BULLOCK -- Catherine Rebecca Morgan, 72, formerly of 121 Brookside Lane, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2001, at Granville Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Wright Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Mack Timberlake Sr. Burial will be in Oak Grove Baptist Church cemetery.
Surviving are four sons, Allen Morgan of Butner and Edward Junior Morgan, James Brandon and Edward Lee Morgan, all of Oxford; five daughters, Ann Franklin of Brooklyn, N.Y., Onia Royster of Raleigh, and Mary Robertson, Catherine Morgan and Diane Bobbitt, all of Oxford; her mother, Nellie Richardson of Baltimore; 38 grandchildren; and 52 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Wright Funeral Home and other times at the home of Edward J. Morgan, 3155 Gela Road.
Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Home of Oxford.

Carrie T. Andrews

HENDERSON -- Carrie Taylor Andrews, 62, of 4381 Warrenton Road died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001, at the Western Wake Medical Center in Cary. She was a Vance County native and the daughter of the late John and Nannie Paschall Taylor. She was the widow of James Andrews Jr.
She was a member of Oak Level United Church of Christ, where the funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday by the Rev. Leon White. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Surviving are one daughter, Nannie Louise Andrews Joyner of Raleigh, and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Garnes Funeral Chapel and at other times at the home.
Pallbearers and floral bearers will be relatives and friends.
Arrangements are by Garnes Funeral Services.

Sylvia Baskett

WARREN COUNTY -- Sylvia Baskett, 93, formerly of Warren County, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2001, at Community Memorial Hospital in South Hill, Va.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ridgeway Baptist Church in Ridgeway. The Rev. W.T. Ramey III will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Arrangements are by R.H. Greene Funeral Home of Warrenton.

Eva Mae Bell

MACON -- Eva Mae Bell, 79, of Macon died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2001, at Duke Medical Center in Durham.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at United Solid Rock Ministries in Warrenton. The Rev. Sidney Moody will officiate. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church cemetery in Macon.
Surviving are her husband, David Bell Sr.; two sons, David Bell Jr. of Norlina and Jerry Bell of Forrestville, Md.; seven daughters, Anna Fowler and Jeanette Bell of the home, Ethel Bell of Stratford, Conn., Mattie Palmer of Baltimore, Diane Russell of Greensboro, Veronica Hargrove of Richmond, Va., and Theotice Alston of Macon; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, the Rev. James Watkins and William Watkins, both of Greensboro; and four sisters, Bessie Horne and Juliet St. Claire, both of Philadelphia, Marie Nettles of Greensboro and Ophelia Foote of Bridgeport, Conn.
Arrangements are by R.H. Greene Funeral Home of Warrenton.

Bessie Davis

WARRENTON -- Bessie Davis, 85, of Warrenton died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2001, at Warren Hills Nursing Center.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at R.H. Greene Funeral Home Chapel in Warrenton. The Rev. A.A. Brown will officiate. Burial will follow in the Coley Springs Baptist Church cemetery.
Surviving are one daughter, Celestine D. Boyd of Warrenton; two sons, William Davis and James Davis, both of Warrenton; 18 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; and five sisters, Ruth Woodard of Warrenton, Josephine K. Floyd, Mary K. Raney and Marie K. Williams, all of Mount Vernon, N.Y., and Ethel K. Perry of Albany, N.Y.
Arrangements are by R.H. Greene Funeral Home of Warrenton.

Williams Evans Jr.

WARRENTON -- Williams Evans Jr., 54, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2001, at his Teaneck, N.J., residence.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the King-Burchette family cemetery by the Rev. A.A. Brown.
Surviving are his mother, Agnes Burchette Evans of Teaneck; a son, Derrick Evans of Teaneck; a sister, LaVerne Evans of Marietta, Ga.; and a brother, Allen Evans of Teaneck.
The body will be on view at the funeral home beginning Friday.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Coleman, Ronald Boyd, Donald Boyd and Eugene Boyd.
Arrangements are by Brown’s Funeral Services of Warrenton and Carnie P. Bragg Funeral Homes of Passaic and Paterson, N.J.

