PEACHTREE CITY, GA -- Mrs. Concetta V. Gaddo, died July 22, 1999.
She is survived by her sons, Peter Gaddo of Clayton, NC, Mr. and Mrs. Tim and Carmella Gaddo of Chasks, MN, Mr. and Mrs. Randy and Ellen Gaddo of Peachtree City; daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Louise Blatter of Waxhaw, NC; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Teresa Palumbo of Sunrise, FL.
Funeral service will be held 4 p.m. Saturday at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Pastor Miriam Beecher, officiating.
The family will receive friends from 3-4 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Interment service will be held Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Granville, IL. Mrs. Gaddo will be interred in the church cemetery along side her husband, Louis A. Gaddo who died in 1982.

LOLA T. GOSWICK
FRANKLINTON -- Lola Tillotson Goswick, 100, a native of Franklinton, died Thursday, July 22, 1999 in Roanoke, VA.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 25, in Fairview Cemetery, Franklinton, followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m. Sunday at Franklinton Baptist Church. The family will receive friends immediately after the service at the church.
Mrs. Goswick was the widow of John Frank Goswick. She was a member of Franklinton Baptist Church.
Surviving: a daughter, Marie Goswick Sturtevant of Roanoke, VA; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Franklinton Baptist Church, Franklinton, NC 27525.

LUTIE W. HALL
APRIL 11, 1919 - JULY 21, 1999
RALEIGH -- Lutie Watkins Hall, 80, of 2403 Lake Wheeler Road, died Wednesday. Funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday at Inwood Baptist Church. Burial, church cemetery.
Surviving: husband, John S. Hall, Jr.; daughter, Sharleen M. Phillippi of Raleigh; grandchildren, Deborah Upchurch, Sharon Matthews, and Fred Lee Phillippi, Jr.; six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Inwood Baptist Church Building Fund, 3700 Lake Wheeler Road, Raleigh, NC 27603.

BENJAMIN F. HARNEY III
JULY 29, 1986 - JULY 22, 1999
ANGIER -- Benjamin F. Harney III, 12, of 173, Derby Point, Guyton, Georgia, died July 22, 1999 at his home.
He is survived by his father, Ben F. Harney Jr. of the home; maternal grandparents, Ezzell and Becky Partin of Angier; and an aunt, Jane K. Jones of Angier.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dianne King Harney in November, 1995.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.
Local arrangements are by Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier.

ROY MEADOWS HIGHFILL
GREENSBORO -- Mr. Roy Meadows Highfill, 82, of 1010 Onslow Dr., died Thursday, July 22, 1999 at Beacon Place-Hospice at Greensboro.
Surviving are his wife of fifty-one years, Janie Highfill of the home; two daughters, Jane Schwartz and husband Steve of Raleigh, Ann Teague and husband Charlie of Greensboro; one son, Roy "Chip" Highfill Jr. of Taos, NM; two sisters, Polly Morgan of Greensboro and Ruth Mills of Alexandria, VA; one brother, Bill "Shorty" Highfill of Greensboro; four grandsons, Brian Handlon, Gray Handlon, Chris Teague, and David Teague.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice at Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405.

CHARLIE W. JONES
RALEIGH -- Charlie W. Jones Sr., 82, died Thursday, July 22, 1999.
Mr. Jones was born in Pitt County, and lived in the Raleigh area for over 40 years. He was a retired meat cutter for Colonial Stores. Mr. Jones was a member of Landmark Freewill Baptist Church in Cary.
Surviving are his sons, C.W. Jones Jr. of Raleigh and Danny Jones of Salem, Va; brothers, Jimmy and Louis Jones of Greenville, and Johnny of Washington, NC; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
His wife, Mamie, died in 1995.
The funeral will be Sunday, 2 p.m. in Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel, with entombment following in Montlawn Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends Saturday, 3-5 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home, 600 St. Mary's St., and other times at 2317 Folger St., Raleigh.

L. WAYNE KEARNEY
LaGRANGE -- Mr. Lloyd Wayne Kearney, 73, of Route 2 died suddenly Friday afternoon in route to Wayne Memorial Hospital. Mr. Kearney was a retired farmer and attended Free Gospel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church. Mr. Kearney was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during WWII.
Funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday at the Chapel of Taylor-Edwards Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Snow Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include: wife, Vernell Rouse Kearney of the home; daughter, Barbara Kearney Smith and husband, Alan of LaGrange; sons, Larry Kearney and wife, Brenda of LaGrange and Kevin Kearney and wife, Michelle of LaGrange; grandchildren, Amy Kearney, Brandi Bileby and husband, Patrick, Alex Smith and Brock and Nicholos Kearney; sisters, Lula Vandiford of Snow Hill, Beatrice Balkcum, Doris Loy and Faye Phillips all of Goldsboro and Dolly Mackvick of Morehead City; brothers, Douglas Kearney of Farmville, Preston Kearney of Newport News, VA, James "Bo" Kearney and Kenneth "Tom" Kearney both of Pikeville.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and other times at the residence.

