HENDERSON -- Clarence Plummer, 79, of 23 Frank Bullock Road, died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2000, at Maria Parham Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. today at Wright Funeral Home of Henderson by the Rev. A.A. Brown. Burial will be in the Manson Baptist Church cemetery.
Surviving are two daughters, Sandra Copeland and Robin Fuller; four sons, C. Ervin Bullock, Tony Bullock, Kim Bullock, and Terry Bullock; one brother, Frank Bullock Jr. of the home; one brother, William Plummer of Manson; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family received visitors from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Wright Funeral Home of Henderson.
Charles R. Prince Sr.
WARRENTON -- Charles Russell Prince Sr., 78, of 120 Ridgecrest Drive, died Monday, Dec. 25, 2000, at Community Memorial Healthcenter. He was a native of Brownsville, Md., and the son of the late Charles Brown Prince and Mattie Hicks Prince.
He was a member of Macon United Methodist Church and a U.S. Army veteran.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Macon United Methodist Church by the Revs. Carol Groves, Judy Westmon and Rob Evans. Burial will follow in Greenwood cemetery in Macon.
Surviving are his wife, Peggy Loyd Prince of the home; one son, Charles “Chuck” Prince of Macon; one brother, Bernard Hicks Prince of Suffolk, Va.; and one grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Terry Loyd, C.S. Sipes, Mike Sipes, Davis Myrick, Billy Britt, Steve Mitche, Steve Soppa and Scott McClees.
Memorials may be made to the Macon United Methodist Church.

HENDERSON -- Lawrence Thomas Ragland, 58, of 431 Owen St., died Monday, Dec. 25, 2000, at Maria Parham Hospital.
The family will receive friends at the residence and also at the residence of Vincent Ragland, 210 Tall Pine Drive.

Codell S. Royster
OXFORD -- Codell S. Royster, 74, of 8649 Robert Morgan Road, died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2000, at the Granville Medical Center. She was a Granville County native and the daughter of the late Jim and Cora Overby Strong.
She was a member of the New Johnathan Creek Baptist Church where she served on the Pastor’s Aide Club, Usher Board, Senior Choir and the Missionary Circle.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the New Johnathan Creek Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Robert E. Page. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Betts and Son Funeral Home Inc.

WISE -- Bessie Alexander, of Wise, died Tuesday ,Dec. 26, 2000, at Maria Parham Hospital in Henderson.

WARREN COUNTY -- Levonia Alston, formerly of Warren County, died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, at Vencor Hospital in Greensboro.

Clyde R. Clayton
CREEDMOOR -- Clyde Ray Clayton, 84, of 204 Fleming St., died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, at Meadowlands in Hillsborough. She was a Wake County native, the daughter of the late Samuel B. and Lucy Peed Ray and the widow of Thomas Clayton.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Creedmoor and was a retired bookkeeper.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Eakes Funeral Chapel in Creedmoor by the Rev. Don Brown. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens.
Surviving are a daughter, Ann Clayton Dickerson of Creedmoor; three sisters, Frances R. Edgerton and Evelyn R. Smith, both of Greensboro, Dorothy R. Carden of Durham; two grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church in Creedmoor Building Fund, P.O. Box 38, Creedmoor, N.C. 27522 or to Triangle Hospice, 1001 Corporate Drive, Hillsborough, N.C. 27278.
Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday prior to the funeral at the Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor and at other times at 204 Fleming St., in Creedmoor.

WARRENTON -- Earnest Lee Howard, 35, of Warrenton, died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000, at the U.N.C. Hospital in Chapel Hill.

Lawrence T. Ragland
HENDERSON -- Lawrence Thomas Ragland, 58, of 431 Owen St., died Monday, Dec. 25, 2000, at Maria Parham Hospital. He was a Vance County native and the son of Mable Jones Ragland and Samuel Ragland Sr.
He was a member of Big Ruin Creek Missionary Baptist Church where funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday by the Rev. Dr. Clyde B. Walton. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Surviving, other than his parents, are his wife, Mamie Williams Ragland of the home; one daughter, Waltrina Davis of Portsmouth, Va.; three sons, Anthony Ragland of New York, Vincent Ragland and Fountaine Ragland, both of Henderson; five sisters, Esther Lumpkins of Camden, N.J., Wanda Parham and Linda Norwood, both of Henderson, Gloria Vaughan of Ridgeway and Bridgett Bailey of Virginia; two brothers, Larry Ragland and Samuel Edward Ragland, both of Henderson; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the residence and tonight at the home of Vincent Ragland, 210 Tall Pine Drive.
The body will be on view at the church one hour before the service.

Levonia Alston
WARRENTON -- Levonia Alston, 59, formerly of Warren County, died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, at the Vencor Hospital in Greensboro.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Sunday at Spring Green Baptist Church in Warrenton. The Rev. Robert Burnette will officiate. Burial will be in the family’s cemetery.
Surviving are two sisters, Annie C. Young of Englewood, N.J., and Ethel Townes of Paterson, N.J.

