EARL J. HOLLEMAN
FUQUAY-VARINA -- Earl J. Holleman, 73, died Wednesday, March 3, 1999 at home after an extended battle with cancer. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 1999 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
He was the founder of M&H Radio and TV Service and M&H Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. He retired 11 years ago and was well known for his honesty and his strong Christian faith. Mr. Holleman was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church; the Masonic Lodge No. 258 and the Wake County Shrine Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Stephenson Holleman and his parents, Freeman and Tessie Holleman.
Mr. Holleman is survived by his wife of 23 years, Edythe Williams Flowers Holleman; sister, Ernestine McLaurin and husband, Lacy and brother, Eugene Holleman and wife, Margie, all of Fuquay-Varina; stepdaughters, Teresa Flowers Giles and Denise Flowers Harr and husband, John, all of Raleigh; three step-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law, Lynton S. Stephenson and wife, Joyce of New Bern and John L. Stephenson and wife, Lonnie of Fuquay-Varina.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 5, 1999 from 7-9 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, 10005 Lake Wheeler Road, Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526 or to Home Health and Hospice, P.O. Box 88, Goldsboro, NC 27533.

CHARLES EDWARDS ANDERSON
SELMA -- Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hills of the Neuse Memory Gardens.
Surviving: wife, Carol Sigmon Anderson; son, Charles E. Anderson, II of Selma; daughter, Cathy Michelle Anderson Picarella of Selma; brothers, Keith Anderson of Smithfield, Melvin Anderson of Goldsboro; five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

ESTELLE CAUSBY ATKINS
MARION -- Estelle Causby Atkins, 82, died Thursday at Autumn Care of Marion. She was born Dec. 24, 1915 in Rutherford County.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 1999 at Westmoreland Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 1999 at Westmoreland Chapel. Rev. Marty Conner officiating. Burial will be in the Round Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Rutherford County.
Surviving: sons, Allen R. Atkins of Raleigh, Ameym Atkins of Flint, Michigan; daughters, Dorothy Neylan of Richmond, VA, Betty Setzer of Lincolnton, Barbara Parker of Marion; brothers, Jack Causby and Addie Causby, both of Marion; sister, Mamie Goins of Rutherfordton.
She was preceded in death by husband Mal B. Atkins.
She retired from Marion Mfg. Company and was deeply loved and revered by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

REV. TERRY BARTS
MOREHEAD CITY -- Pastor Terry Barts, 46, died Tuesday, March 2, 1999 in Morehead City. He was a graduate of West Carteret High School and Heritage Bible College, Dunn, NC and was Youth Pastor of Glad Tidings Church.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Ball Barts; daughter, Allison Barts Ballou of Morehead City; sons, Matthew and Michael Barts, both of the home. He is also survived by his parents, Shirley and William Barts of Gales Creek; brothers, Bill Barts of Port Lavaca, TX, Craig Barts of Gales Creek.
The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 1999 at Glad Tidings Church, Morehead City.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 5, 1999 from 6-8 p.m. at Glad Tidings Church.
Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Terry Barts College Memorial Fund c/o Glad Tidings Church, Morehead City.

NANCY LOUISE BROWN BROGDEN
PINE LEVEL -- Nancy Louise Brown Brogden, 60, formerly of Zebulon, died Thursday.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma, with the Rev. Brantley Stevens to officiate. Burial will follow in the Zebulon Cemetery.
Surviving are her daughter, Brenda B. Massengill of Conover; brother, William "Bill" Brown of Zebulon; sisters, Magdalene Russell of Phoenix, AZ, and Nan Upchurch of Four Oaks and one grandson.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Funeral Home.

ELMA S. CARR
DUNN -- Elma Strickland Carr, 77, formerly of Raleigh, died Wednesday, March 3, 1999.
Funeral Saturday, March 06, 1999 at 11:30 a.m., Blackmons Grove Church, with Rev. Larry Turlington and Rev. Ricky Lee officiating. Burial, Blackmons Grove Cemetery.
Survivors: one daughter, Betty Jean Spears of Raleigh; sisters, Betty Lee of Dunn, Shirley Rhodes of Youngsville; two grandsons.
Family at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Friday.
Arrangements by West & Dunn Funeral Home, Newton Grove.

GENEVA DUCKER
CHAPEL HILL -- Geneva Margarette Ducker of Chapel Hill, died Wednesday evening at Carolina Meadows. She was 85.
Born in Lower Hill, Illinois, Geneva moved with her family to Littleton Colorado, when she was six years old. She graduated as class valedictorian from Littleton High School in 1931 and later graduated with honors from the University of Denver with a degree in physical education and English.
She married George A. Ducker in 1941 and lived in Englewood, Colorado, all her married life.
She taught English and reading in the Denver and Englewood public schools for about 30 years retiring in 1975. As a teacher, she specialized in teaching learning-disabled students. In her spare time, she also taught English in the Denver area to adult immigrants who were seeking to quality for American citizenship.
She was a member of the Littleton, (Co), Presbyterian Church and was director of the church's Sunday school program for many years. She was also active in the American Association of University Women in the Denver area and several choirs and choral groups.
Geneva moved to Chapel Hill in 1990 to be near her son and his family. She attended Binkley Baptist Church and later became a member of the United Church of Chapel Hill.
Geneva was preceded in death by her husband, George Ducker. She is survived by her son, Richard; his wife, Mary and a granddaughter, Katherine, all of Chapel Hill, as well as a niece and two nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Carolina Meadows Retirement Community.

