Lucy Dunn
Lucy Dunn, 91, LaMoure, ND, died November 3, 2004 in LaMoure.
Her funeral service was held Saturday, November 6 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, LaMoure. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Lucy is survived by three sons – William, LaMoure; Edward, Fargo and Ambrose, Edgeley and four daughters – Therisa Hauser, Hebron, Mary Kusekoski, Aberdeen, SD, Lucy Stroh, Grand Rapids and Tillie Heupel, Colorado Springs, CO.
She also leaves 22 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Other survivors include a brother, Frank Feist, Edgeley and one sister, Ida Weigel, Edgeley.

Ron Wanner
Ronald Wanner, 49, rural Golden Valley, died Monday, December 20, 2004 from injuries sustained in an auto mishap on his ranch south of Golden Valley.
His Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00 Thursday, December 23, 2004 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Hebron with Father Sebastian Schmidt OSB as Celebrant.
Burial was on Cemetery Hill on the Knife River Ranch.
Ron was born May 18, 1955 at Richardton, ND, a son of John and Mary Ann (Malling) Wanner.
He was raised on the family farm and attended the Hebron School where he graduated in 1973.
He attended North Dakota State University, Fargo and earned a bachelors degree in mechanized agriculture with minors in Ag Economy, Agronomy, and animal science.
He married Lois Rixen June 25, 1977 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Richardton.
Following their marriage they farmed with his parents until 1987 when they moved to the Knife River Ranch south of Golden Valley.
Ron poured his heart and soul into the farm and ranch way of life.
He diversified his ranch in 1996 by creating Knife River Ranch Vacation. This venture allowed others to enjoy the ranch way of life and a place to relax.
Ron believed in the team work approach to the operations at the ranch, keeping the entire family working together.
He was active in many organizations including the North Dakota Stockmen’s Association, South Shore Sakakawea and was a volunteer hunter education instructor for 20 years.
He was a member of the West River Tourism Council, Golden Valley Fire Department, an advisor to the North Dakota Department of Transportation, Hebron Wildlife and Gun Club and was a director of the North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame.
Ron died tragically Monday, December 20, 2004 on the ranch he loved so much.
Preceding him in death were his parents, John and Mary Ann Wanner.
He leaves to mourn his wife Lois, his children Rebecca, Mandan, ND and Adam and Justin, on the ranch.
He also leaves his brothers - Richard, San Francisco, CA; Jim (Jean), Hebron, ND; John, Montrose, CO and Archie (Anne Marie), Hebron, ND and his sisters JoAnn (Will) Prom, White Bear Lake, MN; Jean Marie (Denis) Duppong, Cedar Rapids, IA and Mary Ann (Kenny) Duppong, Glen Ullin, ND.
Spangelo Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy Schneeweiss
Dorothy Schneeweiss, 58, Hebron, died Monday, December 20, 2004 at St. Joseph Hospital in Dickinson, ND.
Her funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 26, 2004 at the Spangelo Funeral Home in Hebron with Father Sebastian Schmidt OSB as officiating.
Burial was in St. Ann’s Cemetery in Hebron.
Dorothy was born August 7, 1947 near Hebron, ND, the daughter of Albert and Eleanor (Hartmann) Vastag. She was raised and educated at Hebron.
She moved to Grand Fork, ND where she completed her education and began working.
She married Kenneth Schneeweiss August 4, 1970 at Grand Forks, ND. Following their marriage they lived in Michigan until they moved to Hebron in 1986. While in Michigan she was involved in the Chapter 44 of the Disabled American Veterans, was Jr. Vice Commander, a hospital volunteer, was a lifetime member of the DAV, American Legion Auxiliary and the NDAD.
Dorothy died suddenly December 20, 2004 while in Dickinson ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth, of Hebron, ND, and siblings - Harold (Bonnie) Vastag, Oneida, WI, Raymond (Flo) Vastag, Indianapolis, IN; Ruth (Gus) Sailer, Beulah; Duane (Marlene) Vastag, Mandan; Roger Vastag, Indianapolis, IN; Darlene Murphy, Phoenix, AZ; Karen (Gordon) Gunsch, Lander, WY, John (Char) Vastag, Fargo and Betty (Rick) Marthaller, Oakes, N.D.
