Howard Olson, 61, Mandan, died April 27, 1999, in a Bismarck hospital. Arrangements are pending at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Elizabeth Weber
DICKINSON -- Elizabeth Weber, 94, Dickinson, died July 9, 1997, in the Dickinson hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Saturday, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, with burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery, both of Dickinson.

She is survived by three daughters, Lydia Steiner and Dolores Mischel, both of Dickinson, and Gloria Baker, Spearfish, S.D.; and two sons, Joe, Frisco, Texas, and Ed, Minneapolis. (Mischel-Olson Chapel, Dickinson)

Antonia Paluck
BELFIELD -- Antonia Paluck, 90, Belfield, died July 9, 1997, in the Dickinson hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Monday, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, with burial in St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery, both of Belfield. (Mischel-Olson Chapel, Dickinson)

Martha Seymour
STRASBURG -- Martha Seymour, 82, Strasburg, formerly of Pollock, S.D., died July 9, 1997, in the Linton hospital. Services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, at Pollock Memorial Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Floyd Haan officiating. Burial will be in Dale Cemetery, rural Pollock.

Visitation will be from noon to 4 p.m. today, at Myers Funeral Home, Linton, and will continue from 6 to 9 p.m., at the church, where a prayer service will be held at 8 p.m.

Martha was born Dec. 20, 1914, on a farm in the Gale Community, rural Pollock, S.D., the daughter of Christian and Karolina (Bieber) Wittmeier. She attended the Gale Rural School and attended Pollock High School. On July 2, 1934 she married Albert Seymour at Herreid, S.D., and they made their home on the family farm from 1934 to 1974. In 1974 they moved into Pollock. Her husband died Sept. 18, 1992, and Martha entered the Strasburg Nursing Home in January of 1995.

She was a member of Pollock Memorial Presbyterian Church, Neighborhood Birthday Club, Neighborhood Bible Study, Prayer Group, 5 and 20 Homemakers Club and Pollock Senior Citizens.

She is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Leslie and Ann, Orange, Calif., and Lowell and his fiancee, Gladys Dornbush, Pollock; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Harold Ryckman, Pollock, and Kathryn and John Rowerdink, Overland Park, Kan.; four granddaughters; six grandsons; one great-granddaughter; nine great-grandsons; one brother, Edwin Wittmeier, Chico, Calif.; and one sister, Emma Wittmeier Weber, Tacoma, Wash.

In addition to her husband, Martha was preceded in death by five brothers, William, Rudolph, Reinhold, David and Edward; and four sisters, Lydia Huff, Ann Conway, Kate Sjomeling and Bertha Wittmeier.

Carl Rueb
Carl Rueb, 91, Herreid, S.D., died July 7, 1997, at his home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at Assembly of God Church, Herreid. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Herreid.

He is survived by one son, Delbert, Herreid; one daughter, Maureen Johnson, Scottsdale, Ariz.; and two brothers, Jake, Bismarck, and Reinhold, Galt, Calif. (Myers Funeral Home, Linton)

Gloria Hauge
DICKINSON -- Gloria Hauge, 52, Dickinson, died July 10, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. MDT Monday, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dickinson. Further arrangements are pending with Mischel-Olson Chapel, Dickinson.

Joseph Wilhelmi
DEVILS LAKE -- Joseph E. Wilhelmi, 77, Devils Lake, died July 7, 1997, in a Grand Forks hospital. Services were held July 10, at Assumption of Mary Catholic Church, with burial in Assumption Catholic Cemetery, both of Starkweather.

He is survived by his wife, Ellen, Devils Lake; one son, Wayne, Red Bluff, Calif.; three daughters, Claudia Wilhelmi, Devils Lake, Joellen Roller, Bismarck, and Peggy Tierney, Walla Walla, Wash.; four brothers, Louis, Roundup, Mont., Leo, Starkweather, Rudy, Devils Lake, and the Rev. Richard, Bismarck; and two sisters, Mary Dietz, Chicago, and Leona Berg, Mandan. (Aaker, Dunnigan and Brooks Funeral Home, Devils Lake)

William Braun
William (Bill) Braun, 72, 701 15th St. N.W., Mandan, died July 8, 1997 in a Bismarck hospital. Private services were held July 10, at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan.

The son of Bartel and Monica (Dauenhauer) Braun, William was born April 1, 1925 in Mott. He was raised and educated in Mott, graduating from Mott High School in 1942. Bill was a member of U.S. Air Corp during World War II. Bill married Darlyne Svihovec, Oct. 2, 1946 in Mott. They moved to Mandan in 1969. Darlyne died Aug. 15, 1978. Bill was a salesman for Blue Cross/Blue Shield for 23 years, retiring in 1984. On May 31, 1980 Bill married Kathy Larson-Nelson in Fargo.

