Michael James Woodworth, 65, of St. Paul, Nebraska died July 7, 2006 at the Howard County Community Hospital in St. Paul. Mike’s wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the family.

Dorothy Reynolds Yon
Dorothy Reynolds Yon, 92, Stillwater, MN, died June 22, 2006. Burial was at Forest River Cemetery, Forest River, ND.

Clayton D. Groth
Clayton D. Groth passed away July 3, 2006 in St. Louis, MO. Funeral services were held on July 7th at St. Dominic Savio Catholic Church in St. Louis. Interment was in Resurrection Cemetery.

Kenneth F. Menge
Moorhead, MN

Kenneth Menge, 72, 1108 N. 8th St., Moorhead, MN, died Friday, November 10, 2006, at home.

Ken was born on January 10, 1933 to Fred and Addie (Zillmer) Menge on a farm in Highland Township, where he grew up and graduated from Sheldon High School, in 1952. He spent ten years in the service; 1950-1952 naval reserves, 1954 to 1960 in The United States Navy. He married Margaret Gabriel on September 15, 1959, in Boston, MA, Margaret died April 6, 1992. They moved to Fargo, ND, in 1963. He worked in the Fargo area until his retirement in 1996.

He is survived by three sons, Micheal (Deby) Menge, Spartanburg, SC, Kevin Menge, Rochester, MN, and Terry Menge, Moorhead, MN; two daughters, Carol (Gary) Wambach, Georgetown, MN, and Tracy Menge, Eskasoni, Nova Scotia; one brother, Roland (Denice) Menge, Enderlin, ND; six grandchildren, Cody, Shahane, Colton, Curtis, Bree, Shea; two nephews; and one niece.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Margaret; his parents, Fred and Addie Menge; and one sister, Marlys.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at Peace Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Interment was at Enderlin Cemetery, Enderlin, ND.

Jerome H. Wadeson

Enderlin, ND

Jerome Herbert Wadeson, 85, of Fargo, ND, formerly Enderlin and Nome, ND, died Thursday, February 8 at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo.

Jerome was born on July 28, 1921 to Mary (Grommesh) and William “Booster” Wadeson near Alice, ND, where he grew up and attended school through the 8th grade. He married Marion Johnson of Lucca, ND on May 20, 1942.

Jerome was a hard worker and even in childhood he helped to earn money for family expenses. Farming was not always easy, working with horses or a small tractor and a 2-bottom plow. In the early years they lived near Alice, Enderlin, Hunter, and Lucca, and later made their home near Nome where they raised their family. They farmed that land for 42 years and rented additional acres near Alice. Besides small grains, they raised hogs, cattle, and chickens and always had a large garden. Jerome enjoyed raising and harvesting crops and even after retiring and moving into Enderlin in 1989 he continued with gardening and hobby farming. He moved to Bethany Homes in Fargo in 2005.

Jerome had a great love for animals of all kinds and especially enjoyed working with horses, when he didn’t need them for farming anymore he used them in parades. He reconstructed a wagon from the family farm and entered in it parades for several years. Jerome never lost his love for those horses, show harnesses, and wagon. In later years he was proud to display his handmade replicas of wagons with teams of model horses.

He had numerous other interests including hunting, fishing, and car races. He was a member of the Valley City Eagles for many years where he and Marion enjoyed attending dances.

Jerome is survived by his wife Marion of Fargo; one daughter, Dianne (Christian) Johnson, of Casselton; and two sons, Dennis (Elaine) Wadeson of Nome and Duane (Carol) Wadeson of Leonard; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren; two brothers, Don (Bernice) of Fargo and Richard (Jacqueline) of Alice; two sisters, Joyce Hetland and Beverly (Basil) Lovel of Minneapolis; and one sister-in-law, Marie of West Fargo. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Desmond, and his brother-in-law Chester Hetland.

Pallbearers were Jerome’s grandchildren: Tammy Jordheim of Walcott, Jerome Johnson and Chad Johnson of Fargo, Michael Wadeson of Valley City and Brian Wadeson of Bismarck and Nick Fields of Rochester, MN.

The funeral was held on Tuesday, February 13, at Armstrong Funeral Home in Enderlin with Pastor Leon Zavadil officiating and burial was at the Alice Community Cemetery near Alice, ND.

Orval L. Speich

Lisbon, ND

Orval L. Speich, 87, of Lisbon, ND, died on February 7, 2007 at the Lisbon Area Health Services in Lisbon. Services were held on February 12, 2007 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Lisbon with Rev. Kirk Douglas officiating. Louise Kunze was organist and Patty Ellefson soloist. Burial was at Lakeside Cemetery at Milnor, ND. Pallbearers were Shelly and Fred Ganssle, Peggy and Mark Peterman, Tim Claus and Louise Anderson, Jerry Claus, Marcy Coit. Honorary pallbearers were Rebecca Moldenhauer, Debra and Curtis Tufty, Karen and Tim Haugen, Jerry Olson, Susan Olson and Bill Olson.

Orval was born on April 3, 1919 in rural Milnor, ND, the son of Edwin and Edith Carlson Speich. He attended the Milnor School. He married Elinor Olson on November 28, 1947 in Milnor. She died October 14, 1978. He married Jeanne Schultz Claus on September 25, 1982 in Lisbon.

