Lillian Clizbe
Lillian Watson Clizbe, 90, a former Burleigh County resident, died Aug. 30, 1997, in Mount Vernon, Wash. Services will be held Saturday in Mount Vernon.

Lillian was born July 2, 1907, in Bismarck, the daughter of William L. and Rosa (Kershaw) Watson of McKenzie. She was educated in McKenzie and Bismarck. She received a teaching degree from Valley City State Teachers College, and taught at Zap, Hazen and Fairview, Mont. In 1934 she married Lloyd Clizbe of the Sibley Butte area and they moved west to Washington in 1936. Mr. Clizbe died in 1957.

She is survived by one son, Duane, Mount Vernon; one daughter, Cleo Shaffer, Morgan Hill, Calif.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Esther Lindrud, Minnesota; and several cousins, nieces and nephews, including Terry Watson, Bismarck.

She was preceded in death by one brother, George Watson; one sister, Frances Wildfang; and her parents. (Kern Funeral Home, Mount Vernon)

Martha Kadrmas
DICKINSON -- Martha Kadrmas, 64, Dickinson, died Sept. 1, 1997, in the Dickinson hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Friday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson, with burial in the church cemetery.

She is survived by nine daughters, Beverly Kadrmas, Dickinson, Nancy Lumpkins, Liberty, Texas, Jamie Cook, Noreen Cook and Kimberly Kadrmas, all of Wichita, Kan., Daphne Hecker, Killdeer, Judy McCoy, Lufkin, Texas, Amy Kadrmas and Leann Kadrmas, both of Fruita, Colo.; two sons, Bruce and Wayne, both of Dickinson; one sister, Hattie Pavlicek, Dickinson; and three brothers, Valentine Kostelecky, Lemmon, S.D., Albert Kostelecky, Dickinson, and William Kostelecky, Richardton. Andrew Kraft
Andrew Kraft, 89, Mandan, died Aug. 31, 1997, in the Mandan hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, with burial in Mandan Union Cemetery.

Visitation will begin one hour before services at the funeral home.

Andrew was born Nov. 9, 1907, near Arena, the son of Andrew and Caroline (Doerr) Kraft. On July 18, 1935, he married Ruth Baumbach.

Andy is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Norman Beyl, Dickinson; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three sisters; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; his parents; three sisters; and three brothers.

Joseph Uhler
HETTINGER -- Joseph F. Uhler, 78, Hettinger, died Aug. 31, 1997, in the Hettinger nursing home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Friday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Hettinger, with burial at 3 p.m. Friday in Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, S.D.

He is survived by his wife, Fern; three sons, Tim, Port Orchard, Wash., and Terry and Steve, both of Gillette, Wyo.; five daughters, Susan Fowler and Stephanie Hack, both of Port Orchard, Barb Wood, Gillette, Wyo., Ginger Keller, Forsyth, Mont., and Kimberly Timm, Hettinger; three sisters, Barbara Card, Chippewa Falls, Wis., Helen Krohelski, Caloma, Wis., and Marion Jendusa, Milwaukee. Rebecca Miller
Rebecca Miller, 29, Watertown, S.D., formerly of Mandan, died Aug. 29, 1997, in Watertown. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Name Catholic Church, Watertown, with burial in Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.

She is survived by three daughters, Katie, Dixie and Daisy, all of Watertown; her parents, Bill and Kay Frost, Watertown; two brothers, Loran Frost, Georgetown, Texas, and Ryan Frost, Temple, Texas; one sister, Mary Frost, Austin, Texas; and her grandmother, Dorothy Andrews, Minot. Mary Olstad
FARGO -- Mary Helen Olstad, 58, Fargo, died Aug. 31, 1997, in her home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Church of the Holy Spirit, Fargo, with burial in Hettinger Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Ted; four sons, John, West Fargo, Daniel, Lumberton, N.C., Thomas, Burnsville, Minn., and Terrence, Chicago; one sister, Marcella Volk, Bismarck; and three brothers, Stanley Wald, Lamoure, and Wolfrom Wald and Francis Wald, both of Dickinson. Roy Hollan
KULM -- Roy Lawrence Hollan, 85, Kulm, died Sept. 1, 1997, in the Wishek nursing home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Kulm, with burial in Kulm Congregational Cemetery.

He is survived by one sister, Mayme Hollan, Tacoma, Wash.

Helmuth Heyne
LINTON -- Helmuth A. Heyne, 81, Linton, died Sept. 2, 1997, in the Linton hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Peace Lutheran Church, Linton, with burial in Linton Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; one daughter, Nina Petersen, Clear Lake, Iowa; one brother, Alfred, Cliffton, Colo.; and two sisters, Amanda Hoff, Linton, and Martha Reuer, Steele. (Myers Funeral Home, Linton)

Porter McNeill
Porter Lowell NcNeill, 87, Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, died Sept. 1, 1997, in the nursing home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center. Further arrangements are pending at Eastgate Funeral Service.

