He is survived by one son, Tom, Evergreen, Colo.; three daughters, Carol Mehlhaff, Minneapolis, Genevieve Burk, Santa Barbara, Calif., and Judy Henn, Bismarck; four brothers, David, Lodi, Calif., Norman, Fargo, Jonathon, Huron, S.D., and Leonard, Gaithersburg, Md.; and four sisters, Esther Arlt, Ipswich, S.D., Lydia Zimmerman, Lodi, and Ida Hagel and Martha Kramer, both of Wishek. Anna Bendish
Anna Bendish, 89, Washburn, died May 29, 1997, in Washburn. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Mandan.

Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. today at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, where a Catholic Daughters rosary will be said at 4 p.m. today. A St. Anne's Altar Society rosary will be said at 6:30 tonight, followed by a parish vigil at 7.

NEW ENGLAND -- Irving Leslie Dubisar, 71, New England, died May 27, 1997, in a Dickinson nursing home. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. MDT Saturday at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church, New England, with burial in New England Cemetery.

He is survived by his mother, Susan Dubisar; four brothers, George, Sioux Falls, S.D., Roland, New England, John, Coos Bay, Ore., and Wesley, Elba, Ala.; and one sister, Iola Dubisar, New England. (Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson)

She is survived by three sons, Raymond, South Heart, Adrian, Dickinson, and Gerald, Redmond, Wash.; one daughter, Caroline Dukart, Mesa, Ariz.; three brothers, Valentine Praus, Bismarck, Joe Praus, Dickinson, and Frank Praus, Devils Lake; and four sisters, Margaret Kudrna, South Heart, Dorothy Zentner, Bismarck, Pat Croston, Billings, and Josephine Wagner, Ellendale. Kimberly Ann Zay Zay, 27, Brooklyn Park, Minn., died May 28, 1997, in Minnesota. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Wilton, with burial in Baldwin Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today, and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Boelter Funeral Home, Bismarck, and will continue from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the church. A vigil and rosary will begin at 7 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Barbara Schrenk
Barbara Schrenk, 91, 1208 24th St. N.W., Mandan, formerly of Baldwin, died May 28, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Seventh-day Adventist Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Ray Kelch officiating. Burial will be in Baldwin Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday at Boelter Funeral Home, and will continue at the church one hour before services.

Barbara was born Sept. 2, 1905, in Oliver County, the daughter of John and Margaret (Baerg) Wiebe. She was raised and educated in Oliver County, and attended country schools. She married Rudolph Schrenk, Oct. 30, 1925, in Bismarck. He died Sept. 28, 1991.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Alfred and Evangelyn "Evey," Robinson; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Helen and Otto Gussner, Mandan, Betty and Bob Belmont, Lincoln, Neb., Winona and Emil Rodacker, Jamestown, and Ruth Schrenk, Mandan; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Klein, Lincoln, Neb., and Elizabeth Baltrusch, Walla Walla, Wash.; and one brother, George, Lakeview, Ore.

In addition to her husband, Rudolph, who died Sept. 28, 1991, she was preceded in death by one son, Donald; and a number of brothers and sisters.

Cordelia Jordan
Cordelia Jordan, 89, Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, died May 29, 1997, in the nursing home where she had been a resident since March 3, 1986. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center Chapel, with the Rev. Steve Sathre officiating. Burial will be in Driscoll Township Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to noon Monday at Boelter Funeral Home, and will continue at the chapel one hour before services.

Cordelia was born March 27, 1908, at Driscoll, the daughter of Alpheus and Mary (Huber) Jordan. She was raised and educated in Driscoll, graduating from Driscoll High School. She began working at the local post office, where she remained for the next 10 years. Cordelia moved to Bismarck in 1936, where during one hail season, she worked for the Hail Insurance Department. She then worked for the State Tax Department from 1937 until her retirement in 1973.

She is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Huber and Pearl, Green Bay, Wis.; two nieces and their spouses, Marty and Brian Van Hout, and Karen and Keith Hutchinson, all of Green Bay; one grandniece, Marla Hutchinson; and two grandnephews, Aaron and John Van Hout, Green Bay; and good friends, Leo and Irene McCloskey.

A special thank you to her friends and staff at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center.

Ernest Dallman
Ernest H. Dallmann, 77, Mandan, formerly of Edgeley, died May 30, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 5 p.m. today at Messiah Lutheran Church, Mandan, with the Rev. James A. Baneck officiating. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Edgeley, with the Rev. Toby Heller officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, and will continue at the church one hour before services.

Ernest was born July 13, 1919, at Edgeley, the son of Fritz and Kathrina (Hehr) Dallmann. He was educated in rural Edgeley schools and attended Edgeley High School He married Hulda Giesler, July 9, 1944, in Edgeley. They farmed the same farm he was born and raised on. Retiring in 1988, they continued to live on the farm until they moved to Mandan two years ago. He was a supervisor for LaMoure County Soil Conservation District for 30 years, for Glenmore Township and for the RC&D. Ernest and Hulda celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1994. He was an active member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he served in many capacities.

He is survived by his wife, Hulda; two daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and John Holeton Sr., Mandan, and Sandra and Thomas Mathson, Morton, Ill.; six grandchildren, Ed, Amanda, April, Bradford, Antoinette and Joshua; five great-grandchildren; and one brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Elsie, The Dalles, Ore.

Anna Bendish
Anna M. Bendish, 89, Washburn, formerly of the Fort Rice area, died May 29, 1997, at her daughter's home in Washburn. Services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Church of St. Joseph, Mandan, with the Rev. Leonard Eckroth officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Fort Rice.