JANICE B. LAND
LOUISBURG -- Beloved wife and mother, Janice Baker Land, 64 of 159 Dick Baker Road died Friday, July 23, 1999 at Rex Hospital, Raleigh, NC.
Graveside service will be held Sunday, July 25, 1999 at 4 p.m. from the Baker Family Cemetery conducted by the Reverend Carl Poole.
Family will receive friends on Saturday evening, July 24, 1999 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the White Funeral Home Chapel, 103 West Franklin St., Louisburg, NC and at all other times at the home.
Janice Baker Land was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Baker. She is survived by her husband, J.B. Land of the home; her father, F.M. Baker of Louisburg, NC; one son, Sam and wife, Terri Land of Louisburg, NC; one grandson, Jason Land of Wilmington, NC; two brothers, Raeford and wife, Karen Baker of New Orleans, LA, Willis and wife, Carol Baker of Louisburg, NC. There is one nephew, Jonathan Baker of Raleigh, NC.

JACK THOMAS "J.T." LAYTON
WAKE FOREST -- Jack Thomas "J.T." Layton, 84, of 611 Brooks Street (The Carolina House), formerly of 801 Louisburg Road, died Thursday, July 22, 1999 at Franklin Regional Hospital.
He was born in Franklin County, and was the son of the late Mary Luda Lancaster Layton and Benjamin N. Layton.
He was a member of Rolesville Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock, Saturday morning, July 25, 1999 in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home, with the Rev. J. Marshall Neathery officiating. Burial will follow in Harris Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Layton is survived by his wife, Mary Helen Layton; daughter, Barbara L. Macon and her husband, George of Wake Forest; sons, Richard Layton and his wife, Faye and Gordon Layton and his wife, Linda of Louisburg; brother, Ben "Buck" Layton of Florida; half-brothers, Horace Layton of Colorado and Joe Layton of Winston-Salem; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Flowers accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Rolesville Baptist Church Building Fund.

JAZIE C. MORRIS
OCT. 2, 1909-JULY 23, 1999
ZEBULON -- Jazie Carter Morris, 89, of Guardian Care died Friday afternoon. She was the widow of Jack O. Morris.
Funeral service will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Strickland Funeral Home, Wendell. Burial, Middlesex Town Cemetery.
Surviving daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy and Linwood Creech of Wendell, Rixie and Bobby Stevens of Apex; sons and daughter-in-law, Chester and Linda Morris of Raleigh and Kent Morris of Jacksonville; sisters, Pattie Parrish of Wendell, Margaret Rhodes of Skyland and Vera Evans of Durham; sister-in-law, Dora Carter of Clayton; 16 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers, Milford and Elwin Carter and great-grandson, Reese Morris.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Guardian Care Patient Fund, c/o Connie Pendley, 509 W. Gannon Ave., Zebulon, NC 27597.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. today at Strickland Funeral Home, 211 W. Third St., Wendell, other times at the home of Dorothy and Linwood Creech, 9143 Applewhite Rd., Wendell.n

J.C. PARRISH
March 23, 1928 - July 22, 1999
ANGIER -- Jimmie Calvin "J.C." Parrish, 71, of 18460 Hwy 210 East, a retired employee with the Town of Angier, died Thursday.
Funeral service 3 p.m. Sunday at Kennebec Baptist Church. Burial, church cemetery.
Surviving: his wife of 50 years, Eva Tutor Parrish; a son, Byron L. Parrish and his wife, Carol Parrish of Angier; a granddaughter, Tabitha Parrish; sister, Pauline P. Howard of Smithfield and a brother, Mack Parrish of Archdale.
Visitation, 7-9 p.m. today at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier.

WARREN F. ROTHER
PINEHURST -- Warren F. Rother, 86, of Quail Haven Village, Pinehurst, NC died Thursday, July 22, 1999 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Funeral service will be held 3:30 p.m. Sunday, July 25, 1999 at the Boles Funeral Home in Pinehurst with burial in the Pinelawn Memorial Park.
He was owner and operated the Baehre & Schumway Co. in Buffalo, before retiring and moving to Southern Pines, NC in 1990. He was preceded in death by his wife Loraine Pfeiffer Rother in March of 1996. He was a member of the Our Saviour Lutheran Church.
Survived by his sisters Jeanette Whyte of Southern Pines and Helen R. Marx of Gloucester, MA.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-8 p.m. on Saturday, July 22, 1999.
