Marshall of Raleigh; sons, Harris Williams of Cary, Jonathan Marshall of Raleigh; father, John Joseph Marshall of Washington, DC; mother, Susan Marshall of the home; brothers, Stanley Marhsall of Raleigh, Jesse E. Marshall of Raleigh; paternal grandparents, Jack and Lillian Marshall of Washington, DC.

ELIZABETH J. MIKLOS
HAZLETON, PA -- Elizabeth J. Miklos, 77, of 443 West 20th St., Hazleton, died late Wednesday evening at her residence. She was born in Union County, North Carolina, daughter of the late William & Loma (Howie) Laney. She was a member of St. Joseph R.C. Church, where she was a member of the Confraturnity of Christian Women.
She was last employed at Fabri-Cal as a printer. She was actively involved with the Mental Health/Mental Retardation of Luzerne County.
In high school she played on the Westley Chapel High School Girls State Champions Basketball team. She also had the distinction of being the First Certified Female Welder in the State of North Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, in December, 1998, and two brothers, James and Guy Laney.
She is survived by her children: Joseph of Williamsport, PA, David Niles, of Manhiem, PA, Mrs. Leslie (Laverne) Judge of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Michael of Millersville, PA, Lawrence of Hazleton and Mrs. Roger (Beverly) Fries of Cheltemham, PA; brothers and sisters, Jo May Deese of Matthews, NC, Willene Maness of Indian Trail, NC, Evelyn Mar of Raleigh, NC; Mrs. Iver (Geneva) Hepp, Charlotte, NC, Marjorie Bernabe of Indian Trail, NC, Mary Kirk Matthews of Weddinton, NC, William Laney, of Lebanon, TN, and Donald of Matthews, NC; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday from the Frank J. Bonin Funeral Home, Inc. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph R.C. Church. Interment to follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Friends and relatives may call on Friday evening from 7-9 p.m.

ALICE G. O'QUINN
LILLINGTON -- Mrs. Alice G. O'Quinn, 94, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999 at Brookfield Retirement Center, Lillington.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey M. O'Quinn.
Funeral 11 a.m. Saturday, Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Martin Groover officiating. Burial, church cemetery.
Surviving: sons, Donald O'Quinn of Lillington, Luther O'Quinn of Mamers; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Visitation 6-8 p.m. Friday at O'Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home.

RAMANBHAI V. PATEL
CARY -- Ramanbhai V. Patel, 57, died Thursday, February 11, 1999.
Mr. Patel is survived by his parents, his wife, Meenaben, three sons, a daughter-in-law, and a granddaughter.
Funeral service 2 p.m. Saturday, February 13, 1999 in Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel, 600 St. Mary's St., Raleigh.

MINNIE F. PITTMAN
ROCKY MOUNT -- Minnie Fountain Pittman, 81, died February 11, 1999 at Nash General Hospital. She was born November 11, 1917 in Nash County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Grady Pittman.
She is survived by her sons, Charles Pittman and wife, Hazel Viverette Pittman of Raleigh, Mike Pittman and wife, Katherine Brake Pittman of Cary; grandchildren, Lisa Pittman of Raleigh, Michael Pittman and Emily Pittman, both of Cary; sister, Lizzie Fountain Barnes of Rocky Mount; several beloved nieces and nephews.
Graveside memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, February 13, 1999 at Mill Branch Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Friday at Bowling Funeral Home, 661 English Road, Rocky Mount, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes. Association, 434 Fayetteville Street, Mall, 2 Hanover Square, Suite 1600, Raleigh, NC 27601.