Irene Baier
HAZEN -- Irene Baier, 68, Hazen, died Aug. 31, 1997, in the Hazen hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Thursday at Peace Lutheran Church, Hazen, with the Rev. Walt Wolff officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. today at Seibel Funeral Home, Hazen.

Pallbearers will be Herbert Hintz, Jerry Knoell, Kenneth Hintz, Kenneth Miller, Robert Miller and Leland Oster.

Irene was born Jan. 15, 1929, at Hazen, the daughter of Christian and Pauline (Miller) Knoell. She was raised and educated at Hazen, graduating from Hazen High School in 1947. Irene was a graduate of Bismarck Hospital School of Nursing as a registered nurse. On Oct. 18, 1953, she married Fred Baier at Peace Lutheran Church, Hazen. She worked as a registered nurse at the Hazen Memorial Hospital for 30 years. She owned Irene's Fashions in Hazen for 10 years, following her retirement from the hospital.

Irene was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Hazen. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading, crocheting, needlework, knitting and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Fred; one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Patty, Bottineau; one daughter and son-in-law, Kris and Mike Conroy, Little Canada, Minn.; five grandchildren, Sara, Anne, Marla, Laura and Brian; her brothers, Raymond Knoell, Hazen, and Lawrence Knoell, Brooklyn Park, Minn.; one sister, Jean Bitterman, Port Orchard, Wash.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant brother, Ivan Knoell.

William Kesting
DICKINSON -- William Kesting, 93, Dickinson, died Sept. 5, 1997, in a Dickinson nursing home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. MDT Monday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dickinson. Further arrangements are pending at Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson.

Robert Jensen
MCLAUGHLIN, S.D. -- Robert Jacob Jensen, 17, McLaughlin, died Aug. 30, 1997, in his home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. MDT Tuesday at Little Eagle Nutrition Center, Little Eagle, S.D. Further arrangements are pending at Kesling Funeral Home, Mobridge.

Leonard Belk
Leonard James Belk, 71, Baton Rouge, La., formerly of Bismarck, died Sept. 4, 1997, in his home. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Unitarian Church, Baton Rouge.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; two daughters, Lori Belk, Austin, Texas, and Jan Belk, Baton Rouge; and two sons, Brad and Tom. (Seale Funeral Service, Denham Springs, La.)

Michelle Johnson
ZAP -- Michelle Buchmann Johnson, 26, Zap, died Aug. 26, 1997, in Moorhead, Minn. Services will be held at 11 a.m. MDT today at Concordia Lutheran Church, Beulah, with burial in St. Luke's Cemetery, Zap.

She is survived by two sons, Paul and Anthony, both of Moorhead; her parents, Harold and Arles Buchmann, Zap; and her grandparents, Lillian Buchmann, Bismarck, and Walter and Edith Lapp, Ocean Park, Wash. (Seibel Funeral Home, Beulah)

Violet Goar
WILLISTON -- Violet Goar, 83, Williston, died Sept. 5, 1997, in the Williston hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Everson Memorial Chapel, Williston, with burial in Riverview Cemetery, Williston.

She is survived by six daughters, Janet Williams, Williston, Nyla Dahl, Watford City, Kay Johnson, Arnegard, Linda Ydstie, Williston, Susie Moberg, Carrington, and Judy Lodwig, Williston. (Everson Funeral Home, Williston)

Henry Schroeder
DICKINSON -- Henry C. Schroeder, 80, Dickinson, died Sept. 5, 1997, in his home. Arrangements are pending at Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson.

Eunice Mound
FORT YATES -- Eunice Mound, 55, Fort Yates, died Sept. 4, 1997, in a Mobridge, S.D. hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Episcopal Church, Bullhead, S.D. Further arrangements are pending at Kesling Funeral Home, Mobridge.

Gottlieb Garman
Gottlieb Garman, 83, was born in North Dakota. He died Aug. 18, 1997, in his home in St. Paul, Minn.

He is survived by his wife, Maggie; one daughter, Marcella Hesse; five granddaughters; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lydia Solmonson, Prince Roberts, Wash., and Pauline Colquhoun and Bertha Just, both of Bismarck; one step-brother, John Wohl, Linton; and many nieces and nephews.

Services were held Aug. 21 at Grace Lutheran Church, St. Paul.

Clark Fuehrer
Clark Allen Fuehrer, 45, Longview, Wash., formerly of Bismarck, died Sept. 3, 1997, in a Longview hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Eastgate Funeral Service, with the Rev. Stephen Wishoff officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Clark was born Sept. 20, 1951, in Bismarck, the son of James and Darlene (Klein) Fuehrer. He graduated from Bismarck High School and attended North Dakota State School of Forestry in Bottineau. He and Karla Vogel were married Dec. 15, 1972. From 1972 to 1977, Clark worked as a brakeman for the Soo Line Railroad in Bismarck. He then began a career in the marine business and was the owner of High Desert Marine Service Center.

