REV. ORVILLE O. JONES
MICRO -- Rev. Orville O. Jones, 73, of Hinnant Street in Micro, died Monday. Born in Johnston County on September 24, 1925, he was the son of the late Manley Parson and Octavia Thorne Jones.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Jones of Raleigh.
Reverend Jones pastored Free Will Baptist Churches in North Carolina for 47 years. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, September 23, 1999 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. Rev. Paul Nicholson and Rev. Gary Bailey will officiate. Burial will follow in the Branch Chapel Church Cemetery.
Surviving: are his wife, Mozelle Norris Jones; sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Ruth Jones of Climax, Ronny and Brenda Jones of Julian; daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Ron Bauer of High Point, Gaye and Richard Lambert of Gibsonville, Yvonne and Mickey Holcomb of McLeansville, Becky and Lee Pollard of Conetoe; brothers, Durwood Jones, Franklin Jones, Donald Jones and Dewey Jones, all of Selma, Eardith Jones of Micro, Nelson Jones of Pine Level; sisters, Joyce Davis of Clayton, La Verne Davis of Wilson; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.

DAVID M. MILLS
SPRING HOPE -- David Moore Mills was born August 8, 1920. He was the youngest child of the late David and Mattie Chavis Mills of Spring Hope. He departed this life on September 16, 1999. He was married to Rometta Bernice Davis Mills.
In addition to his wife, he leaves Dr. Tillet J. Mills and Dr. Cheree Mills (Tillet II and Cheree Ann); Ramona Williams and Fred Williams (Adam Mills, Jovon and Kenya Williams); David M. Mills and Doreen Mills (Marissa Mills, DeMarcus and Doreece); Darlene Mills (Danielle and Kenneth Mitchell); Catherine Wilkins; two sisters, Mattie Mills Anderson of Montclair, N.J. and Macie Bullock of Spring Hope.
Funeral service will be on Wednesday at 12 p.m. at Spaulding Family Resource Center Auditorium in Spring Hope. Burial, Mills Family Cemetery.
Services by William Toney's Funeral Home, Spring Hope.

PEARL EVANS COVINGTON
RALEIGH -- Funeral 1 p.m. Wednesday, Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, Creech Rd. Burial will follow in Pine Forest Memorial Park, Wake Forest. Visitation will be 12-1 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

MARY F. ESKRIDGE
LUMBERTON -- Mary Frances McMillan Eskridge, 79, of Lumberton died Thursday at Southeastern Medical Center. Daughter of the late Duncan McMillan and Bessie Graham McMillian Ellis. Graduate of Redstone Academy. Former resident of Washington, DC and owner and operator of Fairmont Road 66 Grocery.
Funeral service were held Tuesday 2 p.m. Sandy Grove Baptist Church. Burial in Meadowbrook City Cemetery.
Surviving: husband, Frank Eskridge; brother, James McMillan of Lumberton.
McMillan Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

ANNA LEE HOLLENKAMP
FUQUAY-VARINA -- Anna Lee Gibson Hollenkamp died Tuesday.
Funeral, Saturday in Louisville, Kentucky.
Survivors: daughter, Marsha Ray Mumma and husband Jerry of Fuquay-Varina; son, Michael Lynn Collier and wife Michelle of Garner; step-sons, Darren and Edward Hollenkamp both of Louisville, KY; sister, Frances Phelps of Raleigh; five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at Sugg Funeral Home.

MARY HELEN L. PARKS
HENDERSON -- Mary Helen Lowry Parks, 83, of 4081 Raleigh Road, died Monday. September 20, 1999, at Maria Parham Hospital. A native of Vance County, she was the daughter of the late George A. and Kate Allsbrook Lowry. She was the widow of James Edison Parks, Sr. Mrs. Parks was a homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday in the Rose Chapel, of First United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Jack Benfield. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Surviving: brother, W. Lawrence Lowry, and wife, Helen of Raleigh; sister, Maxine E. Lowry of Washington, DC.
She was preceded in death by two children, James Edison Parks, Jr., Katherine Allsbrook Parks Coggin.
The family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Flowers Funeral Home.
Serving as active pallbearers will be James W. Coghill, Lennie Swanson, Bill Lowry, Richard Lowry, Joe Parks, Charles Floyd, John Kearney, Samuel Brummitt, Bobby Brummitt, and Jimmy Brummitt.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made, in memory of James Edison Parks, Sr., James Edison Parks, Jr. and Katherine Allsbrook Parks Coggin, to the American Cancer Society, #4 Oak Branch Drive, Greensboro, NC 27407.
Flowers Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements.

