Olga Alice Clara Torgerson, 87, Grand Forks, died Sunday in Oakes (N.D.) Hospital, after being evacuated from Grand Forks. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Norman Funeral Home, Columbia Road.

Raymond Brommenschenkel
McINTOSH, Minn. -- Raymond Brommenschenkel, 88, McIntosh, formerly of Ada, Minn., died Friday, May 9, 1997, in McIntosh Manor, where he had lived since April 1997.
Raymond C. Brommenschenkel was born Dec. 19, 1908, the son of Peter and Mary (Holschlag) Brommenschenkel, in Hampton, Iowa. In 1912, he moved with his family to Ada, where he attended school. He worked with his parents on the farm. On May 26, 1942, he joined the U.S. Army to serve in World War II. On Oct. 29, 1943, he returned to Ada. He farmed near there until moving to Bridges-Wimmer Nursing Home, Ada, in April 1993.
He is survived by brothers, Francis, Hendrum, Minn., and Orval and Maurice, both of Ada.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Bertil and Paul; and sisters, Clara Kappes and Leona Arends.
Services: 10 a.m. today in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ada.
Burial: Ada Municipal Cemetery (Fredrikson, Ada).
Nicholas `Nick' VonRuden
Nicholas ``Nick" VonRuden, 94, Grand Forks, died Wednesday, May 7, 1997, in Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls, after being evacuated from Good Samaritan Nursing Center, East Grand Forks.
Nicholas VonRuden was born Feb. 9, 1903, the son of John and Margaret (Gorman) VonRuden, in Reynolds, N.D., where he attended school. He married Catherine Placek Brunett June 30, 1949, in Terre Haute, Ind. They farmed in Reynolds until retiring in 1960. They moved to Grand Forks in 1978. Catherine VonRuden died Dec. 12, 1996.
He is survived by daughters, Teresa Gust, East Grand Forks, and Marcella (James) Mesnard, Lucerne Valley, Calif.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by seven brothers, and two sisters.
Services: 11 a.m. today in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Reynolds.
Burial: Resurrection Cemetery, East Grand Forks (Norman, Columbia Road, Grand Forks).
Leander `Lee' Charboneau
CHAMPLIN, Minn. -- Leander ``Lee" Charboneau, 81, Champlin, died Friday, May 9, 1997, in Hennepin County Medical Center, Minneapolis.
Leander Charboneau was born Dec. 29, 1915, the son of Israel Sharbono and Elizabeth Knickerbocker, in Mahnomen, Minn., where he attended school. He married Louise LaDoux Feb. 6, 1940, in Mahnomen. They made their home in Portland, Ore., during World War II. He worked in the shipyards until returning to St. Paul in 1943. He received a machinist degree and was foreman and heavy-equipment operator for SJ Groves and McCree & Co. He had been living with his daughter Susanetta in Champlin for the last two years. Louise Charboneau died in 1990.
He is survived by sons, Thomas (Dianna), Brooklyn Center, Minn., and Daniel (Barb), Brooklyn Park, Minn.; daughters, Theresa Burtson, Minneapolis, Mary (Wayne) Holtman, Lakeville, Minn., Susanetta Rasinski, Champlin, Nancy (Tim) Grams, Columbia Heights, Minn., and Bonnie Graham, Brooklyn Park; 21 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Leonard Sharbono, Mahnomen, and Buddy Charboneau, Minneapolis; and sisters, Eva Brtek, Mahnomen, and Mildred Stafford, Phoenix.
He was preceded in death by sons, Robert and Benedict; two grandchildren; two brothers; and two sisters.
Services: 2 p.m. today in St. Michael's Catholic Church, Mahnomen.
Visitation: 9 a.m. until the time of services in Mattson Funeral Home, Mahnomen.
Burial: St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Waubun, Minn.
Louise Magnus
PETERSBURG, N.D. -- Louise Magnus, 91, Petersburg, died Sunday, May 11, 1997, in Lakota (N.D.) Good Samaritan Center, Lakota.
Louise Hared was born June 14, 1905, the daughter of Louis and Anna (Halvorson) Hared, in Michigan, N.D. She moved with her parents to Petersburg in 1914 and attended school there. She graduated from Petersburg High School. She married Arthur Magnus Oct. 8, 1927, in Petersburg. They operated the Meat Market in Petersburg for 34 years until retiring in 1961. Arthur Magnus died Sept. 12, 1972. She continued to live in Petersburg until moving to the Lakota Good Samaritan Center in December 1996.
She is survived by sisters, Laura Sylvester, Lakota, and Mary Locker, Milwaukee.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mabel Jackson; and brothers, Anthony and Adolph.
Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday in Petersburg Lutheran Church.
Visitation: 1 to 9 p.m. today in Aaker Funeral Home, Lakota and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Petersburg Cemetery.
Laura Busse
FOSSTON, Minn. -- Laura Busse, 77, Fosston, died Sunday, May 11, 1997, in Dakota Heartland Hospital, Fargo.
Laura Beatrice Roggenbuck was born March 2, 1920, the daughter of John and Hilda (Carlson) Roggenbuck, in Roosevelt, Minn. She attended school in Badger, Minn. She married Maurice Busse Oct. 12, 1940, in Cass Lake, Minn. They farmed in Heier Township, Mahnomen County, Minn. She worked as a cook in the Fosston (Minn.) Hospital.
She is survived by her husband; daughters, Sandy (Gary) Emerson, Angels Camp, Calif., Barbara (Dennis) Feitag, New Ulm, Minn., and Karen Pearson, Bismarck; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brothers, Roy, Badger, and John, Embarrass, Minn.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Gene; and a sister, Geneva Johnson.
Services: 11 a.m. today in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Fosston.
Burial: St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery (Carlin-Hoialmen, Fosston).
