Dora Two Bears
CANNON BALL -- Dora Two Bears, 92, Cannon Ball, died May 3, 1997, in a Mobridge, S.D., nursing home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. James Episcopal Church, Cannon Ball, with the Rev. John Floberg officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday at Perry Funeral Home, Mandan, and will continue after 4 p.m. Thursday at the Cannon Ball School Gym. A wake service will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday at the school gym. All denominations welcome.

Dora was born Nov. 4, 1904, at Breien. She was raised in the Solen and Cannon Ball areas, and attended school at Bismarck Indian School. She married Joseph Two Bears at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Cannon Ball, in 1921. They lived in the Bismarck area for many years. She worked at the Sweet Shop in Bismarck and the White Star Cafe in Mandan. Her husband died in 1967. She continued to live in the area until 1974, when she moved back to the Cannon Ball area.

She was a 50-year member of Solen American Legion Auxiliary. She was very proud that her husband served in World War I and her son, Gilbert, served in World War II and captured six German soldiers. Her son, Patrick, served in the Navy during World War II and in the Army in Korea. Her son, Neil, served in Korea and a great-grandson, Ray, served in the Persian Gulf War. Besides her own six children, she also raised six of her grandchildren, Leonica Alkire, Selfridge, Joe Two Bear, Cannon Ball, Maynard Two Bear and Kenneth Two Bear, both of Bismarck, Ray Steve Glaser, Fargo, and Mathilda Two Bear, deceased.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin Tail Seewalker and Annie Welch; two sisters, Daisy Day and Eva Koch; two brothers, George and Jerry Seewalker; one son, Gilbert Two Bears; one daughter, Marie Conica; two infant children; and four grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Monica One Horn, Cannon Ball, and Verna and John Ermineskin, Hobbema, Alberta; two sons, Patrick Two Bears, Mobridge, and Neil Two Bears, Fort Yates; one sister, Rose Goodleft, Fort Yates; 18 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Emil Wolf
BEULAH -- Emil C. Wolf, 84, Beulah, died May 5, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. MDT Friday at Zion Lutheran Church, Beulah, with the Rev. Kris Nyman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation hours will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Seibel Funeral Home, Beulah.

Emil was born Oct. 28, 1912, on the family farm north of Hazen, a son of Joseph and Salomina (Mueller) Wolf. He was raised and educated north of Hazen. After school Emil moved to Fairview, Mont., where he worked in the sugarbeet fields, as well as sheepherding. In the late 1930s, he moved back to north of Hazen to help out on the family farm. On Nov. 6, 1941, Emil married Hannah Schopp at Zion Lutheran Church, Beulah. They farmed north of Beulah until 1946 when they moved into Beulah and have lived since. Emil worked in the underground mines of Knife River Coal Mine until 1952 when he went to work on the Garrison Dam project. After completion of the Garrison Dam, Emil began working as a carpenter locally and at the Minot Air Force Base. After a severe injury during the Minot Air Force Base construction, Emil went to work for the State Highway Department Maintenance Crew in the Beulah area. Emil retired in 1978 and operated his own little bait shop in Beulah for 10 years. Hannah died June 18, 1996. Emil enjoyed woodworking, gardening, tinkering around the home and antique tool restoration.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Beulah, Germans from Russia, served on the church council and volunteered his services for the needs of the church. Emil always maintained a special bond with his wife, children and grandchildren.

He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Glenton and Cheryl, Grand Forks, Walter and Sarah, Center, and Donald and Soledad, Beulah; five grandchildren, Kurtiss Wolf, Milwaukee, Wis., Chad Wolf, of the USS Kittyhawk CV-63 San Diego, Calif., Martina and Erika Wolf, Center, and Philip Wolf, Beulah; one brother, Erwin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Emil was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Hannah; two sisters, Anna and Bertha; and one brother, Otto.

