DICKINSON -- Mark Sadowsky, 36, Dickinson, died Sept. 7, 1997, in his home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Thursday at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, New Hradec, with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his parents, Alfred and Lillian Sadowsky, Dickinson; two brothers, Tim, Bowman, and Jon, Dickinson; and three sisters, Ann Sadowsky, Dickinson, Patricia Metzger, Cumming, Ga., and Mary Sadowsky, Dickinson. (Mischel-Olson Chapel, Dickinson)

Frank Heick
NEW ENGLAND -- Frank Heick, 85, New England, died Sept. 7, 1997, in a Dickinson nursing home. Services will be held at 3 p.m. MDT Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, New England, with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Viola; three sons, Bob, Sidney, Mont., Paul, Bismarck, and Dale, St. Louis, Mo.; one daughter, Carol Olsen, Bismarck; one brother, Harry, Palo Alto, Calif.; and one sister, Kattie Hoffman, Portland, Ore. (Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson)

Nina Hager
HARVEY -- Nina P. Hager, 70, Harvey, died Sept. 6, 1997, in the Harvey hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey, with burial in the church cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Frank; three sons, Larry, Harvey, and Mike and Jim, both of Bismarck; three daughters, Donna Bitz and Nancy Kukowski, both of Harvey, and Marla Lemer, Bismarck; one sister, Bernece Stiechen, Fargo; and two brothers, Donald Joyce, Fargo, and John Joyce, Rancho Cordova, Calif. Wallace Williams
MADDOCK -- Wallace N. Williams, 80, Maddock, died Sept. 7, 1997, in the Devils Lake hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Maddock, with burial in Our Savior's Lutheran Cemetery, Harlow.

He is survived by one sister, Phyllis Rehling, Maddock; and two brothers, Clifford, Minot, and Walter, Fargo. (Nelson Funeral Home, Maddock)

Helen Wing
Helen Jaszkowiak Wing, 86, Jefferson, Wis., died Aug. 31, 1997, in a Jefferson nursing home.

Helen was born April 29, 1911, in Bismarck, the daughter of pioneers Francis and Mary (Klapprich) Jaszkowiak. Helen grew up and attended St. Mary's School in Bismarck. She married Charles Wing in Bismarck in January 1942. They moved to Jefferson in the early 1950s.

She is survived by her only child, Virginia, St. Coletta's School, Jefferson; one brother, George Jaszkowiak, Boise, Idaho; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Alfred Jorstad
ZAHL -- Services for Alfred Jorstad, 78, longtime resident of Smoky Butte Township, rural Zahl, more recently of Williston, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at United Lutheran Church, Zahl, with the Revs. Dean Bakken and Tom Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Rudser Cemetery, rural Zahl. Alfred died Sept. 8, 1997, in the Williston hospital.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today at Fulkerson Funeral Home, Williston, and will continue at the church one hour before services.

Alfred was born Feb. 18, 1919, at Stady, the son of Ole and Justine (Rostad) Jorstad. He attended Sioux Trail School and graduated from Crosby High School. On June 14, 1944, he was united in marriage to Eunice Pierce of Scranton. They purchased a farm in Smoky Butte Township in Divide County where they farmed until moving to Williston in 1984. Alfred enjoyed farming and used various conservation methods in his farming practices. He raised primarily spring wheat and durum over the years. Most recently he spent his time transplanting evergreen trees on his farm and enjoyed keeping the farmstead well groomed and maintained.

Alfred found it easy to make friends. Visiting with people and having coffee at Wal-Mart was especially enjoyable. He was a 4-H leader, clerk of Smoky Butte Township for many years, a member of Zahl Elevator Board, Divide County Soil Conservation Board and held various church offices. In later years, his interests were maintaining the family farm yard and working with stained glass.

He is survived by his wife, Eunice; three daughters and sons-in-law, Delores and Orvin Ravnaas, Turtle Lake, Marlys and Gary Albright, Mohall, and Diane and Daryl Gronfur, Bismarck; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Lois, and Duane and Lori, all of Williston; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and two sisters, Odney Mehus and Lilah Johnson, both of Williston.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Agnes Peters; and two brothers, Oswald and Norman.

Raymond Atol
WILLISTON -- Raymond Atol, 67, Williston, died Sept. 9, 1997, in the Williston hospital. Services will be held at 10-30 a.m. Saturday, at Our Redeemers Lutheran Church, Williston. Further arrangements are pending with Everson Funeral Home, Williston.

Martha Olheiser
DICKINSON -- Martha J. Olheiser, 61, Dickinson, died Sept. 9, 1997, at her home after a courageous struggle with cancer. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Saturday, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson. Further arrangements are pending with Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson.

