Michael D. Goodson

Dillon Goodson, 17, of Haywood County passed away Saturday, Oct. 15, 2005. He was born Nov. 17, 1987, in Haywood County. Dillon loved the outdoors and had a great aspiration of becoming a game warden. He was looking forward to attending school at Mayland Community College. Dillon had a big heart. He never held a grudge and the world was a better place for him being in it. He also attended the Newland First Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ramona Lisa Goodson. He is survived by his mother, Kendra Creson of Haywood County; his father, Michael Goodson of Swannanoa; two brothers, Justin Creson and Luke Creson, both of Haywood County; and a special brother-in-law, Perry Creson. Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday in the chapel of Garrett Funerals & Cremations. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until noon prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Forest Lawn cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Fish and Wildlife Service. Anne C. Conklin

MAGGIE VALLEY — Anne Cottrell Conklin, 79, of 115 Reuben Branch Road, passed away on Oct. 17, 2005, at Canton Christian Convalescent Center. Born in Switzerland, she was the daughter of the late Samuel S. and Mae Weeks Cottrell. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Randall Conklin, who died on Feb. 20, 2005, and a brother, Richard Cottrell. She is survived by a daughter, Claudia A. Raber and her husband Robert of Maggie Valley; a brother, Samuel S. Cottrell III; and five grandchildren, Robert J. Raber of Waynesville, Thomas A. Raber of Maggie Valley, Cynthia L. Raber of Delanco, N.J., Michael Raber of Washington, D.C. and Brian R. Raber of Pfafftown. Memorial services will be held at noon Wednesday, Oct. 26, at Grace Church in the Mountains, with the Rev. CANTON — Lillian Dorothy Stanton Van Nostrand, 97, of Windham, Vt., and also a resident of Canton, passed away Monday, Oct. 17, 2005, at Haywood Regional Medical Center. Crawford/Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service is caring for the Van Nostrand family and will announce funeral arrangements.

Clifford M. Harrell

Clifford McCracken Harrell, 86, of 60 Woolsey Heights, Waynesville, died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2004, at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late James S. and Cora Morrow Harrell.He was a 1935 graduate of Waynesville Township High School and was an Army veteran of World War II where he served in the 75th division in the European Theater, having participated in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a charter member and president of Canton Toastmaster Club, a former member of the Canton Lions Club, a former scoutmaster, having served on the Daniel Boone Boy Scout Council. He started Harrell’s Dry Cleaning and Laundry in 1947 diversifying into uniform rental and carpet and drapery sales and served as director and president of the North Carolina Launderers and Cleaners Association. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Waynesville, where he taught Sunday school. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest Harrell; and a sister, Mildred Hines. Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Christine Hogan Harrell; a daughter, Judith Bridges and her husband, Thomas W. of Naperville, Ill.; a son, Clifford “Mac” Harrell Jr. and his wife, Brenda, of Waynesville; a sister, Bernice Harrell of Waynesville; three brothers, Leroy and Clarence Harrell, both of Waynesville, and Ray Harrell of Hendersonville; three grandchildren, Cliff Harrell III, Joan Larson and Elise Greene; and three great-grandchildren, Cole Larson, and Madeline and Caroline Greene. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Revs. Dr. Robert Prince and Ted Reeves officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Entombment will be at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum. Roxie W. Metcalf

