Doris Maier
Doris D. Maier, 66, 510 W. Ingals Ave., died Jan. 12, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at House of Prayer Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Erik Boye officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.

Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. today and 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Wednesday at Eastgate Funeral Service, and will continue at the church one hour before services.

Doris Darlene Langshaw was born March 15, 1930, in Artesia, Calif., the daughter of William and Amy (Beiger) Langshaw. She was raised and educated in Lindsay, Mont. She moved to Bismarck with her sister Mary, in 1948. Doris attended Christie Beauty School. She married Richard Maier, July 28, 1950, in Bismarck. After their marriage, Doris stayed home to raise her seven children. Doris enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed camping, gardening and the outdoors.

She is survived by her husband, Richard; one son and daughter-in-law, Philip and Sherlene, Cleveland, Ohio; six daughters and five sons-in-law, Mary Maier, Donna and Chris Frey, Deborah and Frank Koch, Phyllis and John Lilley, Janet and Brian Wallace, and Patricia and Brett Behm, all of Bismarck; 12 grandchildren; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Mary Sukut, Bismarck, and Joyce and Chuck Gill, Costa Mesa, Calif.; one brother, Willis, Reno, Nev.; and a very special friend, Becky Albers.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Doris will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. She will forever be with us in our hearts.

Henry Lorentzen
WASHBURN -- Henry Lorentzen, 96, Washburn, died Jan. 10, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Washburn Baptist Church, with burial in Riverview Cemetery, Washburn.

He is survived by his wife, Grace; two daughters, Estell Torgerson, Vinton, Iowa, and Yvonne McGuire, Underwood; and two sons, Norman, Bismarck, and Ross, Washburn. (Goetz Funeral Home, Washburn)

Miriam Breitenfeldt
WIBAUX, Mont. -- Miriam Ruth Breitenfeldt, 92, Wibaux, died Jan. 11, 1997, in Billings. Burial will be at 10 a.m. MST Wednesday at Wibaux Cemetery. Memorial services will be held at a later date. (Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home, Wibaux)

Leo Eichenberger
Leo E. Eichenberger, 62, 504 N. 26th St., died Jan. 11, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Ron Gladen officiating. Burial will be in Grace Lutheran Cemetery, Driscoll.

Visitation will begin at noon today at Boelter Funeral Home, and will continue at the church one hour before services.

Leo was born Jan. 18, 1934, the son of Harry and Amelia (Haid) Eichenberger. He was raised and attended schools in the Kintyre area, where he resided with his family until they moved to the Sterling community in 1969. In his later years, he and his parents spent the winter months in Velva, near his sister and her family.

Leo had a special way of visiting with people of all ages. He spent a lot of time with friends over a cup of coffee and a cookie. He enjoyed old time and country music. He especially enjoyed attending the Grand Ol Opry twice, in Branson, Mo. and Las Vegas.

He is survived by his mother, Amelia, Bismarck; two brothers and one sister, Jerry, and Ray and Diane, all of Bismarck; one sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Jerry Lee, Bismarck; his nieces and nephews, Scott and Tammy Eichenberger, Jodie Lee, Julie Jansky, Amy Oslund; step-nephew and step-niece, Mike Lee and Anita Michaud; one grand-niece, Madison Jansky; and step-grand-nieces and step-grand-nephews, Joshua and Abigail Lee, and Nichole Michaud.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harry, in 1993; and an infant brother and sister.

Glen Zahn
MCKENZIE -- Glen Zahn, 48, McKenzie, died Jan. 10, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at noon Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Charlie Heidt officiating. Burial will be in McKenzie Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon-9 p.m. today at Dakota Memorial Chapel, where a rosary will be said at 7 tonight.

Glen was born Oct. 19, 1948, in Bismarck, to Florence (Weiand) and Valentine Zahn.

He leaves behind four brothers, Doug and Ted, both of McKenzie, Bernard and James, both of Bismarck; four sisters, Rosella, McKenzie, Bonnie, Mandan, Coletta Lindblom and Joyce Christiansen, Bismarck; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He will be missed by all.

Toline Kensmoe
MCCLUSKY -- Toline Kensmoe, 83, McClusky, died Jan. 12, 1997, in the Underwood nursing home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church, McClusky, with burial in McClusky Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. today at Hertz Funeral Home, McClusky.

Toline was born Nov. 10, 1913, on the family farm 14 miles north of McClusky, near Skogmo. She was the daughter of Theodore and Anna (Anderson) Ostrom. She grew up and attended rural school in the Skogmo area. She married Clifford R. Kensmoe, April 7, 1934, in Carrington. They lived near Picardville for several years. They moved into McClusky in 1939. She was a sales clerk at Baron's General Store in McClusky for several years. They lived in McClusky until she entered Prairie View Nursing Home in Underwood recently.

