Oliver Tosseth
Oliver Tosseth, 84, Bismarck, died April 26, 1999, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at House of Prayer Lutheran Church, 1470 S. Washington St., Bismarck, with the Rev. David Swonger officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.

Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday at Eastgate Funeral Service, and will continue at the church one hour before services.

Oliver was born Sept. 3, 1914, on the home farm in Ghylin Township, Wilton, to Arnt and Ingeborg (Wangseng) Tosseth. He grew up southeast of Wilton and attended rural school and graduated from high school in 1932.

Following graduation he worked as a farm laborer and in the underground coal mines near Wilton. He married Thelma Hanson in 1937. He then began working for A.L. Tourtlotte General Store in Regan. He purchased the store in 1945 and continued to operate it as Tosseth's Super Valu until 1969.

He married Solveig Nord at Wilton in 1966. She died in December of 1969. He then moved to Powers Lake to join his son, Larry, in the Super Valu Store. On June 3, 1972, he married Esther Vixo. They made their home in Powers Lake until his retirement in 1978, at which time they moved to Bismarck. Esther died in February 1995.

Oliver was always active in all community affairs and events. He had a keen interest in all high school sports and was an avid reader. He will always be remembered for his kindness and patience with everyone he came in contact with. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and looked forward to his "afternoon coffee group." He was a member of House of Prayer Lutheran Church, and his association was important and close to him.

He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Carole; two stepdaughters, Elaine Williams, Baraboo, Wis., and Sharon Vixo, Jamestown; nine grandchildren, Trent Tosseth, Corinne Mazzochetti and her husband, David, Dean Tosseth and his wife, Kristi, Brad Williams and his wife, Colleen, Brian Williams and his wife, Birute, Blake Williams and his wife, Angela, Dove Watkin and her husband, Tracey, Tammie Vernon and her husband, Kent, and Colleen Boe; 12 great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Natalie Mazzochetti, Madison Tosseth, Ethan and Evan Williams, Monica, Bennett and Audrey Williams, Thomas and Bridget Williams, Katelyn Watkin, Annika and Brandt Vernon; and two sisters, Hannah Perkins, Bismarck, and Agnes Watkins, Middleton, Wis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and four sisters.

Alma Sherman
DRISCOLL -- Alma Sherman, 84, Driscoll, died April 27, 1999, in a Mandan nursing home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Perry Funeral Home, Mandan, with the Rev. Jim Cissell officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and will continue one hour before services.

Alma was born May 17, 1914, near Regent, to John and Frieda (Pertner) Monke. She was raised and attended school at Regent. She married Clarence Sherman June 11, 1939, at Regent. They farmed near Menoken until 1942, when they moved to a farm southeast of Sterling and retired in 1997.

Alma served as Taft Township clerk, taught Sunday school at the Moffit Methodist Church for many years, and was a member of the Sterling Methodist Church. She loved to crochet and do crossword puzzles, and had a green thumb for her houseplants and garden. She was very fond of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and always looked forward to their visits to her home and farm.

She is survived by her husband, Clarence; two daughters and one son-in-law, Linda Hugelen, Selfridge, Clara and John Yonker, Bismarck; two sons and daughters-in-law, Albert and Virginia, Mandan, and John and Norma, Bismarck; six grandchildren, Darin, Ross and Ryan Sherman, Mandy Sherman, Dan Hugelen, and Kristin Dvorak; four great-grandchildren, Carla Kraft, Lindsey and Devin Dvorak, and Derek Dutke-Hugelen; and two brothers, Elmer Monke, Dickinson, and Willis Monke, Regent.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; and four brothers.

Lori Kluzak
Lori Kluzak, 38, Mandan, died April 25, 1999, of natural causes in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, at First Lutheran Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Paul D. Fiske officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, where a prayer service will begin at 7:30 tonight. There will be no reviewal at the church.

Lori Rychlik was born on Feb. 18, 1961, in Mandan, the daughter of Charles and Ethel (Bruggeman) Rychlik. A 1979 graduate of Mandan High School, she married John Kluzak on Sept. 19, 1987, in Mandan, where they have made their home since.

