Services were held Oct. 22, 2001, in Portland Ore. with Pastor Larry Rolfing of St. Peter the Fisherman Lutheran Church of Lincoln City, Ore. Officiating.
Harry Edwin Clifton was born July 31, 1921 in Maddock, ND, the son of Ingwald and Bertha (Stromberg) Clifton. He moved to Portland, Ore., in 1944, where he met and married his lovely wife Doris "Dori" Yale on Feb. 14, 1945. They returned to Devils Lake from 1946-1953. Their daughter, Nancy, was born in Devils Lake in 1951. They moved back to Oregon, where he worked as a mechanic. He retired from Pacific Motor Trucking as a superintendent in 1984. They moved to the Oregon coast where they lived until she passed away in 1994. He spent a brief time in Southern California before returning to Portland for his last year. He was very active in Hospice. He was a hospital volunteer for the Lincoln City Oregon Hospital and the Pleasant Valley Hospital in Camarillo, Calif. He volunteered as an ambassador for St. Peter the Fisherman Lutheran Church and welcomed new members to the church.
