Mr. Dennis Eric Eller better known as Fred age 44 of West Jefferson died Saturday, August 15, 2009 at NC Baptist Hospital. Mr. Eller was born September 4, 1964 in Ashe County to Dennis and Mary Sue Trivette Eller. He was preceded in death by his father. He loved camping, hunting, fishing and working in the garden.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at Badger Chapel by Rev. Dean Watson and Rev. Gene Shepherd. Burial will follow in the Kemp-Lewis cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 PM prior to the service.

Billie June Lambert Walker
Mrs. Billie June Lambert Walker age 74 of Crumpler, NC died Saturday, August 22, 2009 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Walker was born in Glendale Springs, NC on January 26, 1935 to the late Paul and Mabel Mash Lambert. She was a member of Chestnut Hill Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 24, 2009 at 11am at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Randall Greene. Burial will follow in the Chestnut Hill Methodist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Sunday, August 23, 2009 at Badger Funeral Home.

Edna Holman Harless
Mrs. Edna Holman Harless, age 77 of West Jefferson, NC died Friday, July 17, 2009 at her home. Mrs. Harless was born August 17, 1931 in Ashe County to the late Samuel Lee Holman and Ethel Woods Holman. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Ross Harless and grandson Shawn Harless.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, July 19, 2009 at Bethel Baptist Church by Rev. Robert Harless and Rev. Mark Harless, her sons. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from, 6:00 – 8:30 PM Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Badger Funeral Home.

Dewey Clifford Bare
Mr. Dewey Clifford Bare, better known as D.C. age 63 of Jefferson, NC died Monday July 13, 2009 at Watauga Medical Center. Mr. Bare was born February 19, 1946 in Ashe County to the late Cosby and Hattie Bare. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a brother, Issac Bare and a sister, Nellie McNeill. Mr. Bare loved to be outdoors and loved working on vehicles.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 16, 2009 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Dan Edwards. Burial will follow in the Roans Creek cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 9:00 PM Wednesday, July 15th at Badger Funeral Home.

Miss. Patricia Ellen Patterson age 43 of Crumpler died Saturday, July 11, 2009. Miss. Patterson was born in Smyth Count, VA to Ken Patterson and the late Barbara Carol Tuell Houck.

Miss. Patterson is survived by, her father Ken Patterson of NY, one son, Courtney Dewayne Patterson of Lansing, two daughters, Stephanie Ann Testerman and Cassandra Testerman both of Wilkesboro, three brothers, Andy Patterson of Marion, VA, Timothy Cruey of the home, Brady Cruey of Crumpler, three sisters, Stacy Crawford of Lansing, Tina Turnmire of Laurel Springs, Brandy Cruey of Elk Creek, VA, maternal grandparents, Rev. Mrs. Elsie Mullins Huffman age 92 of Sparta, NC died Sunday, July 12, 2009 at her daughter’s home. Mrs. Huffman was born July 24, 1916 in Pineville, WV to the late William and Emily Mullins. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Huffman and daughter, Patsy Edwards. Mrs. Huffman loved to read her bible and attend church.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at Chestnut Hill Methodist Church by Rev. Johnny Huffman. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday, July 14th at Badger Funeral Home.

Carl Jackson Carter
Mr. Carl Jackson Carter, age 70 of Warrensville, died Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Ashe Memorial Hospital in Jefferson. Mr. Carter was born in Ashe County to the late Mathis and Ruby Badger Carter. He served in the United States Army. He loved to read and work in his garden.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 10, 2009 at 2pm at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Charlie McCoy and Rev. Tommy Stevens. Burial will follow in the Perry cemetery in Lansing. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm Friday prior to the funeral service at Badger Funeral Home.

Mr. Billy Joe Young age 69 of Grassy Creek died Monday, July 6, 2009 at Wilkes Regional Medical Center. Mr. Young was born October 3, 1939 in Ashe County to the late Lester and Jessie Handy Young.
