Clara Kurtz, 74, Bismarck, died Nov. 18, 1996, in a Bismarck nursing home. Arrangements are pending at Myers Funeral Home, Linton.

Doris Parsons
DICKINSON -- Doris K. Parsons, 72, Dickinson, died Nov. 17, 1996, in a St. Louis Park, Minn., hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. MST Thursday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dickinson, with burial in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan.

She is survived by her husband, Cleo; one son, Chuck, Minneapolis; one daughter, Ann Parsons, Seattle; three sisters, Elizabeth Thompson, Williston, Marion Fitzroy, Hinsdale, Mass., and Margaret Johnson, West Linn, Ore.; and five brothers, Don Vick, Watford City, James Vick, Billings, Mont., Alan Vick, Rochester, Minn., Ken Vick, Henderson, Nev., and David Vick, Barnesville, Minn. James Burgum
COOPERSTOWN -- James G. Burgum, Cooperstown, died Nov. 17, 1996, in the Cooperstown nursing home. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church, Larimore, with burial in Bellevue Cemetery, Larimore.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine; two daughters, Debra Dahl, Hannaford, and Kathryn Larson, Fargo; and three sisters, Margaret Plasterer, Marion Stevens and Edith Sheldon, all of Washburn. (Bakke Funeral Home, Larimore)

Rose Gette
DEVILS LAKE -- Rose Gette, 70, Devils Lake, died Nov. 18, 1996, in a Fargo hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Devils Lake, with burial in Assumption Catholic Cemetery, Starkweather.

She is survived by her husband, Leo; two sons, Roger, Irving, Texas, and Ronald, Gainesville, Texas; three daughters, Janice Weiss, Anchorage, Alaska, Judy Gette, Palmer, Alaska, and Darlene Smith, Fargo; one brother, Leo Schiele, Minneapolis; and four sisters, Barbara Schell and Christina Dettling, both of Devils Lake, Mary Sager, Oakland, Calif., and Ann Myzak, Salem, Ore. Frank Mauk
Frank Mauk, 85, Seattle, formerly of Emmons County, died Nov. 17, 1996, in Tacoma, after a long illness. Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Fremont Baptist Church, Seattle.

He is survived by his two daughters, Marjorie Twohy, Capertino, Calif., and Kathleen Reid, Redland, Calif.; one son, Gerald, Burke, Va.; and five sisters. (Bleitz Funeral Home, Seattle)

Anne Seibold
NEW ROCKFORD -- Anne Seibold, 94, New Rockford, died Nov. 17, 1996, in the New Rockford nursing home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, Fessenden, with burial in Germantown Baptist Cemetery, rural Cathay.

She is survived by two sons, Lester, Cathay, and Eldon, San Diego, Calif.; and one sister, Lydia Peterson, San Jose, Calif. (Evans Funeral Home, New Rockford)

Mildred Horner
MAYVILLE -- Mildred Horner, 91, Mayville, died Nov. 18, 1996, in the Mayville nursing home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Perry Lutheran Church, rural Portland, with burial in the church cemetery.

She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Aamold, Mayville, and Joyce LaChapelle, Bismarck; and two sisters, Thea Burner, Mayville, and Myrtle Traun, Moorhead, Minn. (Baker Funeral Home, Mayville)

Agnes Ladwig
WILLISTON -- Agnes Ladwig, 86, Williston, died Nov. 16, 1996, in the Williston nursing home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Bethel Lutheran Home, Williston, with burial in Riverview Cemetery, Williston.

She is survived by one daughter, Deloris Maynard, Tonasket, Wash.; and two sons, Jim, Dickinson, and Tom, Williston. (Everson Funeral Home, Williston)

Clarence Sandaker
WILLISTON -- Clarence Sandaker, 86, Williston, died Nov. 17, 1996, in the Williston nursing home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church, Williston, with burial in Riverview Cemetery, Williston.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha; four sons, Sonny, Sylvan, John and Tom, all of Williston; and two daughters, Aone Adams, Fargo, and Linda Vickery, Boise, Idaho. (Everson Funeral Home, Williston)

Fred Schnabel
LEHR -- Fred Schnabel, 75, Lehr, died Nov. 19, 1996, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church, Lehr, with burial in Lehr Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Anna; one son, Reed, Kindred; and one daughter, Brenda Huff, Mandan. (Haut Funeral Home, Wishek)

Hazelle Reich
WOODWORTH -- Hazelle Reich, 88, Northglenn, Colo., died Nov. 14, 1996, in Northglenn. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Woodworth, with burial in Gem Cemetery.

She is survived by one daughter, Phyllis Dvorak, Lafayette, Colo., and three sons, Raymond, Arvada, Colo., Ronald, Fargo, and Roger, Mandan. (Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown)

Gordon Bentz
HARVEY -- Gordon M. Bentz, 67, Harvey, died Nov. 20, 1996, in a Bismarck hospital. Arrangements are pending at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey.

Walter Doerr

He is survived by two daughters, Donna Mae Grueneich, Tulsa, Okla., and Constance Thomas, Vancouver, Wash.

Dorothy Pehl
ARENA -- Dorothy D. Pehl, 85, Steele, died Nov. 19, 1996, in a Bismarck hospital. Arrangements are pending at Boelter Funeral Home, Bismarck.