She was a member of James Roberts Post No. 23 American Legion Auxiliary, McClusky for more than 50 years. She was very supportive of school activities and was an avid fan of the McClusky High School Dragon basketball team. She also enjoyed quilting.

She is survived by her husband, Clifford; one son and daughter-in-law, Harlind Ostrum, Portal; two daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Ron Reiswig, Bismarck, and Marla and Daniel Wesen, Bozeman, Mont.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Leonard, McClusky, and L.B. ``Sonny," Fresno, Calif.; one sister, Evelyn Running, Washington.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Lyle, Chester and Harold.

Eugenia Miessel
Eugenia Miessel, 81, Patterson Place, died Jan. 11, 1997, at her home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Joel Sherer officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at noon today at Boelter Funeral Home, and will continue at the church one hour before services.

Eugenia was born Feb. 13, 1915, near Golden Valley, the daughter of Phillip and Elizabeth (Denke) Entzel. She grew up and was educated in the Mercer County area. Eugenia worked in the Beulah nursing home, and after moving to Bismarck, at both Medcenter One and St. Alexius hospitals. She also did volunteer work at St. Alexius and Burleigh County Senior Center.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Norma and Conrad Feit, Garnerville, N.Y., and Darlene and Robert Thielman, Alaska; one son and two daughters-in-law, Marvin and Arlene Giese, Bismarck, and Norma Giese, Liberty Lake, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Erna Guse, Hamilton, Mont.; three half-sisters, Caroline Zieszler, Garrison, Frieda Conradson, Sidney, Mont., and Alma Bitterman, Billings; one stepsister, Mary Kasper, Fairfield, Mont.; one brother, Alvin Entzel, Glendive, Mont.; two half-brothers, Edwin Bieber, Sidney, Mont., and Art Bieber, Zap.

Oscar Opheim
HETTINGER -- Oscar Ludwig Opheim, 92, Bowman, died Jan. 11, 1997, in the Bowman nursing home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Assembly of God Church, Hettinger, with burial in Bucyrus Cemetery.

He is survived by two sons, Robert, Lemmon, and Frank, Hettinger; two daughters, Shirley Opheim, Hettinger, and Helen Hilsendager, Lemmon. (Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home, Hettinger)

Moriah Eymann
Moriah Eymann, the infant son of James and Peggy Eymann, Bemidji, Minn., was stillborn Jan. 3, 1997. Private services were held Jan. 5.

He is survived by his parents; two brothers, Micheal and Matthew; his grandparents, Leonard and Barbara Verr, Karlstad, Minn., and Vernon and Rosena Eymann, Kenmare; and his great-grandmother, Clara Eymann, Kenmare.

Harold E. Olson
Harold E. Olson, 89, Bismarck, died Jan. 6, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Bismarck Funeral Home, with the Rev. Steve Sathre officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.

Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Thursday, and will continue after 10 a.m. Friday, all at the funeral home.

Harold was born Feb. 28, 1907, in Burleigh County, to Olaf B. and Edith (Hogue) Olson. He was raised and educated in Bismarck. Harold worked as a plumber and electrician prior to his employment with the Motor Vehicle Depart. He received a plaque upon retirement for his 37 years of devoted service. Harold was inducted into the Army Infantry in 1942 and served as a Sargent at Fort Snelling in Minneapolis. Harold married Lea Seidler, Dec. 31, 1939, in Bismarck. They were nine days shy of 55 years together when Lea died Dec. 22, 1994.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, a life member of Legion and Elks, a member of the United Commercial Travelers Club and Masonic Lodge. He also enjoyed fishing and listening to sports.

Harold is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Viola and Claude Cummins, Seattle; five sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law, Tena and Jack Lester, Idaho, Ida and Joe Litt, Bismarck, Esther and M.W. Froelich, Mandan, Hilda Seidler, New Leipzig, and Catherine Seidler, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lea; his parents; one sister and brother-in-law, Edna and Hugh McCrorie.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church or American Cancer Society.

Ellen Levitt
WILLISTON -- Ellen Levitt, 90, Williston, died Jan. 12, 1997, in the Williston nursing home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Everson Funeral Home, Williston, with burial in Riverview Cemetery, Williston.

She is survived by four sons, LaVerne, Shreveport, La., Monte, Boise, Idaho, Michael, Williston, and Gene, Grand Forks; one sister, Ida Botz, Minot; and one brother, Vernon Swiss, Minot.

Ole E. Kinn
COLEHARBOR -- Ole E. Kinn, 95, Coleharbor, died Jan. 14, 1997, in the Turtle Lake hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Concordia Lutheran Church, Benedict, with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon-8 p.m. Friday and 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday at Goetz Funeral Home, Underwood, and will continue at the church one hour before services.