Spangelo Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Walter Pearson
Walter Pearson, 80, Glen Ullin, died Monday, December 13, 2004 at a Bismarck Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. CT Thursday, December 16, 2003 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glen Ullin with the Rev. Sebastian Schmidt, OSB, officiating.
Burial will be held in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Glen Ullin, ND.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Spangelo Funeral Home in Glen Ullin where prayer services will be held at 5:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Thursday for one hour prior to services at the church.
Walter was born July 27, 1924 at Lake Bronson, MN, the son of Oscar and Anna (Gudmenson) Pearson. He was raised and educated at Lake Bronson.
He entered the US Navy on October 19, 1945 and served on bases in Idaho and Nevada. He was discharged July 20, 1946.
Following discharge he worked construction in building I-94. It is here where he met Lena Schneider, a widow from Glen Ullin. They were married September 25, 1964 in Brush, CO.
He continued to work construction in the Midwest until their second child was born, and they settled in Glen Ullin.
He worked as a mechanic for Liebelt’s in Beulah until his retirement.
Walter liked to tinker with things and could fix or repair just about anything. He enjoyed hunting and fishing until he was no longer able to.
Walter died Monday, December 13, 2004, at Medcenter One in Bismarck. He is survived by his wife, Lena, Glen Ullin; two daughters: Linda (Terry) Wagner, Glen Ullin and Cindy (Stacy) Landwer of Gilbert, MN and a step daughter, Gloriann (Gary) Horst, Sheridan, WY.
He also leaves four grandchildren - Melissa and Ryan Wagner and Maggie Jo and McKendrick Landwer and three step grandchildren - Karie Ann Greene, Michelle Andrews, and Nicole Stutte and one step-great grandchild - Brandon Andrews.
Walter also has one brother Wallace and a sister Mary Ann Campbell, both of Fergus Falls, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Archie and Willard and two sisters, Mabel and Virginia.
Spangelo Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

William Peltz
William "Bill" Peltz, 83, Glen Ullin, ND died Sunday, February 6, 2005 at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. CT Wednesday, February 9 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glen Ullin with the Rev. Chris Walstad, officiating.
Burial will be held in the Glen Ullin Cemetery.
Visitation was at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at Bethel Assembly of God Church with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. CT.
Visitation also continued Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the church.
William was born on the family farm in Oliver County June 9, 1921, a son of Robert and Rosa (Stauss) Peltz, Sr.
He was raised on the farm and educated in a country school a mile and a half from his home.
He married Emma Rueb October 3, 1946 in Wishek, ND. Following their marriage they moved to a farm near his family farm.
Bill enjoyed farming, working with cattle and especially his John Deere tractors.
Bill and Emma retired from farming due to declining health in 1984 but continued to live on the farm until 1990 when they moved to Glen Ullin.
Bill was a faithful member of Bethel Assembly of God Church where he held various offices. He led Bible study at the Marian Manor for a number of years, served as treasurer of Harmony Acres Senior Citizens, delivered food through the Meals on Wheels program, was a member of RSVP and was a member of the German and English singing group. That group sang every Monday at the Marian Manor.
Bill’s life of faith became sight Sunday, February 6, 2005, while a patient at St. Alexius in Bismarck.
He leaves to mourn his wife Emma, Glen Ullin.
He also leaves two sons - Timothy (Jeanne) of Bath, MI and Steven (Cheryl), Broomfield, CO.
He also leaves two grandchildren - Justin (Scarlett) Peltz and Jordan Peltz and a great-grandchild, Aydan Peltz.
Other survivors include two brothers – Robert, Lodi, CA and Leo, Palm Harbor, FL and two sisters Hertha Mindt, Sacramento, CA and Mildren Meroney, Columbus, MT.
He also leaves several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Erna Johnson and two brothers Art and Richard.
Spangelo Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
