Rasmus Rolfson
WATFORD CITY -- Rasmus Rolfson, 74, Watford City, died July 24, 1997, in his lake home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church, Watford, City, with burial in Schafer Cemetery, Watford City.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; one son, Royce, Watford City; two daughters, Kathleen Tschetter and Ragene Sovak, both of Minot; two brothers, Arkjer, Watford City, and Erling, New Rockford; and one sister, Marie Skoglund, Watford City. (Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City)

Lydia van Oosting
HENSLER -- Lydia van Oosting, 82, Hensler, died July 26, 1997, in her home near Hensler after a long illness. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church, Washburn, with the Revs. Phil Lint and Mary-Lee Lint officiating. Burial will be in Hensler Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today at Goetz Funeral Home, Washburn, and will continue at the church one hour before services.

Lydia Belle Fisher was born Dec. 10, 1914, near Hensler, to Fred and Frances (Gregory) Fisher. She grew up on her parent's farm in the Sanger and Hensler areas, where she attended rural school. She graduated from Hensler High School. She attended Christy's Beauty School in Bismarck. She married Anno van Oosting, Dec. 19, 1936, at Bismarck. They lived on a farm south of Hensler until 1944 when they moved to a farm just north of Hensler where they raised turkeys. They named their farm the Skyline Ranch and enjoyed the farming life. Anno died April 23, 1989. Lydia continued to make her home on the farm and enjoyed visiting with family and friends. In her early years she enjoyed square dancing.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Dwight Duke, Hensler; three grandchildren, Jonathan, Edward and Annola Duke; four great-grandsons, Justin, Jordan, Jason and Jacob Duke; and two brothers, Clarence, Hensler, and Merril, Renton, Wash.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, seven brothers and three sisters.

LaGarda Reynolds
Our beloved Gardy started her new life with Christ on July 26, 1997. Services for LaGarda M. Reynolds, 75, 1701 Third Ave. N.W., Mandan, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandan, with burial in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, where a rosary will be said at 7 tonight.

Gardy was born July 20, 1922, in Mandan, to Lars and Marian (Barth) Seerup. She graduated from Mandan High School in 1940. She was married to George A. (Fat) Boehm in Mandan in 1941. George died in 1955. Gardy had one daughter, Sharon, from this marriage. Gardy worked at J.C. Penney in Mandan from 1951 to 1955. She moved to California and worked at Service Station Supply Warehouse in Torrance, Calif., from 1955 to 1957. Gardy returned to Mandan and owned the Custer Inn south of Mandan from 1957 to 1960. In 1960 she married Eugene J. Reynolds in Mandan. She worked for the Bismarck Elks from 1963 to 1973, at the Teamsters Union Hall from 1974 to 1976, and Bismarck Legion Club in charge of gaming from 1978 to 1985, when she retired. She had been working at the State Tax Department where she had been a part-time employee for several years since retirement. Gardy also worked periodically at the Civic Center.

She is survived by her husband, Eugene; one daughter, Sharon (Boehm) Collins, Mandan; her mother, Marian Seerup, Mandan; three brothers, Ray, Billings, Mont., Don, Wahpeton, and Dick, Covina, Calif.; two grandchildren, Terri (Collins) Dorendorf, Billings, and Scott Collins, Lincoln; four great-grandchildren, Misty Rae, Bobby and Nicole Dionne, all of Billings, and Jeni Collins, Lincoln.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, George A. Boehm; her father, Lars Seerup; two brothers, Virgil and Edward Seerup; and one granddaughter, Sherri Collins.

Gardy loved to cook and bake, and thoroughly enjoyed sharing her goodies, preparing feasts for all her friends and relatives. She was a wonderful seamstress who made all kinds of neat things for her family. She especially loved making and wearing costumes, for which she won many prizes. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.

Audrey Kramer
ELGIN -- Services for Audrey E. Kramer, 63, Elgin, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church, Elgin, with the Rev. Nancy Jaster officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1-7 p.m. MDT today at Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home, Elgin, and will continue at the church one hour before services. A family service will begin at 7 tonight at the funeral home.