HOWARD WILSON SUTTON
CHARLOTTE -- Mr. Howard Wilson Sutton, 86, of Charlotte, NC died Wednesday, February 10, 1999 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Durham, NC.
A native of Charlotte, NC, Mr. Sutton attended the Charlotte schools and graduated from Central High School in 1930. He was accepted at West Point Academy, but declined his appointment to serve in the Army Air Corps. While in the Air Corps, he was shot down during the initial African invasion. Mr. Sutton was subsequently held as a Prisoner of War in a German prison camp for three years. Howard was liberated by Patton's Army and returned to Charlotte after receiving two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart. Soon after his return home, he married Mary J. Brady, also of Charlotte. In 1972, he retired from the U.S. Postal Service. Howard also owned and operated Wilmore Sundries Store for over thirty years. Before his health declined, he donated blood to the Red Cross and was one of the largest donors in the country. Howard was a member of The Little Church on the Lane and will be remembered for this big heart, kindness, and generosity. He was loved and admired by all that knew him and kept his sense of humor, even in his final days.
Funeral service will 2 p.m. Saturday, February 13, 1999 in the Harry and Bryant Chapel, 500 Providence Road, Charlotte, with The Reverend Steve Wilson, officiating. Interment will be at at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:45-1:45 p.m. Saturday at Harry and Bryant.
Mr. Sutton is survived by two sons, Robert Howard "Bobby" Sutton, of Charlotte and William Harvey "Billy" Sutton, of Raleigh; a brother, Donald Sutton, and his wife, Marie Sutton, of Charlotte; five grandchildren, Shelley S. Freeman of Henderson, NC, William H. Sutton Jr., Jesse Sutton, Brady Sutton, and Lindsey Sutton, all of Raleigh, and great-grandson, Dominick Freeman.
Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 2017 Bay Street, Charlotte, NC 28205 or to an Ex-Prisoner of War Group.
Harry and Bryant Company is serving the family of Mr. Sutton.

PAUL DAYNE WILSNACK
JUNE 19, 1963-FEBRUARY 8, 1999
RALEIGH -- Paul Dayne Wilsnack, 35, passed away Monday night.
Paul is survived by his parents, Roger and Julie Wilsnack; brothers, Mark Wilsnack and Eric Wilsnack, and a wealth of other family members and friends who will always cherish the loving good nature and immeasurable heart he so graciously shared with everyone he came in contact with. We can never repay him for all he has given us.
Funeral services will be held at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 226 Hillsborough Street, Raleigh, NC on Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999 at 11 a.m. followed by a reception.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, c/o NAMI-NC, 309 West Millbrook Road, Suite 121, Raleigh, NC 27609-4305.

WILLIAM RANDY ANDERSON
GOLDSBORO -- William Randall "Randy" Anderson, 43, of 123 Albert Drive, died Wednesday. The funeral will be held 7 p.m. Friday at Seymour Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. Charlie Carroll and the Rev. Harold Anderson will officiate. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday morning at Wayne Memorial Park.
A native of Wayne County, he was the son of Kathleen Forehand Anderson and the late William H. Anderson. He worked with Bayer Pharmaceutical for 25 years and for Nelson's Photo for 15 years. Mr. Anderson's love for photography began at a young age and never diminished. He took classes at Wayne Community College and North Carolina State University and shared his enthusiasm for and knowledge of photography with local photographers.
Photo assignments took him across the United States, to Kenya, Venezuela and Panama. His work has appeared in a book entitled "Earthtrek: Project Kenya," been exhibited at the Arts Council of Wayne County and the Family YMCA, been purchased for commercial use, and served as the subject of newspaper articles. A picture he took of a bush buck in 1986 in Kenya won third place in the Minolta Wildlife Award and was chosen as one of the top 10 images from more than 10,000 entries.
Mr. Anderson was affiliated with the Photographic Society of America, Professional Photographers of America, Associated Photographers International, and Nikon Professional Services.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Teresa Byrd "Terry" Anderson; daughter, Amanda Anderson of the home; many special friends including Jim and Ann Smith of Goldsboro.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Gail Anderson.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the funeral service until 9 p.m. and other times at the home.

NOBLE L. DUNN
RALEIGH -- Noble L. Dunn, of 2317 Calvert Drive, died Monday. Funeral 1 p.m. Saturday at Faith Missionary Baptist Church. Burial, Carolina Biblical Gardens.
Surviving: daughters, Fairy "Faye" Walton of Raleigh, Joanne Farmer of Brooklyn, NY; sons, Clifton Walton of Raleigh; adopted son, Barry D. Dunn of Fuquay-Varina; sisters, Mary Bridges and Emily Green, both of Raleigh, Eldora Higgins and Zelma Crowder, both of Baltimore, MD; brothers, Frank Dunn of Raleigh, John Oscar Dunn of Garner; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a host of nieces; nephews and other relatives and friends.
Visitation 7-8 p.m. Friday at the church.