Elizabeth Carlson
BOWMAN -- Elizabeth Carlson, 86, Bowman, formerly of Marmarth, died Sept. 9, 1997, in the Dickinson hospital. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, at Bethel Lutheran Cemetery, Powers Lake.

She is survived by two daughters, Cathy Edwards, Powers Lake, and Ramona Davis, Bowman; two sisters, Sarah Ziske, Billings, Mont., and Katherine Hochhalter, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; and one brother, Fred Mann, Carson. (Krebsbach Funeral Service, Bowman)

Edmund Loeb
Edmund Loeb, 74, formerly of Mandan, died Sept. 10, 1997, in the Enderlin nursing home. Arrangements are pending with Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan.

Rose Auwinger
HAZEN -- Rose Auwinger, 100, Hazen, died Sept. 9, 1997, in the Beulah nursing home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Friday, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hazen, with burial in the church cemetery.

She is survived by two sisters, Katherine Reiner, New Salem, and Christine Hilz, Hazen. (Seibel Funeral Home, Hazen)

Joseph Addabbo
Joseph Paul Addabbo, 32, 1511 S. Washington St., Bismarck, died Sept. 9, 1997, in his home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, at Ascension Catholic Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Arnold Spain officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8:30 p.m. today, at Bismarck Funeral Home, where a prayer and rosary service will be held at 7 p.m.

Joseph was born Jan. 10, 1965 in Canton, Ohio, to Leo and Marjorie (Westemeier) Addabbo. The family lived in New City, N.Y. when Joseph was a young boy. They moved to Savage, Minn., where he attended Savage Elementary School and later Nicolet Junior High in Burnsville, Minn. His family then made their home in Hettinger, where they operated the Tip-Top Motel. Joseph graduated from Bowman High School in 1983.

Beginning in 1985, Joseph resided in Dickinson until 1987 when he entered the two year Handicap Independent Training (HIT) Program in Bismarck. For the next seven years he shared an apartment with another HIT Program resident. For five years he worked for Pride Industries as a computer engraver. He was forced to give up his job due to declining health.

He was a great fan of Wynonna Judd and when his case manager found out that she was coming to Bismarck, she arranged for Joseph to have a private interview with her. This was a very special experience for him and he treasured the moments that he got to spend with her very deeply. A truer fan she could never have.

Joseph took his disability of muscular dystrophy as a challenge through his 32 years of life. He was known as a person who never had an ill thing to say about any individual and he was noted for his fine manners, even disposition and sense of humor.

He is survived by his parents, Leo and Marjorie, Bismarck; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Steven and Lenae, Owatonna, Minn., and Thomas and Jill, Maple Grove, Minn.; two sisters, Diane Pahlow, Mansfield, Ohio, and Deborah Vaughan, Green Bay, Wis.; one grandmother, Irene Westemeier, Galena, Ill.; and eight nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Mark; and three grandparents.

The family prefers memorials to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Margaret Dressler
Margaret G. Dressler, 72, 1506 Second Ave. N.W., Mandan, died Sept. 9, 1997, at her home, after a three and a half year battle with cancer. Services will be held at 2 p.m. today, at Eastgate Funeral Chapel, Bismarck, with the Rev. Robert Feeney officiating. There will be no visitation as Margaret had donated her body to science to help in the research fight against cancer.

Margaret was born Nov. 15, 1924 in St. Louis, Mo., to Mary (Engel) and Joseph Charles Meyers. She was raised and educated in St. Louis. In 1942 she married Frank H. Gott, Sr. They were divorced in 1957. Margaret then met and married John Dressler in 1966. They made their home in Bismarck until three years ago when they moved to Liberty Heights Senior Community in Mandan. Margaret worked as a waitress at the Woolworth Stores and Kmart. She also did babysitting in her home for a number of years.

She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

Margaret loved going for rides and will be missed by many.

She is survived by her husband, Johnny Dressler, Mandan; three daughters, Sherry L. Decker and Margaret I. Larsen, both of Bismarck, and Ruth M. Gallegos, Santee, Calif.; three sons, Frank H. Gott, Jr., Watertown, S.D., Richard C. Gott, Leonard, Mich., and Bruce J. Niegum, Spanaway, Wash.; two sisters, Theresa Kort and Lillian Johns, both of St. Louis, Mo.; seven grandsons; four granddaughters; five great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother, at birth; her mother in 1927; her father in 1952; and three sisters, Marie Obrien in 1994, Anna Meyers in 1942, and Agnes Meyers in 1989.

William Becker
NEW SALEM -- William L. "Bill" Becker, 85, New Salem, died Sept. 8, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. MDT Friday, at Zion Lutheran Church, New Salem, with the Rev. Loren Strum officiating. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, south of Mandan, with military rites by the John Repsdorf American Legion Post No. 91, New Salem.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today, and 9 a.m. to noon Friday, at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, New Salem. There will be no reviewal at the church.