Nannie B. Cooke
HENDERSON -- Nannie Belle Cooke, 87, of 712 John St., died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, at Britthaven of Henderson. She was a Vance County native and the daughter of the late Charles and Josephine Cooke.
She received her education and was a graduate of Henderson Institute. She resided later in New Jersey where she was employed and later retired after 50 years of service from the Newark Steel Plant.
Surviving is one sister, Josephine C. Atwater of Henderson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Garnes Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in the Blacknall cemetery.

MANSON -- Evelyn Hargrove, 77, of Manson, died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000, at Maria Parham Hospital in Henderson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Oak Level United Church of Christ in Manson. The Rev. Leon White, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Surviving are 10 daughters, Susie H. Terry of Norlina, Ella Kersey of Middleburg, Ethel R. Hargrove and Sarah Godfrey, both of Boston, Mass., Mary P., Bobby Jones and Clementine Smith, all of Maryland, Carrie Yancey of Moncure, Lucille Bullock and Edith Lewis, both of Manson; three sons, Samuel N. Hargrove Jr. of Henderson, William E. Hargrove of Maryland and Odell Hargrove of the home; 31 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Henderson of Baltimore, Md., and Thomas Henderson of Philadelphia, Pa.

PALMER SPRINGS, VA. -- Leon Harrison, 53, formerly of Palmer Springs, Va., died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Wilmore Henderson Sr.
KITTRELL -- Wilmore Henderson Sr., 82, of 555 N. Chavis Road, died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, at Pine Haven Rest Home.
He was a retired farmer.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ilong Baptist Church by the Rev. James L. Lawson. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Surviving are two daughters, Lucy H. Jones of Springfield, Mass., and Geneva Brown of Warfield, Va.; two sons, Wilmore Henderson Jr. of Oxford and Tony Henderson of Durham; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

WARRENTON -- Ernest Lee Howard, 35, of Warrenton, died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000, at the U.N.C. Hospital in Chapel Hill.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Roanoke Chapel United Church of Christ in Palmer Springs, Va. The Rev. McCrae, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Gayle Newsome-Howard of the home; one daughter, Shantia Howard of Warrenton; one son, Ernest L. Howard Jr. of Warrenton; his mother, Carolyn G. Williams of Warrenton; his father, Eroy Green of Palmer Springs, Va.; two sisters, Angela G. Johnson and Carolyn Green, both of Warrenton; one brother, Eroy Green Jr. of Warrenton; and his maternal grandfather, Eddie Lee Howard of Wise.
The body will be on view today at Boyd’s Funeral Services in Warrenton until taken to the church one hour prior to the services.

MANSON -- Lenora J. Oxner, 64, of Manson, died Monday, Dec. 25, 2000, at the Maria Parham Hospital in Henderson.

Surviving are one daughter, Helen J. Burchette of Manson; one son, Dennis Johnson of the home; seven granddaughters; two grandsons; three sisters, Mamie Kersey of Henderson, Emma Valentine of Newark, N.J., Mary Seward of Manson; and one brother, Edward Johnson of Richmond, Va.
The family will receive friends at the home of Dennis Johnson on the Burchette Chapel Road in Manson.

OXFORD -- Linda Pettiford Rogers, 46, of 4017 Dooster St., died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, at Granville Medical Center.
She was an employee of Carolina Power & Light Co.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Wright Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Dr. Ezekial K. Best III. Burial will be in Meadowview Memorial Park.
Surviving are her husband, Chester L. Rogers; one daughter, Tamara Renee Rogers of Raleigh; one son, Chester L. Rogers Jr. of the home; one sister, Sandra Joy Pettiford of Oxford; two brothers, George Marshall Pettiford of Savannah, Ga., and Larry Pettiford of Henderson.

WISE -- Bessie Alexander, 75, of Wise, died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000, at Maria Parham Hospital in Henderson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at Locust Grove Baptist Church. The Rev. James Johnson, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Surviving are her husband, Milo Alexander of the home; seven daughters, Mildred Talley of Richmond, Va., Theo Williams and Annette Alexander, both of Wise, Ronnie Lee of Seaboard, Dianne Alexander and Trueilla Montgomery of Bronx, N.Y., and Carolyn Evans of Queens, N.Y.; six sons, Milo Alexander Jr. of Bronx, N.Y., James Alexander and Donnie Alexander, both of Virginia, Bobby Alexander of Wise, Leo Alexander and Leon Alexander, both of Raleigh; 34 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Dr. L.S. Daniel
OXFORD -- Dr. L.S. Daniel, 84, of 124 Pine Cone Drive, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, in Oxford Manor. He was a Granville County native and the son of the late Louie R. and Annie Critcher Daniel.
He attended Wake Forest College and University of Maryland, practiced medicine for 40 years, was a former Granville County commissioner, served on the Granville County School Board for 28 years, was on the Board of Trustees at Granville Medical Center and served as chief of staff, was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and a captain in the U.S. Army in World War II.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church cemetery by the Rev. Patrick Cox.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth M. Daniel of the home; three sons, L. Sam Daniel Jr. and Bruce Daniel, both of Oxford, and William Daniel of Greensboro; and two grandchildren.
The family requests the omission of flowers and memorials to a charity of your choice.
The family will receive friends at the home, 124 Pine Cone Drive.