Casketbearers will be John Sieg, Curtis Ulrich, Clarence Werner, Quentin Pfutzenreuter, Art Rath, Ralph Meidinger and Randy Fischer.

Audrey Ellen Holle was born April 11, 1934, in New Salem, to August and Florence (Krause) Holle. She grew up and attended schools at New Salem, where she graduated from high school. She moved to Bismarck and worked for Bell Telephone Co. as an operator. She married Vernon Ulrich, March 14, 1957. They lived on a farm northeast of Elgin, where they raised two children, Ronae and Rocky. Vernon Ulrich died in 1962. Audrey and her children moved into Elgin and she worked as a bookkeeper for Farmers Union Oil Co. until January 1997. She married Delmar Kramer, Sept. 5, 1970, at Elgin. Audrey Ellen Kramer passed from this life, July 27, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital.

Audrey enjoyed doing her own thing, golfing, ceramics, painting, quilting, calligraphy and spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Delmar; one son and daughter-in-law, Rocky and Robbie, Elgin; one daughter and son-in-law, Ronae and Walter Rosin, Douglas, Wyo.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray and Marion Holle, and Roger and Rosalie Holle, both of New Salem; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Lois and Randy Grosz, Elgin, Carol and Henry Kaelberer, and Shirley and Floyd Bickel, both of New Salem, Sharon and John Rafteseth, Elgin, and Faye and Lib Gustin, Hazen; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Audrey was preceded in death by her father.

Ervin Jacobson
Ervin C. Jacobson Sr., 64, 1119 University Drive, died July 28, 1997, in his home after a battle with cancer. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Steve Sathre officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck, with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1326.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. today at Eastgate Funeral Service, and will continue at the church one hour before services.

Ervin was born April 15, 1933, in Mercer, the son of Carl and Ethel Jacobson. He was raised and educated in Mercer. Ervin entered the U.S. Army in 1953, and was stationed in Fort Riley, Kan., after boot camp. He was then transferred to Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. Ervin was active in the Army until 1955, and on inactive status from 1955-1961. After his discharge, he returned home. He then moved to Bismarck, and in 1956, began working for Taxi 9000.

He married Marie Jans, July 14, 1959, in McClusky. They resided in Mercer, where he worked for Rust Manufacturing. They moved back to Bismarck in 1971, where he worked for Melroe until 1979. He then went to work for the North Dakota Highway Department until his retirement in 1995. Ervin began driving for Taxi 9000 again in 1997, which he loved.

He also enjoyed fishing, camping and singing to Hank Williams. He was a very honest man, who was loved by everyone and will be missed. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Marie; four sons and daughters-in-law, Ervin Jr. and Sandy, Bismarck, James and Ann, Springtown, Texas, Jeff and Sue, Bismarck, and Bryan and Sue, Eureka, Kan.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Loranna and Wayne Bauer, Minot, Sharon and Chuck Kaiser, and DeAnn Jacobson, all of Bismarck; 19 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter, Kortnee Bauer; his mother, Ethel, Bismarck; and his brother, Orville, Wing.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl; one sister, Clara Zimmer; and a baby boy Jacobson (stillborn).

James Thompson
James R. Thompson, 65, Minneapolis, formerly of Bismarck, died July 26, 1997, in a Minneapolis hospital. Services will be held at noon Thursday at Boelter Funeral Home, with the Rev. David O. Walters officiating. Burial will be in Ahola Cemetery, Wing.

Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m.-noon Thursday at Boelter Funeral Home.

James was born Aug. 9, 1931, in Cokato, Minn., the son of Lee and Sylvia (Kennila) Thompson. He was raised and educated in Wing rural schools. James farmed on the family farm for a few years before entering the U.S. Army in 1955, where he was a heavy equipment instructor. In 1958, he was honorably discharged. He returned to Wing and worked on the family farm. In the late 1960s he moved to Bismarck. In 1994, he entered the Veterans Nursing Home in Minneapolis, where he resided until his death.

