ELIZABETH C. ROTCHFORD
RALEIGH - Elizabeth Campbell Rotchford, 80, died Thursday evening at Rex Hospital with her family at her side. Born October 5, 1918, in Bullock, NC, she became a secretary in Butner where she met her future husband, William D. Rotchford. They were married after World War II and moved to New York, NY. They relocated to Chicago and had two children and later moved to Raleigh where they had two additional children. She became an employee for the State Department of Transportation where she later retired. Mrs. Rotchford was an active member of Temple Baptist Church and sang in the choir. She also enjoyed the Lions Club Senior Citizen's Group.
Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at Temple Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.
Surviving are three daughters, Michele Temple and her husband, Johnnie, Suzanne Moore and her husband, Rick, and Jeannette Oliver and her husband, Jerry, all of Raleigh; a son, Bill Rotchford and his wife, Laurie, also of Raleigh; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two sisters, Evelyn Jordan of Winston-Salem and Carolyn Thomerson of Durham; a brother-in-law, Simon T. Maloney of Fairlawn, NJ; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, William D. Rotchford.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 3901 Computer Drive, Suite 110, Raleigh, NC 27609 or the Lung Association of NC, 800 St. Mary's St., Raleigh, NC 27605.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 1999, at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, Saint Mary's St.

NELLIE VEST ADKINS
EDEN - Nellie Vest Adkins, 99, of 247 Country Club Dr., Eden, died Friday morning, Jan. 29th at Wesley Long Nursing and Rehab. Center, Greensboro, NC. She was born in Floyd Co., VA and attended First United Methodist Church. She was a former member of Drapper Women Club, United Methodist Women, life membership, Mother of the Year 1970, former and faithful member of the choir and she was a homemaker. Funeral service 2 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church. Burial, Dan View Cemetery.
Surviving: daughter and son-in-law, Iris A. and Ralph Patton of Greensboro, Agnes A. and Robert Martin of Eden, Nell A. and Mel Finch of Raleigh; son and daughter-in-law, Clyde C. and Monica Adkins of Greensboro; sisters, Claudine V. Fain of Eden, Lois V. Bailey of Stuart, VA; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clyde C. Adkins.
Visitation, 7-9 p.m. Saturday evening at Fiar Funeral Home; and other times at the home 247 Country Club Drive, Eden, NC.
Arrangements by Fair Funeral Home.

MARY MAURIE ANDERSON
TARBORO - Mary Maurie Anderson, 92, died Friday.
Graveside service, Sunday 2 p.m. in Greenwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Robert E. Burns III officiating.
Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her husband, Luke N. Anderson.
She was the mother of the founder of the Mary Frances Center, which he named after her.
Survivors: son, Lynn Anderson of Tarboro; sister, Selma Alford of Wendell.
in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Edgecombe County Rescue Squad.
The family will receive at Mrs. Anderson's home, Saturday from 6-9 p.m.

MARGIE ELLEN BAILEY
RALEIGH - Margie Ellen Bailey, 92 OF 10841 Old Stage Road, passed on Tuesday morning at her home.
Funeral 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Rock Springs United Church of Christ, Creedmoor.
Surviving: daughter, Ruth B. Bryant of the home; sons, Onest Bailey of Raleigh, Thomas Bailey, Carlie Bailey, both of Raleigh, Carl Bailey of Charlotte, Gurvis Bailey Jr. of Orange, Va.; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Visitation 7-8:30 p.m. today, Poplar Springs Church, Old Stage Road, Raleigh.
Service under the direction of Trice Funeral Home, Fuquay-Varina.