Gladys L. Hawkins

HENDERSON -- Gladys Lyons Hawkins, 79, of 1607 Nicholas St. died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001, at her home.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
Arrangements will be announced later by Mary Davis-Royster Funeral Service.

Walter Hunter

WARREN COUNTY -- Walter Hunter, formerly of Warren County, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2001, in Richmond, Va.
Arrangements will be announced later by R.H. Greene Funeral Home of Warrenton.

Ida Mae Johnson

WARRENTON -- Ida Mae Johnson of the Shocco community died Friday, Feb. 16, 2001, at Duke Medical Center in Durham.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Macedonia Good Shepherd Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ in Warrenton. The Rev. Thurman Davis will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Surviving are her husband, Marshall R. Johnson; two daughters, Cora Arrington of Paterson, N.J., and Celestine Jones of Warrenton; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Christine Williams of Hackensack, N.J., Darnella Williams of Detroit and Julia D. Williams of Henderson; and one brother, Eugene Williams of Louisburg.
Arrangements are by R.H. Greene Funeral Home of Warrenton.

Elizabeth D. Jones

CREEDMOOR -- Elizabeth Dement Jones, 71, of 1196 Cash Road died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2001, at her home. She was a Durham County native and the daughter of the late Herman and Alice Emory Dement.
She was of the Baptist faith and was retired from John Umstead Hospital.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Creedmoor cemetery by the Rev. Greg Allison.
Surviving are her husband, Jack C. Jones; two daughters, Catherine Johnson and Deone Wilkins, both of Creedmoor; a son, Wyatt Johnson of Creedmoor; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor and other times at the home.
Arrangements are by Eakes Funeral Home of Creedmoor.

Jessie L. London

CLEVELAND -- The Rev. Jessie L. London died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2001, in Cleveland.
He served as an intern at the Episcopal churches in Oxford before leaving to attend an Episcopal seminary in Virginia.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia London, and two daughters, Michele London, a student at Bennett College in Greensboro, and Kelly London of the home.
Graveside services will be held at noon Monday at Nelson Chapel Baptist Church in Louisburg.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Scholarship Fund at St. Gabriel Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 66154, Jacksonville, Fla. 32208.
The local announcement is by Betts & Son Funeral Home of Oxford.

Willie E. Pettaway

HENDERSON -- Willie Edward Pettaway, 46, of 843 N. Garnett St. died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2001, at Maria Parham Hospital. He was a Vance County native and the son of Mary L. Pettaway and the late Albert Lee Pettaway.
He was educated in the Vance County school system and was a former employee of Harriet and Henderson Yarns, where he worked for 20 years.
He was a member of Oak Level United Church of Christ, where the funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday by the Rev. Leon White. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Carolyn E. Pettaway; one son, Darol O’Keith Eaton of Henderson; two daughters, Takisha Pettaway-Durham and Shavonya Pettaway, both of Henderson; four grandchildren; two sisters, Bobby Jean Evans of Knoxville, Tenn., and Izora Gooding of Henderson; and two brothers, Albert Pettaway Jr. of Manson and William Pettaway of Newport News, Va.
The family will receive friends at the home.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Pettaway, Marcus Russell, Ray Wimbush, James Small, Randy Hargrove and Anthony White. Honorary pallbearers will be James Pettaway, Joseph Jordan, John Earl Hargrove, George Henderson, Michael Pettaway, Joseph Hargrove and Otha Wimbush.
Arrangements are by Garnes Funeral Services.

Collie Roberts

KITTRELL -- Collie Roberts, 79, of 3701 Eaton Road died Monday, Feb. 19, 2001, at Granville Medical Center. He was the son of the late Sidney Roberts Sr. and Ida Daye Roberts.
He was a member of the Tally Ho Baptist Church, where he served as an usher.
Surviving are five sons, Ollie Roberts of the home, Samuel Roberts, Charles E. Roberts and Randolph Roberts, all of Kittrell, and Donald Roberts of Oxford; one sister, Corrine Rodriques of Long Island, N.Y.; two brothers, Colonel Roberts and Howard Roberts, both of Oxford; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Tally Ho Baptist Church by the Rev. Moses Fletcher. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 7 to 8 tonight at Betts & Son Funeral Home in Oxford.
Arrangements are by Betts & Son Funeral Home.