He is survived by one daughter, Valerie Thompson, Las Vegas; one sister, Anna Mae Folmer, Wing; one brother and sister-in-law, Stanley and Lenora, Wing; five nephews; and three nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one niece.

Marlin Frafford
HALLIDAY -- Marlin Frafford, 77, Halliday, died July 25, 1997, in the Dickinson hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Wednesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Halliday, with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Solway; three sons, Gary, Glendale, Ariz., Dennis and Mark, both of Halliday; two daughters, Joan Faser, Peoria, Ariz., and Diane Sailer, Almont; one brother, Loren, Bellingham, Wash.; and three sisters, Elaine Erhardt, Overland Park, Kan., Marion Metz, Kennewick, Wash., and Ruby Furth, Portland, Ore. (Seibel Funeral Home, Beulah)

Mabel Eggleston
KINTYRE -- Mabel Eggleston, 70, Seattle, died Oct. 8, 1997, in Seattle. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Acacia Funeral Home, Seattle.

She is survived by two sons, Ron, Franktown, Colo., and Douglas, Seattle; two daughters, Pamela Bakke, Seattle, and Donna Combs, Everett, Wash.; three sisters, Lillian McNabb, Lynnwood, Wash., Violet Ward, Shelton, Wash., and Marnie McCay, Bismarck; and two brothers, Donald Holapa, Kingston, Idaho, and Carl Holapa, Virginia.

Rofena Ripplinger
Rofena Ripplinger, 82, Mandan, died July 28, 1997, in the Mandan nursing home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan. Further arrangements are pending at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan.

George Pehl Jr.
STEELE -- George Pehl Jr., 89, Steele, died July 26, 1997, in the nursing home. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Further arrangements are pending at Boelter Funeral Home.

Clara Clifton
DICKINSON -- Clara Clifton, 65, Dickinson, died July 28, 1997, in the Dickinson hospital. Memorial services were held July 29 at Hillside Baptist Church, Dickinson, with burial in Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno, Calif.

She is survived by four sons, Bill Jr., Gillette, Wyo., Bob, Galt, Calif., Dale, Wolverton, Minn., and Larry, Dickinson; one brother; and four sisters. (Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson)

Diana Armstrong

MOTT -- Rose P. Lindemann, 75, Mott, died July 28, 1997, in the Mott nursing home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. MDT today at Church of St. Vincent de Paul, Mott, with burial in the church cemetery.

She is survived by two sons, LeRoy, Baker,Mont., and Richard, Mott; one daughter, Sharon Norby, Hettinger; and one sister, Betty Lindemann, Dickinson. (Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home, Mott)

Rofena Ripplinger
Rofena Ripplinger, 83, Mandan, formerly of Flasher, died July 28, 1997, in the Mandan nursing home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, with burial in Mandan Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, where a rosary will be said at 7 tonight, followed by a parish vigil at 7:30, and a Christian Mothers rosary will be said at 8. Visitation will continue one hour before services.

Rofena Miller was born March 15, 1914, at Raleigh, the daughter of Pete and Katherine (Leintz) Miller. She married Alex Ripplinger, April 13, 1937, at St. Philomena's Catholic Church, Selfridge. They farmed together in the Selfridge, Carson and Flasher areas for many years and moved to Mandan in 1991. Rofena became a resident of the Medcenter One Care Center in 1994.

She was born and raised on the family farm and learned to love the life that farming with Alex gave them. An excellent cook and baker, her German specialties were a treat for the whole family. Her grandchildren held a uniquely special place in her heart.

Rofena was dearly loved and will be missed by many, including her husband, Alex; one daughter and son-in-law, Loretta and Steven Riehl, Bismarck; three sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Jo, Mandan, Clarence and Marilyn, Bismarck, and Ervin and Janet, Flasher; eight grandchildren, Kim Zachmeier, Kent Ripplinger, Kay Vogel, Robin Nelson, Todd Hopfauf, Tammy Backhaus, and Stacy and Troy Ripplinger; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Dorothy Boyd, Duluth, Minn., and Anna Marie Ternes, Bismarck.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Alvin; two sisters; and five brothers.