HERVEY HOLLOWAY
RALEIGH -- Hervey Holloway of 501 Dacian Road died on Saturday, October 2, 1999 at Wake Medical Center. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, October 9, 1999, at Haywood Funeral Home Chapel. Family visitation will precede the service beginning at 10:30 a.m. Burial takes place at Carolina Biblical Gardens.
He is survived by two sons, Hervey Holloway, Jr. and wife Helen, of Los Angeles, CA; and William Burt and wife Helen, of Virginia; three daughters, Gwendolyn Bridges and husband, Sylvester of Raleigh, Patricia H. Smith of Raleigh, Geraldine I. Hunt of Raleigh; ex-wife, Mrs. Cecelia Daye Holloway of Raleigh; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

ALLEN HOUSTON BROCK, SR.
SOUTHERN PINES -- Allen Houston Brock, Sr. of Southern Pines died in Pinehurst on October 6, 1999. A memorial service to commemorate his life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 8, 1999 at First Baptist Church in Southern Pines officiated by Reverend David Helms.
Mr. Brock was born in Owensboro, Kentucky on September 16, 1920. He was the son of the late Ira Washington and Amelia Graves Brock. He grew up in Owensboro where he attended the Owensboro schools and later studied at Greenbriar military Academy and Washington and Lee University where he majored in journalism. He was awarded a football scholarship to Washington and Lee and played quarterback there. During World War II, Mr. Brock served as an officer in the U.S. Navy as a test pilot. On December 4, 1943 he married Sarah Applewhite of Nashville, Tennessee. They would have celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary this December.
After World War II Mr. Brock served in various posts with the United States government as an editor for scientific research and development throughout the country and in Japan. In 1963 Mr. Brock moved to Raleigh to work for ITT. He and his wife purchased a home in old Cameron Park and Mr. Brock used his carpentry skills to restore the house and turn it into a home of which his family could be proud. While in Raleigh he opened Village Antiques and after he left ITT he worked full time in his business of buying and selling antiques. He was also very active in the Republican Party in Raleigh and served as a volunteer in a number of local, state and national political campaigns. In 1995 Mr. Brock and his wife moved to Southern Pines and joined the First Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Brock is survived by his three children, Allen H. Brock, Jr. of Southern Pines, Mrs. Douglas L. Stack of Laurinburg and Mrs. H. Webb Cooper of Greensboro and one granddaughter Sarah Elizabeth Stack of Laurinburg. He is also survived by two sisters Helen Hicks of Owensboro, Kentucky and Juanita Overstreet of Austin, Texas and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A reception for the family and friends of Mr. Brock will be held in the Fellowship Hall at First Baptist Church of Southern Pines immediately after the Memorial Service. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be sent to The Children's Home Society of North Carolina, P.O. Box 14608, Greensboro, NC 27415-4608. Boles Funeral Home and Crematory of Southern Pines is serving the family of Mr. Brock.

COURTNEY L. CARELOCK
NASHVILLE -- Courtney LeeAnn Carelock, 19, died Tuesday, October 5, 1999.
She was born October 12, 1979, the daughter of "Daddy Ray" and Ann C. Boykin of the home.
Courtney was a sophmore at Meredith College studying to be a fashion merchandiser. She was a officer with the MRA" Meredith Recreational Activities and attended Bones Tabernacle Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her biological father, David L. Carelock.
Besides her parents she is survived by her brother, Danny L. Carelock of New London; one sister, Dana C. and brother-in-law, J.J. Temple of Nashville; loving grandparents, Johnnie "Papa" Evans and Bessie "Granny" Evans and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Woody Jones and pastor Dennis Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Nashville.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Friday, October 8, 1999 at Bowling Funeral Home, 661 English Road, Rocky Mount, NC.
