Travis L. Brenner, 26, McIntosh, S.D., died Oct. 11, 1997, of injuries suffered in an accident in rural Grant County, N.D. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. MDT Wednesday at First Baptist Church, McIntosh. Burial will be in Leith Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Michelle; his parents, Sidney and Melva Brenner, Carson; one brother, Trampis, Carson; one sister, Priscilla Werner, Carson; his grandmothers, Norma Brenner, McIntosh, and Velma Fuchs, Lemmon, S.D.; and his great-grandmother, Elizabeth Fuchs, Carson. Catherine Rykowsky
DICKINSON -- Catherine Rykowsky, 86, Dickinson, died Oct. 12, 1997, in the Dickinson hospital. Services will be held at 1 p.m. MDT Wednesday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson. Burial will be in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Dickinson.

She is survived by two sons, Richard, Dickinson, and John Jr., Bismarck; two daughters, Marge Pershy, Dickinson, and Loretta Stewart, Belfield; two brothers, William Custer, Belfield, and Frank Custer, South Heart; and one sister, Mildred Kitachuk, Springfield, Ore. Harry Mason
JAMESTOWN -- Harry A. Mason, 75, Jamestown, died Oct. 12, 1997, in a Fargo hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at United Presbyterian Church, Jamestown. Burial will be in Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown.

He is survived by his wife, Jeane; two daughters, Vicki Laraway, Jamestown, and Pegi Ecker, Fargo; one son, Greg, Eden Prairie, Minn.; and one half-brother, Wesley, Newport, Ore. (Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown)

Paul Iverson
NEW TOWN -- Paul J. Iverson, 20, New Town, died Oct. 12, 1997, in a Minot hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at New Town High School, with burial in New Town Cemetery.

He is survived by his parents, David and Eugenia, New Town; two brothers, Eric, Fargo, and Nathan, at home; and his grandparents, Lorenz Anton, and James and Ardine Iverson, all of New Town. (Johnson Funeral Home, New Town)

Joseph Bogner
DICKINSON -- Joseph F. Bogner, 97, Dickinson, died Oct. 11, 1997, in a Dickinson nursing home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Wednesday, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson. Burial will be in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Dickinson.

He is survived by one son, Ron, Killdeer; and three daughters, Shirley Self, Casper, Wyo., Dolores Deines, New England, and Claudia Bogner, Dickinson. (Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson)

John Bosche
GRAFTON -- John Bosche, 83, Grafton, died Oct. 12, 1997, at his home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at All Faiths Chapel, Developmental Center, Grafton. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Grafton.

He is survived by two sisters, Eva Weber, Bismarck, and Barbara Degele, Dickinson. (Henriksen-Kamrowski Funeral Home, Grafton)

Sophia Welch
BOWMAN -- Sophia L. Welch, 98, Bowman, formerly of Ludlow, S.D., died Oct. 12, 1997, in the Bowman nursing home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Thursday at Bowman Lutheran Church. Further arrangements are pending with Krebsbach Funeral Service, Bowman.

Gottlieb Sackmann
ASHLEY -- Gottlieb L. Sackmann, 76, Ashley, died Oct. 12, 1997, in a Fargo hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church, Ashley. Further arrangements are pending with Carlsen Funeral Home, Ashley.

Viola McCormick
MENOKEN -- Viola E. McCormick, 66, rural Menoken, died Oct. 12, 1997, at her home. Services will be held at noon Friday at Church of St. Mary, Bismarck. Further arrangements are pending with Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck.

Herbert McAdoo
HALLIDAY -- Herbert McAdoo, 64, Halliday, died Oct. 13, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Thursday, at Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson. Further arrangements are pending.

Thomas Cook
HALLIDAY -- Thomas R. Cook, 81, Halliday, died Oct. 13, 1997, at his home. Arrangements are pending with Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson.

Norman Anderson
WATFORD CITY -- Norman J. Anderson, 66, Watford City, died Oct. 27, 1997, in a Williston hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at First Lutheran Church, Watford City, with the Rev. Mary Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Silent City Cemetery, rural Keene.

Visitation is from 10 a.m to noon today at Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City, and one hour before services at the church.

Norman Anderson was born March 27, 1931, in Berg, the son of Ole and Ada (Rice) Anderson. He was raised on the family homestead near Berg and attended Pleasant Valley Country School through eighth grade. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Clear Creek Lutheran Church, Keene.

He remained on the family farm until entering the U.S. Army on June 17, 1952, in Fargo. He served in the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged at Camp Stoneman, Calif. He was decorated with the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal with two bronze stars, and the U.N. service medal.

He returned to the family farm where he raised small grains and founded Anderson Garage, which he operated for 20 years.

On Sept. 16, 1961, he was married to Loretta Kummer in Keene. They first made their home on the homestead and later moved to the Peder Aure farm three miles east of the homestead. In 1977, they moved to Watford City, where Norman has since worked as a mechanic for S & S Motors.

