Surviving: daughters, Marjorie M. Peterson, Gwenerva M. Williams, both of Raleigh; sons, Charles C. Howard (Roberta) of Raleigh, Robert M. Howard (Essie) of Jersey City, NJ., Clarence E. Williams of Raleigh, Robert M. Howard Jr. of Raleigh; daughter-in-law, Dallie S. Williams of Raleigh; 26 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation from 7:30-8:30 p.m. Monday at the church.

FELICIA PANNESI DESIMONE
CARY - Felicia Pannesi DeSimone, 87, of Cary died Sunday, May 30, 1999.
A funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Andrew's Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Raleigh.
Surviving are husband, Nicholas DeSimone; daughter, Joan Chiklis of Cary; sons, Dr. Robert DeSimone of Cary, Richard DeSimone of Woburn, MA; sisters, Angelina Heino and Anna Flodstrom, both of Arlington, MA; brothers, David Pannesi and P. Alfred Pannesi both of Watertown, MA; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends and relatives at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary, on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 3901 Computer Drive, Suite 110, Raleigh, NC 27609.

BOBBY C. EDGERTON
ANGIER - Bobby Curtis Edgerton, 67, of 680 Wiggins Road, a retired employee with Square D Corporation, died Saturday. After retirement, Mr. Edgerton began Edgerton Enterprises.
Funeral Service 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel, Angier. Burial, Fellowship Community Cemetery.
Surviving: wife, Dorothy Stephenson Edgerton; daughter, Sarita E. Deans of Angier; son, Kevin C. Edgerton of Greenville; sisters, Muriel E. Stevens of Dunn, Emeline E. Higgins of Benson, Barnie E. Barr of Raleigh, and LaRue E. Sills of Bunnlevel; brother, Henry F. Edgerton of Pilot; five grandchildren and six step-grandchildren.
Visitation, 7-9 p.m. today at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier.
Contributions may be made to the Hickory Grove Advent Christian Church Building Fund, 2595 Lassiter Road, Four Oaks, NC.

LYMAN EARL HARRIS
AYDEN - Mr. Lyman Earl Harris, 78, died Sunday, May 30, 1999.
Funeral service Tuesday 2 p.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Pinewood Memorial Park.
Surviving: wife, Mary Edna Humphrey Harris; son, Tony Lynn Harris of Ayden; daughters, Jeannette Harris Whiteman of Sanford and Elaine Harris Hardin of Wake Forest; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation Monday from 7-9 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home.

ROBERT P. LEINGANG SR.
RALEIGH - MR. ROBERT PAUL Leingang Sr., 84, died today.
Graveside service will be held Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. at the Pinecrest Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
He is survived by two daughters, JacquelynBrown of Raleigh and Pamela Jones of Raleigh; son, Robert Leingang Jr. of Raleigh; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 tonight at McLaurin Funeral Home.

MRS. EULA D. REGISTER
BENSON - Mrs. Eula Davis Register, 91, of 932 Ivey Road, died Sunday.
She was born October 20, 1907 in Hoke County.
She was the widow of the late John Daniel Register and was preceded in death by a daughter, Catherine Register.
Mrs. Register was a homemaker and farmer, a member of Benson Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church and the Benson Senior Center.
Funeral service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Benson Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church. Revs. Glenn McCullen and Hubert Morgan will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.
Surviving: daughters, and sons-in-law, Janie Reaves of Durham, Mavecine and Donald Tanner, Ann and Durwood Allen, Linda and Clifford Jernigan, all of Benson; sons and daughters-in-law, Melvin and Rachel Register of Jacksonville, Fl., J.E. and Linda Register of Surf City, J.D. and Judy Register of Willow Springs, Jerry and Louise Register of Benson; 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
The family will be at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson from 7-9 p.m. Monday and at other times at the home of Clifford and Linda Jernigan, 968 Ivey Road, Benson, NC.

