He was preceded in death by two sons, Harold Dean and Raleigh Wayne Blackburn. He is survived by his wife, Helen Haire Blackburn; two sons, Clay Blackburn and Bill Blackburn, both of West Jefferson; two daughters, Charlotte Elliott, Todd, and Wanda Terry, Lenoir; one brother, Ocie Blackburn, Deep Gap; two sisters, Vera Church, Deep Gap, and Belva Swartz, Nebraska; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Frank Weaver. He was a professional surveyor in the New England area and retired from his engineering and surveying firm to move to Miami, Fla. Retirement was short lived and he co-founded another firm of engineers, planners and surveyors, Metric Engineering, in Miami, Fla. Following a second retirement, he moved to Grassy Creek. He is survived by his wife, Iris Lea Van Wyk; two sons, Harold, Fleetwood, and Roy, Miami, Fla.; a daughter, Lois Van Wyk, Gainesville, Fla.; three step-daughters, Cynthia Covil, Shallotte, Carolyn Keziah, Monroe, and Lori Griffin, Savannah, Ga.; and several grandchildren and step-grandchildren.