Norman enjoyed woodworking as a hobby and enjoyed maintaining his vehicles. He was a very compassionate and gentle man and a loving grandfather. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta; three daughters, Jeanette Anderson and her companion Chuck Ceynar of Watford City, Roxanne Anderson of Bismarck and Carla Anderson of Dickinson; one brother, Curtis (Sharon) Anderson of Keene; two sisters, Lola Becken of Watford City and Darlene Rice of Gary, S.D.; and one grandson, Marc Ceynar.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Hazel. (Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City)

George Dybing
MINOT -- George T. Dybing, 86, Minot, formerly of Harvey, died Oct. 28, 1997, in a Minot hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church, Minot. Burial will be in Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.

He is survived by his wife, Tillie; one daughter, Susan Berke of Minneapolis; and one son, Myron Dybing of Kindred. (Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot)

Walter Fuchs
DICKINSON -- Walter J. Fuchs, 79, Dickinson, died Oct. 27, 1997, in a Dickinson hospital.

Services will be 10:30 MST Friday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dickinson.

He is survived by his wife, Leone; four sons, Tim of Grafton, Wis., and Ron, Clark and Curtis, all of Dickinson; one daughter, Peggy Busby of Hancock, N.H.; and three sisters, Elsie Fehr of Seattle, Ida Feil of Hebron and Meta Metzger of Eugene, Ore. (Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson)

Mae Helgeson
DICKINSON -- Mae Marie Helgeson, 66, Dickinson, died Oct. 27, 1997, in the Dickinson hospital.

Services will be 1 p.m. MDT Saturday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson.

Further arrangements are pending at Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson.

Harry Holz
Harry A. Holz, 76, Bismarck, died Oct. 27, 1997, in Strasburg.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Boelter Funeral Home, with the Rev. Darrel Aleson officiating. Military rites will be by Bismarck Veterans of Foreign Wars, Gilbert N. Nelson Post No. 1326, at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.

Harry Alfred Holz was born July 20, 1921, in Hamburg, Germany, the oldest son of Alfred and Elsa Holz. He had two brothers and two sisters. He arrived in the Unites States in 1939 at the age of 18.

In 1944, Harry met and married Amelia "Millie" Mosset, one of 12 children born to Katherine Glass and Anton Mossett, who farmed outside of Linton. Harry and Millie had two daughters, Shirley and Peggy Ann. In October 1945, Harry was sworn into the U.S. Army.

Master Sergeant (E-8) Harry A. Holz retired with honors in 1971 after a distinguished 27-year career in the U.S. Regular Army. The Army acknowledged his commitment to his adopted country by bestowing on him two Army commendations and the highly revered Commendation for Distinguished Enlisted Services.

Harry remained very active in a volunteer capacity with the Veterans of Foreign Wars. His service was acknowledged in 1975, when the VFW elected him their post commander. In 1976 they bestowed on him the coveted position and title "Grand Seam Squirrel."

Harry is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Stephen Kukta of Orange County, Calif., and Peggy Ann and Art Grabow of Seattle; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Arthur Jacobson
Arthur H. Jacobson, 63, Orange Park, Fla., died Oct. 27, 1997, at his home. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Friday at Congregational Church, Dawson.

He is survived by his wife, Nora; one son, Lance; two daughters, Marisa Lynn Brent and Cynthia Streb, all of Jacksonville, Fla.; four brothers, Arnold of Napoleon, Russell of Fredonia, Edwin of Jamestown, and Marvin of Litchville; and two sisters, Lillian Wanzek of Jamestown and MaryAnn Brunner of Napoleon.

Ruth Kroshus
Ruth Kroshus, 68, 635 S. 14th St., died Oct. 29, 1997, at her home.

Arrangements are pending at Perry Funeral Home, Mandan.

Blanche Lawrence
Blanche Lenore Lawrence, 80, McLaughlin, S.D., died Oct. 28, 1997, at her home.

Services will be 11 a.m. CDT Monday at St. Aloysious Catholic Church, Bullhead, S.D. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Further arrangements are pending with Kesling Funeral Home, Mobridge, S.D.

Ernestine Perry
TWIN BUTTES -- Ernestine Perry, 75, Twin Buttes, died Oct. 27, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital.

Services will be 10 a.m. CST Saturday in Twin Buttes Memorial Hall. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Catholic Church Cemetery, Twin Buttes.

She is survived by her husband, George; two daughters, Diana Tomlin and Cindy Jacobs, both of Twin Buttes; two sons, William of Sacaton, Ariz., and Michael of Pensacola, Fla.; and two brothers, Charles Huber of Garrison, and Fred Huber of White Shield. (Seibel Funeral Homes, Beulah and Hazen)

Merrylee Petryszyn, 77, Bismarck, died Oct. 29, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital.