Lettie Wilson
WATFORD CITY -- Lettie Wilson, 74, Watford City, died May 4, 1997, in the Williston hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church, Watford City, with burial in Schafer Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Cecil; three sons, Cecil Jr. and LeRoy, both of Watford City, and Larry, Williston; six daughters, Carolyn McNamara and Loretta McNamara, both of Hazen, Cecilia Stenseth, Denver, Lettie Tangedal, Williston, Jeannie Fallert, Dove Canyon, Calif., and Leanna Lee, Casper, Wyo. Lois Klatt
NEW SALEM -- Lois Marion Klatt, 73, Miles City, Mont., died May 5, 1997, in the Billings, Mont. hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. MDT Friday at Zion Lutheran Church, New Salem, with burial in Graceland Cemetery, New Salem.

She is survived by her husband, Carl; two sons, Rick, New Salem, and Bruce, Billings; and two daughters, Betty Toepke and Debby Lester, both of Miles City. (Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home, Miles City)

Viola Mooers
Viola Mooers, 83, Seattle, formerly of Almont, died May 2, 1997, in Seattle. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. MDT Friday at Sims Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. CDT Thursday at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan.

Don Perron
MOBRIDGE, S.D. -- Don Perron, 77, Mobridge, died May 6, 1997, in the Mobridge hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Mobridge, with burial in Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary; three daughters, Mary Olsen, Sioux Falls, Anne Perron, Great Falls, Mont., and Elizabeth Stangl, Aberdeen; and one sister, LeEtta Mulloy, Duluth, Minn. (Larson's Funeral Home, Mobridge)

Magdalen Miller
Magdalen Miller, 93, St. Vincent's Nursing Home, Bismarck, died May 5, 1997, in the nursing home. Arrangements are pending at Boelter Funeral Home.

Edsel Anderson
WILTON -- Edsel R. Anderson, 70, Wilton, died May 6, 1997, in his home after a long illness. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Sunne Lutheran Church, Wilton, with the Rev. Paul Schauer officiating. Burial will be in Sunne Lutheran Cemetery, Wilton, with military rites provided by American Legion Post No. 163, Wilton.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Bismarck Funeral Home, and will continue at the church one hour before services.

Edsel Anderson was born April 18, 1927, in Trygg Township of Burleigh County, to John E. and Hulda (Strom) Anderson. Edsel and his family moved to Bismarck when he was 9. He graduated from Bismarck High School in 1944 and he and his twin brother enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Edsel served in the Pacific Theater until his discharge in 1946. He then attended Bismarck Junior College and graduated in 1948. He took a position with the U.S. Postal Service in Wilton and served as a rural letter carrier for 36 years until ill health forced his retirement on June 1, 1983.

Edsel served five years on the State Board of North Dakota Rural Letter Carriers Association and served as state president for two years. Edsel was an active member of American Legion Post No. 163 in Wilton. He was honored by the post with a life membership in 1982. Edsel served on the Wilton School Board for 15 years and was then appointed to the McLean County Special Education Board where he served for 10 years. He was active in community affairs in Wilton, and was a member of Wilton Get-To-Gether Club, the Sportsman's Club and a was a charter member of Wilton Lions. Edsel was a member of Sunne Lutheran Church. He enjoyed spending his leisure time with friends and family through hunting and fishing.

Edsel married Pearl Duma, May 11, 1950, in Wilton.

He is survived by his wife, Pearl; three daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Joe Brinster, Marietta, Ohio, Deborah and Richard Strand, Wilton, and Karla and Tom Ross, Minot; five grandchildren, Austin and Aaron Brinster, Lindsey and Kirk Strand, and McKenzie Ross; his twin brother, Edgar, Wilton; and two sisters, Edna Lindquist, Santa Cruz, Calif., and Helen Lunde, San Francisco.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Floyd; and three sisters, Irene Anderson, Hazel Little and Ethel Anderson, who died in infancy.

In lieu of flowers, it was Edsel's wish that memorials be given to Sunne Lutheran Church, Wilton.

Magdalen Miller
Magdalen Miller, 93, St. Vincent's Nursing Home, died May 5, 1997, in the nursing home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, Bismarck, with the Rev. Thomas E. Kramer officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck.