LURAE McCLAIN DUNCAN
RALEIGH -- Lurae McClain Duncan, 87, of Raleigh, died Tuesday, March 2, 1999 at Britthaven of Wrightsville Beach.
Mrs. Duncan was employed with the Raleigh News and Observer and the Raleigh Times from 1952 to 1970.
Graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, March 5, 1999 at Raleigh Memorial Park.

A. JASON DUNN
DUNN -- Mr. A. Jason Dunn, 91, a retired insurance agent, of 89 Jonesboro Rd., died Wednesday at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Stone's Creek Advent Christian Church. The Revs. Doug Able, Edward Adams and Don Wrigley, Sr. will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Dunn was born September 22, 1907 in Johnston County to the late Leander and Effie Johnson Dunn. He worked at Erwin Cotton Mills and Coca Cola Bottling Company. Mr. Dunn was an insurance agent for 30 years with American National Insurance. He was an active member of Stone's Creek Advent Christian Church for over 60 years and served in many capacities. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Dunn was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna Adams Dunn.
Surviving: wife, Eloise Wood Dunn; stepdaughter, Brindle W. Goodwin of Smithfield; stepson, Larry B. Wood of Benson; four step-granddaughters; several nieces and nephews.
Family will be at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson from 7-9 p.m. Friday.
Family suggest memorial contributions be made to Stone's Creek Advent Christian Church, 343 Woods Crossroads Road, Benson, NC 27504.

HAROLD G. FINCH
HARKERS ISLAND -- Harold G. Finch, 75, died Wednesday, March 3, 1999 at his residence. He was owner and operator of Finch Electric Service and a member of Harkers Island United Methodist Church. He served in the Merchant Marines from 1942-1944 and was a member of Amran Shrine in Raleigh.
He is survived by his wife, Eva Todd Finch of Harkers Island; two daughters, Patricia Platania and Rosemary Mims, both of Raleigh; a son, David Finch of Asbury, NJ; a brother, Edward Finch of Zebulon; six grandchildren, Jason and Matthew Platania, Todd and Mary Hunter Finch, and Virginia and Caroline Finch.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 1999 at Munden Chapel with Rev. Keith Miller officiating. Burial will follow with a graveside service in Greenmont Cemetery, Wendell, NC.
The family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Harkers Island United Methodist Church, Harkers Island, NC or Core Sound Waterfowl Museum, 1205 Island Rd., Harkers Island, NC 28531.

O'DELL S. GAYE
FUQUAY-VARINA -- O'Dell Smith Gaye, 84, died Thursday, March 4, 1999. Funeral service 2 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 1999 at the Fuquay-Varina Presbyterian Church. Burial, Wake Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Gaye was preceded in death by her husbands, Wade Smith and Dale Gaye, and her son, Ralph Smith.
Surviving: daughter-in-law, Ruby Smith of Fuquay-Varina; grandson, Tony Smith and wife, Donna of Howell, New Jersey; granddaughter, Wendy Smith Howard of Greenville; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Theresa, Andrew and Michael Smith all of Howell, New Jersey; sisters, Beatrice Watson of Sanford and Elizabeth Stephens of Yanceyville; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Saturday, March 6 at Thomas Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wake County, 1300 St. Mary's Street, 4th Floor, Raleigh, N.C. 27605.

ELIZABETH LOUGHLIN HARRELSON
SOUTHPORT -- Elizabeth Loughlin "Lib" Harrelson of Southport passed away Thursday, March 4, 1999 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
She is survived by Arthur Danvis "Dan" Harrelson. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Anne Ward and husband Dr. Wade T. Ward of Jacksonville, NC, and Martha H. Stein and Steve Stein of Wilmington; one son, Thomas J. "Tommy" Harrelson and wife, Julie Ann, of Raleigh and Southport; two sisters, Evelyn Fox and husband, Alex, late of Southport, now of Athens, TN and Mary Ann Williams and husband, Don of Wilmington; brother, Joe Sam Loughlin and wife, Eleanor of Piqua, Ohio and Southport. She leaves behind her grandchildren, Dr. Chris Ward, Betsy Ward Carroll, Ashley Ward Duke, Susie Murphy-Moore, and Chip Murphy, as well as her great-grandchildren, Hannah, Seth, and Robinson; step-granddaughters, Donna Rabon, Joy Drew, and husband, Rusty, Jenny Stein, Catey Moretz and husband Jason, and two step-great-grandchildren, Jessica and Brandon.
She was preceded in death by her oldest son, Danny.
Her parents were Joseph J. and Norma Brinkman Loughlin of Southport.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 6, 1999 at St. Philips Episcopal Church, with a reception to follow in the Parish Hall.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Philip's Building Fund or to the charity of their choice.