Ole Emil Kinn was born Aug. 30, 1901, in Red Lake County near Oklee, Minn. to Chris and Gertrude (Rendahl) Kinn. He moved to Snake Creek Township in McLean County in 1907. At the age of 13 he moved with his parents to Malcom Township, where he resided until his death. On June 25, 1937, he married Lillian Reitman at Underwood. They made their home on a farm northeast of Coleharbor.

He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Benedict, where he served on the church board. He also served on the township board and school board. He enjoyed reading and kept up on all local, national and world events. He also enjoyed reminiscing with friends and family. Ole was an avid sportsman and enjoyed playing his violin.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Wendell, Marvin and Joan, and Curtis and Valerie, all of Coleharbor; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Geline Johnson, Coleharbor, Lucille and Robert Johnson, Ruso, Oleeta and Walter Rime, and Palma and Eugene Levey, all of Underwood; 17 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

Jerome Decker
DICKINSON -- Jerome Decker, 90, Dickinson, died Jan. 14, 1997, in a Dickinson nursing home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. MST Friday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson. Further arrangements are pending at Mischel-Olson Chapel, Dickinson.

Darrel Buck
HAZELTON -- Darrel Buck, 55, Sumner, Wash., formerly of Hazelton, died of cancer, Jan. 7, 1997. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Peace Lutheran Church, Linton, with burial in Hazelton Cemetery.

He is survived by his mother, Jessie Buck, Linton; his wife, Charlene; one son, Daniel, Sumner; three daughters, Sharri Proulx, Buckley, Wash., Laurie Hanson and Tamara Brock, both of Tacoma, Wash.; one brother, Cledus, Sumner; and two sisters, Ethel Schatz, Linton, and Lorraine Schatz, Bismarck. Anton Schneider
DICKINSON -- Anton Schneider, 86, Dickinson, died Jan. 10, 1997, in a Dickinson nursing home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Linton, with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn; two sons, Raymond, Fargo, and Robert, San Diego, Calif.; and three daughters, Irene Burkle, Dickinson, Phyllis Ohlhauser, Linton, and Yvonne Richter, Bismarck. (Myers Funeral Home, Linton)

Darlene Cadotte
WAKPALA, S.D. -- Darlene Jean Cadotte, 35, Wakpala, died Jan. 9, 1997. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Bede's Catholic Church, Wakpala. Further arrangements are pending at Kesling Funeral Home, Mobridge.

Richard Rhoades
KILLDEER -- Richard S. Rhoades, 86, Killdeer, died Jan. 14, 1997 in the Killdeer nursing home. Further arrangements are pending with Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson.

Vera Gorder
REEDER -- Vera J. Gorder, 66, Reeder, died Jan. 12, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Private family services will be held Thursday at Sunset Home Chapel, Bowman, with burial in Reeder Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, David; three sons, Clyde, Glendive, Mont., Don, Nashua, Mont., and Tom, Baker, Mont.; one daughter, Diane Hoover, Fairview; one sister, Shirley Shaefer, Dickinson; and one brother, Doug Enderle, Beulah. (Krebsbach Funeral Service, Bowman)

Iva Brown
JAMESTOWN -- Iva L. Brown, 82, Jamestown, died Jan. 14, 1997, in Jamestown. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethany Lutheran Church, Robinson, with burial in the church cemetery.

Margaretha Fueller
TURTLE LAKE -- Margaretha Fueller, 93, Turtle Lake, died Jan. 13, 1997, in the Underwood nursing home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Turtle Lake, with burial in Turtle Lake Cemetery.

Matthew Young Bird Sr.
WATFORD CITY -- Matthew Young Bird Sr., 76, Watford City, died Jan. 13, 1997, in the Watford City nursing home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Mandaree High School, with burial in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, Mandaree.

He is survived by two sons, Darryl, Mandaree, and Arnold, Poplar, Mont.; five daughters, Berry Ross, Tioga, Joan Young Bird, Mandaree, Mavis Young Bird, Bismarck, Noreen Young Bird, Watford City, and Doreen Young Bird, Mandaree; six brothers, Herman, Parshall, Henry, New Town, Leroy, M andaree, Thomas, Twin Buttes, Reynolds, Parker, Ariz., and Robert, New Town; and two sisters, Philomena Grinnell, New Town, an d Karen White Clay, Crow Agency, Mont. Anton Rambur
Anton Rambur, 62, Twin Falls, Idaho, died of cancer, Dec. 25, 1996, in his home. Services were held Dec. 30 at St. Edwards Catholic Church, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park.

He is survived by his wife, Terri; four sons, Tim and Brad, both of Pocatello, Idaho, and Todd and Brian, both of Twin Falls; one sister, Pauline Smith, Bismarck; and one brother, Mike, Bismarck.