Orval farmed near Milnor from 1934-1982. He sold Pioneer Seed from 1968 to 1992. He moved to Lisbon after his marriage to Jeanne. Orval served on the Milnor Creamery Board, District 40 of Land O’Lakes for 19 years. He was township supervisor for Willey and Hall Townships. He served on Milnor Lutheran Church council, taught Sunday School and served on various committees. He served as an elder and on various committees at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Lisbon.

Orval is survived by his wife Jeanne, Lisbon, ND; three sons, Gary (Jane), West Fargo, ND, Bruce (Dayna), Milnor, ND, Craig (Wanda), Milnor, ND; a daughter, Cheryl (Kim) Foell, Valley City, ND; two step-sons, Jerry Claus of Enderlin, ND and Tim Claus (Louise Anderson), Bloomington, MN; three stepdaughter's, Peggy (Mark) Peterman, Horace, ND, Marcy Coit, Aitkin, MN, and Shelly (Fred) Ganssle, St. Thomas, ND; 26 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence.

Marion L. Lindemann Enderlin, ND

Marion L. Lindemann, 56,

Enderlin, ND, died on April 4, 2007 at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo. The funeral was held on Saturday, April 7 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Enderlin with Rev. Jerry Carlson officiating. Gretchen Hoy was organist and Eric and Jill Bergstedt provided special music.

The funeral service for Lorraine Sad, 79, Dazey, ND will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Dazey. Rev. Ellen Arthur will officiate and burial will be at Dazey Cemetery later in the spring. She died Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at Maryhill Manor in Enderlin, ND, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Alice Caroline Kron Enderlin, ND

Alice Caroline Brewer Kron, 72, of Enderlin, ND, died Friday morning, June 29, 2007 at Maryhill Manor in Enderlin. The funeral service was held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Enderlin at 2pm on Tuesday, July 3rd.

Charlotte Zittelman

Valley City, ND

The funeral service for Charlotte Zittelman, 85, Valley City, North Dakota, will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Fingal. Rev. Bradley Edin will officiate and burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Fingal. She died Saturday, June 30, 2007 at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Robert Offermann

Sheldon, ND

Robert (Bob) Theodore Offermann was born July 2nd, 1932 to Pierre and Josephine (Delagardelle) Offermann at the family farm near Sheldon, ND in Highland Township. Bob attended Highland #47 Country School and was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sheldon. In 1943 Bob’s parents moved to Enderlin so Bob and his siblings could attend school there. The family continued to spend summers and most weekends at the family farm.

R. Bruce Johnson Fargo, ND, formerly Enderlin, ND

R. Bruce Johnson, 75, died on April 7, 2009 at HiAcres Manor Nursing Center in Jamestown, ND. A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 11 at the United Methodist Church of Enderlin with Rev. John Anderson officiating. Verna Armstrong was the organist and Jack Armstrong soloist. Burial will be at the Enderlin Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bob Twete, Bill Stolberg, Vern Smith, Marlan Alberts, Wayne Alberts, and Matt Twete.

Charles R. Fritz Sr.

Our dad, Charles R. Fritz Sr., passed away quietly with his family around him Friday, April 3, 2009. He was known to most as “Fritz” or “Unc” to his North Dakota relatives, and “PaPa” to his grandkids and immediate family.

Elizabeth “Betty” Steidl formerly of Fingal, ND

Elizabeth Steidl, age 91, formerly of Fingal, ND died September 18, 2009 at Maryhill Manor, Enderlin, ND. A funeral mass was celebrated on Tuesday, September 22nd at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fingal, ND. Interment will be in Old Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery.

Raymond R. Plutschouw

Raymond R. Plutschouw, 84, Enderlin, ND, died on September 19, 2009 at Maryhill Manor in Enderlin. A funeral service was held on September 21, 2009 at Armstrong Funeral Home in Enderlin with Rev. Frank Dobos officiating. Verna Armstrong was organist and Harpist was Luba Dobos. Burial was at the Enderlin Cemetery.

Bertha K. Berger Maplewood, MN

Bertha K. Berger, 99, Maplewood, MN died on November 26, 2009 at Maplewood. The funeral service was held on December 1 at Standing Rock Lutheran Church in Fort Ransom, ND, with Rev. David Carlson officiating. Mary Johnson was the organist and Jack Armstrong soloist.

Charles A. Berg, 71, formerly of Nome, ND, died on Friday, November 27, 2009, at GlenOaks Care Center in New London, MN. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Marion Mae Wadeson

Enderlin, ND formerly of Nome, ND

Marion Mae Wadeson, 89, Enderlin ND, formerly of Nome ND, entered into eternal rest on April 23, 2010, at Maryhill Manor in Enderlin.

Marion was born on August 25, 1920, to Axel and Martha (Hansen) Johnson, rural Lucca, ND. There she grew up and graduated from high school.

Monsignor John David Anderson of Wahpeton, ND peacefully entered eternal life on Good Shepard Sunday, April 25, 2010.

Funeral mass will be Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Philip’s Catholic Church, Hankinson, ND with Most Rev. Samuel J. Aquila, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese, Fargo. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Hankinson, ND. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 28, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., all at St. Philip’s Church.
