
Memorial service 2 p.m. Monday, February 22, 1999 at Thomas Funeral Home Chapel.
Surviving: husband, Luther Saylors; son, Michael Clark Saylors and wife, Martha of Goldsboro; grandsons, Jason Saylors of Raleigh, Kyle Saylors of Chapel Hill and Paul Saylors of Goldsboro.
The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rex Cancer Center, 4420 Lake Boone Trail, Raleigh, N.C. 27607.

EDNA LUCILE TOMLINSON
WILSON - Edna Lucile Tomlinson, 92, died Sunday in Fuquay-Varina. She taught fourth grade at Winstead School in Wilson for many years and was a member of First Baptist Church, Woman's Club and the Daughters of the Confederacy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Nannie Davis Tomlinson; sisters, Mary Long of Charlottesville, VA, and Mildred Noterman of Wilkes-Barre, PA; brother, Jake Tomlinson of Fairfax, VA.
Funeral, 3 p.m. Tuesday at Maplewood Cemetery (old section).
Surviving: sister, Lillian T. Smith of Fuquay-Varina; sister-in-law, Marie Williamson Tomlinson of Fairfax, VA; brother-in-law, Bill Long of Boulder, CO; several nieces and nephews.
The family will be at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Service, Wilson, today, 7-8:30.

Mr. JESSE THOMAS "JAKE" TURNER
NEW BERN - Jesse Thomas "Jake" Turner, 91, formerly of Raleigh, died Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999 at Bayview Nursing Center in New Bern.
Mr. Turner retired from the Wake County Sheriff's Department after serving as a deputy for 25 years. After his retirement, Mr. Turner lived in Tampa, Florida until last year when he returned to North Carolina.
Survivors include a son, Carl Turner and his wife, Susan of New Bern; a sister, Mrs. Lessie Holmquist of Raleigh; two grandsons, Carl Turner Jr. of Chicago, Ill. and Claude Turner of New Bern; two granddaughters, Lanelle Shopshire of Morehead City and Wanda Godwin of Newport.
Mr. Turner was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Agnes Godwin.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Avenue. Interment will follow in Raleigh Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Avenue.
Memorial contribution may be made to Creedmoor Road Baptist Church, 6001 Creedmoor Road, Raleigh, N.C. 27612; or to the American Cancer Society, 11 South Boylan Ave, Raleigh, N.C. 27603.

VIRGINIA R. WALL
DURHAM - Mrs. Virginia Roberson Wall, 83, resident of 1608 E. Geer St., died Saturday morning at 1917 Faucette Avenue, following declining health. She was born in Durham, the only daughter of the late Dr. Michael and Myrtle Gooch Roberson. She was married for 55 years to the late Rand Al Wall, Sr. Mrs. Wall was a member of Gorman Baptist Church. She was an active member for over 60 years, had been the church teller for 33 years, a teacher and member of the Friendship Bible Class. She had served as the superintendent of the junior department for many years. She sung in the church choir and was a Sunday School teacher at Gorman. To all who knew her she was an angel.
Surviving are one daughter, Miss Ann Wall, who lived with her at home; one son, Rand A. "Al" Wall, Jr. and daughter-in-law of Fairfax, VA; and other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday in Gorman Baptist Church by Rev. Julian Motley and Rev. Tim Wheeler. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Harvey A. Wall, Jr., Josh Wall, Alf Wall, Billy Gooch, Tommy Garner and Steven Wall. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Monday evening at Clements Funeral Home.
Flowers are acceptable or those wishing may make memorial contributions to the Alzheimers Research, c/o Duke University Medical Center, Durham, NC 27710.

MABEL DOUB WESTMORELAND
KING, NC - Mrs. Mabel Doub Westmoreland, 82, widow of Mr. Mack Rae Westmoreland, of 328 Maverick Trail Drive, (formerly of 154 East Westmoreland Road) King, NC died late Saturday evening February 21, 1999 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, NC.
Mrs. Westmoreland was born in Forsyth County, June 23, 1916 to the late Numa Gray and Della Elizabeth Anderson Doub. She was a retired employee of the Rupert Hall Nationwide Insurance Agency in King, NC. Mrs. Westmoreland was an active member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Dora Boyles Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Women.
Surviving are her daughter, Frances Jessup of King, NC; two grandsons, Jody Jessup of Charlotte, NC, Jeff Jessup of Wilmington, NC; three sisters, Evelyn Hendrix of Tobaccoville, NC, Lou Boyles of Tobaccoville, NC, Pearl Swygert of Raleigh, NC.
Mrs. Westmoreland was preceded in death by: a son-in-law, Billy Lee Jessup, one brother, Jack Doub.
Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday afternoon, February 23, 1999 at 3 p.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church by Rev. Mark D. Mashburn. Burial will be in the Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Westmoreland is at the Cox-Needham Funeral Home and Chapel in Pilot Mountain, NC and will be taken to the Trinity United Methodist Church Monday afternoon February 22, 1999 at 5:30 p.m. Mrs. Westmoreland will remain at the Trinity United Methodist Church until the hour of the funeral services.
The family will receive friends at the Trinity United Methodist Church Monday evening, February 22, 1999 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and at other times at 328 Maverick Trail Drive, King, NC 27021.
Memorials may be made to the Building Fund of Trinity United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 823, King, NC 27021.
