KULM -- Alice B. Hehr, 70, Kulm, died May 21, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. A memorial service will be held at 10-30 a.m. Monday, at United Methodist Church, Kulm. Burial will be in United Methodist Cemetery.

She is survived by one daughter, Arva Dell Kinzler, Kulm; two sons, Dennis, Kulm, and Larry, Denver; and three sisters, Joy Thede, Jamestown, Marion Jacobson, Fargo, and Della Smith, Canyon Country, Calif. (Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Kulm)

Henry Huether
ASHLEY -- Henry Huether, 103, Ashley, died May 21, 1997, in the Ashley nursing home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. today, at Zion Lutheran Church, Ashley. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Ashley.

He is survived by one daughter, Delores Kessel of Ashley and Arizona; and one brother, Reinhold, Golden Valley, Minn. (Carlsen Funeral Home, Ashley)

Ethel Bauske
JAMESTOWN -- Ethel Bauske, 84, Jamestown, died May 22, 1997, in a Jamestown hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, at Concordia Lutheran Church, Jamestown. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown.

She is survived by three daughters, Doris Landscoot, Jamestown, Sandra Moran, Spokane, Wash., and Cheryl Hazer, Woodworth; one brother, Harry Bruns, Corning, Calif.; and two sisters, Ione Bong, Yucca, Calif., and Nora Steele, Magalia, Calif. (Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown)

Gene Flanagan
Gene Flanagan, 86, San Pablo, Calif., formerly of Bismarck, died May 18, 1997, in San Pablo. Services were held at St. Callistuas Church, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, both of San Pablo.

He is survived by his wife, Elsie (Randich) Flanagan, San Pablo; one daughter, Iris Loux; and two sons, Michael and Dennis. (Wilson-Kratzar Funeral Home, San Pablo)

ASHLEY -- Ida Pfeifle, 87, Ashley, died May 23, 1997, at her home. Arrangements are pending with Carlsen Funeral Home, Ashley.

Peter Wilt
Peter Wilt, 81, 220 S. Griffin St., died May 24, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Arrangements are pending at Boelter Funeral Home.

Oscar Huus
PARSHALL -- Oscar Horan Huus, 58, Grafton, formerly of Parshall, died May 23, 1997, in Grafton. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson Funeral Home, Parshall, with burial in Parshall Cemetery.

He is survived by one brother, Gordon, Parshall; and three sisters, Donna Bosman, Grand Forks, Lorraine Gunstenson, Fargo, and Ardyce Haugen, Bismarck.

Dagny Swanson
UNDERWOOD -- Dagny Swanson, 88, Underwood, died May 23, 1997, in the Underwood nursing home. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Augustana Lutheran Church, Underwood, with burial in Underwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m.-noon Tuesday at Goetz Funeral Home, Underwood, and will continue at the church one hour before services.

Dagny Doris Miller was born July 18, 1908, in Underwood, with Fred and Mamie (Rooker) Miller. She grew up on her parents' farm one mile north of Underwood. She attended Underwood School and graduated from Underwood High School in 1927. She then attended Minot State College. She married Arthur Swanson Dec. 6, 1928, in Fargo. They made their home on a farm southwest of Underwood, where they farmed until retiring in 1970. They moved into Underwood at that time. Mr. Swanson died in August 1981. She became a resident of Prairieview Nursing Home in Underwood in December 1991.

She was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church and the church ladies aid, and the Underwood Senior Citizens. Dagny enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and making quilts. She also loved to cook and all her grandchildren.

She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Melvin and Elvera, Kooskia, Idaho, Wallace and Mildred, Turtle Lake, and Russell, Underwood; 11 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and four step-great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur; three sisters; three brothers; one granddaughter, Saundra; and one great-granddaughter, Brenda.

August Gomke
August Gomke, 88, Bismarck, died May 24, 1997, in the Glen Ullin nursing home. Services will be held at 2 p.m MDT Tuesday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Elgin, with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by one son, Arnold, Bismarck; and four daughters, Marion Gomke and Nyla Kilbur, both of Bismarck, Mavis Bare, Pocatello, Idaho, and Ellen Friedrich, New Ulm, Minn. (Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home, Elgin)

Arthur Antonson
HALLIDAY -- Arthur Antonson, 80, Halliday, died May 23, 1997, in the Dickinson hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. MDT Tuesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Halliday. Further arrangements are pending at Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson.

John Wangler
LINTON -- John A. Wangler, 80, Linton, died May 24, 1997, in the Strasburg nursing home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Linton, with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Clara; two sons, John, Linton, and Louis, Elkhart, Ind.; one daughter, Elizabeth Wangler, Linton; one brother, Wendolyn, Bismarck; and one sister, Agatha Wangler, Napoleon. (Myers Funeral Home, Linton)

Magdalena Keifer
Magdalena A. Keifer, 81, Bismarck, died May 24, 1997, in a Bismarck nursing home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Ascension Catholic Church, Bismarck. Further arrangements are pending at Myers Funeral Home, Linton.