ASHEVILLE — Roxie Marie Wilde Metcalf, 85, of the Haw Creek community in east Asheville, passed away Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 13, at Givens Estates Health Care Center in Asheville following an extended period of declining health. A native of Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Roxie Kate Allen Wilde and McKinley Prichard “Max” Wilde. She was born on Aug. 30, 1919. She retired in 1993 from Belk Stores in Asheville, following a long career in private businesses, including the Ruth Originals Co., Briarwood Motel in Hendersonville and Belk. She was a leading salesperson in the women’s department at Belk in Asheville Mall for many years, retiring one day short of her 74th birthday following a fall which required extensive rehabilitation. Her principal interests in life were her family, the success of business enterprises in which she was engaged, educational opportunities for youth in her family and gardening. While her health permitted, her lawn was annually among the most attractive in the Haw Creek community. She was preceded in death by three. Surviving are her daughter, Wilma Jean Metcalf Sinclair of Weaverville; her son, Clifton Blake Metcalf, and his wife, Marie Barrett Metcalf, of Lake Junaluska; one sister, Pearl Vernell Wilde McMahan of Asheville; four grandchildren, Jeannie Rene Sinclair McKnight and her husband, Dr. Ed McKnight,of Taylors, S.C., Dr. Sara Catherine Metcalf of Pinehurst, Clifton Blake Metcalf Jr. and his wife, Christina, of Charlotte, and William Carleton Metcalf and his wife, Lisa, of Fairview; two step-grandchildren, Jim Grasty and his wife, Robin, of Waynesville and Dawn Grasty of Durham; five great-grandchildren, Forest and Will McKnight of Taylors, Caitlyn, Courtney and Carter Metcalf of Charlotte, and Will and Claire Metcalf of Fairview; and two step-great-grandchildren, Michelle and Shawna Grasty of Waynesville. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Madison Funeral Home at Marshall with the Rev. Joe Fulk Jr., chaplain and director of ministries at Givens Estates, officiating. Burial will be in the family plot of Tillery cemetery on Windy Ridge Road, Marshall. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Clifton and Carleton Metcalf; grandson-in-law Ed McKnight; nephew, Ken Hembree of Weaverville; and Jack Whitson and Eric Lauff, Mrs. Metcalf’s neighbors at Haw Creek. The family will receive friends at 2 p.m. Saturday at Madison Funeral Home, 1750 N.C. 213, at Marshall. Leonard Wyatt

Leonard Wyatt, 54, of Waynesville, died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004, at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Haywood County, he was born on June 18, 1950, to Pearl Smith Wyatt of Waynesville and the late Cling Wyatt. He worked as an electrician for the Haywood County School System. Surviving are his wife, Debbie Wyatt; mother, Pearl Smith Wyatt of Waynesville; son, Matthew Pressley of Waynesville; daughter, Crystal Clark and her husband, Amos, of Fuquay Varina; three brothers, Clifford Wyatt and his wife, Bessie, of Waynesville, Ed and Ned Wyatt, both of Waynesville; grandchild, Nathan Clark; half sister, Christine Banks of Asheville; mother-in-law, Shelby Jean Hannah of Waynesville; and a special best friend, Ronnie Wilson. A service was held at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations. The Revs. Daryl Hannah and Charles Brown officiated. Burial was in Rocky Branch cemetery. Pallbearers were Gary Wyatt, Larry Wyatt, Mike Wyatt, Ronnie Wilson, Dale Burris, Joe Magalhaes, Brian Wyatt and David Early. Nellie I. Reed

CANTON — Nellie Iona Reed, 102, died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004, at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. She was the daughter of the late Augusta Alexander and Ida Pless Reed. She was employed at Enka and Champion International and was a member of Canton First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers. Surviving are one sister, Nannie Reed of Canton; one foster brother, Carl Cagle of Canton; a niece whom she raised, Dot Reed Hyatt of Clyde; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who were very special to her. A graveside service was held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Piney Grove United Methodist Church cemetery with the Revs. Alice P. Day and W.O. Bill Henson officiating. The family received friends one hour prior to the service at Wells Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Canton. At other times, the family was at the residence of Nannie Reed, 52 Vine St., Canton. Wilcy M. Smith

CANDLER — Wilcy Mae Mathes Smith, 88, of 270 Beaverdam Loop Road, Candler, died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004, at her home. She was born in Haywood County and was a daughter of the late Riley and Hester Davis Mathes. She was a charter member of Beaverdam Freewill Baptist Church where she was a former treasurer and choir member and active in the church auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank G. Smith, who died in 1996; and was also preceded in death by three sisters, Louise Garnes, Mary Shipman and Hester Heatherly and by three brothers, Roy, Richard and Dan Mathes. Surviving are three daughters, Muriel Brown and her late husband, Albert, of Hendersonville, Nancy Cole and her husband, James, of Leicester and Frankie Davis and her husband, Clyde, of Arden; two sisters, Rosa Gibson of Albertville, Ala., and Ruth Smith of Candler; and 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Service were held at 2 p.m. Friday at Beaverdam Free Will Baptist Church with the Revs. Tommy Crowe and Larry Collins officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were great-grandsons. The family received friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue. Nathaniel H. Burgess Nathaniel Hank Burgess, infant son of Jonathan R. and Kendra B. Burgess, died Friday, Oct. 14, 2004, at Haywood Regional Medical Center. Surviving in addition to parents are grandparents, uncles and aunts. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sugar Cove cemetery with the Rev. Bobby Rogers officiating. Robert M. Davis