He was a member of National Rifle Association and an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed boating, hunting and fishing. He was a devoted husband and father with his family the most important part of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Karla; his daughter, Gabrielle, Portland, Ore.; his sons, Matthew and Patrick, both at home; his parents, James and Darlene, Bismarck; one brother, Terry, Bismarck; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

George Novy
George H. Novy, 70, 602 W. Divide Ave., died Sept. 5, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Steve Zastoupil officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Perry Funeral Home, Mandan, where a vigil will begin at 7 p.m. Monday. Visitation will continue at the church one hour before services.

George was born May 16, 1927, at Wing, the son of Joseph and Agnes (Safas) Novy. He grew up and was educated in the Wing area. George had farmed northwest of Wing since the age of 17, and retired in 1995 due to failing health. On Feb. 14, 1981, he married Betty Smith at Corpus Christi Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; two stepdaughters and stepsons-in-law, Diane and Lance Jaeger, Bismarck, and Jolonda and David Guiel, Vancouver; two stepsons, Randy Skaro and Marlyn Skaro, both of Bismarck; one sister, Evelyn Novy, Wing; and one brother, Melvin, Jamestown.

Albert Schmitt
Albert Schmitt, 96, Bismarck, died Sept. 5, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Arrangements are pending at Bismarck Funeral Home.

Audrey Whittey
Audrey M. Whittey, 75, 2901 Winnipeg Drive, died Sept. 4, 1997, at her home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Church of Corpus Christi, Bismarck, with the Rev. Steve Zastoupil officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today at Boelter Funeral Home, where a vigil will begin at 8 tonight.

She was born April 27, 1922, at Fargo, the daughter of Eva and Delthis Lucier. Her husband, Charles, preceded her in death.

Audrey is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law, Karen and Ron Vredenburg, Bismarck, Mary Ann Whittey, Bismarck, Suzanne and Bruce Vix, Rochester, Minn., and Audrey and John Quanrud, Caledonia, Minn.; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Bruce, Neil, and Arther and Karla, all of Bismarck; nine grandchildren, Troy Vredenburg, Cynthia Grove, Kirsten Dvorak, Brandon Whittey, Andrew Vix, Aaron Vix, Catherine Quanrud, Julia Quanrud and Jack Quanrud; and one great-grandson, Taylor Grove.

At the time of her death, Audrey Whittey served as chairman of the board of Corwin Churchill Motors. She had a lifelong interest in education and the arts. She was a charter member of University of Mary Ancilla Club and served on the board of regents of the university. She was a past grand regent of Court Immaculate Conception of Catholic Daughters of America, a member of Current Events Club and served on the board of trustees of the National Dealers Charitable Trust Foundation.

Dr. Terry Hoff
UNDERWOOD -- Dr. Terry L. Hoff, 47, Tempe, Ariz., formerly of Underwood, died Sept. 4, 1997, while jogging near his home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Augustana Lutheran Church, Underwood, with the Rev. Todd Hylden officating. Burial will be in Underwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday at Goetz Funeral Home, Underwood, and will continue at the church one hour before services.

Terry Lee Hoff was born Jan. 28, 1950, at Bismarck, to LeRoy and Mildred (Clark) Hoff. He grew up in Underwood and graduated from Underwood High School in 1968. He then attended and graduated from Dickinson State College in 1972 with a bachelor of science degree in science education. He taught school at Driscoll for one year. He then attended University of North Dakota School of Medicine at Grand Forks and graduated in 1976. He moved to Phoenix and completed his two years of residency at Maricopa County Hospital in the OB/GYN department. In 1978 he opened his own medical practice in Tempe. He married Margie Weir in Dickinson. They lived in Tempe.

He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his special daughters. He was active in his professional organizations and was an avid football fan.

He is survived by two daughters, Taylor and Mary Hoff, both of Phoenix; his parents, LeRoy and Mildred Hoff, Underwood; one brother and sister-in-law, Don and Sharon, Velva; and his nephew, Ryan Hoff, Velva.

Duane Reimer
BOWMAN -- Duane C. Reimer, 59, Bowman, died Sept. 5, 1997, in the Bowman hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Monday at Assembly of God Church, Bowman, with burial in Bowman Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; his mother, Bernice Reimer, Bowman; two sons, Ronald, Bowman, and Steven, Scranton; five daughters, Shirla Wells, Lebanon, N.H., Kathy Winter, Wakefield, Neb., Debbie Reimer, Fargo, Joan Reimer, Bowman, and Kay Reimer, Bowman; and two sisters, Darleen Baird, Spearfish, S.D., and Avid Caron, Scranton.
