HANKINSON -- Corrine O. Stack, 95, Hankinson, died Jan. 12, 1998, in a Wahpeton nursing home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, at Frank Family Funeral Home, Hankinson. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Hankinson.

She is survived by one son, Walter, Bismarck; and one brother, Ernest Thompson, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. (Frank Family Funeral Home, Hankinson)

Leon Shoots the Enemy
Leon Shoots the Enemy, 42, Little Eagle, S.D., died Jan. 9, 1998, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m CST Thursday, at U.C.C. Church, Little Eagle. Burial will be in Shoots the Enemy Family Cemetery, near Little Eagle. Further arrangements are pending with Kesling Funeral Home, Mobridge, S.D.

Pauline Zalesky
DICKINSON -- Pauline Zalesky, 87, Dickinson, died Jan. 13, 1998 in a Dickinson hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MST Friday, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson. Further arrangements are pending with Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson.

Esther Zimmerman
Esther T. Zimmerman, 79, Bismarck, died Jan. 13, 1998, in a local nursing home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. MST Saturday, at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Carson. Further arrangements are pending with Boelter Funeral Home, Bismarck.

Oliver Norheim
MADDOCK -- Oliver Norheim, 85, Maddock, died Jan. 13, 1998, at his home. Arrangements are pending with Nelson Funeral Home, Maddock.

Henry Bahmiller
Henry Bahmiller, 81, Eden Prairie, Minn., died Jan. 1, 1998. Services were recently held and burial was in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.

He is survived by one son, Jerry; two brothers, John, Oakland, Calif., and Theodor, Bismarck; four sisters, Viola Berger, Napa, Calif., Esther Schmidt, Bismarck, Wilma Hixon, Las Vegas, and Lenore Schmidt, Burnsville, Minn.

Magdelena Fix
Magdelena "Lena" E. Fix, 93, St. Vincent's Care Center, Bismarck, died Jan. 14, 1998, in a Bismarck nursing home. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Eastgate Funeral Chapel, Bismarck, with the Capt. Chuck Hendrickson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.

Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Friday and will continue until time of services at Eastgate Funeral Chapel, Bismarck.

Magdelena Elizabeth Ernestine Reetz was born on March 31, 1904, the daughter of August and Ernestine (Krueger) Reetz. She was the second youngest of 12 children.

She was born on a homestead 11 miles northwest of Hebron. Lena graduated from Dickinson Normal School and Bismarck Hospital School of Nursing.

She was married to Roney H. Fix on Oct. 10, 1932. They farmed north of Antelope, and to this union two children were born.

She spent her later years at St. Vincent's Care Center, Bismarck.

Lena is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Francis Fix, Hebron; one daughter, Ella Mae Miller, Bismarck; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roney; her parents; her sisters; her brothers; and one son-in-law, John E. Miller. (Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck)

Einar Jorgenson
WATFORD CITY -- Einar W. Jorgenson, 76, Watford City, died Jan. 10, 1998, at his home. Services will be 2 p.m. today at First Lutheran Church, Watford City, with the Rev. Thomas Stenzel officiating. Burial will be in Johnson Corners Cemetery, east of Watford City, with military honors.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until noon today at Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City, and for one hour prior to services at the church today.

Einar was born March 2, 1921, in Keene, the son of Gustav and Serena (Volden) Jorgenson. He was raised southwest of Keene on a farm and ranch with his parents, who were both originally from Oslo, Norway, and had homesteaded in the Keene area in 1900.

Einar worked farming and breaking horses in the area and for a while in California with his brother, George. Einar entered the U.S. Navy in February of 1944, and served in the occupational forces in Japan. He was honorably discharged in May of 1946.

On August 28, 1952, he was married to Ann (Signalness) Van Dyke. They had one son, William Einar.

Einar worked at the Bar U ranch for a time and at Ekland Brothers Trucking until 1967, when they bought Louis and Kathryn Signalness' Bar U Ranch.

Einar and Ann operated the ranch and did contract pumping and service work in the Bear Den Oil field, located on the ranch until 1989, when they moved to Watford City. They both continued to be active in the ranch until their deaths. Ann passed away on October 12, 1996.

Einar enjoyed his family and friends, riding good horses and having a good herd of cows.

Einar was a member of the American Legion Post No. 29, Watford City, the 50 years in the Saddle Club and the North Dakota Stockmen's Association.