Bernice Wright

HENDERSON -- Bernice “Nechie” Wright, 71, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2001, at Vance Manor in Henderson. She was a Vance County native and the daughter of the late Jackson Wright and Leola Durham Wright Tuck.
She was educated in Vance County schools. At an early age, she joined the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Middleburg and attended faithfully until her health failed.
She worked at the Holiday Inn for more than 20 years.
Surviving are three sisters, Geneva Gibson of Middleburg and Emma Wright Hargrove and Camilla Davis, both of Henderson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Big Ruin Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Henry J. Johen, assisted by the Revs. Mary Emma Evans and Clarence Dale, Dr. Clyde B. Walton and Minister Emmitt Jefferson. Interment will follow in the Middleburg cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home of Geneva Gibson on U.S. 1/158 in Middleburg.
The body will be viewed Friday at E.C. Terry’s Funeral Service from noon until it is taken to the church Saturday.
Pallbearers will be nephews and great-nephews. Floral bearers will be nieces and great-nieces.
Arrangements are by E.C. Terry’s Funeral Service.

Emma Baskett

WARRENTON -- Emma Baskett, 68, of Cinaminson, N.J., formerly of Warrenton, died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001, at Jenesis Elder Care in Cinaminson.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon Saturday at Cooks Chapel Baptist Church in Warren Plains. The Rev. Robert Burnette will officiate. Burial will follow in the King-Burchette family cemetery in Warrenton.
The body will be on view today at Boyd’s Funeral Services Chapel in Warrenton until being taken to the church one hour before the services.
Arrangements are by Boyd’s Funeral Services of Warrenton.

Jack E. Booth Sr.

OXFORD -- Jack E. Booth Sr., 68, of 4576 Hight Road died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001, at Duke Medical Center. He was a native of Morgan County, Ga., and the son of the late Ernest Paul Booth and Rosa Dickerson Booth Wilkerson.
He was of the Methodist faith and was a retired long-distance truck driver for Sherman and Body Inc.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Eakes Funeral Chapel in Oxford by the Rev. Carolyn Sims. Burial will be in Meadowview Memorial Park.
Surviving are his wife, Rebecca “Becky” Dement Booth; a daughter, Penney Booth Christian of Buckhead, Ga.; two sons, Jack E. Booth Jr. of Oxford and Paul G. Booth of Cary; two brothers, E. Thomas Booth of Lexington, S.C., and Walter L. Booth of Mebane; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford and other times at the home.
Arrangements are by Eakes Funeral Home of Oxford.

Cora P. Breedlove

FRANKLINTON -- Cora Patterson Breedlove, 81, of 205 W. Mason St. died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001, at Wake Medical Center. She was a native of Franklin County, the daughter of the late Cora May and Robert L. Patterson, and the widow of Calvin Breedlove.
She was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sandling Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. John Pouchet. Burial will follow in Fairview cemetery.
Surviving are her stepdaughter, Frances May of Oxford; four sisters, Mary Lee Pitts of Franklinton, Fannie Hayes of Centerville, Hazel Timberlake of Youngsville and Tempie Watkins of Mechanics-ville, Va.; one stepgrandson; and one step-great-grandson.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Sandling Funeral Home.
Arrangements are by Sandling Funeral Home.

Ludie Green

CREEDMOOR -- Ludie Green, 86, of 2165 Brassfield Road died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001, at Durham Regional Hospital.
Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Home of Oxford.

Dexter Gregory

STOVALL -- Dexter Gregory, 46, of 7622 Reavis Road died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2001, at Duke Medical Center.
He was an employee of J&M Manufacturing in Butner. He was a member of Michael Creek Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Michael Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Dan Terry. Burial will be in Meadowview Memorial Park.
Surviving are his wife, Mary E. Gregory; two daughters, Tracee D. Gregory of Durham and Cheryl Hart of Oxford; his mother, Queenie N. Nelson of Stovall; one brother, James “Rick” Nelson of Stovall; and one sister, Regina Byrd of Stovall.
The family will receive visitors at the residence. The body will lie in state from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Wright Funeral Home in Oxford.