Visitation is ongoing at Boelter Funeral Home, where a rosary will be said at 7 tonight.

Magdalen was born Feb. 18, 1904, on the family farm south of Napoleon, the daughter of Frank and Marcelene (Goetz) Braun. She grew up and attended Logan County schools. She came to Bismarck and worked at St. Alexius Hospital. In 1954, she married Ignatz Miller. He died in 1955.

She is survived by four brothers, Jacob and George, both of Bismarck, Martin, Ely, Nev., and Clem, Grand Coulee, Wash.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.

Frances Dauenhauer
Frances Dauenhauer, 68, beloved wife and mother, 701 Third St. S.W., Mandan, died of cancer May 7, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Christ the King Church, Mandan, with the Revs. Albert Leary and John Kuhn officiating. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, where a Catholic Daughters rosary will be said at 4 p.m. today. A parish rosary will begin at 7:30 tonight, followed by a St. Anthony Verein rosary at 8, both at the funeral home.

Frances (Schwartzbauer) Dauenhauer was born March 31, 1929, in Bismarck, the daughter of George and Louise (Gartner) Schwartzbauer. She attended school in St. Anthony. She married Eugene Dauenhauer, Oct. 27, 1952, in St. Anthony Catholic Church, St. Anthony. They have lived in Mandan for 45 years.

Frances worked for Christ the King Church for several years, did interior house painting and worked at the country club and Seven Seas in Mandan.

She loved to fish and enjoyed playing cards with her neighborhood friends. She was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed working with her husband, Gene, in their yard and flower garden, and also doing woodworking crafts in their home.

Frances is survived by her husband, Gene; one son, Daryl, Mandan; her mother, Louise Schwartzbauer, Mandan; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Bertha, George and Alice, and Richard and Shirley, all of Mandan; one sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Larry "Art" Swap, Mandan; and several nieces and nephews, all of Mandan.

She was preceded in death by her father, George Schwartzbauer, who died in 1970; and one infant brother, Edward, who died at birth.

LaMoure Jennings
WASHBURN -- LaMoure W. Jennings, 63, Washburn, died May 6, 1997, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at United Methodist Church, Washburn, with burial in Riverview Cemetery, Washburn.

Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Friday at Goetz Funeral Home, Washburn.

LaMoure was born March 15, 1934, near Washburn, to Samuel and Mary (Hruby) Jennings. He attended rural schools and graduated from Washburn High School in 1952. He then attended a short course at North Dakota Agricultural College in Fargo. He farmed and ranched with his father east of Washburn. On Dec. 20, 1953, he married Marvadean Kost at Washburn. They made their home on a farm 10 miles east of Washburn where they farmed and ranched. She died in 1990. He continued to make his home on the farm.

LaMoure was a charter member of Washburn FFA. He enjoyed working with his cattle, hunting, enjoying and telling a good story. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren and attending all their sports and music activities.

He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Colette and Pablo Ronderos, Washburn; three grandchildren, Pablo, David and Andrea Ronderos; his mother, Mary Jennings, Washburn; one brother and sister-in-law, Harley and Agnes, Washburn; 11 nieces and nephews; and 11 grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and his wife.

Myrtle Christenson
WASHBURN -- Myrtle M. Christenson, 86, Washburn, died May 6, 1997, in a Bismarck nursing home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Birka Lutheran Church, rural Washburn, with the Rev. Todd Hylden officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today at Goetz Funeral Home, Washburn, and will continue at the church one hour before services.

Myrtle Marie Lundberg was born Nov. 2, 1910, at rural Washburn, to Albert and Anna (Bundegard) Lundberg. She grew up on her parents' farm west of Washburn where she attended rural school. She married Jens C. Christenson, March 2, 1934, at Underwood. They lived and farmed near Falkirk for one year and then moved to Oak Harbor, Wash. They returned to North Dakota a year later to farm near Falkirk. In 1943, they move to Washburn where they made their home. Jens died Nov. 30, 1979. Myrtle continued to make her home in Washburn, where she enjoyed making quilts for the family, raising and caring for her fruit trees and canning.

