Henry Walker
Henry Owen Walker, 59, Gillette, Wyo., and formerly of Bismarck, died Jan. 20, 1998, in a Gillette hospital of natural causes. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, at Bismarck Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jeff Franko officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck, with military honors provided by V.F.W. Post No. 1326.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday morning at the funeral home prior to services at the funeral home.

Services were also held in Gillette on Jan. 23, 1998.

Henry Owen Walker was born Aug. 26, 1938, in Bismarck to Frank John and Ella (Fode) Walker. He was raised and educated in Bismarck and the surrounding area. He worked various construction jobs as a young man and entered the U.S. Army in 1955, serving in Korea until being honorably discharged in 1957.

He married June M. Wilson on Oct. 17, 1959, in Bismarck. They remained in Bismarck until moving to Upland, Ind., in 1973. They later moved to Wichita Falls, Texas, in 1977 and to Gillette, Wyo., in 1979.

He helped build the Buckskin and Coal Creek coal mines in the Gillette area.

He belonged to the Moose Lodge in Indiana and enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and building just about anything.

He is survived by his wife, June M., Gillette, Wyo.; three sons, Owen Henry Walker, Bismarck; one daughter, Laura Ann Luciano, Wichita Falls, Texas; six grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Bender, Bismarck, and Betty Allen, Mineral Wells, Texas; three step-brothers, Eddie Scheidt, Colorado Springs, Colo., Herman Scheidt, Citrus Heights, Calif., and Lawrence Scheidt, Bismarck; and one step-sister, Christine Helford, Bismarck.

He was preceded in death by his father; his step-father, Edward R. Scheidt; and one step-brother, Emil Scheidt. (Bismarck Funeral Home)

Richard Bartow
NEW ENGLAND -- Richard O. Bartow, 90, New England, died Jan. 23, 1998, in a Hettinger nursing home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. MST Tuesday, at Assembly of God Church, New England. Burial will be in Bowman Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Helen, New England; three sons, Gerald, Wilton, James, Woodbury, Minn., and David, Dickinson; two daughters, Jane Preszler, Bismarck, and Joan Jesfjeld, Prairie City, S.D.; three sisters, Hazen Bale, Fargo, Jenny Tryggested, Boscobel, Wis., and Ruby St. John, Union, Ore. Victor Pirkl
DICKINSON -- Victor Pirkl, 85, Dickinson, died Jan. 23, 1998, in a Dickinson hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. MST Monday, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine; two sons, Robert, Colorado Spirngs, Colo., and Larry, Los Alamos, N.M.; three sisters, Dorothy Doubrava, Woodburn, Ore., Hattie Bachmeier, Albany, Ore., and Emma Kadrmas, Dickinson; and two brothers, Tony, Molalla, Ore., and Gilbert, Albany, Ore. Agnes French
WILLISTON -- Agnes French, 99, Williston, died Jan. 23, 1998, in a Williston hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Williston. Burial will be in Epping Cemetery.

She is survived by four daughters, Gladys Willard, Williston, Maxine Kling, Epping, Mildred Kling, Salem, Ore., and Miriam Waller, Coleharbor; and one son, Enos French, Culbertson, Mont. (Everson Funeral Home, Williston)

Augustina Richter
HAZEN -- Augustina Richter, 95, Hazen, died Jan. 23, 1998, in a New Salem nursing home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MST Tuesday, at Peace Lutheran Church, Hazen. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She is survived by one son, Elmer O., Hazen; one daughter, Vyola Schmoll, Hazen; one sister, Bertha Usselman, Fairview, Mont. (Seibel Funeral Home, Hazen)

Courtney Weinberger
Courtney Weinberger, the stillborn daughter of Richard and Terralee Weinberger, Lincoln, died Jan. 24, 1998, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, at Boelter Funeral Home. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. tonight at Boelter Funeral Home, Bismarck. Further arrangements are pending with Boelter Funeral Home.

Evelyn Golde
BEACH -- Evelyn S. Golde, 87, Beach, died Jan. 23, 1998, in the Dickinson hospital. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. MST Monday, at Evangelical Church, Beach.

She is survived by her sisters, Dora Bostyan, Violet Schmeling, and Violet Weinreis. (Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home, Beach)

Francis Bethke
Frances T. Bethke, 72, 201 14th Ave. N.W., Mandan, died Jan. 23, 1998, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at noon Monday, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Al Leary officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, where a Christian Mothers and Catholic Daughters Rosary will be said at 4 p.m. today. A parish vigil will be at 7 p.m. tonight, at Weigel Funeral Home. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Monday, until the time of the service at the church.

