Timothy Aune
Timothy Allen Aune, 35, Bismarck, died April 6, 1997, in his home. A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday at Bismarck Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place.

Timothy was born July 13, 1962, in Mandan, to Robert and Barbara ``Bobbie" Aune. He attended Mandan schools and graduated from Bismarck State College in auto body repair in 1982. Tim had been working with auto body repair since graduation, and at the time of his death, he was employed at Pro One Auto in Mandan.

Timothy is survived by his parents, Robert and Barbara, Mandan; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Tammy and Mark Petesch, Bismarck, Tracey Lowther and her friend, Mike Witte, Bloomington, Minn., and Michael Lowther, Prior Lake, Minn.; and various aunts and uncles.

Kenneth Hedman
SCRANTON -- Kenneth Wilmer Hedman, 84, Scranton, died April 4, 1997, in Santa Clarita, Calif. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. MDT Wednesday at Peace Lutheran Church, Scranton, with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Fran; two daughters, Faye White, Santa Clarita, and Kaye Olson, Bismarck; and two sons, Aldon, Naperville, Ill., and Calvin, Santa Clarita.

TURTLE LAKE -- Ericka Gondringer, 90, Parshall, formerly of Turtle Lake, died April 5, 1997, in the Parshall nursing home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Katherine's Catholic Church, Turtle Lake. Further arrangements are pending at Goetz Funeral Home, Turtle Lake.

She is survived by two sons, Roger, Westminster, Calif., and Larry, Bermuda Dunes, Calif.; two daughters, Adeline Bogner, New England, and Claudia Bosch, Dickinson; and two sisters, Philipena Messmer, Mott, and Julia Wolf, Renton, Wash. (Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson)

Margie Bail
MORRISTOWN, S.D. -- Margie M. Bail, 53, Morristown, died April 4, 1997, in the Lemmon hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Lutheran Church, Lemmon, with burial in McIntosh Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Orville; one son, Brandon, Morristown; one daughter, Barbara Bail, Fargo; her mother, Mary Johnson, Napoleon; two brothers, James and Robert Johnson, both of Bismarck; and three sisters, Ginger Bendickson, Thief River Falls, Minn., Charlette Abbas, Renville, Minn., and Brenda Eichele, Driscoll. Lydia Hanson
CARRINGTON -- Lydia Hanson, 85, Carrington, died April 2, 1997, in the Carrington nursing home. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Trinity Lutheran Church, Carrington, with the Revs. Peter and Karla Coen-Tuft officiating. Special music will be by James Semmens, with Clara Edwardson, organist. Burial will be in Carrington Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dale Townsend, Gerald Berglun, Olaf Ringerud, Walter Nystuen, Orvel Baldwin and Merle Bauer.

Lydia Ione Wahl Hanson was born May 9, 1911, at Martin, the eldest daughter of Andrew and Pauline (Grabofsky) Pepple. The family moved to Denhoff, where she was raised and attended school. She graduated from Denhoff High School and received a teaching certificate from Valley City Teachers College. On March 4, 1933, she was united in marriage to Emil C. Wahl. She taught school in Goodrich and held other jobs during the early years of her first marriage. In the mid 1940s she began working in the McClusky Post Office and worked there for nearly 30 years. She became the postmaster during the last three years of her career. Mr. Wahl died March 17, 1960.

On June 1, 1969, she was united in marriage to Norman Hanson at McClusky. Since 1974 she has made her home at Carrington. Lydia had many interests and was involved in a number of organizations. She held state and national offices in several of those organizations. Among her interests were Sheridan County Chapter of American Red Cross, state president of the American Legion Auxiliary, North Dakota Federation of Music Club, Order of the Eastern Star, Tri-County Retired Teachers Association, Foster County Centennial Committee, Elks Auxiliary, Carrington Hospital and Home Auxiliary and Heart and Muscular Dystrophy Association.

She is survived by her loving husband, Norman H.; one son, Dr. Dewey Wahl, Dallas; one daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Dr. Robert Sigsby, The Woodlands, Texas; two stepdaughters and stepsons-in-law, Bonnie and Willie Heinrich, Bismarck, and Beverly and Jerry Franzen, Oregon City, Ore.; three grandchildren, Dr. Linda Harris and her husband, John, Bret Sigsby and his wife, Ruth, and Nicole Sigsby; one step-granddaughter, Elizabeth Miller; one great-granddaughter, Lauren Harris; one brother, Raymond Pepple, Steele; three sisters, Betty Lynch, Cheney, Wash., Alma Fuller, Spokane, Wash., and Ruth Kowalski, Chicago; three stepbrothers, Herbert Poppke, David Poppke and Walter Poppke; and five stepsisters, Martha Wentz, Pauline Purdy, Leone Dodge, Irene Carter and Esther Charlesbois.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Frederick and Andrew Pepple; two stepbrothers, John and Theodore Poppke; and her first husband, Emil C. Wahl. (Evans Funeral Home, Carrington)