He is survived by one son, William Einar and his wife, Pamela Jorgenson and one granddaughter, Samantha Jo Jorgenson, all of rural Watford City; one step-daughter, Kay and her husband Alvin Nelson, rural Grassy Butte; three step-sons, Walton and his wife, Andrea Van Dyke, Watford City, James and his wife, Karen Van Dyke, Edina, Minn., and Victor and his wife, Bobbi Van Dyke, Prescott, Ariz.; eight grandchildren, Louis, Idene, Jay, Jesse, Kelly, Jennifer, Jackie and Leah; two great-grandchildren, Kayla and Estephanie; two brothers, Floyd, rural Keene, and Clarence, Watford City; and one sister, Doris Gudmundson, Williston.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one sister, Ellen; and five brothers, Edward, Melvin, Raymond, George and Carl.

Olga Karges
HAZEN -- Olga Karges, 80, Hazen, died Jan. 14, 1998, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be 10 a.m. MST Monday at Immanuel Baptist Church, Beulah. Further arrangements are pending at Seibel Funeral Home, Beulah.

Oliver Norheim
MADDOCK -- Oliver Norheim, 85, Maddock, died Jan. 13, 1998, in his home. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at North Viking Lutheran Church, Maddock, with burial in Flora Lutheran Cemetery, Flora.

He is survived by his wife, Jean; two sons, Roy, Elsinore, Calif., and Allen, Indian Harbour Beach, Fla.; and three daughters, June Aanderud, Brookings, S.D., Nadine Tisdale, Vista, Calif., and Kay Neilsen, Salem, Ore. (Nelson Funeral Home, Maddock)

June Pace
June Pace, 74, Sheridan, Wyo., died Jan. 11, 1998, in a Las Vegas, Nev., hospital.

June was born on April 24, 1923, at Alta, to John and Myrtle Anderson. She received her elementary education at Pleasant View School, a country school north of Regan, and high school at Bismarck High School. She married Reuben Braunberger in 1942.

They farmed in Steiber Township for several years. Then worked for Charlie Sanders, north of Bismarck, before moving to Montana. They had four children, Dwight, Douglas, Cindy and Robert. She and Reuben divorced and she married Charles Pace in 1971.

She is survived by two sons, Dwight, Las Vegas, and Robert, Wyoming; one daughter, Cindy, Pahrum, Neb.; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and three brothers, John Anderson, Wilton, and Ralph and Albert, both of Bismarck.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Douglas, who died in 1963 at the age of 19; and three sisters.

Paul Roehl
HETTINGER -- Paul M. Roehl Sr., 70, Hettinger, died of cancer, Jan. 13, 1998, in Mandan. Services will be 10:30 a.m. MST Saturday at Hettinger Lutheran Church, with burial in Bucyrus Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Alma Jane; two sons, Roger, Mandan, and Paul Jr., North Highland, Calif.; three daughters, Paulette Lysne, Cheyenne, Wyo., Wanda Wuitschick, Harvey, and Sharon Brattvet, Hatton; three brothers, Edwin, Willis and Palmer, all of Washington; and five sisters, Edna Swenson, Bismarck, Leona Savage, Lillian Anderson, Lois Galpin and Shirley Briones, all of Washington. Chip Stockwell
BEACH -- Chip James Stockwell, 19, Plummer, Minn., died Jan. 11, 1998, in Minnesota. Services will be 1 p.m. MST Saturday at St. John's the Baptist Catholic Church, Beach, with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his parents, Leonard and Cindi Stockwell; two brothers, Chad, Eagan, Minn., and Chase, at home; one sister, Chelsea, at home; and his grandparents, Rena Stockwell, and Jim and Loretta Tescher, all of Beach. (Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home, Beach)

Donald Twist
MANNING -- Donald Twist, 81, Manning, died Jan. 14, 1998, in the Dickinson hospital after a long battle with cancer. Services will be 2 p.m. MST Saturday at Hillside Baptist Church, Dickinson. Further arrangements are pending at Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson.

Norman Wahl
Norman V. Wahl, 80, 114 Georgia St., died Jan. 13, 1998, at his home. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Eastgate Funeral Service, with the Rev. Peary Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.

Norman was born Feb. 4, 1917, in Hurdsfield, the son of August and Louise (Andresen) Wahl. He was raised and educated in Harvey, and graduated from the University of North Dakota.

Norman married Grace Bietz in 1935 at Fessenden. Norman was employed in Jamestown with the U.S. Civil Service Commission and the North Dakota Employment Service. He served in the U.S. Navy for two years, overseas, during World War II.

