Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at 3:30 pm at the Greer cemetery by Rev. Garrett Mahaffey.

John Wiles Sr.
Mr. John Clayton Wiles Sr., age 64 of West Jefferson, NC died Sunday, November 15, 2009 at his home. Mr. Wiles was born March 9, 1945 in Bradshaw, WV to the late Everett and Opal Carpenter Wiles. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Margie Wiles.
The family will receive friends from 11:00-12:00 Thursday, November 19, 2009 at Badger Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow in the Calhoun cemetery by Rev. Darrell Graybeal with military rites.

Mrs. Evelyn Molly Owensby Jones age 72, of Warrensville, North Carolina died on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. Mrs. Jones was born on March 6, 1937 in Weaverville, NC to Fulton and Evelyn Hess Owensby. Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Charles Owensby, daughter, Karen Jones, step-son, Edward Jones and step-grandson, Junior Jones.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the Clifton Baptist Church by Rev. Jim Greer, Rev. David Lyalls, Rev. Jimmy Galgann and Rev. Wayne Jones. Burial will follow in the Jones Family cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM prior to the service.

Danish Richardson
Mrs. Danish Jerrell Brooks Richardson age 80 of Lansing, NC died Saturday, November 14, 2009 at Watauga Medical Center. Mrs. Richardson was born September 26, 1929 in Ashe County to the late John and Hattie Ham Brooks. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by sisters: Faye Caudill, Sallie Brooks and Maggie Segraves and brothers: Worth, Ray, Click and Ben Brooks.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 2pm at Badger Funeral Home chapel by Rev. Lloyd Day. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm prior to the service.

Mary Nell Mahaffey
Mrs. Mary Nell Elliott Mahaffey age 74, of Lansing, North Carolina died on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at the Margate Health and Rehab Center in Jefferson, NC. Mrs. Mahaffey was born on August 3, 1935 in Ashe County to Clairance and Annie Eller Elliott. Mrs. Mahaffey was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Mahaffey and sisters Eda Mae Shatley and Vielea Shepherd. Mrs. Mahaffey loved quilting and crocheting. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 8, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Joey McClure, Rev. Fred Richardson and Rev. Elliott Osowitt. Burial will follow in Stagg Creek Community cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at Badger Funeral Home.

Mr. Billy Wayne Stike age 61, of Lansing, North Carolina died on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at his home. Mr. Stike was born on May 20, 1948 in Ashe, NC to Worth and Grace Gentry Stike. Mr. Stike was preceded in death by his parents and brother Harold Stike. Mr. Stike was a member of Oak Hill Baptisit Church.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Oak Hill Baptist Church cemetery by Danny Farmer.

Mrs. Ella Mae Brinegar Denny age 93, of Jefferson, North Carolina died on Friday, October 23, 2009 at the Segraves Care Center in Jefferson, NC. Mrs. Denny was born on June 30, 1916 in Ashe, NC to the late Charlie and Laura Keesling Brinegar. Mrs. Denny was preceded in death by: husband: Brice Denny, daughter, Dana Williams, granddaughter, Nancy Lane. Mrs. Denny was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. She loved to sing and listen to gospel music. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and gardening.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2009 at 3:00 PM at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Ken Morris. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 25, 2009 prior to the service at Badger Funeral Home.

Mr. Coram Basil Reavis, better known as Basil, of Warrensville, NC died Thursday, October 22, 2009 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mr. Reavis was born February 9, 1929 in Davie County to the late Gorham and Faye McCorkle Reavis. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a brother: Charles Reavis.

Mr. James Ivan Brooks, better known as Bunk, age 77 of West Jefferson, NC died Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at his home. Mr. Brooks was born April 17, 1932 in Ashe County to the late John and Lue Blackburn Brooks.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 24, 2009 at Old Fields Baptist Church by Rev. Jack Miller. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
