KULM -- Ben Koenig, 76, Kulm, died Jan. 24, 1998, at his home. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church, Kulm. Burial will be in Kulm Congregational Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Edna; two daughters, Nancy Hieb, Midland, Mich., and Kathryn Martin, Lawrence, Kan.; one son, Tom, Lawrence, Kan.; and two sisters, Martha Welk, Kulm, and Hulda Fischer, Aberdeen, S.D. (Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Kulm)

Minnie Davis
HAZEN -- Minnie M. Davis, 100, Hazen, died Jan. 22, 1998, in a Beulah nursing home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. MST Wednesday at St. Martin's Catholic Church, Hazen. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She is survived by one daughter, Lucille Domagala, Eugene, Ore.; one son, Lloyd, Everett, Wash.; and one brother, Irving Fitzgerald, Mount Vernon, Wash. (Seibel Funeral Home, Hazen)

David Dobovsky
David Dobovsky, 61, Minneapolis, recently died of natural causes at home while sleeping. Services were held on Jan. 19, 1998, at Andrew Riverside Presbyterian Church, Minneapolis.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Taylor Dobovsky; one daughter, Jennifer; two sons, Steve and Scott; two brothers, Jack and Phillip; two sisters, Sandy and Leah; and his mother-in-law, Ardeth Taylor, Bismarck.

Elsie Larson
DICKINSON -- Elsie Clark Larson, 97, Dickinson, formerly of Belfield, died Jan. 24, 1998, in the Dickinson hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. MST Wednesday at Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery Dickinson.

She is survived by two sons, Duane F. Clark, New England, and Warren J. Clark, Dickinson. (Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson)

Lola Schubert
Lola Brannan Schubert, 92, Bismarck, and formerly of Jamestown, died Jan. 23, 1998, at her home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. today at The Basilica of St. James, Jamestown. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown.

She is survived by one daughter, Jackie Anderson, Bismarck; and one son, Dan, Bismarck. (Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown)

Phyllis Griffin
Phyllis Williams Griffin, 70, Janesville, Wis., and formerly of Wing, died Jan. 25, 1998, at her home of pancreatic cancer.

She is survived by her husband, Douglas Griffin, Janesville, Wis.; one stepson, Lindon; one sister, Gladys Oderman, Jackson, Ky.; and one brother, Harold Williams, Wing.

Selmer Medhus
LEEDS -- Selmer J. Medhus, 90, Leeds, died Jan. 25, 1998, in the Rugby hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Leeds Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He is survived by one sister-in-law, Pearl Medhus, Leeds. (Nelson Funeral Home, Leeds)

Adam Patzner
Adam Patzner, 67, 1222 E. Thayer Ave., Bismarck, died Jan. 25, 1998, at his home. Service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Boelter Funeral Home, Bismarck. Further arrangements are pending with Boelter Funeral Home.

Mathilda Friesz
Mathilda Friesz, 81, 126 Boise Ave., Bismarck, died Jan. 26, 1998, at her home. Arrangements are pending with Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan.

Michael Logelin
Michael Logelin, 29, Bismarck, died Jan. 23, 1998, in a Bismarck hospital. Further arrangements are pending with Bismarck Funeral Home.

Edward Freier
Edward Freier, 83, Bismarck, died Jan. 26, 1998, in a Bismarck nursing home. Arrangements are pending with Bismarck Funeral Home.

Elny Sundquist
WILTON -- Elny Sundquist, 85, Wilton, died July 4, 1999, in the Underwood nursing home. Services will be held at 10-30 a.m. Wednesday at Sunne Lutheran Church, rural Wilton, with the Rev. Paul Schauer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1:30-8 p.m. today, at Goetz Funeral Home, Washburn, and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