Robert Max Davis, 64, of Waynesville, passed from one family to another Wednesday morning, Oct. 13, 2004, at Haywood Regional Medical Center. He was the son of the late Max and Edna Crawford Davis. Robert along with his siblings, Roy, Tulen, Esther, and Hester were raised with a strong mountain heritage. He was a husband, a daddy, a papaw, a grandpa, and a brother. He lived his life devoting it to others. Robert was married for 44 years to the love of his life, Jean, and with her, raised two sons, Jim and Richie. He was a craftsman of leather, knives and such; a builder of family and friendships; and a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed. He was rarely seen without a smile on his face. After years of dedicated service to Blue Ridge Papers, he was known for helping many others. He was an avid handyman for anyone who asked. And, in the process of fixing a pipe or a car, he always entertained with jokes and stories. Many observed this at his craft shop where he entertained people while personalizing their leather apparel. He was so proud of his wife, two sons, and grandchildren. He was careful not to waste his time, preferring to spend it with his children and grandchildren as they grew up. He was always there for them during every game and at every practice, he could be found on the sidelines or in the grandstands. Afternoons and weekends were spent throwing ball, playing basketball, eating watermelon, and just watching TV with those he loved. He entertained the grandchildren with lawnmower rides, assisted in climbing apple trees, building playhouses, supervising sled rides, renovating, advising, gardening, and traveling. He was a Red Cross volunteer, a cancer survivor and a jack-of-all-trades. In addition to his wife, Jean, he is survived by two sons, Jim, and his wife, Julie, and Richie and his wife, Dianna; two sisters, Tulen Kirkpatrick and Esther McCall; three granddaughters, Ashley, Tyffany and Brandi Davis, one step-granddaughter, Ashley White; three grandsons, Jake, John Jr., and Chase Davis; and three step-grandsons, Andrew and Tyler White. The celebration of a life well lived will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Homes and Cremation Services with the Rev. Mike Leslie officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Red Cross, Haywood Chapter, 1668 Brown Ave., Waynesville, NC 28786.

William Prevost Jr.

Dr. William Sidney Prevost Jr., 65, of Country Club Drive, Waynesville, died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004, at Mission Hospitals. Wells Funeral Homes and Cremation Services of Waynesville is in charge of arrangements.

Ray H. Stoner

Ray H. Stoner, 86, formerly of Cranberry Township, Pa., died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004, at Autumn Care of Waynesville. A native of New Florence, Pa., he was born March 16, 1918, a son of the late Hiram and Grace Wallace Stoner. Ray and his wife, Jane, have resided in Haywood County for the past five years. A graduate in 1940 from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, he worked at various companies and later became a sales consultant in that field before his retirement. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Jane Katherine Swart Stoner; a daughter, Kaaren Stoner and her husband, David Erickson, of Waynesville; two sons, Jeffrey Stoner and his wife, Linda, of Weaverville and Ray Scott Stoner of New Galilee, Pa; two sisters, Marion Flynn, of Long Island, N.Y., and Alice Richards of Venice, Fla.; a brother, Roger Stoner, of Detroit, Mich.; and one granddaughter, Kelly Stoner, of Denver, Colo. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the local chapter of the American Red Cross, 1668 Brown Ave., Waynesville, NC 28786. Nina Mae S. Myers

CANTON — Nina Mae Sharp Myers, 76, of 5173 Dutch Cove Road, Canton, died Friday, Oct. 8, 2004. A native of Gloucster, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Arnold and Alma Schultz Sharp. She had resided in Mullica Hill, N.J., and Tempe, Ariz., before moving to Canton to live with her son and grandson. She retired from Herbert H. Butler law firm with 30 years of service as a legal secretary. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy Zane, Ester Brooks and Alberta Sharp; and her late husband, Herman Myers, who passed away in 1975. Surviving are her daughters, Joyce Lake and her husband, David of Tempe; Donna Lee Chavez and her husband, Gabe, of Mesa, Ariz.; her sons, Bruce Myers and his wife, Marie, of Canton, and Herman Myers and his wife, Betty, of Holland, Pennsylvania; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A graveside funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Eglington- Woodbury Memorial Park in Clarksboro, N.J.. Crawford / Ray Funeral Home is caring for the Myers family.