Edward Scheeler
DICKINSON -- Edward J. Scheeler, 81, Dickinson, died May 24, 1997, in the Dickinson hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Dickinson, with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Stella; eight daughters, Jackie Henderschott, Carrollton, Texas, Paulette Hall, Liverpool, N.Y., Linda Meyer, Lawrence, Kan., Carla Kolling, Bismarck, Nancy Nelson, Dickinson, Pam Zierolf, Rock Springs, Wyo., Jody Dolechek, Dickinson, Tracy Arndorfer, Kalamzoo, Mich.; two sons, Rick and Pat, both of Dickinson; two sisters, Lillian Heaton, Ellensburg, Wash., and Hilda Garde Scheeler, Dickinson; and one brother, Leonard, Dickinson. Mack Faulkner
ALEXANDER -- Mack Faulkner, 69, Alexander, died May 23, 1997, in the Williston nursing home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church, Watford City. Further arrangements are pending at Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City.

Leonard Hagen
EPPING -- Leonard Hagen, 63, Epping, died of cancer, May 25, 1997, at his home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church, Williston. Further arrangements are pending at Everson Funeral Home, Williston.

John Schneider
John P. Schneider Jr., 47, Fargo, died May 25, 1997, at his home of natural causes. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Charles Backes officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. today at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, where a Catholic Daughters rosary will be said at 4 p.m. today. A parish vigil will begin at 7:30 tonight at the funeral home.

John was born Sept. 28, 1949, at Dickinson to John P. and Caroline (Dassinger) Schneider. He was raised and educated at Mandan and graduated from Mandan High School in 1968. He attended Wahpeton State School of Science and Dickinson State College, where he received training as a truck driver. He worked for Missouri Valley Meat Co. in Mandan for several years after high school and then was a truck driver for Berg Trucking Co. of Fargo.

He is survived by two daughters, Rebecca and Elizabeth Schneider, both of Bismarck; his mother, Caroline Schneider, Mandan; one brother, Tom, Mandan; two sisters, Jane Masseth, Mandan, and Judi Albers, Reston, Va.; and his grandmother, Anna Schneider, Bemidji, Minn.

He was preceded in death by one son, Ryan; one daughter, Julie; and his father, John Sr.

Magdelena Kiefer
HAGUE -- Magdalena Kiefer, 81, Bismarck, died May 24, 1997, in a Bismarck nursing home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Ascension Catholic Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Marvin Klemmer officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery, rural Hague.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday at Myers Funeral Home, Linton, and will continue after 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church. A prayer service and rosary will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

Magdalena was born Sept. 15, 1915, on a farm near Zeeland, the daughter of John and Maryann (Schumacher) Jangula. She attended a rural school. On Nov. 5, 1934, she married Anton Kiefer at St. John's Catholic Church, Zeeland. They farmed northeast of Hague. Mr. Kiefer died in 1969. She moved into Linton in 1970. One year later she moved to Bismarck, where she worked as a housekeeper at St. Mary's Parish House. She entered St. Vincent's Nursing Home in June 1995.

She was very active in the Altar Society and Homemakers. She loved music and crafts.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Leo and Angie, Fargo, Richard and Delli, El Toro, Calif., and Florian and Marian, Bismarck; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jennie and Joe Masseth, Bismarck, and Maryann and Carroll Hildebrandt, Garden Grove, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Adam, Rapid City, and Steve, Menifee, Calif.; and one sister, Elizabeth Feist, Bismarck.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters.

Gustave Hermann
DICKINSON -- Gustave Hermann, 79, Dickinson, died May 24, 1997, in his home. Services will be at 10 a.m. MDT Wednesday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dickinson. Further arrangements are pending at Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson.

Florence Anton
DICKINSON -- Florence Anton, 73, Dickinson, died May 26, 1997, in the Dickinson hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. MDT Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Dickinson. Further arrangements are pending at Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson.

Ruby Sorensen
GARRISON -- Ruby Sorensen, 76, Garrison, died May 26, 1997, in the Garrison nursing home. Arrangements are pending at Thompson Funeral Home, Garrison.

Lorenzo McCoy
MCCLUSKY -- Lorenzo McCoy, 97, Escalon, Calif., died Dec. 25, 1996. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at McClusky Cemetery.

Theodore Dockter
Memorial services for the Rev. Theodore O. Dockter, 64, Rockford, Ohio, formerly of Ashley, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chattanooga, Ohio, with burial in the church cemetery. He died May 23, 1997 in a Coldwater, Ohio, hospital. (Carlsen Funeral Home, Ashley)

BOWMAN -- Bert L. Patterson, 77, Bowman, died May 25, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. MDT Wednesday at Bowman Lutheran Church, with burial in Bowman Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Janice; one son, Everett, Wright, Wyo.; three sisters, Viola Homiston, Arnegard, Beverly Crocker, Bowman, and Gerri Solberg, Grand Forks; and three brothers, Marvin, Albuquerque, N.M., and Virgil and Eldon, both of Bowman. (Krebsbach Funeral Service)