NATHAN STANLEY RIDDICK
BELVIDERE - Nathan Stanley Riddick, 64, of Rt. #1, Belvidere, NC died Sunday morning in the Albemarle Hospital. He was a native of Perquimans County and was a farmer. Mr. Riddick was the son of the late Nathan Adolphus and Quince Stallings Riddick and the husband of Dorothy White Riddick. He was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church.
Besides his wife, Mr. Riddick is survived by three daughters, Gwendolyn Bistarkey of Palm Bay, FL, Ronda Lynch of Monroe, NC and Sharon Klotz of Port Ritchey, FL; a son, David S. Riddick of Belvidere, NC; three grandchildren, Jared Riddick, Joseph Riddick both of Belvidere and Megan Klotz of Port Ritchey, FL.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Frances.
Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, June 2, 1999, at 11:00 o'clock in the Cedarwood Cemetery by Rev. Jim Krepps. Twiford's Memorial Chapel, Church Street, Elizabeth City is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will be at their residence.

DAVID HAROLD SMITH
AYDEN - David Harold Smith, age 71, died Sunday, May 30, 1999 in Beaufort Co. Hospital in Washington, NC. Funeral service 2 p.m. Tuesday in Ayden Christian Church. Burial in Ayden Cemetery.
Mr. Smith was a member of Ayden Christian Church and a farmer. He served in the US Air Force in Korea; a past Chairman of the Board of East Carolina Farm Credit and a Board member for 34 years; member of the Board of Directors of Centura Bank; President of Pitt County Farm Bureau; Chairman, Pitt County Drainage Commission; graduate of NC State University in Agronomy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David Hancock and Vermelle Worthington Smith, and a sister, Jeanette S. Ruedrick.
Survivors include his wife, Mamie Wooten Smith of the home; son, Kenneth Harold Smith of Ayden; daughter, Darlene Smith Worthington of Ayden; sisters, Frances Smith Springett of Myrtle Beach, SC and Charlene Smith Bennett of Winston-Salem; two grandchildren, Jordon Smith and David Worthington of Ayden.
Visitation 7-9 p.m. Monday at Farmer Funeral Service, Ayden, NC.
Memorials may be given to Ayden Christian Church, 115 West 2nd Street, Ayden, NC 28513.

W. MILO TURNIPSEED
WENDELL - Willard Milo Turnipseed, 61, of 6220 Turnipseed Road, died Sunday, May 30, 1999 at Rex Hospital.
Milo worked with Raleigh Glass and Mirror in residential sales for 20 years.
He was the son of the late Frank Robert Turnipseed and Mary Weathers Turnipseed.
Funeral service 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 1999 at Clydes Chapel Baptist Church. Burial, Montlawn Memorial Park.
Surviving: wife, Betty Perry Turnipseed; daughter, Kimberly Ann T. Hamilton and her husband, Jim of Raleigh; grandson, Marc Hamilton; brother, Frank Marion Turnipseed and his wife, June of Cary; nephew, Phil Turnipseed and his wife, Brenda of Goldsboro; great-niece, Kelly Turnipseed of Goldsboro.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 7-9 p.m. Monday, May 31, 1999 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service and Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545; and other times at the home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Clydes Chapel Baptist Church Building Fund, 16657 Buffaloe Road, Wendell, NC.

KATHY WALTERS Y.
RALEIGH - Kathy Walters, 55, of Raleigh, died Saturday, May 29, 1999. Mrs. Walters was born in Sabine, West Virginia, the daughter of the late, Otis and Ruth Davis.
Funeral services will be held at a later date in Worthington, Ohio.
Surviving are her husband, Jerry Walters; son, John Walters; daughter, Jill W. Putman of Syracuse, NY; four brothers and six sisters; four grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Wake County Unit, 620 W. Morgan St., Raleigh, NC 27603.
The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m., Monday, May 31, 1999 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, Millbrook Rd.

