Merrylee Petryszyn
Merrylee Petryszyn, 77, Bismarck, died Oct. 29, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, Bismarck, with the Rev. Thomas Richter officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck.

Visitation will begin at noon today at Eastgate Funeral Service, where a vigil service will be said at 7 p.m.

Merrylee Coffin was born May 15, 1920, in Golden Valley, the daughter of Jacob and Elgia (Lawrence) Coffin. She was raised on the farm near Golden Valley before moving with her family to Mandan, where she attended schools.

She graduated from Christie Beauty School, and worked as a beautician in Bismarck and Mandan.

She married John Petryszyn on Sept. 26, 1942, in Forsyth, Mont. They lived in St. Paul and in Ohio before returning to Bismarck in 1946.

Merrlylee was very busy raising her family, whom she devoted her life and work to. Her family meant everything to her and her greatest moments were with her children and grandchidlren.

She enjoyed gardening and sewing.

She is survived by four sons and two daughters-in-law, Leslie of Alexandria, Minn., Kenneth and Bonnie of Mandan, David of Bismarck and Robert and Deb of Bismarck; three daughters and sons-in-law, Evie and Paul Klemetson of Bismarck, Kathleen and Jeff Looney of Malakoff, Texas, and Mary Ellen and Tim Pull of Colfax; 18 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two sisters, Grace Jahner of Bismarck and Helen Klaudt of Kansas City, Kan.

She was preceded in death by one son, Ronald; two brothers, Clarence and Milfred "Mo"; and one sister, Myrt Starr. (Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck)

Wilhelm Schlender
JAMESTOWN -- Wilhelm H. Schlender, 68, Jamestown, died Oct. 28, 1997, in a Fargo hospital.

Services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Basilica of St. James, Jamestown. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; two daughters, Linda Urbanik of Riverview, Fla., and Lori Wiese of Pembina; and two sons, Scott of Alpharetta, Ga., and David of Colorado Springs, Colo. (Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown)

Vera Schneider
Vera Schneider, 97, Havre, Mont., formerly of Williston, died Oct. 29, 1997, in a Havre nursing home.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Williston.

Further arrangements are pending with Everson Funeral Home, Williston.

Margaret Sehn
Margaret Sehn, 67, Bismarck, died Oct. 29, 1997, at her home.

Services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday at Church of St. Anne, Bismarck, with the Rev. Ed Wehner officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck.

Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. Sunday at Eastgate Funeral Service, where a rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday evening.

Margaret Ehli was born June 8, 1930, in Bismarck, the daughter of Joe and Agnes (Dworshak) Ehli. She was raised and attended school in Bismarck.

She married Edward P. Sehn on June 28, 1949, in Bismarck. Margaret was employed with Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center as an activity aide until her retirement.

Margaret loved being with her grandchildren and would always have a special baking project when they were around. She also enjoyed reading.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Paul Davis of Bismarck and Nancy and Tom Selby of Williston; one son and daughter-in-law, Edward Jr. and Lorraine of Napoleon; six grandchildren, Christopher Williams and his wife, Stacy, Nicole Williams, Sara and Ruth Selby and Cullin and Breanna Sehn; three great-grandchildren, Kaylynn and Branden Williams and Brady Williams; one sister and two brothers-in-law, Rose and Herbert Weible of Oak Harbor, Wash., and Frank Vogel of Bismarck; and one brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Betty Ehli of Fulton, N.Y.; and many special family, friends, and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed, on Aug. 19, 1994; her parents; and two sisters, Marie Boyd and Elizabeth Vogel.

Juanita Shemorry
WILLISTON -- Juanita Shemorry, 85, Williston, died Oct. 29, 1997, in a Williston hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Williston. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Williston.

She is survived by one daughter, Patricia S. Williams of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; and one son, Jack of Williston. (Everson Funeral Home, Williston)

Eleanora Stockert
DICKINSON -- Eleanora Stockert, 95, Dickinson, died Oct. 29, 1997, in a Dickinson hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. MST Saturday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Dickinson. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She is survived by three sons, Dandaline of Steele, Henry of Brainerd, Minn., and Robert of Dickinson; three daughters, Magdaline Langer of Spearfish, S.D., Clementine Urlacher of New England, and Agnes Reichert of Billings, Mont.; two brothers, Jerome Frank of Mott, and Christ Frank of Willmar, Minn.; and two sisters, Sister Florenita Frank of Rochester, Minn., and Agatha Thorene of Wynot, Neb. (Mischel-Olson Chapel, Dickinson)

Ethel Wagner
LARK -- Ethel Wagner, 84, Lark, died Oct. 29, 1997, in Mandan.

Services will be 11 a.m. Sunday at Seventh Day Adventist Church, Mandan. Burial will be in Otter Creek Cemetery, Lark.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with a prayer service said at 7 p.m. that evening.

Ethel (Bruington) Wagner was born Jan. 25, 1913, in Amidon, to Ward and Mabel (Hodges) Bruington.

In September of 1925, she and her family moved to a farm 20 miles south of Almont. Here she attended a local country school.

She married Herbert Wagner on Dec. 20, 1932, in Bismarck. In 1961, Ethel received her Licensed Practical Nurse Degree from St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Dickinson. Ethel worked for Jacobson Memorial Hospital in Elgin from 1962 until 1974.

During her life, Ethel wore many different caps. After each hospital shift, she would change from her nursing cap into her farm cap, to work with her husband on the ranch.

The priorities in Ethel's life were her heavenly Father, the ranch and all the creatures on it and attending to the needs of not only her immediate family but anyone else that crossed her doorstep.