``Wild Bill" (Bill's given nickname) had a great sense of humor. He was an outgoing individual who enjoyed meeting people. Bill was famous for his chili and canned pickles. He enjoyed his garden and the gimmicks and many tools of various sizes required to maintain his garden. He was an avid golfer and fisherman. He loved the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy, Mandan; two sons and one daughter-in-law, David and Jennifer, Whitehouse, Ohio, and Richard, Las Vegas; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Becky and Kent Rhodes, Williston, Deb and Ken Bitz, Mandan, Karla Nelson and her friend, Marcus Jahner, Bismarck, and Cindy Nelson and her friend, Bobby Cadotte, Mandan; 11 grandchildren; one brother, Luke, Alameda, Calif.; one sister, Flora Larsheid, Wheatland, Wyo.; and two special friends, Damien Cadotte, Bismarck, and Todd Schmit, Las Vegas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Mark; and nine brothers and sisters.

The family prefers memorials to Christ the King School.

Magdalena Haydock
Magdalena Haydock, 91, Bismarck, died July 9, 1997, in a Bismarck nursing home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Goetz Funeral Home Chapel, Washburn. Burial will be in Washburn Baptist Cemetery.

She is survived by four sisters, Elsie Darr, Washburn, Sarah Kleinschmidt, Bismarck, Esther Nathan, Denver, and Viola Peterson, Fargo.

Pauline Lefor
DICKINSON -- Pauline Lefor, 97, Dickinson, died July 9, 1997, in the Dickinson hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Monday, at St. Elizabeth's Church, with burial in St. Elizabeth's Cemetery, both of Lefor.

She is survived by one son, Herbert, Dickinson; and two daughters, Eleanor Schiff, Forsyth, Mont., and Shirley Winchell, Missoula, Mont. (Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson)

William Huber
William E. Huber, 69, Bismarck, died July 9, 1997, in the Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. today, at St. Lukes Lutheran Church, Wishek, with the Rev. Jeff Franko officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery, Wishek.

Bill Huber was born May 7, 1928 at Wishek, the son of William and Emelia (Wolf) Huber. He attended Wishek Public School and graduated from Wishek High School in 1946. He attended the Interstate Business College at Fargo, graduating in 1948. He and Phyllis Sayler were married Aug. 7, 1949 at Wishek. They made their home in Wishek where he owned and managed his own real estate, insurance and tax accounting business. In 1986 he sold the business and retired. In 1990 they moved to Bismarck where they have resided.

He was a member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church, served on the church board, was president of the church board, belonged to the Brotherhood, taught Sunday School, served on the cemetery board, leader of the senior choir, started the men's chorus and also sang solos on many occasions. He also served on the Wishek Hospital Board, Tri-County Fair Board, Association of Commerce, Wishek Nursing Home Board, Wishek Park Board, president of the City Council, charter member of the Wishek Golf Club and Wishek Riding Club.

Surviving is his wife, Phyllis Mae Huber, Bismarck; four children, Mary (Richard) Boyack, Elbow Lake, Minn., Bill F. (Kim) Huber, Bismarck, Lois (Bob) Mauch, West Fargo, and Bonita (Lawrence) Kracke, Wishek; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and his mother, Emelia Huber, Wishek. He was preceded in death by his father. (Haut Funeral Home, Wishek) Leo Krenzel ESMOND -- Leo Krenzel, 81, Esmond, died July 10, 1997, in the Harvey hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Esmond. Arrangements are pending with Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey. Lydia Poykko WISHEK -- Lydia Poykko, 88, Wishek, died July 9, 1997, in the Wishek retirement home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Gackle. Burial will be in Saarie Cemetery, south of Gackle. She is survived by two brothers, Leonard and Wesley, both of Gackle. (Haut Funeral Home, Gackle) Robert Curfman Robert Curfman, 63, 611 N. 29th St., Bismarck, died July 8, 1997, in South Dakota. Arrangements are pending with Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck.

Victor Bring
Victor E. Bring, 95, Medcenter One Care Center, Mandan, died June 23, 1997, in the Mandan nursing home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Eastgate Funeral Service, with the Rev. Kerry Stastny officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.

Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today and until service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Victor was born June 13, 1902, in Oakland, Neb., the son of Charles and Hilda (Pedersen) Bring. He was raised and educated in the Mayville-Galesburg area. He married Marie Reynolds, June 2, 1926, in Hillsboro. He was involved in the cattle business for more than 30 years. He was involved in all aspects of the business, including trucking, sales barn managing and selling and buying of various types of livestock. Victor and Marie lived in various communities in North Dakota before settling in Bismarck. They traveled extensively throughout North Dakota buying cattle during their marriage. Victor retired from the cattle business at the age of 90.