THOMAS LEE WATSON
TROY - Thomas Lee Watson, 65, of 849 Holly Mt. Church Rd., Candor, NC died Sunday, May 30, 1999 at his residence. Graveside service 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 1999 at Holly Mount Baptist Church Cemetery, Rt. 3, Mt. Gilead, NC. Conducted by Rev. Mitchell Walker. Burial, Holly Mount Baptist Church Cemetery, Mt. Gilead. Native of Wake County, retired truck drive for Cleveland Plants and Flowers.
Surviving: wife, Willie Brooks Watson of the home, Candor, NC; daughters, Linda W. Shepard, Teresa Watson, both of Candor, NC; son, Alan Watson of Wendell; four grandchildren.
Visitation, immediately before the funeral service, Tuesday, June 1, 1999 at the Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy, NC.

WENDELL PULLEN
CARY - Wendell Pullen, 69, of Cary, died January 18, at Western Wake Medical Center.
A native of New Hampshire, Mr. Pullen was a graduate of Duke University. He had been affiliated with General Electric and United Technologies as a Computer Applications Manager and with the Travelers until his retirement in 1994. Having attained the rank of Captain in the U.S. Marine Corps., Mr. Pullen received combat decorations in Korea. He was a member of the World Affairs Association, the Jaycees - Exec. V.P.E., Designer of the Bloomfield, Ct. Korean War Memorial, a member of the San Francisco South Bay Jazz Society and charter member and Commodore of the North Carolina Oodyc and Connecticut GGC. He was a Naturalist and Humanitarian.
Mr. Pullen is survived by his wife, Janet Davis Pullen; three children, Wendy Hudson of Cary, Rudy Pullen of Mystic, Ct., Pamela Miller of Ogunquit, ME; five grandchildren; brothers Charles and Robert of Ft. Myers, FL and sisters, Marilyn DuCharme of Candler, NC and Shirley Hubbard of Ossipee, NH.
A memorial service will be held at the Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary on Thursday, January 21, at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 3901 Computer Drive, Suite 110, Raleigh, NC 27609 or to The American Diabetes. Association, 434 Fayetteville St., 2 Hanover Square - Suite 1600, Raleigh, NC 27601-1764.

HUGH LEE ALTMAN
JUNE 8, 1914-JAN. 19, 1999
ANGIER - Hugh Lee Altman, 84, a retired farmer, of 2800 Matthews Mill Road, died Tuesday.
Funeral service 11 a.m. Thursday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel, Angier. Burial, Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
Surviving: wife, Verona Norris Altman; daughter, Gail A. Fish and her husband Kenneth Fish of Willow Spring; sons, Bruce Altman and his wife, Sarah Altman of Raleigh and Jerry Altman of Sanford; sisters, Iva Miller of Dunn and Ruby Weaver of Coats; brother, Garland "Tom" Altman of Angier; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Altman was preceded in death by his first wife, Maude Cook Altman on Sept. 4, 1991.
Visitation, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier.

EDWARD E. "PETE" EVERETT
DEC. 4, 1919-JAN. 18, 1999
GARNER - Edward Exum "Pete" Everett, 79, of 1306 Frederick Drive, a retired employee of the Purchasing Contract Dept. of the NC Dept. of Administration, died Monday. Born in Perquimans Co., he was raised in Edenton. He was a member of the Garner United Methodist Church and the Raleigh Sports Club. A graduate of Porter military Academy in Charleston, SC and a graduate of East Carolina University, he was an avid supporter and one of the founding members of the ECTC Club. Mr. Everett taught school and coached in Washington, NC and coached little league ball in the Garner area for several years. He also was a World War II Veteran serving as a Army Combat Engineer.
Funeral service, 1 p.m. Thursday at Garner United Methodist Church. Burial, Montlawn Memorial Park.
Surviving: wife, Ruby Hawkins Everett; daughter, Blair Everett Hughes and her husband, John Hughes of Raleigh; son, Edward Exum Everett, Jr. and his wife, Kay Everett of Hong Kong; sister, Ethelyn E. Ligon of Raleigh; grandson, Grant Parker Everett of Hong Kong.
Visitation 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner.