Elny Anderson was born April 20, 1914, at Kvissle Njurunda, Sweden, to Andrew and Anna (Selahn) Anderson. She came to the United States with her family on Oct. 5, 1915. They settled in the Baldwin area, where she grew up and attended rural schools, and helped her parents on the farm. She married Emil "Erik" Sundquist on Feb. 16, 1939, at Bismarck. They lived and farmed in Ghylin Township in Burleigh County, east of Wilton. Elny worked on the farm doing everything from milking cows and raising chickens, to picking rocks and making hay. She liked gardening and canning fruits and vegetables. In her spare time, she made patchwork quilts and embroidered. She made quilts for each of her family members as well as sewing quilt tops for Lutheran World Relief. Emil died on Sept. 20, 1964. She continued to make her home on the farm and in 1968, was baptized and confirmed as a member of the Sunne Lutheran Church. She also became a naturalized U.S. citizen that year. In 1996, ill health forced her to move into Wilton where she lived with her daughter and son-in-law. She had been a resident of the Prairieview Nursing Home for the past 11 days.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Rodney Peterson, Wilton, and Elsie and Leonard Wilson, Deer Island, Ore.; seven grandchildren, Sherry Wilson, Deer Island, and fiance Norm; Paladeni, Tillamook, Ore., Scott and Monica Peterson, Kansas City, Mo., Richard Wilson, Zap, Kathy Dollinger, Jamestown, Julie and Steven Decious, Garrison, Wayne Peterson, Wilton, and special friend, Veronica Feist, Bismarck; and Dale Wilson, Zap; seven great-grandchildren, Jeremy Wilson, Erick and Dana Peterson, Lacey and Caitlyn Dollinger, and Brianna and Rochelle Decious.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and five brothers, Walter, Ture, Henry, Fred and Harry.

Memorials may be made to the Sunne Lutheran Church, or to a charity of the donor's choice. (Goetz Funeral Home, Washburn)

WISHEK -- Clarence J. Welk, 73, Wishek, died July 5, 1999, in the Linton hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Wishek. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Rose; six sons and seven daughters, Karen Bakkegard, Fargo, Geraldine Welk, Fargo, Gerald, Wishek, Patricia Mootz, West Fargo, Robert, Bismarck, David, Wishek, Donald, Wishek, Cynthia Garcia, Indianapolis, Ind., Beverly Vilhauer, Wishek, Janet Lautt, Fredonia, Henrietta Welk, Harlingen, Texas, Kevin, Fisher, Ind., and Keith, Indianapolis; seven brothers and two sisters, Alouis, Rapid City, S.D., Eugene, Strasburg, Sally Ibach, Linton, Leo, Fargo, Donald, Milwaukee, Wis., Francis, Milwaukee, Ann Fitzsimmons, Tampa, Fla., John, Madison, Wis., and Herman, Morgan Hills, Calif. Cheryl Mindt
Cheryl Ann Mindt, 50, Cambridge, Minn., and formerly of Harvey, died July 1, 1999, in a Minneapolis hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Peace Lutheran Church, Goodrich. Burial will be in Goodrich City Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Garvin; one son, Mike, Dalbo, Minn.; one daughter, Susan Sparks, Isanti, Minn.; her mother, Devella Vik, Harvey; one brother, Terry Dockter, Wyoming, Minn.; and her sisters, Sandra Goudge, Wyoming, Minn., Bonnie Keiwel, Fargo, and Cindy Jones, Salida, Colo. Valerie Morast
BEULAH -- Valerie Morast, 26, Beulah, died July 4, 1999, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Thursday at Concordia Lutheran Church, Beulah. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, north of Zap.

She is survived by her parents, Wilma and Walter, Zap; two children, Tayler and Reed Johnson, both at home; two sisters, Vicki Batroot, Stacy, Minn., and Vonnie Reinhardt, Zap; and one brother, Veryl Morast, Zap. (Seibel Funeral Home, Beulah)

Martha Hust
JAMESTOWN -- Martha Hust, 83, Jamestown, died July 3, 1999, in a Jamestown hospital. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Jamestown. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown.

She is survived by three daughters, Janet Mittleider, Jamestown, Shirley Dunham, Auburn, Wash., and Linda Marsh, Pierre, S.D.; two sons, Gary, Bismarck, and Pat, Moorhead, Minn.; and one sister, Amelia Fuller, Driscoll. (Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown)

Orville Renbarger
KEENE -- Orville J. Renbarger, 76, Keene, died July 3, 1999, in the Watford City nursing home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Keene First Lutheran Church, with burial in Garden Valley Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda; two daughters, Margaret Renbarger, Mandan, and Marcy Hilleren; one brother, Byron, Watford City; and one sister, Evelyn Bruins, Hayden Lake, Idaho. (Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City)
