Glen Steckler Sr.
Glen Dale Steckler Sr., 61, formerly of Huff, died Nov. 15, 1997, at his home in Lexington, Okla. Military graveside services were held Nov. 19 at Hillside Cemetery in Percell, Okla.

He is survived by his wife, Ida Mae; two sons, Glen Jr. and Gary, both of Denver; two daughters, Debbie Ornelas, Boise, Idaho, and Sherry Hagemyer, Denver; one brother, Harry, Peoria, Ariz.; six sisters, Ann Tishmack, La Grande, Ore., Veronica Carson, Casper, Wyo., Annabelle McFate, Pleasant Grove, Utah, Lorraine Millar, Huff, Loretta Bungert, Farmington, Minn., and Geraldine Cochran, Gun Barrel City, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nat and Frances Steckler; and one brother, Larry.

Donald Sholts
Donald Herbert Sholts, 81, Fergus Falls, Minn., formerly of Hazelton, died Nov. 20, 1997, at his home. Services were held Nov. 22, 1997, at Grace United Methodist Church, Fergus Falls. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Walker, Minn.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; two daughters, Dee Lonski, West Fargo, and Sheri Nagle, Fargo; two sons, Gary, West Fargo, and Alan, Alexandria, Minn.; two sisters, Fern Hannah and Faye Sauer, both of San Jose, Calif.; and two brothers, Maynard, Bismarck, and Russell, Luling, Texas. Albert Lang
NAPOLEON -- Albert E. Lang, Napoleon, died Nov. 20, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Funeral arrangements are pending and will be held at a later date when Leona's health permits.

He is survived by his wife, Leona; one son, Wayne, Napoleon; two daughters, Pam Glatt and Sheila Dewald, both of Napoleon; his mother, Emelia Lang, Napoleon; two brothers, Ruben and Marvin, both of Napoleon; and one sister, Eleanor Wentz, Bismarck. (Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Napoleon)

Kurt Storm
Kurt Storm, 88, Lemmon, S.D., died Nov. 23, 1997, in a Lemmon hospital. Services will be held at St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lemmon. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery, Lemmon.

He is survived by his wife, Grace; two sons, Edgar, Grassy Butte, and Ralph, Webster City, Iowa; two daughters, Luana Schoon, Thunder Hawk, S.D., and Rosemary Klatt, Watertown, S.D.; and one sister, Gertrude Larson, Thunder Hawk. (Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home, Lemmon)

Andalena Amann
DICKINSON -- Andalena Amann, 96, Dickinson, died Nov. 23, 1997, in a Dickinson nursing home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MST Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Richardton. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

She is survived by one daughter, Elvira Marang, Miles City, Mont.; one son, Ray, Richardton; and one brother, John Schaaf, West Virginia. (Mischel-Olson Chapel, Dickinson)

Eva Messer
PARSHALL -- Eva Messer, 85, Parshall, died Nov. 24, 1997, in a Parshall nursing home. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. MST Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Richardton. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She is survived by three brothers, Nick and Val T., both of Dickinson, and Frank, Richardton. (Mischel-Olson Chapel, Dickinson)

Freda Starkey
Freda C. Starkey, 79, Lemmon, S.D., died Nov. 22, 1997, in a Lemmon nursing home. Further arrangements are pending with Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home, Lemmon.

Esther Munsch
Esther L. Munsch, 90, Bismarck, died Nov. 24, 1997 in a Bismarck hospital. Arrangements are pending with Bismarck Funeral Home.

Loraine Hardmeyer
A funeral mass of cremation will be held at 10-30 a.m. MST Saturday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Mott, for Loraine Antonia Hardmeyer, 77, former Mott resident. A wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the church.

Loraine died of cancer, Nov. 21, 1997, in her home on Woman Lake near Longville, Minn. At the time of her death, Loraine was in home hospice care, lovingly provided by her husband, Theodore, and their children.