Dr. Warren H. Kitts

Dr. Warren Hugh Kitts, 79, of Brown Avenue, Waynesville, died Saturday, April 17, 2004, at Haywood Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Grainger County, Tenn., and was the son of the late Virgil and Ada Nell Beeler Kitts. He graduated from Knoxville High School. He attended Wake Forest University and received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Tennessee. He was on staff for two years at the Dorthea Dix Hospital in Raleigh and began his dental practice in Hazelwood, retiring in 1985 after 30 years. He was a Navy veteran having served during World War II with the submarine service. He was a member of the Hazelwood Baptist Church and was a Sunday School teacher and deacon. He was a member of the Hazelwood Lions Club and was an avid gardener. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Frances Payne. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Betty Disney Kitts; two daughters, Iva Nell Rhea and her husband, David, of Houston, Texas, and Myra Lou Ross and her husband, Jack, of Clyde; two sons, Warren Hugh Kitts Jr. and his wife, Robin, of Richmond, Va., and Kenneth Dale Kitts and his wife, Dena, of Latta, S.C.; two brothers, Gordon Kitts of Knoxville and Kenneth Kitts of Belmont; and seven grandchildren, Kit and Kallie Rhea, Jake and Tyler Ross and Kati, Kameryn and Christopher Kitts. Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Hazelwood Baptist Church. The Revs. Don Letzring and Larry Reeves officiated. The burial was in Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Jack, Jake and Tyler Ross, Christopher Kitts, A.J. Plemmons, J.R. Caldwell, Chuck Reece and Tim McCall. The deacons of Hazelwood Baptist Church and the Senior Men’s Sunday School class served as honorary pallbearers. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Wells Funeral Homes and Cremation Services of Waynesville, where the body remained until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the services. Candy Y. Seay

Candy Yvonne Seay, 49, of 1145 Coleman Mountain Road, Waynesville, died Friday, April 16, 2004, at the home of her sister. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of Phoebe Bailey Seay and the late W.L. Seay Jr. She was employed in the accounts receivable department at Midway Medical Center. She was a 1972 graduate of Pisgah High School. She worked at Dayco for 17 years before graduating from Haywood Community College with a degree in administrative office technology. She owned and operated Fishin’ Fever Bait and Tackle in Surgoinsville, Tenn., where she became a very skilled fly tier. She loved to fish as well as quilt, cross-stitch and crochet. She was a member of Good Samaritan Baptist Church. In addition to her mother, she is survived by two sisters, Reta Miller and her husband, Dean, of Waynesville and Carolyn Cannon and her husband, Paul, of Clyde; two brothers, Doug Seay and his wife, Barbara, of Clyde and Gene Seay and his wife, Barbara, of Marshville; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She will also be missed by her faithful little companion “Scooter.” Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Good Samaritan Baptist Church with the Revs. Bobby Downs and Joe Stroud officiating. Burial was in Fincher’s Chapel cemetery in Clyde. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Wells Funeral Homes and Cremation Services of Waynesville. Charles C. Karriker

CANTON — Charles Caldwell Karriker, 73, of 72 Slow Lane, died Saturday, April 17, 2004, at Catawba Medical Center in Hickory. He was a native of Rowan County and the son of the late Shellie Brown and Katie Bost Karriker. He was an Air Force Veteran serving from 1947 to 1949 and 1951 to 1955 during the Korean War. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church of Canton from 1953 to present and a member of the church choir. He was a member of Pigeon River Lodge 386 AF&AM, which he entered in July 1957, passed in August 1957 and was raised in October 1957, and he was past Master. He was an honorary member of the Clyde Lodge 453, the Sonoma Lodge 472 and the Oconee Lodge 427. He was a member of Oasis Temple in Charlotte, Tri-County Shrine Club and past president of the Club. He was a 32nd Degree Scottish rite mason. He was married to the late Jean Galliene, who passed away Nov. 25, 1998. He was preceded in death by a brother, Hugh B. Karriker, who died April 9, 2004. Surviving are his wife, Gertrude Gillett Karriker of Canton; two daughters, Nancy K. Allen of Canton and Suzanne K. Porche of Candler; two stepchildren, Debra Sue Dills of Franklin and Chris Taylor of Clyde; three step-grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia K. Sloop of Mooresville and Evelyn K. Ennis of Wallace; and three brothers, Hoke P., Paul L. and Dale S. Karriker, all of Mooresville. Service with Masonic rites will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Rev. Carroll Lindsey officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. He will then be at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, China Grove, where funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Concordia Lutheran Church in China Grove. The Revs. Dr. Larry Bost and Ken Reed will officiate. Burial will follow at the Concordia Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Family Life Center of Concordia Lutheran Church. Ernest M. Bueker Sr.