Anna was born March 21, 1908, in St. Johan, Austria. She came to the United States with her parents, John and Theresa (Balkowitsch) Rebenitsch, May 10, 1910. She was raised in the Fort Rice area and attended schools there. On April 20, 1938, she married John Bendish in Fort Rice.

Anna was a member of Homemakers Club in Huff, St. Anne's Altar Society of Huff, and Catholic Daughters.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Arnold and Sharon, and Richard and Mary, all of Fort Rice; four daughters and sons-in-law, Agnes and Harley Jennings, Washburn, Gladys and Alton Bauer, Herreid, S.D., Carol and Donald Hatzenbuhler, Solen, and Rita and Gordon Cermak, Beulah; 25 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike and Evelyn, Green Bay, Wis., and Leonard and Lucy, Fort Rice.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her mother was killed in a tornado on the same day Anna died in 1953 -- May 29 at Fort Rice; her husband; four brothers, John, Paul, Joseph and Carl; and three sisters, Theresa, Kate and Agnes.

Robert Kjonaas
Robert A. Kjonaas, 74, Bismarck, died May 28, 1997, in the Mandan hospital. The family will hold a private memorial service.

Robert was born June 22, 1922, in Kenmare, the son of Swen and Claudia (Russell) Kjonaas. He lived in Coulee and then Leeds, where he completed high school. Robert then joined Company D of the 164th Infantry of the North Dakota National Guard. The unit was activated in February 1941 and was sent to Camp Claiborne, La. for training. During World War II, Robert was in the Southwest Pacific Theatre and saw action on Guadalcanal and Bouganville of the Soloman Islands and in Leyte, Cebu and Negros of the Philippine Islands.

After the war, Robert entered college and was then recalled by the Army in 1947 and was placed on a Competitive Tour program, receiving and Army commission in 1948. In 1948 he was united in marriage to Donna Frost.

During the Korean War, Robert commanded Company B of the 9th Infantry (Second Division). His unit was given official credit for being the first United Nations force to actively engage Chinese Communist forces when they crossed the Yalu River into North Korea. He retired from the Army as a Major in 1962. In January 1965, Robert joined National Farmers Union Property and Casualty Company as a resident adjuster in Bismarck. He became area claims supervisor in 1981 and retired in January 1984.

Robert was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Christine, Hutchinson, Minn., and Robert B. and Britta Renstrom, Middleton, Wis.; two granddaughters, Stephanie and Angela, Hutchinson; one grandson, Eric, Middleton; three sisters, Margaret Hedlund, Dent, Minn., Claudia Tischman, Belvidere, Ill., and Marilyn Sorenson, Reno, Nev.; and nieces and nephews. Anna Carroll
DICKINSON -- Anna Marie Carroll, 92, Dickinson, died May 2, 1997, in Jackson, Miss. Services will be at 10 a.m. MDT Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Dickinson. Further arrangements are pending at Mischel-Olson Chapel, Dickinson.

Merci Baker
NEW TOWN -- Merci Mae Baker, the infant daughter of James and Delphine Baker, died April 30, 1997, at her home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, New Town, with burial in Riverview Cemetery, New Town.

She is survived by her parents; two sisters, Tesea and Jesse, both at home; one brother, James, at home; and her grandparents, John and Teresa Danks, New Town, and Almeda Baker. (Johnson Funeral Home, New Town)

Darlene Bierwagen
ELGIN -- Darlene Bierwagen, 48, Gillette, Wyo., died of breast cancer in Gillette.

She is survived by her husband, Clif; one daughter, Rachelle Winfrey, Gillette; one daughter, Jackie, Lihue, Hawaii; her parents, Norman and Lorraine Roe, Morristown; and her sister, Renae Livermore, Rawlins, Wyo.

Roberta Peterson
Roberta B. Peterson, 60, 1503 Second Ave. N.W., Mandan, died May 2, 1997, at her home. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Church of St. Joseph, Mandan, with the Rev. Robert E. Feeney officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, where a rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday, followed by a parish vigil at 7:30. Visitation will continue Monday at the funeral home.

Roberta was born June 2, 1936, in Mandan, the daughter of Michal J. and Magdalena (Helbling) Lanz. She was raised and educated in Mandan. Roberta was a member of the Cash Count Team for Cystic Fibrosis for five years.

She is survived by four sons and one daughter-in-law, David Wahl and Kyle Peterson, both of Mandan, Sean Wahl, Springfield, Mo., and Steve and Bea Wahl, Robstowne, Texas; four daughters and one son-in-law, Connie and Dan Kraft, Carrie Trehus, Laura Wahl, all of Mandan, and Shelley Wahl, St. Peter, Minn.; five grandchildren; one brother, Leo Lanz, Mandan; two sisters, Josephine Meyer, Corona, Calif., and Pauline Rothschillar, Huntington Beach, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 10 brothers and sisters.

Walter Leroy
UNDERWOOD -- Walter Leroy, 89, Underwood, died May 3, 1997, in the Underwood nursing home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Alexander Presbyterian Church, Underwood. Further arrangements are pending with Goetz Funeral Home, Underwood.

Dean LaFromboise
Dean E. LaFromboise, 30, 703 Sixth Ave. S.E. C-16, Mandan, died May 1, 1997, in the Mandan hospital of cancer. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Belcourt, with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Gale, Mandan; one daughter, Whitney, at home; one brother, Dave, Mandan; and one sister, Laurie LaRocque, St. John. (Niewoehner Funeral Home, Inc., Rolla)