Marian Schneider
GLEN ULLIN -- Marian Schneider, 65, Glen Ullin, died April 5, 1997, in Bismarck. Services will be held at 10-30 a.m. MDT Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Glen Ullin, with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Thursday at the church, where a wake service and rosary will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Marian was born Aug. 24, 1931, near Almont, to Adam and Elizabeth (Seeberger) Weinberger. She was raised and educated near Almont. She helped out around home until her marriage to Leonard Schneider, Sept. 5, 1950, at St. Joe. They moved to Bismarck, then on to Glendive, Mont., before moving to Jamestown. While in Jamestown she worked for Hedahls Inc. They moved to Bismarck for a short time, and then to Glen Ullin. She took the G.E.D. and enrolled at Dickinson State University where she graduated in 1985 with a bachelor of arts degree in social science, with a history minor. While in Dickinson, she did some social work. Following graduation she returned to Glen Ullin, where she has resided since.

She was a former member of Christian Mothers.

She is survived by her husband, Leonard; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Randolph, Dickinson, Rodney and Debra, Montpelier, Vt., and Jeffrey and Dawn, Dickinson; one daughter, Sandra Roberts, Nashville, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; four brothers, Nick, New Salem, William, Glen Ullin, John and Leo, both of Dickinson; and one sister, Minnie Gietzen, Wahpeton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; and one sister. (Spangelo Funeral Home, Hebron)

Larry Tomanek
Larry G. Tomanek, 50, Mandan, died April 7, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Richard Hagestuen officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan. There will be no visitation at the church.

Larry G. Tomanek was born Nov. 15, 1946, at Mandan, the son of Otto and Mary (Stastney) Tomanek. A lifelong resident of Mandan, he graduated from Mandan High School in 1964. His first job was with the Super Valu store in Mandan where he began work while still in high school. He served a six-year enlistment with the North Dakota National Guard. He married Sharon Bohl, Feb. 1, 1968, at Christ the King Church in Mandan. Larry then worked with his father as foreman for Tomanek Construction. When his father retired, he became the owner of the business. He was later employed as a security guard by the North Dakota State Penitentiary, and at the time of his death was the purchasing agent for Roughrider Industries.

A kind and caring individual, he often thought of the needs of others before his own. Although known as a hard worker, Larry also cherished the time he was able to spend with his family, whether it was attending the sporting events in which his sons participated or hunting and fishing with his family. He was also a very talented woodworker.

He is survived by many dear friends and family members, including his wife, Sharon; his two sons in whom he felt such pride and joy, Shawn and his fiance, Tanya Malkin, both of Bismarck, and Scott, Mandan; his father, Otto, Mandan; and his mother-in-law, Barbara Bohl, Mandan, with whom he shared a very special relationship.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary, who died Nov. 9, 1987.

Peter Smith
BELFIELD -- Peter N. Smith, 92, Belfield, died April 6, 1997, in a Bismarck nursing home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. MDT Friday at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Belfield. Further arrangements are pending at Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson.

Daniel Walz
Daniel F. Walz, 92, 2027 N. Kavaney Drive, died April 8, 1997, in his home. Arrangements are pending at Boelter Funeral Home.

Jack Reinhardt
BEULAH -- Jack A. Reinhardt, 81, Beulah, died April 7, 1997, in the Hazen hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. MDT Friday at Zion Lutheran Church, Beulah, with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Alta; three daughters, Milda Frei, Beulah, Delila Heinrich, Mandan, and Brenda Fitterer, Hudson, Wis.; one son, Dale, Beulah; three brothers, Roland, McGregor, Minn., Clarence, Coon Rapids, Minn., and Ivan, Hackensack, Minn.; and two sisters, Ida Ellwein, Minot, and Rufina Gamble, Minneapolis. Donavan Dralle
Donavan Dralle, 87, Bismarck, died April 8, 1997, in the Mandan nursing home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Perry Funeral Home, Mandan, with burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.

He is survived by one daughter, Diane Klein, Mandan; one son, Bruce, Moffit; one sister, Irene Carlson, Bismarck; and two brothers, Marshall, Sterling, and Bob, Albuquerque, N.M.

James Goodroad
JAMESTOWN -- James Goodroad, 60, Jamestown, died April 7, 1997, in Jamestown. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Concordia Lutheran Church, with burial in Highland Home Cemetery, both of Jamestown.

He is survived by his mother, Lydia Goodroad, Jamestown; and one sister, Phyllis Hoger, Lake Shore, Minn. (Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown)

Juanita Wagner
MERCER -- Juanita Wagner, 63, Mercer, died April 8, 1997, in her home after a long illness. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Turtle Lake. Further arrangements are pending at Goetz Funeral Home, Turtle Lake.

DICKINSON -- Edgar Svetenko, 74, Dickinson, died April 7, 1997, in the Dickinson hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. MDT Friday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Killdeer, with burial in Killdeer Cemetery.