She was born Feb. 16, 1920, at Milwaukee, to Nettie and Elmer Krause and graduated from high school there. She was employed at a bank and met and later married Ted, a student at Marquette University, on Aug. 31, 1940. The couple moved to Mott and then back to Milwaukee, where Ted completed his university degree. They returned to Mott in 1951. Ted and Loraine owned H&J Implement, a farm implement business on Mott's Main Street, and Loraine supported Ted during a political career as mayor of Mott and member of the State Legislature. In addition to raising 12 children, Loraine was bookkeeper for H&J and for many years served as a member of the Mott Public Library Board.

The couple retired from H&J in 1985 and moved to a home they built on Woman Lake so that Loraine could live her retirement years in the lake and pinewoods setting she had loved since her Wisconsin childhood. They spent winters in Weslaco, Texas, among friends. Loraine was an unofficial resident of Progresso, Mexico, a small village near Weslaco. She assisted a young Mexican family that she dearly loved and frequently took food, toys and clothing to the people and children of Progresso.

Loraine was a true gentlewoman, with a kind and loving spirit. She was a great lover of literature and archaeology and had a special interest in traveling with her husband and children. To her children, she gave the gifts of the world of books and a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature.

She is survived by her husband, Ted, Longville; 11 children; eight granddaughters; 16 grandsons; one great-grandson; and a brother.

Her daughters will serve as their mother's pallbearers. They are Judith Hardmeyer-Wright and husband, David, Bremerton, Wash., Jane Baker and husband Steve, Hackensack, Minn., Mary Beth Hardmeyer, Lummi Island, Wash., Lauren Donovan and husband Patrick, Hazen, Andrea Bacik and husband Mark, Seattle, and Lisa Hardmeyer Gray and husband Bruce, Seattle. Her oldest daughter, Denise Ann Guthrie, preceded her in death.

Loraine's five sons are Kent and wife Shirley, Newton, N.J., Steven and wife Mary, Alaska and Longville, Theodore and wife Julie, Moorhead, Minn., Eric and wife Laura, Bismarck, and Evan and wife Peggy, Portland, Ore.

Her brother, Al and wife Carol, live in Lake Tahoe, Nev. Loraine's younger brother, Laurel, preceded her in death.

Loraine supported the work of Habitat for Humanity in providing shelter for the impoverished. Memorials may be sent to: Habitat for Humanity Intl., 322 W. Lamar St., Americus, Ga. 31709.

Marie Heine
HAZEN -- Marie Heine, 88, formerly of Hazen, died Nov. 24, 1997, in a Dickinson nursing home. Services will be held at 9 a.m. MST Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, rural Hazen. Further arrangements are pending at Seibel Funeral Home, Hazen.

Mary Held
Mary Held, 87, 420 E. Main Ave., died Nov. 25, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Arrangements are pending at Perry Funeral Home, Mandan.

Clyde Walker
LEMMON, S.D. -- Clyde Jacob Walker, 46, Lemmon, died of an accident, Nov. 22, 1997, in Lemmon. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. MST Friday at Southern Baptist Church, Mobridge. Further arrangements are pending at Larson Funeral Home, Mobridge.

Viola Hoff
UNDERWOOD -- Viola Hoff, 77, Underwood, died Nov. 25, 1997, in the Garrison hospital. Arrangements are pending at Goetz Funeral Home, Underwood.

Otto Groszhans
ASHLEY -- Otto Groszhans, 87, Ashley, died Nov. 24, 1997, in the Ashley nursing home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church, Ashley. Further arrangements are pending at Carlsen Funeral Home, Ashley.

Robert Mosley
LEMMON, S.D. -- Robert Mosley, 77, Lemmon, died Nov. 25, 1997, in the Hettinger hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. MST Friday at Spencer Memorial Presbyterian Church, Lemmon, with burial in Greenhill Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Laura; two sons, Roger, Lemmon, and Vernon, South St. Paul, Minn.; one daughter, Donna Hanson, Gettysburg, S.D. (Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home, Lemmon)

Leslie Lorge
BOWMAN -- Leslie K. Lorge, 73, Bowman, died Nov. 24, 1997, in her home of cancer. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MST today at St. Charles Catholic Church, Bowman, with burial at a later date.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; three sons, L.K. and Farrell, both of Amidon, and Kelly, Bowman; two daughters, Barbe Hendrickson, Fairfield, and Ruth Lorge, Ponchatoul, La.; and one brother, James Hoffman, Spokane, Wash. (Krebsbach Funeral Service, Bowman)

Clara Johnson
WILLISTON -- Clara Johnson, 84, Williston, died Nov. 25, 1997, in the Williston nursing home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church, Williston. Further arrangements are pending at Everson Funeral Home, Williston.