RUSSELL A. BOSTIC MAY 18, 1937 - JAN. 28, 1999

BEULAVILLE - Mr. Russell Alton Bostic of Beulaville passed away in NC Memorial Hospital, Chapel Hill, NC.
Mr. Bostic graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1958 and was a longtime faithful "Tarheel.' He was a leader in the Beulaville and Duplin County areas. He was the owner of Bostic Drug Company in Beulaville that served the Beulaville community for 30 years.
Mr. Bostic was a member and leader in the Beulaville Presbyterian Church. He was instrumental in bringing the Phillip Leff Memorial Library to Beulaville. He served on many boards in Beulaville and Duplin County and will always be remembered for his foresight and his commitment to bettering the lifestyle for all of the community.
Mr. Bostic was a devoted husband and father who is survived by his wife, Doris, and three children, Darren Bostic and his wife Betzi of Harrisonburg, Virginia, Dawn Lane and her husband Mark of Beulaville, Dia Mercer and her husband Jeremy of Raleigh, along with five grandchildren and a sister, Brenda Harrell, of Beulaville.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 31, 1999 at the Beulaville Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in East Duplin Memorial Gardens in Beulaville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Beulaville Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 363, Beulaville, NC 28518, or to the Phillip Leff Memorial Library.

DONALD F. BRUMAN
SOUTHERN PINES - Mr. Donald F. Bruman, 69, of Knollwood Village, passed away on January 27, 1999, at First Health Moore Regional Hospital. The Rochester, New York native was the son of Melvin and Catherine Bruman.
Surviving are his wife, Beverly Bruman of Southern Pines, North Carolina; three sons, David Bruman of Dallas, Texas, Michael Bruman of L.A., California, and Steven Bruman of New York, New York; one daughter, Karen and Thomas Acker of Apex, North Carolina; one sister, Elizabeth and Jack Johnston of Benton of Harbor, Michigan; and two grandchildren, Coleman Bruman of Dallas, Texas, and Timothy Acker of Apex, North Carolina, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial Service will be held in Rochester, New York, and will be announced at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 951, Southern Pines, NC 28388.

SAMUEL N. CLARK JR MARCH 23, 1924 - JAN. 29, 1999

TARBORO - Samuel Nash Clark, Jr. of Tarboro, N.C. died January 29, 1999. He was born March 23, 1914, the son of the late Samuel Nash Clark and Louise Wilson Clark and the grandson of the late William Samuel Clark and Lossie Grist Clark, all of Tarboro.
Mr. Clark was a graduate of Episcopal High School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he later served as a member of the Board of Trustees. While at the University of North Carolina, he was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity and manager of the football team.
Mr. Clark was President and Chairman of the Board of W. S. Clark and Sons, a family business founded by his grandfather. He served on numerous boards and civic organizations, including Chairman of the Board of Edgecombe Bank and Trust Co., a member of the board of Edgecombe Savings and Loan, Chairman of the Edgecombe County School Board and the Edgecombe County Planning Board. He was a member of the Society of Cincinnati.
A lifelong member of Calvary Episcopal Church, Mr. Clark served on the Vestry as both Junior and Senior Warden.
His special interests included his extensive camellia garden and the Hatteras Marlin Club where he served as Commodore.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn Huffines Clark
He is survived by his wife, Mary Leggett Clark; daughters, Caroline C. Trask of Beaufort, SC, Eleanor C. Larsen of Rocky Mount, NC, Rena C. Harris and Louise C. Poitras of Tarboro, NC; sister, Nancy C. Stronach of Wilson, NC; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, January 31, 1999 at Calvary Episcopal Church in Tarboro.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Calvary Episcopal Churchyard Fund, 411 E. Church St., Tarboro, NC 27886.

RUTH W. DADDOW
CHAPEL HILL - Ruth Weed Daddow, resident of Carolina Meadows, Chapel Hill, NC, died at UNC Memorial Hospital on January 28, 1999 after a two week illness.
She is survived by her husband, Theodore R. Daddow, her daughter, Barbara H. Grizzle, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Daddow was born November 19, 1906 in Stamford, CT. In 1925, she married Reverend William L. Huntsman, pastor in the Presbyterian Church. They served churches in Roseland, NJ, Kinderhook and Bayside, NY and in the early 1940's moved to Kentucky where they served for eight years as Dutch Reformed Church Missionaries to the mountain people of Jackson County, Kentucky. The Huntsmans spent a brief time at the Community Church at Oak Ridge, TN before accepting a pastorate at Glasgow Presbyterian Church, Glasgow, KY. They remained there until Mr. Huntsman's retirement due to ill health, when they moved to Englewood, FL. In Florida, Ruth served as Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce until her husband's death, at which time she moved to Chapel Hill, NC to be near her daughter.
In 1976, Ruth and Theodore R. Daddow were married. They have lived in Carolina Meadows since 1990. Mrs. Daddow was active in church and community affairs in all the places that she has lived.
A memorial service will be at Carolina Meadows, Saturday, February 13, 1999, at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial gift may be sent to the Interfaith Council, Chapel Hill, NC>
Arrangements are by the Cremation Society of the Carolinas, Inc., Raleigh.