Frances was born on April 4, 1925, in Mandan, the daughter of Joseph and Rose (Knoll) Stumpf. She was raised and educated in the Mandan area. On October 28, 1946, she married Albert E. Bethke in Mandan.

Frances was an active member of Mandan Art Association and Art in the Park, National Pen Women, Catholic Daughters, Christian Mothers and Christ the King Quilters. She was involved in a lot of volunteer and charity work.

She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Albert L. Jr., Mandan, and Christopher and Jay Marie, Mandan; one daughter, Janice Bethke, Mandan; two grandchildren, David and Michael Bethke; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Martin and Minnie Stumpf, Harvey, Pete and Florence Stumpf, Larimore, and Paul and Eleanor Stumpf, Minot; and three sisters and one brother-in-law, Betty Vernon, Spearfish, S.D., Marge and Ed Olson, Fargo, and Clara Jellum, Glyndon, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her spouse, Albert, who died on January 30, 1997; her parents; two sisters, Ann and Mary; and three brothers, John, Nick, and Joey.

Robert Andersen
WILLISTON -- Robert G. Andersen, 44, Williston, died Jan. 25, 1998, in a Minot hospital. Arrangements are pending with Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan.

Mathias Berger
CENTER -- Mathias Berger, 93, Center, died Jan. 25, 1998, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Martin's Catholic Church, Center. Further arrangements are pending with Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan.

Rick Bowerman
DAWSON -- Rick Bowerman, 49, Dawson, died Jan. 25, 1998, in a Steele nursing home. Arrangements are pending with Eastgate Funeral Service.

Elaine Gartner
KILLDEER -- Elaine Lund Gartner, 64, Killdeer, died Jan. 22, 1998, in a Dickinson hospital. Services will be 10 a.m. MST today at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Killdeer. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery, Killdeer.

She is survived by her husband, Tony; five sons, Robert and Terry Lund, both of Park River, Rodney Lund, Thief River Falls, Minn., Brad Lund, Lankin, and Mark Lund; one brother, Merle Parker Jr., Minot; and one sister, Patricia Halvorson, Florida. (Mischel-Olson Chapel, Dickinson)

Barbara Joyce
Barbara Joyce, 87, 228 W. Turnpike Ave., Bismarck, died Jan. 25, 1998, at her home. Arrangements are pending with Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck.

Benjamin Koenig
KULM -- Benjamin Koenig, 76, Kulm, died Jan. 24, 1998, in the Wishek hospital. Arrangements are pending with Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Kulm.

Clemens Kreitel
Clemens Kreitel, 79, 2030 Xavier Street North, Bismarck, died Jan. 23, 1998, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, at Church of St. Anne, Bismarck, with the Rev. Ed Wehner officiating.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, at Eastgate Funeral Service, where a rosary and prayer service will be said at 7 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

Clem was born on July 7, 1918, in Napoleon, the son of Clemens and Mary (Schaffer) Kreitel. He attended schools in Glencross, S.D., Strasburg High School, Timber Lake High School, and graduated from Ipswich High School in 1937.

Clem married Gertrude Albrecht on June 16, 1941, in Selby, S.D., After their marriage, Clem worked as a janitor at St. Luke's Hospital, and was a delivery man for George Harm's Furniture Store in Aberdeen, S.D. He also worked for Biegler Nash in Aberdeen, and George and Paul Schaffer's Garage as a mechanic.

On Nov. 5, 1948, Gertrude died to injuries sustained in a car accident. Clem then moved to Bismarck. In 1949, he worked for Lehman's Supply in McClusky, and from November of 1949 until November of 1950, he worked for Super Service Garage in Napoleon.

Clem began working for Bergstrom Supply in 1950 as a salesman on the road. On Dec. 29, 1953, he married Eva Monolovitz in Bismarck. He worked for Bergstrom's (Sandvigs) in the parts department, retiring on May 23, 1990. Eva died on February 22, 1995.

Clem was a member of St. Anne's Parish, Moose Lodge, and the American Legion. He played the accordion in his earlier years for dances. He loved watching football and baseball games and also fishing.

