CARY - Robert A. Bilgreen, 75, passed away April 16, 1999.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Bilgreen; daughters, Mrs. Peggy Sich of Kalamazoo, MI, Mrs. Kathy Lange of Sterling, VA; son, David Bilgreen of St. Louis, MO; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 19, 1999, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the American Diabetes. Association or National Parkinson's Foundation.

JERRY RAY BOBBITT
ZEBULON - Jerry Ray Bobbitt, 63, of 1316 Carroll Height Rd., died Friday. Jerry was retired from NCDOT.
Funeral service 11 a.m. Monday, Massey Funeral Home chapel. Burial, Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.
Surviving: daughter, Jerri Bobbitt of Zebulon; sons, Bryan Bobbitt of Wendell, Tommy Bobbitt of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl.; sisters, Parie Leigh Hathcock, Inez Stallings, Eloise Huyett, all of Zebulon, Barbara Jeans of Durham, Virginia Smith of Jacksonville; brothers, Fred Bobbitt of Middlesex, Wayne Bobbitt of Zebulon; two granddaughters.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

HETTER MAE SCOTT BYRD
RALEIGH - Hetter Mae Scott Byrd, 94, died April 15, 1999 at Rex Hospital.
She was a lifelong resident of Chatham County in the Farrington Community.
Funeral service will be held Sunday, April 18, 1999 in the Bell's Baptist Church on Farrington Road in Chatham County, officiating will be Rev. Rick Washington. Burial will in the Martha's Chapel Christian Church Cemetery on HWY. 751 in Chatham County.
Survivors are: one son, James Frank Scott and wife, Nancy of Raleigh, preceded in death by a son, O.L. Scott Jr.; two granddaughters, Valerie Scott Booker of Sutherlin, Va. and Melissa Scott Black of Raleigh; two stepdaughters, Mary Goodmanson of Sun City, Fla., and Grace Scott Poe of Durham; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mabel Wood and Clara Belle Page of Durham, Lucille Spence of Florida.
She was also preceded in death by six brothers, Glenn Jenkins, Hubert Jenkins, Grayson Jenkins, Russell Jenkins, Eugene Jenkins and Curtis Lee Jenkins.
The family will receive friends following the Grave services at Martha's Chapel Christian Church Cemetery.
Arrangements are with Apex Funeral Home, 511 West Williams St. (Hwy 55), Apex, NC.

HETTER MAE SCOTT BYRD
RALEIGH - Hetter Mae Scott Byrd, 94, died April 15, 1999 at Rex Hospital.

AARON H. COLE
CLAYTON - Infant Aaron Henry Cole, of Stephanie Lane, died Thursday, Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at McLaurin Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. Rev. Joseph G. Mulroney officiating.
He is survived by parents, Andy and Lillian L. Cole of Clayton; maternal grandparents, Rita and William Lohman Sr. of Holly Springs; paternal grandparents, Henry and Pat Cole of Dover; paternal great-grandmother, Estelle Cole of Dover; aunts and uncles, Diane Cole, Laura and Edmond Paolantonio, William Lohman Jr., Billie Jean Hodges, Sue and William Simkiss, Daniel Lohman, Nancy and Daniel Doulin, Andrew and Karen Lohman, Julia Lohman, John and Jessica Lohman.

CALLIE ESTELLE GODWIN
JACKSONVILLE - Callie Estelle Godwin, died Friday at Onslow Memorial Hospital. Funeral 1 p.m. Monday, April 19, 1999 Jones Funeral Home Chapel, Jacksonville. Rev. Roy Parker officiating. Burial, Onslow Memorial Park.
Visitation 7-9 p.m. Sunday night at Jones Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband William James Godwin.
Surviving: daughters, Ruth Kellum of Raleigh, Evelyn Cavenaugh of Richlands, Ann Aman of Dunn, Linda Kay Atkins of Carthage; sons, Roy Lee Godwin of Raleigh, George Godwin of Maple Hill; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.