1, HARRISON RICHARD DALZELL, USMC RET.
KINSTON - Harrison Richard Dalzell, 81, of 2700 Hodges Road, died Friday, January 29, 1999 at Pitt Memorial Hospital. He was a retired master sergeant pilot, with the United States Marine Corps.
Memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, 1999 at the First Presbyterian Church in Kinston, with the Reverend David Bowman officiating. Private burial at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
Surviving: wife, Gertrude Flagg Dalzell of Kinston; stepson, Dr. William M. Bogey Jr., and wife, Anne Bogey of Greenville; daughter-in-law, Juanita Dalzell of Chapel Hill; grandchildren, William M. Bogey III, Kristen A. Bogey and Andrew Dalzell.
Mr. Dalzell was preceded in death by a son, Michael Dalzell.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, veteran of WWII, served during the Korean Conflict and the Viet-Nam era in which he received the Bronze Star, Mr. Dalzell retired in 1978.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 2101 N. Herritage St., Kinston, N.C. 28501.

MARTHA DREW DAVIS
TEACHEY - Mrs. Martha Drew Davis, 89, of 372 Corinth Church Road, died Thursday night, January 28, 1999, at Huntington Health Care in Burgaw. Funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999 from the Padgett Funeral chapel conducted by Rev. Ronald Ginn. Burial will follow in Rockfish Memorial Cemetery.
She is survived by two sisters, Dorothy Drew Brown of Durham, Lula Mae Drew Rouse and husband, Eugene of Rose Hill; one brother, Allan E. Drew and wife, Dorothy of Raleigh; six nieces; two nephews.
A native of Duplin County, Mrs. Davis was the daughter of the late John William and Lena Robinson Drew and was the widow of Ralph Matthews and Carmer Davis. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.
Casketbearers will be: Kenneth Lanier, Millard Johnson, Rufus Rouse, Michael Clover, Samuel A. Blizzard Jr. and Ashley Blizzard.
The family will receive at the funeral home from 7-8:30 p.m. Saturday and will be at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Rouse, 1174 Pasture Branch Road, Rose Hill other times.

ROBERT EARL EDDINS
WENDELL - Robert Earl Eddins, 52, of 1113 Ridge Haven Drive, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999 at his home. Funeral service 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service chapel. Burial, Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery.
Surviving: wife, Vickie Easley Eddins; sons, Chad Blackley of Zebulon, Derrick Eddins of the home; brothers, George Eddins of Wake Forest, Herbert Eddins of Rolesville, Mack Eddins of Wake Forest; sisters, Lillian Perry of Wendell, LaRue Mills of Apex.
Family will receive relatives and friends from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service and Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545 and other times at the home.
Flowers are appreciated, or contributions may be made in memory of Robert to the charity of one's choice.
CARLTON WORTH HALL
STEDMAN - Carlton Worth Hall, 80, Route 1, Stedman died Thursday in Cape Fear Valley Hospital, Fayetteville, NC. A graveside service will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in Lafayette Memorial Park, by: Rev. William A. Boykin.
Mr. Hall is survived by his wife, Doris M. Hall of Stedman; one son, Victor C. Hall of Raleigh; one stepson, Glenn Murphy of Fayetteville; two brothers, George T. Hall of Fayetteville, Charles D. Hall of St. Pauls.
Mr. Hall was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church, Stedman, NC. Retired Civil Service Air Traffic Control.
Family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the residence.