James Robertson
James K. ``Jimmy" Robertson, 76, Edina, Minn., had a lifelong love and involvement in baseball, first with the Washington Senators and then the Minnesota Twins.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; two sons, Michael and Larry, both of Edina; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Jeff Laschen, Bismarck, Joie and Dan Leonard, Orlando, Fla., and Jaime and Lamont Roth, Minneapolis; nine grandchildren, Pat, Mike, Katie and Mo Laschen, Adam and Amy Leonard, and Richie, Maggie and Jimmy Roth; two brothers, Calvin Griffith and Billy Robertson; one sister, Mildred Cronin; and many other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Edina, with burial in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Washburn McReavy Edina Chapel.

The family prefers memorials to Bismarck American Legion Jimmy Robertson Memorial Fund.

Jacob Serr
GLEN ULLIN -- Jacob Serr, 86, Glen Ullin, died Nov. 19, 1996, in Glen Ullin. Services will be at 1 p.m. MST Saturday at Evangelical Congregational Church, Glen Ullin, with burial in Glen Ullin Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Jacob was born Nov. 9, 1910, near Glen Ullin, to Christ and Elizabeth (Fehr) Serr. He was raised and educated at Hebron and Glen Ullin. He went to work for Rue Construction and later for the Works Project Administration. On May 29, 1937, he married Louise Swoboda at German Congregational Church in Glen Ullin. They farmed near Glen Ullin. In 1950 they moved into Glen Ullin, where he worked for the highway department and later for Braun Oil for 26 years. He retired in the mid 1970s and continued to reside in Glen Ullin. Louise died June 1, 1980. Jake entered Marian Manor Nursing Home, Glen Ullin, earlier this month.

He was a member of Evangelical Congregational Church.

He is survived by five sons, Monte, Sioux Falls, S.D., Bobby, Davison, Mich., Dean, Minot, Dale, Almont, and the Rev. Jack, Salt Lake City; one daughter, Sharon, Moscow, Idaho; six grandchildren; one brother, Edward, Elgin; and one sister, Alvina Weishar, San Pablo, Calif.

Clara Kurtz
HAZELTON -- Clara Kurtz, 74, Bismarck, died Nov. 18, 1996, in a Bismarck nursing home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Myers Funeral Home, Linton, with the Rev. Fred Hinkelmann officiating. Burial will be in Hazelton Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. today at the funeral home.

Clara was born Feb. 10, 1922, on a farm west of Temvik, the daughter of Christ and Christina (Schlecht) Geier. She attended rural school. In October of 1945, she married Howard Kurtz at Hazelton. They farmed southeast of Hazelton. They moved into Hazelton in 1965. Howard died in 1993. She owned and operated a bar in Hazelton, and later worked at Renschler's Restaurant for a number of years. She entered the Bismarck Baptist Home in July 1995. She enjoyed playing cards and cooking.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Cynthia, Linton; one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Terry Saville, Dickinson; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Jack, Dickinson; three sisters, Martha Reider, Betty Balanga and Rose Thompson, all of Bismarck; and a special friend, James Wessel, Hazelton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; and one sister.

Frank Zent
Frank J. Zent, 75, 1133 N. Third St., died Nov. 19, 1996, in the Devils Lake hospital. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at McCabe United Methodist Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Jeanine O'Neil officiating. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan, with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1326.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at Eastgate Funeral Service.

Frank was born July 9, 1921, in Mandan, the son of Chris P. and Mary (Staudinger) Zent. He graduated from Mandan High School in 1940. Frank enlisted in the North Dakota National Guard in 1939 and was called to active duty in April 1941. He served in the Europe during World War II. He returned to the United States in October 1945. He re-enlisted in the U.S. Army in February 1948. He married Geraldine Koenig, April 25, 1948. He served on active duty with the U.S. Army, retiring Oct. 1, 1963. They moved back to Bismarck after his retirement from active duty. He then served in the U.S. Army Reserve at the 311th General Hospital Unit. He also worked for Melroe Co. until his retirement in 1982.

He was a member of American Legion Post No. 1, a life member of VFW Post 1326, and McCabe United Methodist Church. He also did volunteer work with the St. Alexius Hospice Program.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine ``Gerry"; one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Nels Peterson, Lakota; one son and daughter-in-law, Kirby and Cynthia, Watertown, S.D.; six grandsons, Jordan, Joshua, Jared and Joseph Peterson, all of Lakota, and Cameron and Colin Zent, both of Watertown; two brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Pat, Bismarck, Matt, Bismarck, and Nettie Zent, Mandan; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; and two brothers.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to North Dakota Veterans Cemetery and St. Alexius Hospice.

Ruby Richholt
Ruby Viola Richholt, 66, Bismarck, died Nov. 19, 1996, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at McCabe United Methodist Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Peary Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Bismarck Funeral Home and will continue at the church one hour before services.

Ruby was born May 16, 1930, at Benedict, to Fred W. and Martha (Bauer) Meyer. She was the oldest of two children. She married Gerald Richholt Jr. in September 1945, at McCabe United Methodist Church. To this union, four children were born. Ruby worked at Saks News Agency for many years. She was employed at Medcenter One for approximately 30 years in central supply.

Her hobbies were cooking and baking for her family.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Jim Weisz, Fargo, and Pamela and Jim Clooten, Beulah; two sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Melissa, Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, Canada, and Jeffrey and Mary, Bismarck; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Ken Meyer, Bismarck; and her special friend, Molly.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