STEWART D. HAIRR
GARNER - Mr. Stewart D. Hairr, 65, of 700 Frances Drive, died Saturday, April 17, 1999.
Funeral 11 a.m. Monday, April, 19, 1999, West & Dunn Funeral Home Chapel, Newton Grove. Burial, Bradshaw Cemetery, Newton Grove.
Surviving: wife, Marie Clifton Hairr; son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Helen Hairr of Angier; son and friend Gary Hairr and friend Ronda Clapp of Garner; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Keith Hill of Apex; brothers, David Hairr of Newton Grove, Archie S. Hairr of Newton Grove, Fulton Hairr of Newton Grove; grandson, Andrew Hill; three stepchildren, Michelle Davis, Jennifer Sorrell, Melissa Lee; nephew, Joey Hairr.

FRANCES B. HALL
SIMS - Frances Bunn Hall, 80, died April 16, 1999. She was born October 9, 1918. Funeral service 2 p.m. April 18, 1999 at New Sandy Hill FWB Church, with the Rev. Charles Petit, officiating. Burial, Bailey Cemetery.
Survivors: daughters, Mary B. Lewis of Raleigh, Barbara H. Manning of Sims; grandchildren, Brian Manning, Joan Neal, Sharon Keeter, Melanie Theriault, and Diane Wolf; brother, Hubert B. Bunn of Knightdale; special niece, Ann B. Tripp of Raleigh; six great-grandchildren.
Arrangements by Joyner's Funeral Home, Wilson.

GUY W. HILL
ALAMONTE-SPRINGS, FLA. - Guy W. Hill, 68, of Tavares, who passed away Friday, will be celebrated Wednesday, 11 a.m. April 21 at the Church of the Annunciation with Fr. David McBriar as Celebrant.
Visitation for friends will be Tuesday, from 7-9 p.m. at the Altamonte Chapel of the Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home. Mr. Hill is survived by his wife, Adela; sons, J. Michael and Bonnie Hill and J. Patrick (Toby) and Elizabeth (Tuny) Hill; sisters, Edna Lee and Helen VanZant; brothers, Harry and Gene Hill; grandsons, Christopher Michael Hill, Guy Andrew Hill and James Matthew Hill.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital, Memphis, Tennesse or Hospice of Lake/Sumpter County.
A reception will be held immediately following the service, for family and friends, at the resident, 11435 Lane Park Road, Tavares, Florida, 32778.

HARRISON A. HOAGLAND
MAY 15, 1913 - APRIL 6, 1999
BELLEAIR BLUFFS, FL - Harrison A. Hoagland, 85, of Belleair Bluffs, FL died April 6, 1999 of Parkinson's Disease.
He was born in Oak Hill, NY, eldest son of Cecil and Lucie (Harrison) Hoagland. He was married to Marie L. Pethick (1914-1983) from Windsor, NY. During 1984 he married Jean Read from Largo, FL and has been living in the Largo-Clearwater area until the time of his death.
He served in the US Navy during 1928-34 and the US Naval Reserve during 1946-51. He was a member of the "US Battleship Association" and the "New York Battleship Association". He was a 42-year (lifetime) member of the US Power Squadron, earning 35 Merit Marks during his years of service. Harrison was also a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Episcopalian Church.
He retired in 1972 from the IBM RTP complex as a Manufacturing Engineer after 35 years of service, including 29 years in the Endicott and Owego facilities in New York.
Following his love of the water and life long interest in boating, he had homes in Cape Carteret, New Bern following retirement and finally settled in Apollo Beach, FL during 1981.
Survivors include his wife, Jean; sons, Douglas (Carol) of Reston, VA, Philip (Jennie) of Weyers Cave, VA and Gerald (Julie) of Cary, NC; daughter, Lynne Secrest of Cary, NC; step-daughter Pattie Patterson of Clearwater, FL; stepson, Tom Read of Cornwall England; two sisters; one brother; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
A family graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., April 24th at Raleigh Memorial Park.