Lori was employed for 16 years with the Dental Associates in Mandan. A devoted mother to her two sons, she loved to cook and bake. She particularly enjoyed being outdoors and camping trips with family and friends.

She will be deeply missed by all who survive her, including her husband, John; her two sons, Matthew and Christopher, both at home; her mother, Ethel Rychlik, Mandan; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Karen Rychlik, and Don and Marlys Rychlik, all of Mandan; her mother and father-in-law, Paul and Mona Kluzak, Grand Forks; her nieces and nephews, Tessa and Trista Rychlik, Lisa Anderson and her husband, Jim, and Nicole and Nathaniel Rychlik; and one great-nephew, Samuel Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Rychlik, who died on April 27, 1992.

Bertha Graff
TAPPEN -- Services for Bertha Graff, 85, a longtime Tappen resident, who died April 24, 1999, in Bismarck, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Tappen, with the Rev. William Russow officiating. Burial will be in Fisher Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Friday at Perry Funeral Home, Mandan, and will continue at the church one hour before services.

Bertha Inger (Haadem) Graff was born Nov. 28, 1913, to Ole and Ann (Ree) Haadem. She attended rural Kidder County schools. She married Samuel Graff at Steele and they made their home at the Graff homestead southeast of Tappen.

Bertha enjoyed birdwatching on the family farm. She also had a special interest in quilting, and enjoyed both flower and vegetable gardening.

She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Dorothea Graff, Bismarck, and Carol and Louis Goosey, Livingston, Mont.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel; her son, Oris; three brothers and two sisters.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be sent to Alzheimer's Association, 411 N. Fourth St., Bismarck, N.D. 58501.

Charles McCabe
WATFORD CITY -- Charles E. McCabe, 73, Watford City, died April 26, 1999, in the Watford City hospital. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Epiphany Catholic Church, Watford City, with burial in Schafer Cemetery, Watford City.

He is survived by his wife, Eunice; one son, Thomas, Alexander; one daughter, Paula Brown, Keene; one brother, John, Dakota, Minn.; and three sisters, Lila Thesing, Winona, Minn., Margaret Schultz, La Crosse, Wis., and Mary Gunderson, Watford City. (Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City)

Irma Kvislen
JAMESTOWN -- Irma M. Kvislen, 75, Jamestown, died April 26, 1999, in her home. Services will be 3 p.m. Friday at United Presbyterian Church, Jamestown, with burial in Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown.

She is survived by her husband, Donald; one daughter, Kathy, Jamestown; three sons, Donald Jr., Modesto, Calif., Kent, North Mankato, Minn., and Kyle, Bismarck; one brother, Jack Mueller, Dearborn, Mich.; and one sister, Rae Ann Paulson, Jamestown. (Haut Funeral Home, Jamestown)

Myrtle Fox
KILLDEER -- Myrtle Fox, 59, Killdeer, died April 25, 1999, in her home. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, New Town, with burial in the Congregational Cemetery, rural New Town.

She is survived by two sons, Anthony, Parshall, and Edward, New Town; and five daughters, Paula Danks and Karen Fox, both of Killdeer, Carmen Two Bears, Cannon Ball, Sharyle Fox, Mandaree, and Claudia Lyson, New Town. (Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City)

Virgil Hoyer
WASHBURN -- Virgil W. Hoyer, 75, Underwood, died April 27, 1999, in the Underwood nursing home. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, Washburn.

He is survived by his wife, Agnes; three sons, Jeffrey, Knoxville, Tenn., Brodrick, Indianapolis, and Denton, Chatham, N.J.; one daughter, Angelia Frankenfeld, Wichita, Kan.; two sisters, Vivian Simms, Washburn, and Florence Holmes, Miles City, Mont.; and one brother, Bruce, Chamberlain, S.D. Vern Christiansen
REGAN -- Vern Christiansen, 58, Regan, died April 26, 1999, in a farm accident. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, Wilton, with burial in Baldwin Cemetery.