Burnett Stenson
DEVILS LAKE -- Burnett Stenson, 73, Devils Lake, died Nov. 25, 1997, in his home of cancer. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Devils Lake, with burial in Turtle Lake Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Violet; one daughter, Vicki Peterson, Fargo; one son, Kurt, Woodbury, Minn.; one brother, Elmer, Devils Lake, and one sister, Ellen Romsaas, Bismarck. (Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake)

June Churchill
MCCLUSKY -- June E. Churchill, 82, McClusky, died Feb. 13, 1998, in a Bismarck nursing home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at Grace Lutheran Church, McClusky. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Rhinelander, Wis.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, at Hertz Funeral Home, McClusky.

June Rainey was born on June 28, 1915 at Medford, Wis. She was the daughter of Charles and Mary (Zapfe) Rainey. She grew up in the Medford area and graduated from high school there. She married Arthur E. Churchill on Jan. 11, 1939 at Brainerd, Minn. They lived in Minot for a time before moving to Larimore. While living in Larimore, she was the clothing buyer at the Grand Forks Air Force Base Exchange (BX). They later moved to Grand Forks where she was the Sears Boys Department manager until 1970. They moved to McClusky and helped manage the McClusky Clothing Store until retiring in 1978. They moved to Rhinelander, Wis. He died in 1987. She returned to McClusky and entered the St. Vincent's Care Center in Bismarck in 1991.

June was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, McClusky.

She is survived by one daughter, Nona Markovic, Bismarck; one son, Roger, Lisbon; four grandchildren and their spouses, Mark and Lynelle Markovic, Becker, Minn., Sherry and Kevin Korus, Denhoff, Scott and Carol Markovic, Mandan, and Shawn and Jessie Markovic, Bismarck; seven grandchildren, Nichole and Brett Johnson, Curtis and Chelsey Markovic, Callie and Morgan Markovic, and Madison Markovic; and one sister, Edna Linn, Rhinelander, Wis.

June was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers and one sister. (Hertz Funeral Home, McClusky)

Selma Nutz
Selma Nutz, 85, Harvey, died Feb. 10, 1998, in the Harvey hospital. Services will now be held at 2 p.m. today, at First Congregational Church, Harvey. (Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey)

B.J. Krenz
B.J. Monson Krenz, 47, Flower Mound, Texas, formerly of Litchville, died Feb. 6, 1998 at her home. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, at First Lutheran Church, Litchville. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, Litchville.

She is survived by her husband, Les; her parents, Lowell and Willa Mae Monson, Litchville; one daughter, Cassandra Krena, Valley City; two sons, Joshua Krenz, Fargo, and Brandon Krenz, Flower Mound; two sisters, Corinne Erwin, Falls Church, Virg., and Mavis Monson, Bismarck; two brothers, Marlowe Monson, Fargo, and Thomes Monson, Valley City; and her grandmother, Lillian Monson, Jamestown. Mary Heer
LINTON -- Mary F. Heer, 85, formerly of Linton, died Feb. 14, 1998, in a Strasburg nursing home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Linton. Further arrangements are pending with Myers Funeral Home, Linton.

Alec Lausen
BEULAH -- Alec Lausen, 19, Beulah, died Feb. 13, 1998, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident south of Beulah. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MST Tuesday, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Beulah. Further arrangements are pending with Seibel Funeral Home, Beulah.

Harold Finzel
DICKINSON -- Harold Finzel, 73, Dickinson, died Feb. 14, 1998, in an Oakes nursing home. Arrangements are pending with Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson.

Donna Slagle
Donna L. Slagle, 80, died Dec. 3, 1998, in a Vienna nursing home. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at Sharon Lutheran Church, Grand Forks.

She is survived by one sister, Flo Cohn, Waynesville; two brothers, Lloyd Phillips, Waynesville, and Jim Phillips, Bendena, Kan.