J. W. JOHNSON
BENSON - Jimmy Waylon "J. W." Johnson, Sr., 60, of 309 W. Church St., died Saturday morning. A native of Johnston County, he was born May 26, 1938, to the late Henry Wesley and Annie Massengill Johnson. He was a retired farmer.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Johnson Family Cemetery near Benson. Revs. Trent Watts and Ralph Strickland will officiate.
Surviving: wife, Libby Massad Johnson; son, Jimmy Johnson of Benson; brothers, A. R. Johnson of Dunn and George P. Johnson of Benson; sisters, Eula J. Thornberg of Raeford, Shirley J. Johnson and Eva Wood Ivey of Benson; two granddaughters, Jonna Marie Johnson and Victoria Danielle Johnson.
The family will be at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson from 7-9 p.m. Sunday.

AILENE Y. LANCASTER
ATLANTA, GA. - Ailene Young Lancaster, age 94 of Atlanta died April 15, 1999 after a long illness. A native of North Carolina, Mrs. Lancaster resided in Atlanta, since 1940. She was a 1928 graduate of Meredith College in Raleigh, N.C., active in Baptist and civic affairs, she was a member of the Druid Hills Baptist where she held many leadership positions including President of the W.M.U. (Womens Missionary Union). She was also a member and past president of the Lavista Women's Club. Mrs. Lancaster was preceded in death by her husband Robert Linwood Lancaster and her son Robert Linwood Lancaster III.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Annette M. Lancaster of Atlanta and three grandchildren, Carol L. Milano, Geri L. Lancaster, Robert D. Lancaster, one great grandchild, Helen Crisler Milano and several nieces and nephews,
Graveside services will be held Monday, April 19, 1999 at 11 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery.

LOVIE E. McELROY
APEX - Lovie E. McElroy, Sr., 80, of Apex, North Carolina died April 14, 1999, at Rex Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
After retiring from the U.S. Government in Washington, D.C. Mr. McElroy and his wife, Hazel, relocated to the Cary-Apex area. He was a member of the Greenwood Forest baptist Church, Cary Masonic Lodge, and the Amran Temple. Mac was an avid pigeon fancier and world-renowned expert on racing pigeons.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel; sons, Stephen and L.E. McElroy, Jr.; Grandsons, Mark and Shawn; honorary granddaughter, Kimberly Wells; and great-granddaughter, Hannah, all of Cary and Apex; and brothers William H. McElroy, Harris McElroy; and sister, Annette Peck, of Georgia.
Celebration of Life Service will be held April 19, 1999 at 6:45 p.m. at Greenwood Forest Baptist Church in Cary. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Wake County.

BETH "MAMA LEE" MORGAN
APRIL 16, 1920-APRIL 17, 1999
RALEIGH - "She has achieved success who has lived well, laughed often and loved much."
Mama Lee passed away peacefully after her birthday and will join her family in a private graveside service this week. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Howard Lee and Bim Morgan, daughter Pat, and brother John.
She is survived by her son and wife, Steve and Martha Lee; a daughter, Alex and husband Jim Magner; five grandchildren, Tres, Lee, Page, Steve and Kit; two great-grandchildren, Alex and Kelly; special friend, Carolyn; brothers, Joe and David Alexander and sister, Phyllis Britt.

CHRISTINE B. OLIVE
FOUR OAKS - Mrs. Christine Byrd Olive, 90, of Four Oaks, died Friday, April 16, 1999 at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
She is surviving by her son, Frank and his wife Betsy, of Smithfield. Also surviving is a sister, Betty Lee Parker of Four Oaks; and a brother, Hunter Byrd of Smithfield. She was the widow of William F. (Bill) Olive.
The funeral service will be Sunday, April 18, 1999 at 3 p.m. at Minshew Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. John Causey officiating.
Visitation will follow until 5 p.m. Interment will be private.