Ethel's relationship with her heavenly Father was an all-consuming part of her daily life.

She is survived by her husband, Herbert of Mandan; one son and daughter-in-law, Wencil and Patsy of Vancouver, Wash.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, JoAn Well of Mandan, Judy and Don Blower of Camden, Tenn., and Lenora and Willard Werth of Hermosa, S.D.; seven grandchildren, two grandsons-in-law, and one granddaughter-in-law, Colby and Kathy Well of Mandan, Kent Well of Bismarck, Brit Well of Mandan, Dana and Tom Rolfstad of Williston, Stephanie and John Bennett of Vancouver, Wash., Lisa Paul of Hastings, Minn., and Tiffani Werth of Portland, Ore.; and four great-grandchildren, T.C. Rolfstad of Williston, Tyler Well of Portland, Ore., and Shevon Paul of Hastings, Minn., and Wes Kampa of Bismarck; two brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Ruby Bruington of Mandan, and Harry and Dorothy Bruington of Weimer, Calif.; and one sister and brother-in-law, Laura and Charles Werner, Lark.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Dean, Ray and Lewis; and one son-in-law, Harold.

Lydia Williams
GARRISON -- Lydia Williams, 92, Garrison, died Oct. 29, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Garrison. Burial will be in Garrison Cemetery.

She is survived by one sister, Elizabeth Boger of Garrison; and three brothers, David Eslinger of Garrison, Albert Eslinger of Alderson, W.V., and Emil Eslinger of Richardton, Texas. (Thompson Funeral Home, Garrison)

J. Ivanelle Lobeck
J. Ivanelle Lobeck, 90, Bismarck, died Oct. 10, 1996, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Lutheran Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Richard Hagestuen officiating. Services also will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Verona, with the Rev. Ray Hidekey officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Edgeley.

J. Ivanelle was born March 26, 1906, at Lancaster, Wis., the daughter of Oscar and Elizabeth (Wise) Jarratt. As a child the family moved to Montana where she was raised and educated. She lived in Hettinger and Edgeley. She married Alex Lobeck on Sept. 14, 1927, in Aberdeen, S.D. They moved to Verona in 1928. Alex died Oct. 2, 1970. She moved to Mandan in 1990, and to the Chateau in Bismarck on Nov. 11, 1995.

Ivanelle loved playing cards, crocheting and spending time with her family.

She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Al and Grace, Mandan, and Jim, and Tom and Mary, all of Palm Desert, Calif.; five grandchildren, Jeff and his wife, Stephanie, Jim Lobeck and Becky Lobeck, all of Mandan, Amy and her husband, Bruce Cowan, and Jennifer Lobeck, all of Palm Desert; and one great-grandson, Alex J. Lobeck (A.J. the V).

She was preceded in death by her husband; three sisters; and two brothers.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the organization of the individuals choice. (Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan)

Donna Novotny
Donna (Hanson) Novotny, 46, formerly of Driscoll, died Oct. 7, 1996, at her home in Burnsville, Minn., of cancer. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church, Driscoll.

Visitation will be held at the church one hour before services. Further arrangements are pending at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck.

Martin Henke Sr.
HANNOVER -- Martin L. Henke Sr., 66, Hannover, died Oct. 9, 1996, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Hannover, with the Rev. Bruce Kristalyn officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be 6-8 tonight at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, and will continue after 4 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Martin was born June 14, 1930, at Hannover, the son of Louis and Bertha (Kemmeset) Henke. He lived his entire life on the family farm.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie; two daughters, Denise Hinkel and Stephanie Unger, both of Mandan; two sons, Martin Jr., Mandan, and Mark, Hannover; two grandchildren; three sisters, Anna Kitzmann, Hannover, Bertha Bluder, Round Lake, Ill., and Louise Szabo, Elk Grove Village, Ill.; and one brother, Carl, Lisbon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Fritz; one sister, Mary Henke; and one grandson, Jeffrey Hinkel.

MaryJo Smith
MaryJo Smith, 72, 912 E. Owens Ave., died Oct. 10, 1996, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Church of St. Anne, Bismarck. Further arrangements are pending at Eastgate Funeral Service.

Ted Schadler
ELGIN -- Ted Schadler, 88, Elgin, died Oct. 10, 1996, in the Elgin hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. MDT Monday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Elgin, with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha; one brother, Adam, Elgin; three daughters, Doris Dittus, Idaho Falls, Idaho, Margaret Haugrose, Detroit Lakes, Minn., and Irene Greff, Bismarck; two sisters, Mary Hinderer, Carson, and Pauline Zantow, Aberdeen, S.D. (Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home, Elgin)

Leo Berger
DICKINSON -- Leo Berger, 85, Dickinson, died Oct. 10, 1996, in a Dickinson nursing home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Dickinson, with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; two daughters, Adeline Decker, Dickinson, and Rosalie Wosepka, Alexandria, Minn.; three sons, David, Melvin and James, all of Dickinson; two brothers, George and Valentine, both of Dickinson; and two sisters, Tillie Nielson, Billings, Mont., and Sister Angeline Berger, St. Joseph, Minn. Adolph Doerr
Adolph Doerr, 72, Medcenter One Care Center, Mandan, died Oct. 12, 1996, in the nursing home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Dakota Memorial Chapel, Bismarck. Further arrangements are pending.

Walter Pfefferkorn
STEELE -- Walter Pfefferkorn, 89, Golden Manor Nursing Home, Steele, died Oct. 12, 1996, in the nursing home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Steele. Further arrangements are pending at Eastgate Steele Memorial Chapel.