Clem is survived by six sons and five daughters-in-law, James and Jeanette, Renner, S.D., Steve and Ginger, Everett, Wash., Dick, Tim and Sheila, all of Bismarck, Ron and Lisa, Minneapolis, and Dave and Joanie, Mississippi; seven daughters and sons-in-law, Pat and Elmer Schnittker, Chillicothe, Mo., Jeanne and Steve Devine, Fargo, Vicky and Marvin Kopecky, Aberdeen, S.D., Kitty and Lee Henry, Opelousas, La., Charlene and Ron Zeiszler, Mandan, Jackie and Mike Tharaldson, Fargo, and Mary and Greg Weiand, Fresno, Calif.; 24 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one sister and brother-in-law, Patsy and Milo Hoenscheid, Waipahu, Hawaii.

Clem was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, Sebastian Selzler; his first wife, Gertrude; his second wife, Eva; two sons, Don and Dennis; one great-grandson, Blake Werner; and three brothers, Will, Elmer and Ed. (Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck)

Elsie Larson
DICKINSON -- Elsie Clark Larson, 97, Dickinson, formerly of Belfield, died Jan. 24, 1998, in the Dickinson hospital. Services will be 2 p.m. MST Wednesday at Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson. Further arrangements are pending with Price-Murphy Funeral Home.

Selmer Medhus
LEEDS -- Selmer Medhus, 90, Leeds, died Jan. 25, 1998, in the Rugby hospital. Arrangements are pending with Nelson Funeral Home, Leeds.

Lynn Rasmussen
Lynn B. Rasmussen, 38, Bismarck, died Jan. 24, 1998, in Bismarck. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Sunne Lutheran Church, rural Wilton, with the Rev. Paul Schauer officiating. Burial will be in Regan.

Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at Bismarck Funeral Home, and for one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Lynn was born Jan. 26, 1959, in Bismarck to Richard and Muriel (Smith) Rasmussen. He graduated from Wilton High School in 1977 and attended North Dakota State School of Science at Wahpeton in 1978. Lynn worked at Regan Elevator beginning in 1979, and he farmed in the Regan area for 12 years.

He enjoyed farming and loved watching football.

Lynn is survived by his parents, Richard and Muriel; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger and Greta, and Jerry and Chloe; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sharon and Doug Sorenson, and Cheryl and Jim Triska; eight nieces and nephews; one great nephew; and many uncles, aunts, cousins and other relatives. Courtney Weinberger
Courtney Jo Weinberger, our special little angel, daughter of Terra and Rich Weinberger, 7 Belk Drive, was stillborn, Jan. 24, 1998, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be 10 a.m. today at Boelter Funeral Home, with the Rev. Thomas Kramer officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.

Survivors include her parents; her grandparents, Charles and Vernitta Lemar and Richard and Judy Weinberger, all of Bismarck; and special aunts, uncles and cousins. (Boelter Funeral Home, Bismarck)

Roy Frank
Roy H. Frank, 93, Lemmon, S.D., died Jan. 25, 1998, in a Lemmon nursing home. Services will be 10-30 a.m. MST Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Lemmon, with the Rev. Ron Garry officiating. Burial will be after the lunch at Morristown Cemetery, Morristown, S.D.

Visitation will be from 1 to 7:30 p.m. MST today, at Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home, Lemmon, and for one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. A rosary and vigil service will be said tonight at the church at 8 MST.

Roy Harold Frank was born on April 1, 1904, to David and Mary (Sund) Frank on his parents homestead near Lodgepote, S.D. He grew up there and attended rural county school. Roy helped his family with the farming and ranching at an early age.

On Aug. 1, 1939, he married Marjorie Arndorfer at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Hettinger. They began their life and lived on her family farm, north of Hettinger.

Roy later worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad at Morristown. He farmed and ranched also near Morristown since 1930. Roy loved farming and was good at it.

He and his wife, Marjorie loved to travel, and did so during the winters. They made many trips to the west coast. Marjorie died in June of 1958. Roy continued to farm and travel until 1994.

He loved his family and they were very important to him, especially his grandchildren. Roy also loved to visit with his friends and family and play cards.

Grateful for having shared his life are his son, Ronald Frank, Sacramento, Calif.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Dorothy Pudwill, Bismarck, and Marjorie and George Stola, Bartelsville, Okla.; two sisters, Hazel Todd and Pearl Halbert, both of San Diego; one nephew, Warren, and his wife, Patsy Todd, Gillette, Wyo., his grandchildren, Gary and wife, Sharon Pudwill, Minneapolis, Rodney and his wife, Las Vegas, Dixie and husband, Robert Zinn, Lake Tahoe, Nev., Tim and wife, Sue Pudwill, Bismarck, Diane and husband, Dave Karch, Fort Worth, Texas; special great-grandson, Jason and wife Chris Pudwill, Las Vegas; and several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one brother; one sister; one son; and three grandsons.
