In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Zana Stike Smith. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2007 at 10:00 AM at Badger Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Thulia Burgess
Mrs. Thulia Blevins Burgess, age 81 of Jefferson, NC died Wednesday, January 2, 2007 at Margate Health & Rehab. Mrs. Burgess was born August 11, 1926 in Ashe County to Edmond and Ocie Anne Blevins.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Roger Blevins and Sam Blevins Jr. Burial will follow in Scott-Blevins cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral service.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Friday, January 5th at Badger Funeral Home.

Mr. Banner Earl Barker age 79 of Greenville, NC died Monday, December 31, 1007 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC. Mr. Barker was born September 11, 1928 in Ashe County to the late Donald and Bertha Stansberry Barker. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife Ruth Campbell Barker. Funeral services were held at 4:30 PM, Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Barker was interred in the Blevins cemetery. Stewart James Wilcox
Mr. Stewart James Wilcox age 81 of Todd died Saturday morning at his home.
Funeral services will be held Monday, at 11 a.m. at Badger Funeral Home by Rev. Tommy Graybeal and Pastor Martha Kincaid. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens with military Rites.

Mrs. Ella Severt Lambert, age 93 of Jefferson, NC died Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Lambert was born December 10, 1914 in Ashe County to the late Jessie and Matilda Mash Severt. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband: Wiley Lambert, son: Roy Thomas Lambert, Brothers: Glay, Bart and Archie Severt.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 22, 2007 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Mace Johnson. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:00 AM prior to the service.

Nellie Lyall
Nellie Faye Lyall, age 60 of Statesville, NC died Monday, December 17 2007 at Britthaven of Wilkesboro. Miss Lyall was born March 21, 1947 in Ashe County to the late Wiley and Edna Lyall. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by brothers: Ambrose, Bill and Claude Lyall.

Joann Boulden
Mrs. Joann Boulden(Collins)better known as Jo age 71 of Crumpler died Friday, December 14, 2007 at Ashe Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Boulden was born on November 29, 1936 to the late Edward Randolph and Hilda Collins. She loved to garden, cook, and paint. She dearly loved spending time with her family and her many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband William B. Boulden.

Mrs. Boulden is survived by, three daughters, Debbie Droege (John), Diane Miller (Gary), Denise McBride (Barry), one sister, Colette Hade (Rolla), 8 grandchildren, Katie, Andrew McWherter, Nick, Daniel Droege, Joshua, Jessica Miller, Brandi, Tyler McBride, 2 nieces and 2 great-nephews also survive.

Mr. Alexander Paul Graham better known as Alex age 21 of Lansing died Friday, December 7, 2007 at Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Graham was born September 26, 1986 in Fairfax, VA to Donald Graham and Dedra Cummings Able. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ken Graham.

Tammy Grace Phillips
Miss Tammy Grace Phillips, daughter of Blaine and Geneva Phillips, age 44 of Jefferson, died Friday, December 7, 2007 at Ashe Memorial Hospital.
Miss. Phillips was born on January 26, 1963 to Edward "Blaine" and Geneva Howell Phillips. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Ira and Ella Mae Walters Phillips and Spencer "Spence" & Beulah Howell.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 9, 2007 at 10:00am at Badger Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Powers, Rev. Ken Howell and Rev. Lloyd Day officiating. Burial will follow in Scott Blevins cemetery.

Brandon Liddle
Mr. Brandon Ray Liddle age 27 of Jefferson, NC, died Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at his home. Mr. Liddle was born September 20, 1980 in Ashe County to Tommy and Brenda Calloway Liddle. Brandon loved playing with his daughter, Tyler Nicole. Brandon also enjoyed hunting, riding horses, motorcycles and four wheelers.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 1, 2007 at Roans Creek Primitive Baptist Church cemetery by Rev. Russell Sheets and Rev. Billy Joe Blevins.

Paul Reed
Mr. Paul Arnold Reed, Sr. age 65, of Laurel Springs, NC died Saturday, November 24, 2007 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mr. Reed was born May 13, 1942 in Ashe County to the late William and Virgie Carson Reed. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers; Bob and Tom Reed. Mr. Reed attended Peak Creek Church of the Brethren. Mr. Reed enjoyed talking walks and spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Doug Diamond and Rev. Bobby Phillips. Burial will follow in the Reed Family cemetery in Laurel Springs.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 27th from 6:00-8:00 PM at Badger Funeral Home.