Norman then owned and operated a food business in Jamestown until 1954, when he went into the insurance business. He was a claims adjuster until retiring in 1984.

He was a member of El Zagal Shrine, VFW Club and Elks Lodge.

He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and George Carman, Bellingham, Minn.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Vicki, and Terry and Maureen, all of Bismarck; five granddaughters; five great-grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Grace, in 1991; one brother; and two sisters.

Esther Zimmerman
Esther T. Zimmerman, 79, St. Vincent's Nursing Home, Bismarck, died Jan. 13, 1998, in a Bismarck nursing home. Services will be 2 p.m. MST Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Carson, with the Revs. Stephen Eastin and Ken Trana officiating. Burial will be in Carson Community Cemetery.

Visitation is ongoing at Boelter Funeral Home, Bismarck, and will continue for one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Esther was born May 22, 1918, in Burt, the daughter of C.E. and Katherina (Schatz) Schutz. She attended country schools near Burt.

Esther worked in Montana for three years then returned to North Dakota, where she married Ted Zimmerman on Dec. 10, 1940, at Burt. Following their marriage, they farmed near Carson until their retirement in 1974.

She most recently resided at Liberty Heights in Mandan before entering St. Vincent's three months ago.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Carson, a 4-H leader for 10 years, sang in the church choir, and a former member of U.P.W. and Mission Society.

She was involved with the German Singers, and enjoyed bowling, fishing, gardening, playing horseshoes and cake decorating.

Esther is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Bill Cook, Gresham, Ore.; and Teena and Terry Oestreich, Dickinson; four sons and daughters-in-law, LeRoy and DiAnn, Bismarck, Duane and Carol, Mandan, Clinton and Trisha, Carson; and Larry and Jean, Goddard, Kan.; six sisters, Gertrude Doyle, Fallon, Nev., Martha Hall, Modesto, Calif., Ida Zimmerman, Carson, Edna Wegner, Billings, Mont., Leah Myhre, Calimesa, Calif., and Ruth Roehrich, Bismarck; two brothers, Carl Schutz, Mandan; and Edmund Schutz, Newman, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted, in 1985; three brothers, Art, Albert and Ted; one sister, Bertha Schultz; and one grandson, Brian Zimmerman. (Boelter Funeral Home, Bismarck)

Pauline Zalesky
DICKINSON -- Pauline Zalesky, 87, Dickinson, died Jan. 13, 1998, in a Dickinson hospital. Services will be 10 a.m. MST Friday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson. Burial will be in Dickinson Cemetery.

She is survived by two sons, Arlen and Richard, both of Dickinson; three daughters, Marjorie Anderson, Corpus Christi, Texas, Helene Casteel, Houston, Texas, and Bonnie Mack, Bowman; and two sisters, Della Ginpl and Marcella Sokolowski. (Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson)

Donald Twist

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; three sons, Earl, Kalispell, Mont., David, Manning, and Allen, Davenport, Iowa; one daughter, Linda Velenchenko, Bellingham, Wash.; and three sisters, Berniece Kolesnick, Dryden, Wash., Betty Neal, Dickinson, and Lois Wegner, Bowman. Buelah Paulsen
FARGO -- Buelah Paulsen, 94, Fargo, died Jan. 13, 1998, in a Fargo nursing home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Hanson-Runsvold Chapel, Fargo. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Fargo.

She is survived by five sons, Sheril Duane, Red Bluff, Calif., Frederick, Bismarck, Alvin and Larry, both of Fargo, and Darryl, Susanville, Calif.; two half-brothers, Harry Birkman, Redding, Calif., and Robert Birkman, Fort Peck, Mont. (Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo)

Gordon Salisbury
Gordon Salisbury, 80, Pierz, Minn., and formerly of Minnewaukan and Maddock areas, died Jan. 12, 1998, in a Pierz nursing home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today, at Nelson Funeral Home Chapel, Maddock. Burial will be in Minnewaukan Cemetery.

He is survived by one brother, Roger, Jetmore, Kan.; and three sisters, Mavis Deines, Seattle, Wash., Cecil Iverson, Fargo, and Joy Beckman, Wickenbury, Ariz. (Nelson Funeral Home, Minnewaukan)

Albert Hehr
KULM -- Albert Hehr, 86, Kulm, died Jan. 15, 1998, in the Wishek hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Kulm. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Kulm.