He is survived by his wife, Marie; one daughter, Zona Bring, Bismarck; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Elsie, Boise, Idaho, and Edward and Anna Mae, Redding, Calif.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Faye Groven, Galesburg; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and one sister.

Christine Schulz
Christine (Miller) Schulz, 89, Bismarck, died June 23, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Bethel Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with burial at 2 p.m. Thursday in St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Golden Valley.

Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Goetz Funeral Home, Washburn, and will continue at the church one hour before services.

Christine was born June 18, 1908, at Golden Valley, the daughter of Christian and Amalia (Schlender) Miller, who immigrated to America from Krem, South Russia, in 1893. She was the youngest of their 15 children. She married Arthur F.K. Schulz, June 27, 1926, at Golden Valley. Mr. Schulz taught English in the rural schools near Golden Valley and Halliday while Mrs. Schulz managed a growing household through the Great Depression and World War II. In 1951, their family of six moved to Georgetown, Minn., where Mr. Schulz managed the grain elevator. Over the years, Mrs. Schulz helped make ends meet by caring for neighbors' children and as a hotel housekeeper. The couple moved to Moorhead, Minn., in 1956, and to Bismarck in 1980. Mrs. Schulz was admitted into a Bismarck hospital June 2, 1997, having suffered heart failure.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 14 siblings; two infant daughters; and her husband.

She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, O.A. and Mary, Washburn, Jim and Shirley, Bismarck, and Delton, Thief River Falls, Minn.; one daughter, Betty L. Fettig, Las Vegas; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and her recipe for stroodles.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Bethel Lutheran Church.

Steven Toepke
Steven James Toepke, 27, Hyder, Alaska, died June 20, 1997, in a canoeing accident in Alaska. Services will be at 10 a.m. MDT Thursday at Peace Church, New Salem, with the Rev. Richard Herb officiating. Burial will be in Judson Cemetery. Memorial services also will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at First Congregational Church, Winona, Minn.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, New Salem, and will continue at the church one hour before services.

Steven was born July 26, 1969, at Webster City, Iowa, the son of David and Sharon (Colton) Toepke. Steven loved the outdoors and to travel. His career as a carpenter allowed him to enjoy both. He always was looking for an adventure and lived life to the fullest. He and his family took pride in his many adventurous accomplishments. Some of those included mountain biking trips across the Mojhave Desert, climbing Mt. Rainier at 14,410 feet in Washington state, successfully skiing the American Birkebeiner in Hayward, Wis., three times with a 1997 time under three hours, his hunting and fishing trips, snowboarding in the Tetons, or living in Alaska and climbing the glaciers for the ultimate snowboard ride. Living in Hyder and near Jackson Hole, Wyo., he was happily surrounded by some of our country's most beautiful sights.

Steve was a wonderful son, caring brother and a true friend. His honesty, sense of humor and carefree spirit will be missed by all who were touched by him.

He is survived by his parents; his brother, Alan; two sisters, Beth and Linda, all of Winona; his grandmothers, Violet Toepke, New Salem, and Jean Colton, Bismarck; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Caroline Nistler
GLENDIVE, Mont. -- Caroline Nistler, 67, Glendive, died June 24, 1997, in her home. Services will be at 10 a.m. MDT Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Glendive. Further arrangements are pending at Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home, Glendive.

Henry Krieger
KILLDEER -- Henry Krieger, 86, Killdeer, died June 24, 1997, in the Killdeer nursing home. Arrangements are pending at Mischel-Olson Chapel, Dickinson.

Joann Stolt
MAX -- Joann Stolt, 61, Max, died June 24, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Arrangements are pending at Thompson Funeral Home, Garrison.

Edmund Hartl
FARGO -- Edmund Hartl, 90, Fargo, died June 23, 1997, in a Fargo hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bremen.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores; six daughters, Mary Larson, Bernadette Whetham, Lolita Romanick, all of Grand Forks, Cecelia Ferry, Manvel, Colette Hartle, Coconut Creek, Fla., and Celine Craig, Brookhaven, Miss.; and two sons, Edmund, Billings, Mont., and Eugene, New Rockford.

Richard Steinbach
HETTINGER -- Richard B. Steinbach, 75, Hettinger, died June 23, 1997, in the Hettinger hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. MDT Wednesday at Hettinger Lutheran Church, with burial in Hettinger Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Luella; four sons, Richard, Eden, Ga., Michael, Hopkins, Minn., Craig, Page, Ariz., and Mark, Albuquerque, N.M.; two daughters, Lynda Nelson, Salem, Ill., and Lori Vail, Bowman; three brothers, Dr. Albert, Detroit, and John and Calvin, both of Hettinger; and one sister, Ann Wieland, Hettinger.
