John `Jack' McGlynn
WARREN, Minn. -- John ``Jack" McGlynn, 81, Warren, died Sunday, April 27, 1997, at North Valley Health Center, Warren.
John Thomas McGlynn was born April 19, 1916, the son of James and Lizzie (Cormican) McGlynn, in Parker Township, Marshall County, Minn., where he attended school. He joined the U.S. Army in 1942. He married Lorraine Wittman Jan. 22, 1946, in Warren. They lived and farmed in the Warren area. Lorraine McGlynn died Sept. 6, 1982. He married Darline Schantzen April 2, 1984. In 1986, they moved into Warren.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Robert (Jane), Helena, Mont., and Kendall (Kathy), Warren; a stepson, Dr. Jay (Janet) Schantzen; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth ``Sam," Casselton, N.D.; and sisters, Stella Novak, Warren, and Lorli ``Les" Slaughter, Thayer, Mo.
He was preceded in death by a grandson; and a sister, Mildred Parr.
Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday in Zion Lutheran Church, Warren.
Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. and 6:30 to 8 p.m. today in Quanrud-DuBore Funeral Home, Warren, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Greenwood Cemetery, Warren.
George `Frenchy' Pariseau
George ``Frenchy" Pariseau, 75, East Grand Forks, died April 22, 1997, in Fargo.
George Pariseau worked for Whitey's, East Grand Forks, for 25 years.
He is survived by sons, Greg, San Antonio, Danny, Fort Worth, Texas, and Michael, Grand Forks; daughters, Nancy Pariseau Swanberg, Seattle, and Mary Pariseau Wyne, Fargo; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sally Irvin, Acton, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Blackmore Pariseau.

Norris Amb
DEVILS LAKE -- Noris Amb, 69, Devils Lake, died Saturday, April 26, 1997, in Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake.
Norris Wayne Amb was born June 22, 1927, the son of John and Mabel (Bjerke) Amb, in Page, N.D. He attended school in Mayville, N.D., and graduated from Devils Lake Central High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He returned to Devils Lake, where he owned and operated the Lake Region Auction Market. He retired in 1988. He married R. Margaret ``Muggs" Lien Aug. 15, 1963, in Park River, N.D. R. Margaret Lien died Dec. 24, 1990.
He is survived by daughters, Nancy Ann Amb, Philadelphia, and Susan Jean (Joseph M.) Bachmeier, Clearwater, Fla.; and brothers, John Jr., Hillsboro, Ore., Dennis, Lansing, Ill., and Richard, Newport, N.C.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Mildred and Joyce.
Services: Were Monday in Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake.
Burial: Devils Lake Cemetery.
Beverly Clairmont
WALHALLA, N.D. -- Beverly Clairmont, 65, Walhalla, died April 21, 1997, at home.
Beverly Jean Ireland was born Oct. 21, 1931, the daughter of Robert and Alice (McMartin) Ireland, in rural Walhalla, where she attended rural school. In 1945, she moved with her family into Walhalla. She graduated from Walhalla High School in 1949 and attended Aaker's Business College, Grand Forks. She worked as a parts department clerk for Lischefske Implement, Walhalla, before working for Walhalla State Bank as a cashier. She married Donald E. Clairmont Oct. 8, 1951, in Olga, N.D. They made their home in the Poplar Grove area, southwest of Walhalla, where they farmed. They retired in 1990 and moved into Walhalla.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Spencer (Beverly), Walhalla; daughters, Jill (Mark) Nelson, Fessenden, N.D., Jodi (Mike) Bresnahan, Bloomington, Minn., and Margo (Paul) Ames, Fargo; 10 grandchildren; and sisters, Phyllis Campbell, Walhalla, and Eileen Randall, Evota, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services: Were in Walhalla.
Burial: St. Boniface Cemetery, Walhalla (Nelson, Walhalla).
Justin Thomas Johnson
Justin Thomas Johnson, infant son of Tom and Shelley Johnson, Grand Forks, was born and died April 23, 1997. A graveside service will be held at a later date (Wildeman, Hillsboro, N.D.).

Mary Ann Porter, 62, Grafton, N.D., died Thursday, April 24, 1997, in Fairview Southdale Hospital, Edina, Minn. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 1997, in Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Grafton. Visitation will be there one hour before services (Tollefston, Grafton).

Harvey Underdahl, 66, Newfolden, Minn., died Saturday, April 26, 1997, at Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Westaker Free Lutheran Church, Newfolden. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, and one hour before services in Green Funeral Home, Thief River Falls.

Ben `Dick' Bird
HILLSBORO, N.D. -- Ben J. ``Dick" Bird, 85, Hillsboro, died Wednesday, April 23, 1997, in Hillsboro Medical Center.
Ben Bird was born June 3, 1911, in Kelso Township, Traill County, N.D., where he farmed until retiring in 1971. He married Dagney Swenddal Oct. 18, 1943, in Minneapolis. They farmed in the Kelso area until retiring in 1971. They moved to Hillsboro in 1991. He was past director of the Traill County Soil and Water Conservation District, Federal Land Bank and Kelso Farmers Union Oil Co.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Robert (Jeannie), Woodbury, Minn., and Gary, Highlands Ranch, Colo.; and sister, Pearl Hansen, Hillsboro.
Services: Were Saturday in United Parish, Hillsboro.
Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Hillsboro (Wildeman, Hillsboro).