CLYDE — Ernest Monroe Moe Bueker Sr., 82, died Sunday, April 18, 2004, at his residence. He was a native of Lafayette County, Mo., and lived in Haywood County for the past 61 years. He was the son of the late Herman and Flora Ostermeyer Bueker. He retired in 1988 from Champion International with 41 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Clyde, Clyde Masonic Lodge 453 AF&AM, Scottish Rite of Asheville, York Rite of Waynesville and Clyde Chapter 188 Order of the Eastern Star. He was a Coast Guard veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Haynes Bueker, who died in 2002. Surviving are a daughter, Lois Bueker Rogers; a son, Ernest M. Bueker Jr., both of Clyde; a sister, Lillian B. Frickie of Rockville, Mo.; a brother, Wilburn James Bueker of Higginsville, Mo.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Revs. James Parham and Jerry Harwell officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens with Masonic graveside rites. The Clyde Lodge 453 AF&AM will open at noon Wednesday. EASLEY, S.C. — James Wade Carman, 81, died Friday April 16, 2004, at Autumn Care Nursing Home in Waynesville. Born in Easley, he was the son of the late William Ralph and Cannie Mae Bracken Carman. He retired from Roper Motor Company and Watts Appraisal Service in Greenville.He was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church and was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. Surviving are two daughters, Dottie C. Dowling of Sylva, and Jamie C. Duncan of Groton, Conn.; three grandchildren, Hank Dowling, Anne Nixon and Krislin Duncan; and four great-grandchildren Kyle Dowling, Hannah Nixon, David Nixon and Rebecca Nixon. Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with the Rev. Jim Ed Powell officiating. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family received friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Memorials may be made to the Residence Council Fund at Autumn Care Nursing Center, P. O. Box 330, Waynesville, NC 28786.

Joe Ferguson

ASHEVILLE — Joe Ferguson, 73, of 38 Crowell Road, Asheville, died Saturday, April 17, 2004. He was born in Madison County and was a son of the late Richard Pearson Ferguson and Mae Belle Ferguson. He served with the U.S. Marine Crops and was retired after 35 years with American Enka. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Jeanette Purdue and a brother Jack Ferguson. Surviving are one son, Joey Ferguson and his wife, Margaret, of Canton; a granddaughter, Ashley Chambers; a grandson, Andrew Ferguson; his special friend, Dorothy L. Rhodes; six sisters, Maggie Gunde of Baltimore, Md., Betty King of Clyde, Lucy Hardy of Bel-Air, Md., Blanche Rogers of Clyde, Christine Garens of Waynesville and Martha Ferguson of Clyde; and one brother, Bob Ferguson of Clyde. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Ray Ferguson officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home of the son, 288 Laurel Ridge Road, Canton. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 31 College Place, Suite D320, Asheville, NC 28801-2644.

Beulah I. Tyler

CANTON — Beulah Inman Tyler, 97, of 34 Spruce St., died Thursday, April 15, 2004, at her residence. She was a native of Haywood County, where she lived most of her life. She was a daughter of the late James Baxter and Mary Etta Sellars Inman and was the wife of Maurice L. Tyler who died in 1990. She was a descendent of James Anderson Inman, founder of the Inman Chapel at Lake Logan. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Austin, Elmo, Doyle, James and Claude Inman; and two sisters, Truletta Earnhardt and Thelma Knott. Surviving are her son, Donald Tyler and his wife, Martha, of Ware Shoals, S.C.; brother, Charles Inman and his wife, Ruth, of Talco, Texas; four grandchildren, Charles Tyler of Watkinsville, Ga., Robert Tyler and his wife, Kelley, of Canton, Maurice Tyler of Ware Shoals, S.C., and Lori Tyler of Nashville, Tenn.; four great-grandchildren, Justin, Jordan, Camille and Nathan Tyler; five nephews, seven nieces and many great-nephews and great-nieces. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Darrell Webb officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Wells Funeral Homes of Canton. At other times the family will be at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, Home Health Building, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