Barbara Ouelette
Barbara M. Ouellette, 89, Billings, Mont., died April 5, 1997, in a Billings nursing home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. MDT Saturday at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Belfield, with burial in the church cemetery.

She is survived by three daughters, Melrose Vokal, Laurel, Mont., Betty Huschka, Billings, and Edith Wolf, Belfield; one brother, Philip Wagner, South Heart; and one sister, Viola Reich, Vancouver, Wash. (Mischel-Olson Chapel, Dickinson)

David Bren
DICKINSON -- David W. Bren, 46, Dickinson, died April 5, 1997, in the Dickinson hospital of natural causes. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Friday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson.

He is survived by his parents, William and Caroline Bren, Dickinson; and one brother, Jim, Orange Valle, Calif. (Mischel-Olson Chapel, Dickinson)

Rev. Wilbur Bears Heart
MOBRIDGE, S.D. -- The Rev. Wilbur Bears Heart, 69, Mobridge, died April 5, 1997, in the Mobridge hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Scherr-Howe Arena, Mobridge. Further arrangements are pending at Kesling Funeral Home, Mobridge.

Lawrence Johnson
Lawrence E. ``Larry" Johnson, 64, Kintyre, died April 6, 1997, in his home. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Kintyre, with the Rev. Gary Connors-Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Maria Lutheran Cemetery, rural Kintyre.

Helen Roth will serve as organist for the service. Pallbearers will be Dale Johnson, Daryl Johnson, Gary Johnson, David Johnson, Terry Johnson and Al Johnson.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Napoleon. Visitation will continue at the church one hour before services.

Larry was born Feb. 4, 1933, on the family farm in rural Emmons County, south of Kintyre, the son of Stuart and Anna (Olson) Johnson. He grew up on the farm and received his elementary education in rural Emmons County schools. After his education he continued to farm with his family and eventually operated the farm in partnership with his brother Ronald. Larry was married to LaVonne Selleck, May 24, 1953, at Battle Lake, Minn. They returned to the Johnson family farm where they have lived and farmed since that time.

Larry was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church at Kintyre. Larry's great loves were his family, especially his grandchildren, and the family farm.

He is survived by his wife, LaVonne; one daughter, Susan Johnson, Seattle; three sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Francine, Bismarck, Marc and Joyce, Fargo, and Michael and Kristi, Wahpeton; seven grandchildren, Shawna Garrity, Stuart, Sean, Nicholas, Brianna, Allison and Andrew Johnson; and three brothers and sisters-in-law, Vernon and Darlene, Napoleon, Ernest and Vivian, Steele, and Ronald and Della, Bismarck.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Elmer; and one sister, Ruth.

Jack Gordian
WILTON -- Jack Gordian, 54, Wilton, died April 6, 1997, at his home of natural causes. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, Wilton, with the Rev. Paul Schauer officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Wilton.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Blue Chip Softball Team.

Active pallbearers will be Harry Schmidt, Doug Johnson, Tony Rothacker, Denny Liebel, Mike Ell and Harley Jennings.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Goetz Funeral Home, Washburn, and will continue at the church one hour before services. A family service will begin at 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Jack was born Jan. 22, 1943, at Johnstown, Pa., to George and Agnes (Melinak) Gordian. He grew up and attended schools in Virginia and Maryland. He served in the U.S. Air Force from June 1961 to June 1964. After his discharge at Minot, he married Lois J. Krush at Wilton on Feb. 8, 1964. They made their home at various places before moving to Wilton in 1970.

Jack was a member of Bismarck Eagles and Moose. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and loved softball. He was the sponsor for the Blue Chip Softball team for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Lois J.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Linda Gordian, Bismarck, and Brenda and Paul Waletzko, Santa Barbara, Calif.; and one son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Holly, Dickinson.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

John Doll
John A. Doll, 75, Bismarck, died April 6, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital, after a long battle with cancer. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Jim Sorenson officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Bismarck Funeral Home, and will continue at the church one hour before services.

John Andrew Doll was born June 11, 1921, in Billings, Mont., the son of Paul and Agatha (Schneider) Doll. He was raised and educated in Bismarck. On Sept. 14, 1942, he joined the U.S. Army. He served in the European, African and Middle Eastern theaters. Before his discharge on Dec. 15, 1944, he was awarded the silver star. On Jan. 8, 1947, John married Ella Sandau in Miles City, Mont. They made their home in Bismarck. John worked a number of years in construction before becoming safety inspector for North Dakota Workers Compensation Department. He retired in 1988.

John was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Senior Center, Eagles and Faith Lutheran Church. He was also a volunteer with the Meals on Wheels program. John enjoyed dancing, fishing and hunting, traveling and bowling.

He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and Douglas Brauer, Debra and Lee Huber, and Sharon and Dale Dockter, all of Bismarck; six grandchildren, Jodie and Jennifer Brauer, Jonathan and Jacqueline Huber, and Brandt and Nicole Dockter; two brothers; six sisters; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Gertie Paul.

John was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and two sisters.

The family prefers memorials to Faith Lutheran Church.