DAVID WOOD RITCHIE
DURHAM -- Mr. David Wood Ritchie, 86, of 165 Springmoor Dr. died Sunday in his home.
Born in New Bedford, MA, he was the son of the late David and Louise A. Wood Ritchie. Before retiring to Raleigh, he was a manager in the steel industry.
Surviving are three sons, David F. Ritchie and his wife Sharon of Winnepeg, Canada, Frank I. Ritchie and his wife Carole of Cincinnati, OH, and Phillip A. Ritchie and his wife Barbara of Raleigh; one daughter Susan R. Todres and her husband Allen of Medway, MA; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Ritchie who died September 1, 1999.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Riverside, RI. Burial will follow in Beechgrove Cemetery in Westport, MA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 11 S. Boylan Ave., Raleigh, NC 27603.
Local arrangements are with Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, Durham.

GLENWOOD HOWARD TRUELOVE SR.
RALEIGH -- Glenwood Howard Truelove Sr, 79, died Sunday.
Graveside service 2 p.m. today at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Fuquay-Varina.
Surviving: daughters, Glenda Truelove of Garner and Bonnie Condit of White House Station, NJ; sons, Glenwood H. Truelove, Jr. of Hillsboro, NJ, Gary Truelove of Summerville, NJ; sister, Mazie Betts of Raleigh; brother, Wylon Truelove of Fuquay-Varina; twelve grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.

WILLIE UMPHREY JR.
Nov. 11, 1923 - Sept. 18, 1999
RALEIGH -- Willie Umphrey Jr., of 9 Chatham Terrace, died Saturday, September 18, 1999 at Wake Medical Center. A graveside service will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday at Mount Hope Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Annie Dunn Umphrey; sons, Willie E. and Leonard Umphrey; daughters, Sandra Nwachukwu and Alice Smith; sister, Connie Evans; brother, Hollis Umphrey, all of Raleigh; seven grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be at Haywood Funeral Home, 2-9 p.m. today.

WILLIAM T. WILEY SR.
DURHAM -- Mr. William T. Wiley, Sr., of Spring Arbor, 1251 Winstead Ave., Rocky Mount, died late Monday at Nash General Hospital. Mr. Wiley was born in Prestonbsburg, Kentucky, the son of the late Daniel Wiley and Mary Jane Wiley Lodge. He lived in Durham for most of his life. At the time of his retirement, he was employed as a superintendent at Burlington Industries. Mr. Wiley was a member of Englewood Baptist Church in Rocky Mount and the Corinthian Masonic Lodge #230 of Rocky Mount.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Hoskins Wiley.
Mr. Wiley is survived by daughters, Jane Wiley Rigsbee of Valdese and Patricia Wiley Marshburn of Rocky Mount; sons, William T. "Bill" Wiley, Jr. of Macon, GA, Daniel Raymond Wiley of Dallas, TX; sister, Mary Lou Smith of Bluefield, WV; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Durham by Dr. Malbert Smith Jr. of Durham and Reverend Donald Pope of Rocky Mount.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7-8:30 p.m. at Clements Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Englewood Baptist Church, 505 Englewood Dr., Rocky Mount, NC 27803.

BEATRICE H. WILLIAMS
RALEIGH -- Beatrice Hunter Williams, 93, died Monday, September 20, 1999. She was born in Wake County on May 4, 1906 and has been a resident of Wake County all of her life.
Mrs. Williams is survived by her son, Raymond E. Williams and wife, Ann; daughter, Dorothy W. Lea and husband, John; sister, Rosa H. Jones, all of Raleigh; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, James Allison Williams; daughter, Louise Lattier.
Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 22, 1999 at Mitchell Funeral Home, 600 St. Mary's Street. Burial to follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.
Friends and family may call one hour prior to the service.

ANN C. KIGER
RALEIGH -- Ann Crabtree Kiger, of 3205 Caldwell Dr. died Sunday night August 8th at Rex Hospital after 3 years fighting the ravages of Alzheimer's. She was born in the South Lowell community of northern Durham county, the daughter of C.E. and Mattie Roberts Crabtree. Mrs. Kiger and her husband owned and operated The Stagg Shop, Ltd., a men's clothing store on Hillsborough St. for 20 years. She was last associated with The NC Museum of Art until 1992.
She was a homemaker, a life time member of the Methodist Church, and always a supportive and loving wife to her husband, Bill, of 45 years. Additional survivors include two brothers, Mr. C. Branson Crabtree and his wife, Nellie of Bahama and Mr. J. Howard Crabtree and his wife, Francis of Durham; two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Hall and Mrs. Eunice Nichols of Cambridge, MD. Also three nephews and four nieces. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence and Hubert, and two sisters, Preston and Francis.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 11, at 11 a.m. at Highland United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Chapel Mausoleum, at Raleigh Memorial Park, on Highway 70 West.
Visitation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Church preceding the funeral.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the music fund at Highland United Methodist Church, 1901 Ridge Road, Raleigh, NC 27607 or Hospices of Wake County. Funeral arrangements by Mitchell Funeral Home, Glenwood Ave., Raleigh.