William L. was born Sept. 10, 1911 on the family farm in rural Youngtown, N.D., the son of William C. and Minnie (Borchelt) Becker. He attended school in New Salem and worked for area farmers until entering the United States Army where he served in the Normandy Invasion and was injured in the European Theater. He received a Purple Heart.

Following his discharge, he was a mail carrier for 45 years retiring in 1991. Bill married Martha Egli, Sept. 16, 1947 in New Salem. In the 1960s he worked for the Corp of Engineers on the missile silos. He loved to read, be around horses and to travel.

Bill was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where he served on the church council. He was also a member of the Sportsmen Club, New Salem Pioneer Club, New Salem American Legion and Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by his wife, Martha, New Salem; three daughters and one son-in-law, Pamela Becker Tracy and Peter Tracy, Mankato, Minn., and Corliss Becker and Teresa Becker, both of Spokane, Wash.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Jackie, Worland, Wyo., and Michael and Becky, Bowling Green, Ohio; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Helen Peterson; and one grandson, Matthew Becker.

Jerry Kveum
Jerry C. Kveum, 73, Plymouth, Minn., formerly of Bismarck, died Sept. 10, 1997. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church, Crystal, Minn., with a private burial.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Washburn McReavy DuSchane Chapel, Robbinsdale, Minn., and will continue at the church one hour before services.

Mr. Kveum was the owner of Capital Hearing Service in Bismarck and Minot for 32 years.

He is survived by his wife, Leona; five children; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

The family prefers memorials to the Alzheimers Association.

Kenneth Graner
Kenneth L. Graner, 75, Glendale, Ariz., formerly of Mandan, died July 31, 1997, in Glendale. Memorial services were held at St. Andrew Church, Los Alamitos, Calif.

Kenneth was born Feb. 20, 1922, in Mandan, the son of Paul M. and Katherine (Mann) Graner. He was retired after 33 years with Sherwin Williams Paint Co.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred; two sons, Jerry and Kenny; two daughters, Linda Hutchinson and Kelly Lima; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Bernie, Roger and Melvin; and three sisters, Loretta, Agnes and Frances.

Mildred Brekke
MINNEWAUKAN -- Mildred Brekke, 88, Grand Forks, died Sept. 10, 1997, in a Grand Forks nursing home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Free Lutheran Church, Minnewaukan. Further arrangements are pending at Nelson Funeral Home, Minnewaukan.

Nannie Logsdon
LEMMON, S.D. -- Nannie Belle Logsdon, 86, Rapid City, died Sept. 10, 1997, in the Rapid City hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. MDT Monday at Church of God, Lemmon, with burial in Greenhill Cemetery, Lemmon.

She is survived by four sons, Glyndon, Virginia Beach, Va., Bert, Reedsport, Ore., Garth, Wennemucca, Nev., and Haskel, Rapid City; and one daughter, Winona Penfield, Bowman, N.D. (Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home, Lemmon)

Theresa Wilhelm Theresa Wilhelm, 60, Bismarck, died Sept. 11, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Linton. Further arrangements are pending Myers Funeral Home, Linton.

James Sayler
James Sayler, 68, 606 N. 24th St., died Sept. 11, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Arrangements are pending at Eastgate Funeral Service.

Martha Aman
MOBRIDGE, S.D. -- Martha Aman, 82, Mobridge, died Sept. 11, 1997, in an Aberdeen hospital. Arrangements are pending at Myers Funeral Home, Linton, N.D.

Raymond Atol
WILLISTON -- Raymond Atol, 67, Williston, died Sept. 9, 1997, in the Williston hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Redeemers Lutheran Church, Williston, with burial in Riverview Cemetery, Williston.

He is survived by his wife, Darlain; two sons, Gerald, Eagle River, Ark., and Robert, Casper, Wyo.; one daughter, Debra Hendrickson, Williston; one brother, George, Williston; and two sisters, Sophie Myhre and Charlotte Lystvedt, both of Minot. (Everson Funeral Home, Williston)

Lori Bender
MICHIGAN -- Lori Adamson Bender, 40, Fairview, Ore., died Aug. 30, 1997, in Oregon in a boating accident. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Sarnia United Lutheran Church, Whitman, with burial in East Sarnia Cemetery, rural Whitman.

She is survived by her husband, Douglas; her parents, Arthur and Anne Adamson, Michigan; two sisters, Wanda Mengelkoch, Fargo, and Maranel Beckman, Carrington; and one brother, Lee, Grand Forks. (Aaker Funeral Home, Lakota)