He is survived by two sons, Jeffrey and Justin; two daughters, Janice and Jolyn; his mother, Lourene, Wilton; two brothers, Lyle and Russell, both of Bismarck; and three sisters, Donna Kelly, Texas, Marlys Olson, Regan, and Pat Andahl, Bismarck. (Bismarck Funeral Home)

Arnold Stokes
CARRINGTON -- Arnold Stokes, 88, Carrington, died Jan. 30, 1999, in Reno, Nev. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Carrington, with burial in Carrington Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Emma; one daughter, Linda Hunt, Reno; one son, Dallas, Redondo Beach, Calif.; and three sisters, Minnie Overbeck, Melba Bichler, Spokane, Wash., and Elaine Burleson, Yuma, Ariz. (Evans Funeral Home, Carrington)

Mary McKenzie
WILLISTON -- Mary McKenzie, 92, Williston, died April 25, 1999, in the Williston nursing home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Williston, with burial in Riverview Cemetery, Williston.

She is survived by four sons, Lloyd, Williston, Vern, Anchorage, Alaska, Willie, Billings, Mont., and Robert, Springfield, Ore.; one daughter, Dorothy McGrady, Billings. (Everson Funeral Home, Williston)

Hazel Severinson
Hazel M. Severinson, 97, Moorhead, Minn., died April 26, 1999, in a Moorhead nursing home. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown, with burial in Minnewaukan Cemetery.

She is survived by two daughters, Wilma Johnson, Alexandria, Minn., and Rosemary Johnson, Rothsay, Minn.; and two brothers, Vernon Caine, Jacksonville, Ill., and Clifford Caine, Saratoga Springs, N.Y. (Haut Funeral Home, Jamestown)

Lydia Heiser
DICKINSON -- Lydia Heiser, 87, Dickinson, died April 24, 1999, in a Dickinson nursing home. Services will be 2 p.m. today at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Dickinson, with burial in the church cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph; two sons, Casper and Glenn, both of Dickinson; one daughter, Bernice Shreve, Dickinson; and one sister, Harriet Olheiser, Dickinson. (Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson)

Einar Jacobson
PARSHALL -- Einar Jacobson, 84, Parshall, died April 26, 1999, in a Parshall nursing home. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Parshall, with burial in Parshall Cemetery.

He is survived by two sons, Larry and Curtis, both of Parshall; one daughter, Sandra Pevek, Waubun, Minn.; and one sister, Myrtle Mohr, New Richmond, Wis. (Johnson Funeral Home, Parshall)

Lloyd Jordre
OBERON -- Lloyd T. Jordre, 85, Oberon, died April 26, 1999, in his home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Calvary Lutheran Church, Oberon, with burial in Hillside Cemetery, Oberon.

He is survived by his wife, Vi; one son, Nyle, Aurora, Colo.; four brothers, Lynn, Sheyenne, Irvin, Bismarck, Clarence and Ernest, both of Oberon. (Nelson Funeral Home, Maddock)

Erling Hendrickson
A special service for Erling Hendrickson will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Dakota Memorial Chapel, 122 E. Rosser Ave., Bismarck, with the Rev. Steve Sathre officiating. Erling died earlier in the winter at the age of 80.

A graveside burial of his ashes will take place at 11:30 a.m. Sunday at Vang Lutheran Cemetery, rural Dunn Center.

Joseph Iglehart
GARRISON -- Joseph Iglehart, 34, Garrison, died April 26, 1999, in the Garrison hospital of injuries sustained in a farm accident. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Garrison. Further arrangements are pending at Thompson Funeral Home, Garrison.

Edwin Harter
ASHLEY -- Edwin Harter, 87, Ashley, died April 26, 1999, in the Ashley nursing home. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Further arrangements are pending at Carlsen Funeral Home, Ashley.

Julia Enderle
RICHARDTON -- Julia Enderle, 75, Richardton, died April 25, 1999, in her home. Services will be 10 a.m. MDT Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Richardton. Further arrangements are pending at Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson.