She was a member of Washburn Senior Citizens. She moved to St. Vincent's Care Center on March 3, 1997.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Robert Roach, Merrifield, Minn.; one son and daughter-in-law, Melvin and Ardith, Bloomington, Minn.; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Pearl Lundberg, Bismarck; and one brother, R.M. Lundberg, Bismarck.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Myrtle; and one brother, Norman.

Vieno Lehto
Graveside services for Vieno Lehto will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Ahola Cemetery, Wing. Lunch will follow at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Wing. (Boelter Funeral Home)

Caroline Henke
Caroline Henke, 95, Bismarck Baptist Home, died May 7, 1997, in the nursing home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Bismarck Baptist Home Chapel. Further arrangements are pending at Boelter Funeral Home.

Beverly Zeh
Beverly C. Zeh, 74, 1441 Richmond Drive, died May 7, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Arrangements are pending at Eastgate Funeral Service.

Ruth McLean
ELGIN -- Ruth M. McLean, 87, Elgin, died May 7, 1997, in the Elgin nursing home. Arrangements are pending at Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home, Elgin.

Helen Kuntz
DICKINSON -- Helen Kuntz, 87, Dickinson, died May 7, 1997, in the Dickinson hospital. Services will be at 1 p.m. MDT Friday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson, with burial in the church cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, John; two daughters, Pauline Appledoorn, Gladstone, and Irene Hamilton, Dickinson; and one sister, Josephine Stein, Dickinson. (Mischel-Olson Chapel, Dickinson)

Magdalene Honeymann
NEW ENGLAND -- Magdalene Honeymann, 93, New England, died May 5, 1997, in the Dickinson hospital. Services will be at 3 p.m. MDT Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, New England, with burial in the church cemetery.

She is survived by seven daughters, Sue Brooks, Couer d' Alene, Idaho, Caroline Camp, Covington, Pa., Arlene Olsby, Alderwood Manor, Wash., Yvonne Fettig, New England, JoAnn Edwards, Lakeview, Ore., Mary Ann Kelly, Klamath Falls, Ore., and Kathy Heck, Avon, Minn.; two sons, Richard, Glendive, Mont., and Vern, New England. Emil Miller
CARSON -- Emil Miller, 85, Carson, died May 8, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10-30 a.m. MDT Saturday, at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, Carson, with the Rev. Kenneth Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Carson Community Cemetery. Rosary service will be at the church Friday at 7:30 p.m MDT.

Emil was born March 23, 1912 on the family homestead in Raleigh, to Max and Eva (Winter) Miller. He was raised in the St. Gertrudes area, attending school in Raleigh. On Nov. 20, 1934 he married Frances Tischmak at St. Gabrial Catholic Church in Shields. After marriage they moved to the Raleigh area, and in 1944 they moved south of Carson and farmed. In June of 1959 they moved into Carson where Emil worked at local taverns and did commercial painting. In 1964 he started as a custodian at the Roosevelt Public School in Carson, retiring in 1984 after 20 years.

Emil was a school board member of the Brisbane School and a member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church. He enjoyed camping, fishing, playing cards, driving to his grandson's farm and visiting with family, relatives and friends.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Frances; five sons and four daughters-in-law, Richard, and Norman and Mayvonne, all of Carson, James and Donna, and Theodore and Sharon, all of Mandan, and Ronald and Kelly, Glasgow, Mont.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Marjorie and Lyle Hartman, Mandan, Marie and Ronald Bieber, Wall, S.D., and Elaine Ehleringer, Carson; 12 grandsons; 11 granddaughters; five step-grandsons; two step-granddaughters; 24 great grandchildren; 10 step-great grandchildren; one brother, Engelbert, Mandan; five sisters, Dorothy Hersche, Verna Hersche and Sally Christel, all of Casselton, Evelyn Ruscheinsky, Fargo, and Phil (Max) Ruscheinsky, Carson; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Roger; and two brothers, Max and John. (Hertz Brothers Funeral Home, New Leipzig)
